For a time Sanguis dwelt on the edge of sleep, lulled there by the sound of crickets chirping their song as ferried so generously into the dim room by the cool, crisp air. They laid, eyes closed--not quite plumbing the dark waters of sleep, but bobbing in the waves. As the constant song and breeze remained, so happily they remained in their place, feeling at any time they may dip into those gentle waters.

A shift in the bed and an accompanying creak plucked their nerves to alert. The encroaching warmth of another body, however, relented them again to the same inky tide. Sanguis smiled an unseen smile and shifted their weight.

"I was wondering when...Ooh, a little closer?" They rolled onto their side. An arm flopped over Gabriel. Sanguis wriggled closer, nudging him into the curve of their body--they spoke up, pleading in raspy, sleep-deprived earnest

"Closer, my love...?"
