I put this in tags but it deserves its own post!
OF COURSE Kristen is turning her back of Cassandra! She's a 16/17 year old who learned that the religion she dedicated her life to was the cause of great suffering, had to separate from her fundamentalist family, moved into a home with a bunch of people she's only known a year, immediately left that home to go on a deeply traumatic adventure, during which she died, and at the end of it all her girlfriend, her rock, left her.
She was born into Helio. Helio provided structure, rules, guidelines through which she lived her life. When she stepped out of her bubble and learned of the atrocities he supported, her world crumbled down around her.
So, naturally, she becomes desperate for answers. Yes! and Yes? are created as answers to every question she's ever had. But you cannot answer "why did this happen" with "yes". Yes can provide comfort, but Kristen needs truth.
Cassandra must be the truth. After all, she was undone by lies and illusions. When she says that she doesn't know why, Kristen knows it is the truth.
But sometimes, I don't know isn't enough. Kristen is inherently curious, constantly exploring the boundaries of what she can do or say, trying to find the hard wall so that she can understand her own place in the world.
The gym is solid. There is only so far you can run before your legs give out. There is only so much you can lift before it collapses down on you. But the gym is also free. Endless possibilities to explore. She could do yoga or lift weights or just sit around in the smoothie bar. She can continuously push her own boundaries instead of testing everyone else's, and find her place within herself.
Kristen is a deeply traumatised teenage girl who needs somewhere safe to explore. As beautiful as the endless night is, it would be all too easy to float away and lose herself forever.
Unjokingly, the gym offers the safety and freedom that Kristen desperately needs.

she's a bug type gym leader and also the head of the local Weird Science lab. does she do chemistry does she do biology does she do toxicology. unclear. she does not do entomology though. she's just like this. her interns are used to her. she's a little freak and comes to work in stupid t shirts and sweats and one time tried to argue that socks and sandals were up to lab safety code So Hard that they had to add a whole new guideline to tell her no. how is she the head now.

Is the Social Credit System a way to instill good behavior and provide safety to citizens? At what cost? 
The introduction of the Social Credit System represents a significant change in management, with the objective of shaping societal behavior and ensuring citizen safety through an elaborate system of observation and evaluation.  Designed with the aim of promoting good conduct and reducing possible hazards, this system generates important concerns regarding its efficiency in accomplishing these goals. The Social Credit System (SCS) of China has garnered significant scientific and public interest due to its comprehensive attempt to incorporate traditional commercial credit ratings with social behavior (Meissner, cited in liang 2018). The Chinese government seeks to examine the "creditworthiness" and "trustworthiness" of individuals and organizations by assigning them a computational score based on their past and current social and economic activities. These credit scores will determine whether the participant is eligible for incentives or penalties (Liang 2018). Does the social credit system provide an effective method for promoting good conduct and maintaining security while protecting privacy and freedom of its citizens, and does it achieve this without incurring any costs?

The Social Credit System (SCS) has numerous potential advantages. Through the introduction of incentive for beneficial activities and the promotion of a collective feeling of responsibility, the system has the ability to improve social behavior. According to Gaedke (2021), advantages involve reduced electricity expenses, availability to prestigious universities and advanced education, easier access to public housing, complimentary gym membership, and an increased chance of getting a loan. Participating in a certain amount of positive acts inside the Social Credit System framework not only provides incentives but also serves as a compelling motivation for individuals to make excellent contributions to their community. Moreover, its function in detecting possible dangers and decreasing criminal behavior through increased monitoring shows potential for improving public safety. According to Alguliyev (2021), The Chinese government claims that, despite the challenges, the SCS has a significant role in minimizing risks in the economic domain and may serve as a crucial tool in guaranteeing and preserving public safety.Citizens in all nations desire a society that is both stable and secure. The SCS promotes the establishment of a model legal system in the country, with extensive oversight over the actions of citizens, government entities, and various corporations. But it's important to look at these possible benefits in the context of the bigger issues and effects that come with having such a thorough system for keeping an eye on society.

With the benefits the SCS brings, there are significant risks and costs linked to the implementation of the Social Credit System. Amidst the potential advantages, there are significant risks and costs linked to the implementation of the Social Credit System. One notable primary concern is the invasion of privacy due to the system's heavy surveillance and data gathering, which raises concerns about protecting individuals' personal information and privacy .According to Alguliyev (2021), one of the law problems with the SCS is that it neglects individuals' privacy and submitting their socio-economic status to information systems goes against political guidelines and the concepts of "personal data security". Additionally, constantly keeping an eye on people's daily lives could mean that their private lives are invaded, which could affect their freedom. There are multiple instances where the Social Credit System tries to introduce a new policy with positive intentions, but local governments implement the policy in various twisted ways to serve their own goals (Liang 2018). As a result, social credit programs have the potential to limit individual rights, such as freedom of speech. These problems highlight the requirement for a detailed examination of the balance between the advantages of the system and the protection of basic individual rights.

However, Chinese individuals may face challenges when expressing disagreement towards specific policies, numerous instances exist where both the central and local government have reconsidered or overturned decisions in response to widespread public protests (Creemers 2018). The criticism towards the SCS serves as a means for expressing concerns, resulting in a dynamic engagement between the government's objectives and the rights and aspirations of the people. According to Gaedke (2021), critics of the system, especially those in western media, have compared it to a dystopian feature of a science fiction film.

In conclusion, the Social Credit System includes a complicated web of possible advantages and significant disadvantages, raising crucial inquiries regarding the complex balance between community wellbeing and personal rights. Studies have demonstrated that although social credit settlement is intended to safeguard a nation's economic welfare and security, it can compromise citizens' rights, impact their livelihoods, and give rise to data security concerns( Alguliyev 2021). The Social Credit System requires a reconsideration of trust, limitations on personal freedom, and the moral values that should guide our pursuit of an unbiased and equal social framework.

In your Outed AU, how does this change how the bats operate? Because, for example, the bats use a lot of explosives, which is usually very regulated. Under greater scrutiny by the government, would they try and push for access to bat tech (I'm lol-ing so hard at the idea that some military dude, who has dealt with Brucie before, tries to approach The Barman to try and strong arm him into sharing patents), or just restrict what they can carry or even regulate what they are allowed to use. Do they make them agree to follow work place safety laws, like you cannot work more then X amount of hours, or you have to fill out these reports to us. Maybe they regulate what kind of crime they can fight.
Sorry, I just really enjoy the details of world building like that (I'm the JSA Anon from before). I imagine that any building that Bruce builds or helps fund the building of, so anything JLA associated, meets or even exceeds ADA guidelines, as well as any reasonable building codes, but do you think there are efforts to make them reveal build plans and things like that under the pretense of making sure they meet such regulations? And speaking of buildings, you said before you could see heros creating their own communities in which they live. Like. How do you think that starts, and disconnected is it from the rest of the world. Like, do a couple thousand people live in hyper futuristic towns with things like zetas and force fields, while everyone else barely even knows those things are possible outside of the occasional villian attack? First off, I hope you got that stone out I know kidneys stones are super painful. Second, sorry it took so long I will admit my brain kept frizzling out reading the long ask.
You brought up so many interesting things I don't know where to begin. That said, one of my favorite aspects of the AU is people thinking they're dealing with Brucie or even Batman, instead they're stuck with B who is a meticulous neurotic mix of the two and will take none of your crap.
And yeah I think the communities start off small. Here's a gated neighborhood to keep out reporters. Here's an advanced secuirty system to keep out villains. Oh lets add a market and a park so we don't have to step outside the safe zone. Whoops need schools and a gym and restaurants and yoga places. Until they're pretty much built super cities that, yeah would put normal tech to shame. Why hide their zetas and powers and such? It really would create a divide, they would view the public as a little bit separate when they no longer live among them.

Cruising Caspian’s Seas (not a spelling mistake)
So, I have been following an entertaining thread in one of my Goodreads groups. Someone asked, “Just for fun, if you could visit one setting of a Sci-Fi or Fantasy book for a day, which would you choose and why?”
There were some great suggestions, like the Shire, Wall, to visit the fair every nine years, Rivendell, Arrakis, San Francisco in the Star Trek universe and a lot more, that if I’m honest, I didn’t get and had to Google.
This reminded me of the FAQs I answered when I first set up my Goodreads author page…
Q: If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
A: Robin Tompkins That’s a tricky question. Most of the fictional places I engage with, tend to be great to read about but probably not the best places to actually visit. It’s a bit obvious of me but I would perhaps say Narnia? Not White Witch era Narnia though. Perhaps they are running Dawn Treader cruises now? Nice, comfy, all-inclusive ones, with a good buffet and a nice bar? I’d probably do that.
Which got me thinking about what that cruise would be like exactly…

Cruising on either MS Cair Paravel or MS Queen Lucy, identical sister ships recently refurbished to the highest standards. Facilities include: two pools, sauna, spa, gym and fitness centre. Five restaurants, eight bars, movie theatre, planetarium and enclosed observation deck.
Itinerary:
Depart Cair Paravel docks on an early morning sailing into the Great Eastern Ocean.
The Lone Islands
Plenty of time to visit the bustling local markets and get a bite to eat at one of the many fine restaurants, or, if you prefer, the street food scene here is a lively one.
Optional Tour
Guided excursion to the Ducal Palace (former Governor’s residence) and a chance to hear about the darker side of the island’s history, with a visit to the Museum of Slavery. Entrance to both included.
Dragon Island
A small but lovely island with an interesting past. Simply relax on the beach or at one of the many cool beach bars. Local speciality is a cocktail made with fermented palm sap called a “Hot Dragon,” (two shots) or a “Warm Dragon,” (one shot).
Optional Tour
Locally guided tour to the Dragon’s Cave. Marvel at the life size animatronic dragon and see the actual dragon bones in the small museum. The museum shop is a great place to pick up souvenirs, they have dragon themed gifts to suit all budgets, from key rings and fridge magnets to gigantic and wonderfully cuddly plushies!
Deathwater Island
An unremarkable looking little island with quite the secret. Purchase one of the sweet little key ring sized teddy bears from the gift shop at the docks and follow our experienced guide up to “The Pool.” Please, Please, stay behind the line and listen to your guide at all times, it’s for your own safety. Watch, as the local custodian takes your teddies for a dip in the pool and returns them to you, now made from solid gold!
Duffer’s Island
The friendly locals will make you very welcome. There is plenty to see and do here and the restaurants are superb. However, you might want to be aware of this comment that we snipped from “Trip Advisor.”
“The Dufflepuds could not have been more welcoming. Lovely restaurant, decorated in the island style with curios everywhere and a great ambience. The food is to die for but don’t make my mistake, you have to remember the local’s mode of locomotion here people… Don’t order the soup, don’t order the soup or any, and I mean any, hot beverage… oh yes, and no red wine either, don’t go there, trust me.”
Optional Tour
Guided visit to the Magician’s Palace and two hour “introduction to simple spell casting” lesson with a registered second year apprentice magician.
The Dark Island
Unfortunately, due to new international maritime guidelines and certain well publicised incidents that you may be aware of, we no longer take parties ashore here. It is still a spectacular and mysterious site as we sail by though.
The Island of the Star
There is a wealth of information available at the visitor centre here and in the “Sleeping Lords” Museum. Star spotters though need to be cautious, as Ramandu and his lovely daughter understandably, do not like people turning up unannounced at their gates. There are however, a number of lovely items that they have been gracious enough to trap a little starlight in, available in the gift shop. These range from earrings and necklaces, through to tiny bottles of starlight and snow globes. Proceeds from the sale of these items benefit local charities.
Merpeople Fiesta
At the edge of the “Sweet Seas” we anchor up. Your ship will hold a spectacular gala party with fireworks and dancing. It’s Merpeople themed, and costumes are available in our onboard shop. For that authentic touch, why not barter with the actual Merpeople who will swim out to the ship in the afternoon? They love to trade for their hand made trinkets, sustainably made from coral and shells.
Only the Brave
If you are brave enough, the ship’s launch can take a small party out onto the Lily Sea to get a better look at the Reepicheep memorial and the Great Wave. The really intrepid can take out a two-man kayak with one of our expert guides and get even closer. Please note that the line of lion headed buoys marks the international Aslan Line and your guide cannot take you beyond that point in line with maritime law. Please be aware that places are limited on this excursion, it’s first come first served, so register early.
A Fond Farewell?
For those on the Short Package, we sadly must say farewell. You will portal back via picture/wardrobe to your original joining point. *
The party is not over yet for those clients who opted for the Full Package. Your ship will now return to Narnia Cair Paravel Docks via a limited stop reverse of the outward route. There will be more days at sea but that is all the more time to enjoy the wonderful facilities and “me time” available on your lavishly appointed cruise ship.
Here be Sea Serpents
You may have noticed on your maps an area near Deathwater Island marked “Here be Sea Serpents.” The reverse route will take in this enigmatic ocean area and if you are lucky and we usually are (management cannot guarantee sightings) you will be able to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. For your own safety, we recommend viewing from the enclosed observation deck, where our resident serpent expert will be on hand to answer all of your questions.
Cair Paravel and Sadly we Must Say Goodbye
Upon docking at our final destination, we include a tour of the castle and a farewell luncheon in the main hall. After which we say goodbye as you portal home via picture/wardrobe to your original joining point, * your mind brimming with happy memories. See you next year?
*Please note some clients may need to change at the “Wood Between the Worlds” interchange before travelling on to your original joining point. Royal Narnia Lines representatives will be on hand to safely guide you through the process.

hiii first off are you ok? i hope you're not hurt too bad. i just heard a few 127 members got hurt filming a commercial today and had to go to the hospital, which again brings me to my rant of why do people start ignoring health and safety the second the number of accidents go down? what part of you doesn't realise that the whole reason it's safer is because these guidelines/people exist??? anyway i hope they're ok and that if they are hurt, they won't be pushed to perform in concerts until they've had time to properly recover
… also, unrelated, but i saw this and it reminded me of you
Hiii, Yeah I'm okay it actually started to get better once I took the bandage off and let it breathe. Cause I noticed the scrapes on my knees healed in a day and I just cleaned them and let them breathe. So I thought I babying my elbow was why it was in so much pain and I was right.
What I'm not understanding is why wasn't the jungle gym structure checked to make sure it's safe. Even if it was the one they use every show I don't think it was it looked smaller but it should be tested everytime before use things can go wrong quickly. But if was new it really should have been checked it was enforced enough. I really hope that it's just a couple of scratches and bruises and nothing serious. And they have time to get better and heal. Poor babies. I hope they're okay.
And yes!!! Well 40% Chris and 40% Hyunjin they have equal real estate in my heart but this one, Christopher. How can I be normal about him.
