☀️ More about your Gorsepaw AU?
It takes place at the end of the last hope. StarClan is celebrating its victory while also welcoming the new cats who died and joined their ranks. Old Clanmates and long-lost kin are being reunited, it's all very touching.
Gorsepaw wants to join in the celebration but he feels out of place. He knows from past experience that if he walks up to a new warrior and greets them, even if they're from WindClan, they're going to look at him like "should I know you". The ones who recognize him do so only by name and then they're like "oh you're the apprentice from that story my mom told me about!" And what story are they referring to? The only one that Gorsepaw plays a part in, the one where Tigerstar makes all of WindClan watch as he pins him down and makes an example out of him.
Despite the celebration, Gorsepaw feels hollow. He's tried for such a long time to accept his death and just when he thinks he's made peace with it, he realizes that he's still a bitter apprentice. So he leaves in search of an important pool.
In StarClan there are different pools that can show you different things. Anyone can look into them, but there is one pool that everyone has always advised Gorsepaw to ignore; the pool that can show a cat glimpses of the future, either a cat that is still alive or a cat that died young. Gorsepaw has never looked into it and asked what his own future would've held if Tigerstar never killed him. But now it's eating him alive and he just has to know.
But before his future is shown to him, there's a commotion. Gorsepaw startles and falls into the pool. He opens his eyes and suddenly he's not in StarClan anymore, he's in WindClan. He's frozen in shock. He doesn't understand what's happened but he doesn't have time to dwell on it either because just moments later, Mudclaw bursts into camp sounding an alarm, and Gorsepaw instantly realizes what day it is; it's the day that TigerClan attacks WindClan and Tigerstar kills him to send a warning to everyone else.
Without thinking, Gorsepaw runs out of camp, far away from the battle. He's frazzled and confused and scared but he knows that he is Not supposed to be alive rn. He decides to tell Onewhisker, his mentor and future leader, everything and maybe they can come up with a way to get Gorsepaw back to StarClan. He really doesn't want to die again but he also doesn't want to change the future.
When Gorsepaw returns to WindClan he finds out that in his absence, Tigerstar used Onewhisker to make an example out of. WindClan's next leader is dead and it's Gorsepaw's fault because he ran.
Firestar and his patrol arrive but just like last time, they're too late. Firestar and Tallstar speak and agree to form LionClan. Gorsepaw has always admired Firestar and he knows that StarClan has sent him dreams for a long time; if anyone is capable of believing his situation then it will be Firestar.
So Gorsepaw asks to speak to him alone. He explains his situation to Firestar, explains that he is supposed to be dead and Onewhisker would have gone on to lead WindClan, and he asks Firestar what he should do now. Firestar's answer catches him off guard:
"You live."
There's more to it ofc but basically, Firestar says that even though they don't understand exactly how or why, Gorsepaw has been granted a second chance at life and Firestar thinks it would be a waste to not use it.
So then... okay. Gorsepaw won't focus on getting back to StarClan, he'll focus on living a normal life but he wants to cause as few ripples as possible. It's very important to him that the future remains as untouched as possible.
So he doesn't tell Firestar about BloodClan or Scourge or SkyClan, etc, and Firestar doesn't ask, he simply says "see you in three days."
Gorsepaw attends the meeting with TigerClan, but as WindClan and ThunderClan merge, he begins to realize that there are cats present who should be dead; Silverstream, for example, and not only is she alive but she stands with ThunderClan. He hears murmurs that Mistyfoot and Stonefur are dead, killed by Tigerstar. Sandstorm stands beside Firestar as deputy; when Gorsepaw whispers to a ThunderClan apprentice and asks why Whitestorm isn't present, they stare at him blankly.
TigerClan arrives. Gorsepaw is shocked to see Bramblepaw following his father, and only then does he notice that Tawnypaw presses close to Brackenfur, her very first mentor.
The meeting plays out exactly like Gorsepaw remembers, despite the unfamiliar ranks. Firestar reveals the truth about Tigerstar. Tigerstar introduces Scourge and his BloodClan. Gorsepaw braces himself, waiting for the strike that will steal all nine of Tigerstar's lives at once.
He watches in horror as Scourge lands that strike on Firestar. The famous leader crumples to the ground and does not rise again. There is chaos; Tigerstar is furious. He snarls that it was his destiny to kill Firestar and no one else's. Scourge has stolen this from him.
Scourge decides that because Tigerstar is ungrateful for his help, their deal is no more. Five mornings from now the Clans will either leave the forest forever or they will die. It's the same deal that was offered before, but this time the forest does not have Firestar to lead them.
Tigerstar orders his Clan to return to camp but Leopardstar speaks up and says that TigerClan is no more; he lied to her about the crimes he committed and if one ShadowClan warriors steps foot onto RiverClan territory, they will die.
Furious, Tigerstar returns to ShadowClan. The other Clans return to their own camps, and a great sense of foreboding covers the forest.
Tallstar decides that without Firestar, the Clans stand no chance against BloodClan. They will find a new home. Gorsepaw knows that they can't give into Scourge's demands. He feels responsible for Firestar's death so he assumes his role; he convinces some other WindClan cats to travel to ThunderClan with him to speak to Sandstorm.
Sandstorm is too furious to grieve the loss of her mate. She doesn't care who stands beside her, she doesn't care if she is the only warrior who will fight, she is going to meet Scourge in five days and she is going to avenge her mate, and then she's going to kill Tigerstar, too.
ThunderClan rallies around her. Gorsepaw and his Clanmates promise to be there as well. That leaves RiverClan and ShadowClan; ThunderClan is harboring Silverstream after rescuing her and her kits from Bonehill. Silverstream volunteers to visit Leopardstar and strike a new allegiance. That just leaves Tigerstar and ShadowClan.
Sandstorm looks at Gorsepaw and says that she will visit ShadowClan as long as he comes with her. Gorsepaw is caught off guard by her request but he agrees to it.
They, along with a few others, go to ShadowClan. Gorsepaw doesn't know what they can possibly say to Tigerstar to convince him to ally with them, but in the end it doesn't matter; Blackfoot and the rest of ShadowClan chased him out. When Sandstorm asks if ShadowClan will join LionClan, he agrees to it.
The battle takes place. Sandstorm kills Scourge. As BloodClan flees, Gorsepaw suddenly notices Tigerstar weaving through the crowd towards Sandstorm, his claws glistening.
Gorsepaw thinks about how Tigerstar held him down and forced WindClan to watch as he killed him. He thinks about a future that doesn't exist now, where Tigerstar and Firestar battle one more time. He reacts almost without thought; he tackles Tigerstar. For a split second he has the advantage of surprise on his side and he uses it to find Tigerstar's jugular and he bites.
He doesn't know what he'll do when Tigerstar comes back to his body but if he's managed to steal even one of his lives then Gorsepaw has avenged himself.
Tigerstar never rises. The Clans are shocked; Gorsepaw knows his bite didn't have the power to kill Tigerstar nine times. That's when Runningnose appears and admits that StarClan never granted Tigerstar nine lives; that's the reason he went hunting for BloodClan.
Scourge is dead. Tigerstar is dead. The Clans won.
That night, Tallstar gives Gorsepaw his warrior name: Gorsefire.
Gorsefire sits vigil that night and thinks. No matter what he does or doesn't do, it seems like he won't be able to protect the future. Firestar and Onewhisker are both dead. Sandstorm will lead ThunderClan. Who knows about ShadowClan or RiverClan or even WindClan. With that in mind, Gorsefire decides to honor his namesake and live without fear of the future. Maybe he can even help build a better future.
The next morning Gorsefire is relieved of his vigil. He's halfway to the warriors' den when Mudclaw sounds an alarm. Gorsefire panics until Mudclaw brings Sandstorm - Sandstar - into camp. She asks to speak with Gorsefire.
Once they're alone, Sandstar admits that Firestar told her everything about Gorsefire's situation before he died. She doesn't want to know the future of ThunderClan or the fate of the forest; she only wants to know what her own future was supposed to hold.
Gorsefire understands. He tells her almost everything, leaving out the journey to find SkyClan. He tells her that she became one of the most respected warriors in ThunderClan, and she trained many apprentices, and she had two daughters named Leafpool and Squirrelflight, and she grew old with Firestar for as long as any leader and mate are allowed to.
And finally, Sandstar can grieve. She thanks Gorsefire and before she returns to her own Clan, she tells him that he will always have an ally in her.
Time goes on. Gorsefire becomes something of a legend; as an apprentice he killed Tigerstar and saved Sandstar's life. When Mudclaw dies in a pointless border skirmish, Gorsefire has just finished training his first apprentice.
No one has any objections when Tallstar makes Gorsefire his deputy.
And when Tallstar passes away by the lake, no one objects when Gorsefire steps up as WindClan's rightful leader. And for many moons, there is peace.

future leader/deputy pairings for funsies :)
thunderclan
- ivystar (😓) & spotfur
- i don't want squirrelstar. she's old & i'm tired of firestar's lineage shit. ik ivypool is. ivypool. and related to firestar but she's like the only reasonable choice here let's be honest. plus i think it's funny. spotfur is her sister in this au but i think a little sister nepotism is okay. & spotfur would eventually step down & retire. (then twigbranch can become deputy and leader).
shadowclan
- sunstar & lightleap or lightstar & sunbeam
- i have not read asc But. either of these combinations are fantastic. trust me.
skyclan
- dewstar & needleclaw
- dewspring is reliable generic warrior #1736292 & needleclaw is a violetshine baby so she's special To Me and rootspring is too cringefail to be deputy but tbh in this au i might give her rootspring's role & if that's the case then turtlecrawl can be deputy under dewstar
windclan
- smokestar & songleap
- in an ideal world i'd be picking sedgewhisker as future leader of windclan but she's getting a little old (😭😭😭) so i chose a breezepelt clone. her name is funny too. & songleap bc she's a sedgewhisker descendant & i loaf sedgewhisker
riverclan
- erm

just thinking about how i've revamped starclan for my aus...
all the mystical bullshit the clans believe starclan can do? actually the work of a handful of cats that were remembered for so long they gained godhood. ...and there's a surprising amount of them -- probably enough to have a full clan if you tried.
clan kitty hell? it's just banishment from starclan's circle of the afterlife. "dark forest" is an ancient term for "mysterious beyond", although the word "dark" can still mean "unknown" or "mystery" in certain contexts.
individual starclan cats -- and those that have been banished -- can have some power, depending on how many cats remember them. this power typically wanes until the spirit fades and falls from the sky. that's what the "dying warrior" in arc 2 was. [if i'd have to name the cat it was, i'd probably go with mistpelt. some old cat that mentored tigerclaw's father] the most power any single starclan cat ever displays is to either appear in the dreams of the living -- very frowned upon, please don't do it spottedleaf i don't care if he's savior of the clans or his kin have strong ties to starclan they need some fucking sleep some time -- or create tabby/tortoiseshell patterns on kits. [completely solid cats with no tabby marks or funky colors are said to be very bad signs, especially if they're the only cats in the nursery or apprentice den. solid cats are just simply seen as bad luck, while tabby torties/calicos are seen as extra lucky.]
spirits that were banished from starclan only truly have power among the clans if starclan was split on their decision, if the warrior code was changed because of this spirit's life, or because this cat is called upon by the living for any sort of help because it seems like starclan abandoned them. this typically results in said spirits ascending to godhood and rejoining starclan because who can keep a god from doing what they want to? ...plus, the more gods, the less likely living cats are to call upon banished spirits for help.
so far the only banished spirits to become gods are ripplestar -- a cat who lived so long ago that the living only remember him as a god you'd invoke for good fortune during an ambush [so the clan he lead in life, shadowclan, invokes him the most often] -- and mapleshade.
so far the list of gods in starclan are:
wind runner/windstar: god of wind and austereness
tall shadow/the tallest shadow: god of shadows and change
river('s) ripple: god of water and adaptability
thunder: god of storms and protection
skystar: god of skies and war [worshiped by non-clan cats as well]
graywing the wise: god of wisdom
mothflight the wandering: god of medicine [prophecies come from her; invoked by medcats during epidemics]
pebbleheart the all-seeing: god of clairvoyance [prophecies come from him too; invoked by medcats before they share tongues with starclan, be it alone or during a Consulting, my name for the half-moon gatherings]
gorsestar: god of earth and cunning [invoked only in windclan before entering a cave or tunnel or before a hunt]
cloudflower* and ryewhisker: gods of tragic love [typically invoked in jest when teasing a cat about a cross-clan crush. seriously invoked in hopes of granting a peaceful future for kits that are the byproducts of forbidden romances. also gods of other religions, as they originally rejected starclan after death. (i'll need to work on the details later, but know that non-clan cats worship them solely as gods of love.)]
maplestar: god of leadership and wisdom [skyclan exclusive, though she is worshiped (with the name maple's whisker) by non-clan cats in the modern day, thanks to skyclan's dissolution.]
ripplestar: god of ambushes
darkstar of skyclan: god of leaders. [invoked when a deputy becomes leader, in hopes of protecting them. also his name translates to mystery star.]
mossheart, swiftfoot, quailfeather, kinktail, and prickleface: gods of healing [invoked by medcats after battles or when cats are attacked by larger predators. other cats invoke them when the clan's medcat(s) head off to the consulting. specifically invoked by shadowclan, windclan, skyclan, riverclan, and thunderclan respectively. quailfeather (under the name quail's feather) is worshiped by non-clan cats as all gods who were skyclan in life are.]
rabbitstar: god of tunnels [windclan exclusive and is invoked prior to starting any new tunneling project or entering unfamiliar tunnels/caves]
morningstar the kind: god of protection [invoked before battle in order to ensure as many cats as possible come back home. also the first cat since founding days to be referred to with a title.]
lilystar: god of feasts [invoked commonly during famines in order to end them, but is also invoked in times of plenty to give thanks]
meadowpelt and troutstar: gods of watchfulness [invoked most often by new warriors about to sit vigil]
featherstar and acornstar: gods of teaching and learning respectively [invoked when new apprentices are given mentors in the hopes that both mentor and apprentice will be good matches for each other and both cats grow from it]
ivystar: god of rescues and missed opportunities [invoked when rescuing kits and when young cats die]
redscar: god of improvisation [invoked when horrifically unplanned things happen, such as a young leader losing all their lives, a clan losing their medicine cat, etc.]
flowerstar: god of nurture [typically invoked by new leaders wishing to guide their clans forward, but also invoked by mothers hoping for the absolute best for their kits]
mapleshade: god of vengeance [usually invoked only by windclan and shadowclan. just speaking her name is said to be enough to actually summon her. only invoke her if you want cats dead or to suffer until they die. not invoked in riverclan or thunderclan because both clans wronged her in life and no cat dares to risk the lives of their clanmates. interestingly, mapleshade's kits have yet to fade, likely because they're integral to her story. they aren't gods, but they have the same amount of power as the freshly deceased.]
daisytail and oakleaf: gods of youth [invoked when wishing for your kits to be protected, regardless of if they're apprentices or younger. riverclan and thunderclan tend to invoke both of them together while windclan only invokes daisytail and shadowclan only invokes oakleaf]
* = this cat's name is canonically cloudberry, but i changed it because a cat later on in the timeline -- goosefeather's mentor -- has the same name. i could have tried to keep their names the same like with the different darkstars, but i'm a stupid shit that accidentally calls onestar's daughter feathertail sometimes. but here's a fun fact: cloudflower's name actually translates to something along the lines of "storm cloud bringing berry flower clusters". [she's a dark grey kitty and i wanted to reference her original name] cloudberry's name [cloudberry as in goosefeather's mentor] translates to something like "wispy cloud that ripens like a berry"
rabbitstar is the only god who didn't create any major change in clan society. this could be argued of morningstar the kind as well, but he has a title and created a rule in the warrior code.

Longstar AU plotpoints
For @blupple-pie, who requested more Longstar AU!  Thanks for the interest!
First off, the name changes for reference!
Longtail = Longstar
Princess = Flamewish
Tiny/Scourge = Frostfoot
Squirrelflight = Foxflight
Leafpool = Swiftpool
Snowkit = Snowthorn
Mistlekit = Mistlenose
Shrewpaw = Shrewleg
Lionblaze = Lionblossom
Jayfeather = Jaywhisker
Hollyleaf = Hollywish
Ivypool = Ivyleaf
And original Characters Flyshadow and Coldlight, kits that are claimed by Frostfoot as his own, but it’s unknown if he fathered them.  But he’s absolutely their dad, no matter the blood.
So I played very loose and free with the timeline, because a) it’s been a while since I read the original and b) I didn’t care, I just wanted to have fun!
Anyways, here’s the major plot points!
Wishkit survives and is found in the woods by some wandering humans who nurse her back to health, and rename her Nutmeg.  She falls for Jake, and has her litter.
The encounter with Tiny, Thistleclaw, Bluefur, and Tigerclaw goes as canon up to a point, but Tigerpaw hurts Tiny badly enough that Bluefur brings him back to Thunderclan.  He's in the Medicine cat den healing up, and bonds with Spottedpaw/leaf (I can’t remember how old she is) and eventually, he sees there’s something wrong.  After some coaxing, and talking with Bluefur (who’s starting to see Tiny as a surrogate son), she spills the beans about Thistleclaw, and hoo boy does he get permabanished reeeaalll fast, pretty much leaves a cat-shaped dust cloud.  Tiny becomes Frostpaw, and Tigerpaw gets mentored by uhhh Bluefur or Thrushpelt.  Then canon continues until...
The fight between Longtail and Rusty!  They’re fighting and Rusty’s pinned when out of left field WHAM!  Princess, who is a Concerned Sibling, sees Kitty Fight Club and her precious sibling getting walloped and absolutely Y E E T S Longtail off her bro.  Bluestar is thankfully impressed she snuck up on camp, and can toss a full-grown warrior like a leaf in a strong breeze, and decides to induct them both into Thunderclan.  Now Firepaw, seeing as he’s had some weird dreams, become’s Spottedleaf’s apprentice, and Flamepaw becomes Bluestar’s.  Canon continues, with character swaps and more apprentice interactions until...
Yellowfang!  See, Fireheart looks identical to Wishkit, except for his pelt, and Flamewish has her pelt.  So when Yellowfang tackles Firepaw while he gathers herbs, she has an emotional flashback, and cut to Firepaw bringing a traumatized old lady back home, Bluestar can I keep her?  Canon continues until...
The death of Lionheart...Longtail heroically throws himself into battle, and is named Deputy, to his and almost everyone’s surprise.  Tigerclaw does try to kill Bluestar later, but it’s both Longtail and Flamewish that confront him.  Longtail knocks him off her, and Flamewish yeets him out of the den.  Canon continues until...
Snowkit!  The hawk swoops but is intercepted by a pissed off Speckletail and Brackenfur, saving his life but at the cost of crippling Speckletail and sending her to the elder’s den when Snowkit and Mistlekit become apprentices.  Canon continues until...
Cloudkit!  So Flamewish wanders off to Two-leg place and comes back pregnant!  Whoops!  So Flamewish becomes nursery bound, and befriends Brindleface, who agrees to nurse Cloudkit, who becomes like a sibling to Fernkit, Ashkit, Flykit, and Coldkit.  Canon continues until...
Tigerstar attacking Windclan!  His attack on Gorsepaw appears to kill the apprentice, but after the attackers leave, he wobbles his head up like “Ha! Gottem!  I need a doctor!”  His injuries are substantial, but he survives, losing some hearing and walking with a severe limp, but compensating with keen vision and smell, and sharp tactical skills.  He later becomes Gorseflicker, then eventually Gorsestar!  Canon continues until...
At some point before Bloodclan shows up, but after the Dogs attack, Longtail, just promoted to Longstar, and Flamewish have a Feelings Jam and start cat-dating. She’s glad he didn’t make her Deputy, and likes Whitestorm for it. And somewhere in there, Frostfoot brings in two kits he claims are his now.  He found them, finders keepers. Canon continues until...
Bloodclan emerges!  But it’s not Scourge obviously, but a familiar face with a new name - Thistleclaw to Tyrant!  When Tigerclaw is revealed to have killed Bluestar, Tyrant whips around and uses his cat-openers on his former apprentice, insta-killing him on the spot.  The warning is given, the Battle happens, and a few new things happen as well!
Whitestorm gets pinned by Bone, but the Apprentice Squad, with Flypaw and Coldpaw, knock him over and destroy his stupid face.  Graystripe defends Fireheart, still his best friend, from Darkstripe, but Darkstripe survives and limps off after the battle, with the ghost of Tigerstar whispering in his ear.
And that’s the first part!  Next up, the appearance of Darktail/Darkmoon, the Journey, and the Three!  Stay tuned, probably tomorrow!

Nobody asked but
Warriors/Wizard101 AU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notes:
- When leaders gain their nine lives, they also gain a mastery over another school of magic
- Dark Forest trainees gain the ability to use Shadow Magic (Shadow Creatures exclusively)
- Dark Forest Members can use Darkmoor spells (aka OP Shadow Magic)
- The Ancients and the Three are based off of Astral schools. Dovewing is Myth but has mastery over Star Magic. Hollyleaf was Moon but couldnt actually prduce any Moon attacks and had to rely on her secondary school to get by (Ice)
Interesting Facts:
Scourge has the Omen Strigbog effect where he is a very powerful Shadow creature but cannot gain regular power pips
Thunderclan lends itself to Pyromancers and Diviners most often, with the occasional Theurigist and Conjurer. Ice Wizards and Necromancers are rare. Thunderstar was a Storm Wizard.
Windclan lends itself to Theuraligsts and Sorcerors. Hard hitting glass cannon schools such as Storm are rare. Both Windstar and Gorsestar and their medicine cat were Life Wizards, so there is a strong emphasis on Life Magic and traditions in Windclan. Tunnelers were often Sorcerors. Gray Wing the Wise is considered to be one of the greatest Sorcerors of all time.
Riverclan lends itself to a wide variety of schools, but often hosts Ice, Myth and Storm Wizards. Myth is especially prized in Riverclan for its ability to be a bulky hitter. Riverstar was an Ice Wizard, but Ice traditions didn’t turn out to be the primary culture of Riverclan.
Shadowclan is host to the selfish schools in regards of gameplay: Necromancers, Storm Wizards and Fire Wizards. Sorcerors are not uncommon as well. Shadowstar, contrary to popular belief, was not a Necromancer but rather a Sorceror. Shadowclan is notable for having a long line of Death school medicine cats, famous for utilizing the supportive attributes of Death magic to heal their patients.
Skyclan: Skyclan doesn’t have a main school one could say, but it is common to find Life Wizards, Conjurers and Sorcerors in Skyclan with the occasional Pyromancer. Skystar was actually a Storm Wizard, but Storm magic in modern Skyclan is uncommon.
Dark Forest members are Shadow school, and boost to the Astral schools (thus making them weak to the 3)
Towards the end of his life, Firestar developed Sun Magic (3 will become 4)
More to come

y'know what? I want an AU in which Gorsepaw lives, and ends up becoming leader in lieu of Onestar
Gorsepaw never forgets how Fireheart and Graystripe brought his Clan home, but learns not to let that gratitude blind him - they are still ThunderClan, and his priority must be WindClan
But Onewhisker's friendship with Fireheart allows for Gorsepaw to keep that connection to the ginger warrior as well
Gorsepaw later becomes Gorseheart, a funny coincidence but he's not actually named after Fireheart
Gorseheart later goes on to mentor Nightpaw, later Nightcloud, around the same time Mudclaw receives Crowpaw as an apprentice
Same events happen in TNP, with Nightpaw receiving her warrior name, Nightcloud, before the journeying cats return - Gorseheart is proud of her, and Tallstar takes notice that he has formed into a fine, compassionate warrior; a far cry from his more aggressive deputy, Mudclaw
When the Clans reach the lake, the same events in canon continue, up until Tallstar denounces Mudclaw's position to Firestar, Brambleclaw, and Onewhisker - Gorseheart is to lead WindClan
Onewhisker makes the announcement to the rest of his Clan, and Gorseheart is shocked - some of his Clanmates, despite their stunned confusion, support him, while others do not
Mudclaw is, of course, the first to protest, snarling that of course they would make the claim of Gorseheart becoming leader - two Thunderclan cats and Firestar's Windclan kittypet present for Tallstar's "announcement", picking a young, soft-hearted warrior who's no better than his former mentor
Gorseheart tries to make peace and offers Mudclaw to remain deputy until they can figure out a way to speak to Starclan to figure out what to do, but Mudclaw refuses
Troubled and unsure of his new responsibilities, mixed with the pressure of dissent amongst his Clanmates, Gorseheart reluctantly takes control as leader and appoints Ashfoot as his deputy - she's older, but far more respected in Windclan than he
A civil war still breaks out, with involvement from the other Clans, and Mudclaw still dies when the tree falls - Starclan has sent a sign confirming Gorseheart's position as leader, and later on when the Moonpool is discovered, he officially becomes Gorsestar
Gorsestar, unlike his mentor in canon, isn't pressured enough to become hostile to the other Clans - he puts Windclan first, encouraging his Clan to take pride in themselves, but knows there are times where help from the others Clans will be necessary
While peaceful and more open, much like Firestar, Gorsestar is no stranger to battle, and will fight fiercely when the time calls for it - his Clan is not soft, nor are they dependent on their Thunderclan neighbors
Farther down the line, when Shadowclan is struck by yellowcough, Gorsestar is willing to allow a small Shadowclan patrol join his Clan back to their territory to gather lungwort - there's no reason to deny them the herbs they desperately need to find
He keeps WindClan's borders open, and is one of the first to agree to joining the other four Clans in battle against the Kin, and is one of the first to defend Skyclan, arguing for them to return
By the time TBC takes place, Gorsestar is old, and is slowing down - he actively argues against "Bramblestar", finding his claims and behavior suspicious, but it doesn't stop his Clan, and his new deputy Harespring, from worrying
But Gorsestar's age begins getting the best of him, and even though he's not dead, Harespring assumes more and more responsibility - going as far as to side with Bramblestar, and lead his Clan into battle against Shadowclan, Skyclan, and the Rebels, just narrowly avoiding being killed by Lionblaze
It's later revealed Gorsestar has died, and it's unclear if Harespring will ever be able to receive his nine lives

AU where Gorsepaw lives and goes on the journey instead of Crowfeather and takes his place (Nothing against Crowfeathe, I just think that WindClan’s chosen shouldn’t have been the odd one out of being a random cat).
yeee gorsestar au!!
id say gorse even being onestars deputy would been good,,
idk anything about harestar tbh he seems fine but i think gorsestar coming after onerstar woulda been really good
and onestar knew gorsepaw he was there when firestar and him met and became friends
and knew gorsepaw meant a lot to firestar, they were dear friends all of them
its good,,

What if Gray Wing lived? (AU)
Tumblr media
If Gray Wing lived the clans might not have been given their current names (or at least not until later). He also would have been able to watch his kits grow up and probably have a second litter with Slate (I'm naming them cause why not Dove Heart and Cinder Cloud). Also if he lived long enough he could be Gorsestar's deputy and eventually the third leader of WindClan (We stan Graystar). And when he does finally die (cause no one lives forever) I imagine him dying peacefully surrounded by his family like he did in the canon.
If you wanna see more of this AU let me know.
