I've been on a little bit of an oc spiral since bringing it up for Cloud's Masterlist - so here's a more formal introduction to parts of the background for my linksona Gwyn, I would love to talk about him if anyone is curious because I love him sm <3 and his lore here is vague to say the least on purpose

Inspired by Ren’s original songs, I align my thoughts on them with the three Triforce components in the above artwork. In the following, I’ll not only describe my drawings, but focus more on how I interpret his songs before discussing what my links are between them and the Triforce.

What I will not do is claim I know his mind and music better than anyone else (let alone the guy himself), nor will I project anything… much…

TL;DR - I entertain all three songs cohering into a story about our former alien warlord seeking new meaning in his life, transitioning from solitude and hostility to worthwhile connections on Earth, with music playing a major role in this. (Apologies in advance if I use the word ‘connection’ a lot.) 01) Wanderer

Elements Drawn: Fire, Darkness

I want to start with his latest song first, because the MV seems to touch on the earlier stages of his lore before his descent on Earth. In other words, it seems to be chronologically first in this yet-trilogy (apart from that ending scene with the rest of ILUNA). According to his lore video, Ren was weary of his race’s bloodthirsty history and left. In Wanderer, Ren seems to express loneliness, either from the lack of friends or love in his darker home planet, or from other planets’ antagonisms towards him. Lyrics such as “could you be alone with me?” may hint that one of the things he hopes to find on his journey is at least one meaningful connection who can accept and truly understand him, however complex or enigmatic he may be, as opposed to fearing and avoiding him.

Nevertheless, my artwork sees the Wanderer of galaxies with the Triforce of Power befitting both his own strengths and violent history. (Similarly, this Triforce would traditionally be blessed to Legend of Zelda’s dark lord Ganondorf.)

Elements Drawn: Water, Sound

This one’s easy; methinks Alien Dabi is addicted to jumbo blueberries :D …Jokes aside, I’ll start with Ren’s own explanation: He underwent a rough time and was stuck in his head, then wrote this song out of both self-criticism and a desire to “feel alive again”. For how therapeutic he finds music to be, I want to say this “sugar high” he pursues is simply music. Not very deep, I know, but it checks off many boxes: It’s his new newfound passion and one of the easier yet healthier “highs” or stimuli to experience. More importantly, it can be a way to communicate feelings and possibly even forge connections with.

To backtrack a bit, Blue Sugar was the first song Ren composed after arriving on Earth and discovering music for the first time. Like as not, his prior challenges would include adapting to life and culture on Earth, to say nothing of a continued solitude. Nevertheless, music can soothe his soul and help him carry though his ordeals. But if he wants a song that can truly “hit the spot” and better yet resonate with others as well, Ren may want to compose a song himself for the first time. Depending on how difficult all of that is, creative frustrations and feeling trapped in his thoughts sound plausible—but hey, long story short, he made it!

The most obvious link to the Triforce of Wisdom here is the color blue (water, Lanayru’s element, go figure). A popular fan theory I embrace is that the “Blue” in “Blue Sugar” alludes to planet Earth where Ren discovers music, with much of the color reflected in our oceans and seas. And while I’m stressing music, (1) water is a good conductor of sound, so I portray Ren in a literal sea of sound in my drawing; (2) in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Link even learns specific songs from Zelda/Sheik, our “Wisdom” bearer. But more pertinent of Wisdom to Ren himself is that I’m seeing Blue Sugar as a mark of his “learning stages” on Earth in general.

Elements Drawn: Flora, Light

After overcoming his personal ordeals and literally finding his own melody, it sounds like Ren has succeeded in getting his voice and presence across the world. The beat and melody of Amplify celebrate his successes, while his lyrics reach out to convey the same optimism and encouragement he has developed. Lines such as “Our connection is by design” not only tells me he has found his aforementioned “meaningful connections” (e.g. ILUNA enrollment), but a tremendous reward to his patience in general. The message I’m hearing is that whatever difficulties or odds we may experience, as long as we perservere and not drown in despair, a perfect timing will be there for us to fulfill our aspirations, just as he found his.

So I scarcely need to explain why Amplified Ren holds the Triforce of Courage; he sounds as encouraged as can be to take on the world and possibly the rest of the galaxy (and this time with less destruction in his wake, maybe).

__ Nonetheless, Wanderer was released after Amplify, so I’m lead to believe either (a) Ren wrote his third song as a humble reminder of how or why he started this journey that led him to this meadow of magic, or (b) simply an expression that his earlier pursuits still continue, even with the… very mixed warmth of his genmates’ camaraderie. Speaking of which, that lower middle space between the three Triforce panels alludes to his inclusion in “Let’s Get It Started” with blessings from the Moon and Sky. Last Word

I arrange all of my ideas here with doors open to future songs from Ren Zotto that may either completely contradict what I have here or fit any of these Triforce virtues better. But to anyone who may see this in the future, I’m only working with the songs available at this current time while awaiting more bangers from the Alien Prince.

01. main timeline / aftermath verse : set during the reconstruction period following the shattering of the mirror of twilight. princess zelda is task with a great responsibility of overseeing hyrule's internal and external recovery. she seeks out political reformation and sets out new treaties of alliances with other foreign powers. under her orders, she seeks out stability and hopes to mend the trust place upon her by her people. her coronation is currently put on hold, with the princess choosing to prioritise the needs of her people above all else.

02. post - twilight invasion / the princess trapped inside her castle : this verse focuses more on the game timeline where zelda surrenders to zant and is held captive within her castle. there are many plotholes and theories of what occurred during this time, but the theory of zelda being separated from her body due to her triforce response to zant / ganondorf's power will be present in this blog. therefore, the zelda that midna and link has met throughout the game was simply the manifestation of her spirit. her body remains trapped within the throne room, but her spirit maintains a corporal form that kept ganondorf's power at bay. it is only after she saves midna and transfers the triforce to her, that her spirit returns back into her body. she is awaken again once ganandorf finally regains his form.

03. childhood verse : self-explanatory but it follows zelda's strict and isolated upbringing. zelda is kept under the watchful eyes of her countless of tutors, who readily seeks to mold the young monarch into the previous zelda (oot). under their guidance, they advertised the ancestor zelda's return to further give legitimacy to the royal family. it was a publicity stunt, both politically and religiously speaking, it was further supported by the triforce birthmark the child possessed. zelda is overshadowed by her ancestor's legacy, and in order to keep up the lie, the child continues to act and behave as if she and her ancestor are one.

OFFICIAL POST : CHARACTERIZATION 01

a true study on : dark royalty ; greed ; intimidation ; fear

my ganondorf is a healthy mix of oot and tp . he is characterized as a cruel king , after forming his band of thieves that took over the gerudo valley . much of my writing with him will involve traditional royal views , and some emphasis on court habits and the like . this blog is more canon divergent than anything , really .

instead of hyrule castle being overrun completely by monsters , ganondorf takes over rule as king , using his influence of twilight and dark magic as a way to force his hand , especially with zant at the helm threatening the lives of hylians . this allows traditional court proceedings to take place , with ganondorf forcing his influence and power onto the upper class of castle town , which can trickle down to the middle and lower class .

since hyrule has a healthy mix of mountainous northern europe , and middle eastern imagery sprinkled throughout , i'm going to keep my characterization reminiscent of a mix of the two when considering what went on in court during the middle ages to the rennaissance .

Luck must not be shining on him today, because Nagito is very, very lost.

He’d set out for Cotes Fantasci early this morning, but though it is now nightfall he has yet to find the library he’s heard such enticing rumours of. The woods are beautiful, deep and luscious, but he has a feeling that some of its smaller inhabitants might be growing tired of his presence. ”Ah-!” For what must be the third time this evening, Nagito finds himself landing face-first in the dirt, having tripped over a tree root he’s almost certain wasn’t there a few moments before. Somewhere up in the trees, the pixies explode into raucous, chittering laughter. He sighs, not even bothering to stand up this time. Maybe I should have taken that talking fox’s offer after all, just to see what would happen. If only there were someone else around willing to talk to him- the giant butterflies don’t seem particularly conversational, and the mermaid he spotted in a stream earlier had startled and dipped out of view when he’d called out.

As if on cue, he suddenly hears something up ahead. Raising his head curiously to determine the source of the sound, he realises that he has fallen into a clearing, and that he is not alone.

“Wow! This is great- perhaps luck is on my side today!”

It was a stark change of pace from how the young man was normally treated. There was no pain this time; just a hand wave and a gesture towards a plush chair. Next to it was a small table with a plate lined with fresh fruits, meats, and a goblet of something that appeared to be wine.

Me and the Cule sat down and watched Willy’s Wonderland for V-day and it was everything I wanted from the film and more. Nicolas Cage is basically Doom Guy, a silent protagonist type with a checklist he performs with rote efficiency, including his 15 minute breaks mandated by the state (even demon slayers gotta Unionize!) There was a little homoerotic tension (then everyone died,) a heartfelt plea for police abolition, The Janitor (Nic’s credit for the film) utilizing both the martial arts of Bajiquan and Arthur Fonzarelli, and it has the only valid use of the song Freebird since 1975. You should give it a watch!

John Egbert is a normal boy who takes his roommate's estrogen as a prank. John still didn't know why he was stealing these pills. They weren't prescribed to him, and they lived up to their name as death mints, but he felt almost compelled...and Rose hadn't noticed yet that she’d been losing her meds at twice the normal rate.

John jumped as someone softly knocked at the door.

“John, are you almost done? It's time for me to take my hormones!”

Shit, it was Rose. John quickly double checked that the bottles were sealed before faux-washing his hands and opening the door.

“Sorry about that, all yours!” John said, gesturing grandly to the bathroom.

“No need for theatrics,” Rose said, sliding past John towards the pill bottles on the counter. “I’ll be in and out like a thief in the night.” She picked the bottles up and shook them before frowning slightly. “It seems they run out faster each month, if only to make me interact with Mother Dearest.”

“What does your mom have to do with hormones?” John asked nervously, watching Rose pop back the spironolactone expertly.

“Oh, she doesn’t trust the ‘bargain basement chemists and seedy pharmacists’ of the world, so she synthesizes my doses herself. It’s cheaper, if a little overbearing.”

John nodded as he watched her stick the estradiol… under her tongue?

“Oh this?” Rose said, noticing his quizzical expression. “If you stick estrogen under your tongue, it dissolves into the bloodstream and provides more bioavailability. You should try it sometime.”

“Wuh-” John sputtered, unable to come up with a response.

“Just kidding, of course.” Rose smiled. “You’re a cis man and as such don’t need hormones, right?” She watched, seemingly satisfied, as John nodded.

John snuck out of the bathroom, little blue pills under his tongue, and headed towards the kitchen. “Oh hey Wose,” he said as he waved at his roommate, drinking a glass of Orange Juice.

“Hey Jown,” Rose said mindlessly, barely seeming to be paying attention. “I was just thinking about an assignment I’m having some problems with.”

John swallowed deeply and tried limbering his tongue up through sheer willpower. “Oh, which one?”

“Well, aside from the male assignment I was so ingloriously given-” She chuckled at her own joke and eyed John as if expecting him to laugh along. “The essay Professor Moon gave us on the Practical Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Composition is frankly kicking my ass.”

John brightened up, spotting a chance to talk about something he actually knew something about. This was, in his eyes, a rarity, so he was happy to try and help Rose with the assignment.

A few minutes into the conversation Rose switched from rapt attention to concern, and when John stopped to ask why, Rose reached out to grab his glasses off his face.

“You’ve got a smudge, do you mind?” she asked.

John shook his head, but as Rose delicately removed the glasses they immediately fell out of her grasp and to the floor, cracking.

“Oh no!” John cried out, diving after the now ruined glasses. “My only pair!”

They worried over the glasses for a few minutes before Rose had an idea. “You’re nearsighted too, right?”

“Too?”

"Yeah I used to wear minus 3.3, now I just use contacts," Rose explained. "If your prescription is close to mine, I could lend you an old pair."

"Oh… that's convenient..." John said, suppressing his suspicion that Rose wasn’t only trying to help. "Hopefully the frames aren't too girly." He forced out a chuckle.

“Don’t worry about that John,” Rose said almost... mischievously? She began digging through a bag near her bedroom door. “Aha! These should fit you perfectly.” She smugly held out a pair of sky blue, delicate frames. “And they’re your color!”

“Ha, yeah, funny how that works out, huh?” John said, waiting for a returned laugh that never came. After an awkward moment, he accepted the glasses... and then tried them on. “These fit… surprisingly well actually.” He went into the bathroom and looked into the mirror. “I’m surprised. Your face is so much smaller than mine!”

“It’s really not, John.” Rose stood behind John. “It’s all about hair and makeup.”

“Oh that’s interesting, but... your hair is so nice I could never…” He stopped as Rose began carding her hand through his hair. “What are you doing?”

“Just demonstrating, John my dear.” Rose calmlypulled out a brush and some mysterious spray. “Sit still and let me work my magic.”

John decided not to push the issue and let her primp and comb his hair until she was finally done, and he didn’t look half bad. Weirdly feminine in a way he didn’t want to examine, but honestly quite good in a way he didn’t want to interrogate.

“Hey John, can I borrow you for a minute?” Rose called, rousing John from reading a textbook far too closely.

He stretched and popped his back as he opened his door. “Sure, what do you need, Rose?”

He jumped back as she held her wrist up to his face just outside his door. “You’re the perfect skin tone match. Would you mind trying on some makeup for me?

“Uh, sure, I guess I already promised,” John said sheepishly. “Why don’t you try it on yourself though?”

“Well, I figured we could have some bonding time. You don’t see the macho type to run away from makeup.”

John shrugged in agreement, though he was actually feeling pretty excited to see Rose’s magic after the Hair Incident.

“And I really want to practice my eyeliner and it’s easier on someone else.”

“Can’t argue with that I guess…” John said, only now realizing he was already in the bathroom. “Uh… where do I sit?”

“You can just sit on the toilet, This shouldn’t take too long.” She patted the seat and, once he’d sat down, began to work.

Aside from a few chidings about watching his lip and not flinching and an accidental brush against a surprisingly sensitive chest, the entire thing went smoothly. Well, smoothly enough. Rose looming over him definitely conjured up some surprising feelings, though he guessed tall goth girls were popular for a reason.

“Aaaaaand we’re done!” Rose called out with triumph. “Now, take a look at the pretty good if I say so myself results!”

John tentatively stood up and turned to the vanity mirror.

And he was flabbergasted.

There was a girl with a messy imitation of an expert coif, wearing stunning blue eyeliner that perfectly matched her glasses and her eyes both.

John had a lot of very mixed feelings right now. He was sure Rose was talking but he couldn’t repeat what she said if his life depended on it.

“I’ve gotta go Rose, I’ve got dinner in the oven!” he cried out as he rushed into his room and locked the door behind him.

Rose was sitting beside John on the couch. “John, I’ve got something to confess to you,” she said softly, laying her knitting down. “I think I might be a lesbian?”

“Oh.” John felt weirdly jealous and hurt and happy all at the same time. “That makes sense I guess.” Why was she telling him?

“Well, as I said, I think.” Rose licked her lips in something approaching but definitely not anticipation. “I was hoping, with your permission, to use you as something of an experiment.”

“Haha, sure, you gonna make out with me?” John laughed, though the laughter died out as Rose’s face remained serious. He hoped she couldn’t tell he was blushing, even under the blush he happened to be wearing.

“John, I’m serious. This is science.”

“S-sure, but I don’t know if-” John was cut off by Rose’s lips. He felt like he should be taking the lead but this was nice. It was also easily described as rote. He could tell Rose wasn’t really into it, and it made sense.

A few seconds later, Rose broke the kiss off and nodded. “That’s the control, now for the experiment.”

“The whah?” John wasn’t sure where this was going anymore.

“Well, I kissed a boy, and now I need to kiss a girl, and since there’s no girls around you’ll have to do!” Rose said this so matter of factly it was hard to argue. “Now pick a name. Joan?”

“June, but...” John shook his head, she was rapidly losing control of the situation. “Why would I pick a girl name?”

“Because, my dearest Junebug, for the purposes of this experiment, you are in fact a girl.” This was all the warning June got before Rose crashed into her, her blush from the nickname deepening as Rose kissed her in a way that easily eclipsed the previous kiss.

Rose’s tongue barely needed to brush June’s lips before her mouth was open, begging for more. Rose’s hands traced her hips, brushed her legs, and paused at her nipples before lightly massaging them-producing far more pleasure than they should, damn those hormones she was taking for absolutely no reason. After several minutes of heavy petting, Rose once again broke away, though this time looking far more disheveled.

“Well I think that settles it,June.”

June nodded exhaustedly.

“Wanna be my girlfriend?”

01. at what age did you start RPing?

Hmm... I believe around 15 / 16 ! In middle school though I did comic rps. Where me and my buddies would hand off paper between classes and continue a comic together! It was SO much fun. I didn't actually start rping online though until my sophomore year of high school. I saw a fun Ganondorf ask blog, and the rest is history!

02. do you RP anywhere else, other than tumblr?

Nope! Other than Discord, tumblr is my main place to rp.

08. did you have a muse you tried to play, but didn’t feel connected to?

Literally anything canon. I think the only canon muse I could actually write and feel confident would be Tsukiyomi Ikuto from Shugo Chara! Since he's a massive comfort character of mine + was a big impact on my childhood. I've had a url saved for 3 years now...

09. did you have muse you tried to play, but ended up dropping for various reasons? (the rpc wasn’t active, you lost interest, etc)

Kinda like the question above, anything canon! Way back in the day I wrote Cloudjumper, but eh! That didn't work out. I also played Gojira / Godzilla at @soregojira . But... there's only so much you can do with a massive monster. So I quickly got bored with it.

ABOUT THE MUSE ganondorf is the primary antagonist in the legend of zelda series of games. in his isola verse, he is taken from the legend of zelda: the windwaker, but is highly multiverse friendly as far as independent interactions go. far from social, he is a dark king both broody and wrathful. basic plotting is encouraged for interacting with this evil sorcerer.
