Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
one thing i haven't seen samuel dalton theorists mention is that they never actually caught him. by the time the players escape the greenroom and get to the game changer set, the bomb is still there, but samuel dalton is not.
they don't catch him, they don't stop him, they don't send him back in time or anything. they just kind of defuse the bomb and move on to the end of the game. he is not mentioned again.
i've seen many theories about samuel dalton being "back," but he didn't actually go anywhere, as far as we know.
I know it was because Grant got sick, I assume that is true, but it was a good move to have Zac be the spaghetti guy instead of grant. They all love Zac at dropout, he's everybody's friend. Grant is everybody's friend, but they would rip him apart on camera if it meant keeping him from spilling spaghetti on their podiums.
i too am curious as to why no one tried to stop sam breaking the camera to break the time loop
but i would like to propose the idea:
if they were to stop sam from kicking the camera, which would in turn break the loop and allow them to progress, the players would then get points for doing the wenis because the game would be able to continue as normal. but in order to stop sam, at least one of them would have to stop doing the wenis which would cost them the point
and i don’t think mike “oh you don’t like out of the box thinking?!?!” trapp, ify “all three of those duck points are mine” nwadiwe, and siobhan “bribe every person in the game” thompson would risk that point
Instead of having a SuperWhoLock trifecta, the modern online loser has a clusterfuck of interest that are always one degree of separation away from forming one large, dorkish singularity of online entertainment. The significant pockets of the cluster fuck are as follows:
Dropout TV
Critical Role
The McElroys
Polygon
Watcher
The Try Guys
Smosh
Starkid
There are likely other pockets in the clusterfuck, as well as semantic arguments to be had over which pockets overlap too much to count as single entities, or arguments over which pockets shouldn’t count as entities at all. There are bound to be discrepancies seeing as I pulled all of this information out of my ass.
With this in mind, take a look at my handy dandy poll. If you choose one of the numbered options feel free to specify in the tags, and add anything you think I missed :]
I did not expect that Game Changer post to blow up at all, and I also did not realize that this “Sam Reich has been replaced and/or possessed by Sam Dalton” theory has been going on for a while, and Deja Vu is only the latest, largest puzzle piece.
I’m increasingly enchanted by the idea of a season finale in which the cast finally realize what’s going on and have to work together using their wits, improv skills, assorted chekhov’s guns and hopefully the power of friendship, to save their friend and boss Sam Reich while Sam Dalton gloats at them, cackling, that he, Sam Dalton, has been here the whole time.
