Der Goldene Kreis ist fast ein "Muss", wenn man eine Island Rundreise macht. Der Thingvellir Nationalpark, der Gulfoss Wasserfall und die Geysire gehören dazu.

Kalandok tesóval Izlandon (végre)

Január 8. régóta be volt karikázva a naptáramban, aznap ugyanis végre meglátogatott Márti, és tíz! egész napig élvezhettem a társaságát. Ezek a fotók egy ilyen napon készültek, amikor ráadásul még az idő is jó volt.

Izlandon kirándulni nem mindig könnyű. Főleg télen. Főleg, ha az ember lányának jogosítványa sincs. De ezen a napon minden összejött, az egyik lakótársam csatlakozott hozzánk (értsd: hajlandó volt hordozni minket) és még a nap is kisütött. Varázslatos volt, mondom én.

Egy egésznapos programot sikerült szervezni néhány kilométerre a házunktól. Elsőként a szomszéd falu mellett levő hegy tetejére másztunk fel, ahol egy kráter tó van. Hihetetlen látvány volt a napfelkeltében.

Mintha a Jurassic Park forgatási helyszínén lettünk volna, a színek, a csend, a kilátás mind-mind varázslatos volt. A helyiek szerint télen néha teljesen befagy a tó, és azok, akik bemerészkednek a közepére, beláthatnak a kráter belsejébe.

A hegyről lefele menet megálltam lovakat fotózni. Egyszerűen nem tudom megunni őket.

A környékünkön nem sok étterem van, de amit eddig próbáltunk, azt mind nagyon szerettük. Ez Izland egyetlen gombafarmja, ahol egész évben termesztenek sci-fi körülmények között (egy alkalommal bevittek megmutatni, és zseniális volt, a természet és a technológia csodálatos találkozása). Nem mellékesen tartozik hozzá egy étterem is, ahol bármilyen mennyiségben lehet gombalevest enni (mást is, de mi mindig leragadunk a levesnél).

Ebéd után átmentünk a Titkos Lagúnába emészteni. Az a hely továbbra is az egyik kedvencem (az első találkozásunkról itt olvashattok) és elégedetten néztem, ahogy a többiek is elengedik magukat a forró hullámok között. Mártinál külön pluszpontot szereztek a “puha” kavicsok a medence alján, és hogy nem volt sós a víz. A napot fagyival zártuk egy másik kedves helyen, egy közeli farmon.

Nem győzöm elégszer mondani, mennyire szeretem ezt az országot, és fantasztikus volt elvinni Mártit a kedvenc helyeimre. Már írtam arról, milyen új dimenziókat nyitott meg előttem az egyedül utazás (az egyedül világgá menésről nem is beszélve), de azért mégiscsak van valami a közös élményekben. Mártival még mindig hatalmasakat nevetünk a spanyolországi kirándulásunkon (jönnek a blogbejegyzések - ígérem).

Gletscherhöhle und Wasserfälle in Island

I never rent cars while away. The thought of driving on unknown roads where everything is written in a foreign language is too stressful for me. But to explore a country with a landscape like Iceland, a car is necessary. I headed southeast toward the coast, just before Vík. The two lane highway, Route 1, is the main highway for the entire country and can get pretty interesting. Passing lava fields, waterfalls, fallen rocks and steaming hot springs was surreal but became apparent it was the norm for Icelanders.

My first stop was the Secret Lagoon, a hot spring in Flúðir, centered on a farm and dating back to 1891, making it the oldest pool in Iceland. Warm and relaxing with few guests and the occasional geyser. I don’t recommend going if your body shy, everyone must bath naked together before entering for hygienic reasons.

Snacks are available inside and, despite still being off peak season, there is a fish and chips stand outside the entrance. Not sure if it’s open year round but certainly in spring and summer. The fish is fresh, made to order and delicious!
