Damon's love and support of black music and artists sets the standard for other white artists. He uses his privilege and platform to uplift marginalized voices without once taking credit from those artists. 2/3rds of Gorillaz collaborators are POC. In 1993 Damon called mainstream rock racist. Saying that it ignore the black creators of it in favor of white artists. Called it xenophobic and anti black. He refused to play LiveAid because of a lack of black artists. Attention white musicians with huge platforms, this is how you be anti racist. Privilege used for good.

3, 5, & 9 for the music asks
3. A song you’d choose to introduce someone to your favorite genre
"Songs from the wood", by Jethro Tull. Folk prog rock distilled into 4:53 minutes.
5. A song you think most of your followers won’t have heard before
Hmmmm, here I am, trying to guess the demographics of my followers....
"Tango", by L.E.J. These girls went viral in 2016 on youtube, but I'm pretty sure most people didn't follow them as I did, so I'm going to guess most of my followers don't remember the trio of French girls who sang with a cello as only background music.
9. A song in a language you don’t speak
"Bissa", by Fatoumata Diawara. The song is in Bombara and I don't understand a single word of it.
