The Significance of Father's Day
The praise of a father often goes unsung, and the sacrifices he makes for his family might go unnoticed. Fathers are not appreciated enough, as we tend to expect that fulfilling their obligations is all they do.
However, there is more to their role than meets the eye. They face struggles, yet they rarely share them, fearing they might be perceived as weak. As we grow older, we begin to understand these complexities.
Nevertheless, like everyone else, fathers deserve recognition, and that is why the commemoration of Father's Day holds such great significance.
Many men are adept at hiding their pain, tears, and hardships. They have been conditioned to be strong throughout their lives, leaving them unsure of how to express vulnerability or ask for help.
While they possess emotions, only a few have a safe space to express them. It often feels as though their worth is predominantly tied to their ability to provide for their families, and a father who falls short in this aspect is sometimes undervalued.
Father's Day offers an opportunity for fathers to be seen, acknowledged, and celebrated. One day is not enough to fully appreciate the countless sacrifices a good father makes throughout his lifetime.
However, it serves as a memorial that we will continue to cherish. If it takes this special day and numerous ordinary ones to remind our fathers how much we love and cherish them, then let us embrace it.
The term "father" extends beyond the biological progenitor. It encompasses the male figures in our lives who provide, protect, lead, correct, guide, and encourage us as we navigate our paths.

The University of Dad: Dads are like having a personal college education at home—an institution known as the University of Dad. Each dad has their own unique teaching methods, akin to different courses and textbooks. Their nurturing style is more like playful roughhousing, and they are known for their infamous "dad jokes."
Words of Wisdom: Although calling their advice "words of wisdom" might be an overstatement, growing up with a dad is like being exposed to a more straightforward and blunt version of Socrates. There's no room for pondering or contemplation—things are presented matter-of-factly. Their assertiveness gives their seemingly nonsensical statements a sense of logic. About 50 shells were found at the scene, and bullets entered through the windows of nearby homes, CBS reported.
The suspect fled in a black van, police said. No arrests were made.
Elder Caldwell, 36, told Fox News on Saturday he wants justice.
"What I'm looking for right now are the police details as to who killed my brother. [My little brother never had a chance," he said.
"I would never want to see street justice or violence against people who even killed my little brother. But I want them brought to justice," he added.
Crime in Chicago — which Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot once urged them to strip police of funds before retiring — rose 34% in 2022, according to the latest figures from the Chicago Police Department.
According to statistics, violent crime - including murder, felony sexual assault, aggravated assault and robbery - is up 10% this year compared to 2021.
Other blue cities across the country have seen similar trends.
According to statistics, violent crime has increased by almost 9% in Los Angeles, 12% in Washington DC and 25.8% in New York.
Less than a week before his brother's fatal shooting, Caldwell shared a tearful text exchange they shared on Twitter, in which the teenager wished him a happy Father's Day.
"Happy Father's Day big bro, you don't have physical kids, but I've always seen you as the closest thing to a father figure," the teen wrote. "You have taught me so much and for that I will always be grateful and proud of the things you have done."
Elder Caldwell said in the June 19 tweet, "My little brother has never met his dad and devastating as it is, I thank God he chose me as his older brother/father."
