Witch Tools | Crystals
“Crystals and stones are used in rituals and spells for their energy and corresponding properties.”

Tumblr media
Ball/Sphere: Crystal that is shaped into a ball from a larger piece of crystal…quartz crystals rarely occurs naturally as a sphere. The Sphere is associated with Harmony, scrying, even energy all around.
Crystal Pyramid: Manifestation, intently focused energy. prosperity.
A crystal shaped like a pyramid, it has four equal triangular sides that meet to a point with a flat square base. It’s effective for amplifying energy. *Egyptian used the pyramids to send the pharaoh's soul straight to the gods. Crystal Generators and Obelisks are 2 shapes that are often confused with one another, just count the number of sides. A generator has six equal sides and an Obelisk has four. Generators, Obelisks and Pyramids are great shapes to direct/amplify energy. Better used in crystal grids, as it will amplify/boost energy.
Crystal Wands: Healing and rituals, moving/directing energy.
Crystal wands have many uses, they can be used for massage therapy (eg a massage wand), acupressure and reflexology. They can also be used to direct energy in a certain direction, draw negative energy away from you and to activate crystal grids. Crystal wands can be used for chakra healing.
Crystal Eggs: Balance, Fertility, healing
The pointed end of an egg shaped crystal is often used by practitioners of acupressure, reflexology and massage. Similar to spheres, crystal eggs are a great shape to hold whilst meditating. Crystal eggs represent fertility, birth and new beginnings.
Cluster: A group of crystals growing together having many points and sharing the same base clusters rapidly radiate energy in all directions. The cluster radiates energy, meditation and unity.
Crystal Cube: consolidates energy, grounding and meditation, connects to the energy of the earth.
Tumbled: Gentle, constant energyRaw: Strong, Sporadic, pure energy.Double Terminated/Twin: Receives and emits energy transmits informationPalm: Grounding, healing, “Worry stone.”
Isis: Feminine energy, healing emotional, hurt and distress.Geode: Amplifies, conserves and releases energy, internal healing.
Crystal Heart: Sends love across time and space.Crystal Points, Generators and Obelisks: Energy amplifier, six facets
There are 219 Crystals [And I do not have the time or energy to go over ALL of them when we Wiccans can’t use/afford that many, and so we’ll only cover the basics/most used Crystals.
So other than Shapes that signify the ‘power’ of the crystal, what about a specific use? So here is a list of most common crystals that I have seen, that was recommended by other witches or popped up in my readings.
Amethyst | Azurite  | Ametrine  | Aquamarine  |  Agate  |  Amazonite  | Bloodstone  |  Beta  |  Black Obsidian  |   Bismuth  | Chinese writing rock, chrysoprase, Chrysoprase, Citrine, Clear Quartz,  Dream Quartz, Danburite, diamond, Dalmation Stone Fluorite. | Garnet. Herkimer Diamond | Hematite | Jasper | Jade | Kyanite | Kunzite Lepidolite/Lapis Lazuli, Labradorite Malachite | Nephrite | Opal | Onyx | Pink Opal  |   Peridot  |  Rose Quarts  |  Rhodonite, Ruby | Sardonyx  |  Selenite, Sapphire, Sunstone, Smoky Quartz, Scolecite, seraphinite | Topaz | Tigers Eye  |  Tourmaline  |  Zoisite
*Clear Quartz: A substitute in case you can’t use a specific crystal for an intention or spell.
What you NEED to KNOW!
*Need to KNOW
Be VERY careful with crystals. Not ALL of them can be in direct sunlight and not ALL can be placed in water. Some Crystals are sun/water types and if you need to charge them or use them make sure you know which is which!
Crystals that will dissolve or have a chemical reaction when exposed to water. ____________________________________________________________

Arcobella/Cherub Lore#1- The Four Types of Arcobella Crystals
Hey ya'll! Hope you're all having a great 2024 so far. I wanted to share some Arcobella lore with you today. Because this continent was all I could think about the past few weeks. Starting with something that I came up with very recently: The Arcobella Crystals!
As the title implies, Arcobella crystals are a type of gem/mineral that can be found only in Arcobella. They are divided into four separate categories based off their shape, cut/facet, colors, and what abilities they boost. The crystal will only reveal itself to the cherub destined to have it when they deem themselves worthy and ready. And the type of crystal they get depends on the cherub's abilties.
Tumblr media
Offense Crystals are for cherubs who are more combative in their use of their magic. Those who are assigned this crystal see a significant boost in their fighting abilities. And become more durable and stronger heavy hitters. Offense crystals have a hexagonal facet and are typically red, yellow, and orange in color.
Tumblr media
Defense Crystals are for cherubs who's magic is more focused on protection and security. Those who are assigned this crystal will be able to create more powerful barriers and shields, as well as seeing a boost in their offensive skills for self defense. Defense crystals have a triangular facet and are typically blue, purple, and green in color.
Tumblr media
Evasion Crystals are for cherubs who use their magic for more secretive work (Ex: Espionage). Those who are assigned this crystal get a boost in their agility, an increase in speed, and the ability to create realistic illusions and disguises. Evasion crystals are diamond shaped and are typically black, white, and gray in color.
Tumblr media
Healing Crystals are for cherubs who specialize in tending to the sick and wounded. Those who are assigned this crystal gain access to all knowledge of different potions, medicines, etc. As well as unlocking more healing abilities from their own magic. Healing crystals are circle shaped like pearls and opals, and they're typically pink, peach, and brown in color.
Tumblr media
That's it for today. Hope y'all are in for some more Arcobella content. Because I got plenty more material to work with.

reverently, deliberately
For FFXIVWrite Day 6, “ring”. Frydlona/[ShB spoilers], pre-Endwalker, spoilers through patch 5.5, ~700 words. Late due to some nonsense at work, but still within the Week One amnesty period! I might expand it later, but this was a real “get it done in two days or else two years” thing.
A promise that is also a hope.
Frydlona almost always carries a sketchbook for her design ideas. For a project, she’ll rip the pages out and keep them in a case, and what’s left is just thoughts she’s had, things that might be fun or challenging to make, things that might turn into a project if she needs them to.
She sketches all kinds of things, often ones she’ll never get around to making. A crown made out of the lavender blooms of Lakeland; vambraces and pauldrons gilded and carved with flames to be worn with an embroidered black cloak; a workbench with drawers nested inside drawers; a gown with a trailing skirt like seafoam; a rocking chair with flowers that look like they’re growing out of cracks in the wood itself, alchemically preserved.
A ring, wrought like a white mage’s cane, with leaves curling around a rough-cut gem.
She scribbles it out the first time she catches herself drawing it. She doesn’t need to make such a thing.
*
They’ve been reeling from one crisis to another, with hardly time for breath, and now the threat of the Final Days hangs overhead. It’s too fast, and Frydlona knows it; fear is a dangerous spice for emotion. People think they fall in love during wartime, and if they’re lucky enough to live, they have to live with whatever choices they made.
All in all, she’s known Raha for less than two years, and some of that was years ago. They’ve done none of this properly, or reasonably; they’ve raced forward in freefall, and it frightens her how much she doesn’t want to stop.
*
Some nights she wakes up with nightmares, and some nights Raha does. Either way it keeps her awake after, staring into the darkness overhead and trying to let the solid warmth of him in her arms settle her.
She thinks about the sea of stars, the sunless sea—the glitter and blaze of uncountable points of light, the swoop of Thaliak’s river through the darkness—and wonders. She couldn’t cut diamonds small enough, not and keep their facets and their sparkle, but powdered hematite, maybe… no.
*
She sketches a ring with metal curled like a breaking wave, wrapping over a pearl—she could find a pearl, and the challenge of finding a good enough one would be half the point—and another engraved with palm leaves and massive flowers, the kind of things that grow around Cliffhide. Another ring with vines and leaves: sun-warmed La Noscean grapes, a tiny cluster of cabochon amethysts, and an orange in the form of an orange garnet.
Her glaives don’t make a good design for a ring—too jagged, smooth them as she might—and no more does Mor Dhona. Raha had given her a pair of Allagan earrings he’d found in the Tower, but she’s never been comfortable with the harsh lines of Allagan metalwork. Besides, that’s him, not her.
She keeps coming back to the cane, though. Gerolt made her some lovely weapons while she was working with the Bozjan Resistance, and she’s always liked adding natural elements to jewelry. She could make it beautiful, and it would certainly have meaning, more than just that it was where she’d come from—it would be where they’re going, together, from here on.
But it’s too soon, she reminds herself, even as she adds the final leaf to the sketch. The gemstone buds from the wood itself, framed by leaves and accented by opening blossoms.
A white stone, unaspected, for the center. She’s tempted to use opal, but conjurers tend toward clear crystals; diamond might be more easily understood. Aquamarine for the buds, for the sunlit ocean she grew up with after all. Rose gold for the bark and electrum for the leaves…
*
It’s still too soon, Frydlona tells herself, even once she’s set the last gem in place. The metal is blood-warm in her hand.
She wraps it, carefully, and puts it in a box, and wedges the box deep into one of her pockets, and then buttons the pocket closed. She’ll just keep it with her, so that as soon as it isn’t too soon she’ll have it ready.

> [ A shaky camera focuses on a blurry set of moving shapes above the surface of the New York Harbor, nothing to be seen but splashing until the image sharpens. A violet-skinned tiefling comes into view, uncloaked but dressed in black and gripping a tall, silvery staff, spiraled at the top into a large, shining blue spherical crystal framed in amethysts and a starlike ring. They appear to be floating several feet above the water some distance away from the huge sea serpent, silver scales glinting a similar shade to Rook’s staff as its long coils twist through the water. It rushes towards them, tons of violent aquatic beast aiming to snap them right up. With a flash of blue light from the crystal, the wind whips up around the pair, sending Rook’s sea-blue scarf blowing dramatically around them, and the water churns beneath them both into an increasingly violent vortex. Halfway through its lunge the creature is dragged back towards the center of the whirlpool, and emits a bubbling screech in protest. As it starts to try and writhe its way free, the sorcerer makes a complicated motion with the end of their staff; with another intense blue glow; from the water, shedding spray off of its form as it materializes at a size similar to the serpent, rises a shimmering dragon covered in faceted white and transparent crystal scales, shining like opal in the misty morning light. The sea serpent screeches at its sudden rival and the dragon roars right back with its toothy jaw open wide enough to expel what looks like rings of heat lines, curved light in the air that moves in a cone heavily impacting the serpent and much of the water around it. A massive spray shoots into the air on contact with the harbor, concealing the fight for a few moments with sparkling mist, until the view is once again clear, and the crystalline dragon can be seen gripping the serpent in its claws, lifting it partially above the water to further expose it and getting bitten once in the process, though it doesn’t seem to phase the magically conjured creature. Once it’s somewhat restrained, stunned from the breath of pure force leveled against it, the tiefling sorcerer raises their staff once more to point carefully at the center of mass, as much as that can be a thing for a serpentine form. Around the amethyst-studded star at the head crackles violet flashes of light, gathering up into a point before firing in a massive bolt directly at and partially through the huge beast, cauterizing the burned-out hole behind it. The serpent screams and goes limp, though still lives and shifts weakly. Once it stops its struggling, the dragon reaches down for Rook, and they step onto their summon’s hand, to be carried towards their opponent. Holding the staff aside, they reach out their gloved hand, this time, towards its heaving scales, and violet sparks flow through their fingers into its body. The effect is unapparent, but they’ve healed some of the internal injuries left by their dragon’s force breath, enough for the creature to live. The dragon gently sets it down in the water, and, both a little more lively and having thoroughly learned its lesson, the sea serpent darts away through the water, across and out of the harbor, it’s sharp fins cutting through the surface until it disappears. Rook just stands there, watching it go, until a few people cheer from the shore and their horned head whips around to finally notice the crowd, as the video ends. ]

Our Precious
Tumblr media
Everyone loves to have something decorative about them. It could be a brooch, a certain set of earrings, a specific hat, a universal jacket, or even just a signature color or pattern. To know you are able to be picked out of a crowd or have something that makes you “you” to someone else, it’s a great feat and pleasure. So for those who like items of a shinier persuasion… Birds of Valhalla has something special in store for you, or your loved one who does.
Tumblr media
Hands get everywhere. Hands get dirty, scuffed, roughed, scraped, burnt, smashed, crushed, crimped, and everything else. Even though hands do a lot of work, they still get some of the best things too. They get to hold another person, show you care, and are said to lead to the heart’s intent and the life you’ve led and will lead. Soft hands “haven’t worked a day in their life” while rough hands “are hard workers and sturdy” all the while jobs and times are changing. The old sayings like that don’t work anymore, now it’s all about how you present yourself. Many people talk with their hands, gesturing and emphasizing while describing things and just expressing as much as they can through their hands. And something that always catches people’s attention is jewelry. On these busy workers of our bodies we place the most important of jewelry pieces sometimes: rings. A ring can show that you’re in a serious relationship, that someone has promised you their world, or that you truly are their one and only. A simple ring can speak volumes and just like a picture is worth a thousand words, a ring can be worth a million. They’re worth the “I love you”s and “I need you”s. They’re worth the “You make me better”s and the “I can’t do this alone”s. Rings speak to so many people that what you make, where you wear it, and what stones are in it add to the story.
Tumblr media
If you’ve been around Birds of Valhalla a while, you know our CEO makes sure to carry some of the best crystals on the market. She goes out of her way with the crystal shoppers to make sure you have the best selection to pick from with her crystal lives and the crystals that top her soaps. But what you may not know, is that she expects the same thing from the gems she buys. Yes. She buys gemstones from lapidaries, people who cut gems into the facets or cabochon (rounded or domed smooth top) shapes. And she buys these gems to make special items for those people interested in having a custom ring or pendant made. When you purchase one of these custom pieces, you work with Debra and select the stone, the metal, the setting, and any extra details you like.
Tumblr media
So far, customers that have bought this listing have made some beautiful pieces. Even the pieces the jeweler sends that Deb created just to have in the shop have been so well received. From black opals to peridot, to garnet and tanzanite, to ametrine and labradorite, you can have your dream piece of jewelry made just for you. And since these are one of a kind pieces, you will have your own piece of Birds of Valhalla. When you want this done, you’ll need to do a down payment, and you can give Debra a budget to work in when it comes to the stone and setting. With the design details hammered out in the early conversations and planning stages, the CEO sets off to find the best stone for you, get it matched with the setting and metal you choose, and then get it to you in a custom made box. You can choose between sterling silver and 14 karat white or yellow gold for the rings and pendants. When you choose your stone, you choose the cut of the shape: pear or teardrop, princess or square, round, emerald or rectangle, cushion or “rounded” edge square, oval, marquise or two pointed, trillion or triangle, or maybe even heart shaped. Not every stone can be cut into every shape, so it’s best to come with multiple shapes you want for your pendant or ring and make sure you have the budget for some of these stones. You need to think about the four C’s of diamonds when you’re shopping for any gemstone. If you don’t know the four C’s, let me tell you the secrets.
Tumblr media
When you go shopping in a jewelry store, it’s best if you have an idea in mind. This way, when the associate comes over and tries to make you buy something bigger and more expensive, you can fire back with your own questions. The Gemological Institute of America wants everyone to know about the four C’s of stone buying: color, cut, clarity, carat. Every stone goes through different hues and shades on a color chart. Sapphires range from black to bright blue, green, and pink. Rubies can be pink all the way to a blood red. The color for each gem factors into price a lot more than you may initially think when you walk into the store. The way the stone is cut also plays a major factor as well. If the cut isn’t right, you won’t get the best sparkle because light won’t bounce around inside of it very well and some shapes are hard to achieve in certain stones. Clarity is the thing you hear people talk about quite often. If you’ve shopped for stones before and heard “VVS” or “IF” they’re talking about how clear the stone is inside. Every crystal is able to have these different materials inside of it called inclusions. Emeralds are known for having a lot of inclusions so the clearer the emerald, the more expensive it is. The same goes for most gems. The more flawless you get, the more the price usually goes up. The scale ranges from Flawless to Included and tells you just how much other stuff will be in your jewel. Finally, you need to think about carat. This isn’t the size of the stone, it’s how much it weighs. One carat of diamond is a different size than one carat of sapphire or labradorite. This is why jewelers use carat weight instead of size. This means they can charge based on the gem material and get the most bang for your buck.
Now I know this is a lot to take in, but don’t worry about it all. You’ll have someone who is there with you to help you design this special piece of jewelry every single step of the way. You control the budget and you have the final say. Right now, if you wanted to go and see a few pieces the CEO has created herself to get some inspiration, you can see four rings here. On the site there is a 2.2 carat peridot in 14kt white gold, a watermelon tourmaline in yellow gold, and two amethysts in the 14kt white gold. The amethysts are priced differently based on that carat weight of the stone, so remember that when you’re designing your own ring. These jewelry pieces come in all whole sizes so make sure you know how to size your rings. And remember, jewelry speaks just like pictures. Opal Themis
Tumblr media
The floor now open to female teachers, Opal eventually wore Crowley down to allow her to teach a small, but powerful facet of magic, amplification of magic through physical movement. Not many people take it very seriously and simply call her a dance teacher. Opal was raised in a home where one should always speak on their strong opinions and never let anyone change them, in her case she has a strong sense of justice and how people should be treated. Malleus felt the jabbing of Cupid's arrow in his chest not long after locking eyes with Ms Themis, and once they actually became a couple, they never had the intention of letting each other go. Although submissive, Malleus keeps her in a high position of power, calling her Princess, or Goddess as he carefully tends to her. (Though in dragon form that can be a challenge)
