Betony was the second child born to King Uther and his wife Ygraine. She was the twin sister of Arthur Pendragon, but her birth was unexpected (and likely unwanted) and her mother died in childbirth. Her father would always resent her for simply being born because he blamed her for being the reason that his beloved wife died. In reality, Ygraine’s death was nothing more than the price of Uther’s deal with Nimueh. Arthur and Betony were both the result of that deal, but there was something different about Betony’s birth. Unbeknownst to her father or anyone else in her family, Betony was actually given to Uther as a “gift” from Nimueh. Arthur was the true result of their deal as the rightful heir that King Uther had pleaded for. Betony, on the other hand, was born to serve as a lesson for him. Her very birth and presence within the family was meant to upturn the Pendragon bloodline, and it is believed that Nimueh placed Betony like a curse on their family. Betony’s own existence was unfortunately not free from Nimeuh’s meddling hand and she was forever cursed to be hated and ignored by her father. Betony’s magic is then either an unintentional result of Nimueh’s curse or a purposeful gift from the sorceress to further punish King Uther. Whatever the truth behind Betony’s birth may be, the fact remains that she was born to be the very thing that her father despised.

Despite all this darkness that surrounded Betony’s birth, there was still one light in her life: her brother. The two were best friends, inseparable since birth and unfailingly loyal to one another. They were opposites in many ways, from appearance to personality to interests, but they never failed to get along and Betony would forever be thankful for her brother’s constant presence in her life. Were it not for Arthur and her close relationship with him, Betony would have felt completely and utterly alone in the palace. Arthur provided her a shoulder to cry on and defended her from their father the best that he could. Despite being only several minutes older than her, he readily took on the role of a protective older brother. However, as close as the two were, her magic was the one thing that Betony never shared with her brother. At a young age, she started to realize that strange things happened around her and that magic could be the only explanation. She was terrified of what would happen if her family ever found out, so she kept it a secret from everyone. It was already painfully clear that Uther preferred Arthur, so she worried that the fact she was his daughter would not be enough to save her if her father ever did find out the truth.

Until Merlin arrived in Camelot, Betony was sure that this was a secret she would have to take to her grave. Then, one day as she was walking through the palace, she was suddenly struck by the sense of some powerful magic force. She wandered the entire palace for hours before giving up and going to seek out Gaius for advice. The man had always been kind to her and, at times, felt more like a father than her own. She intended to only stay for a few minutes, but then Merlin stepped into Gaius’s chambers after her and the magic presence hit her with full force. Unable to help herself, she blurted out that she knew Merlin had magic and then, in a desperate attempt to stop Merlin’s panic, announced that she did too. After that day, they became friends and learned how to deal with their abilities together. And then, almost without realizing it, Betony found herself falling in love with Merlin.

- all she wanted to do was make jewelry, which her mother considered a waste of her mind. thea, on the other hand, considered it a waste of her talent. they became slightly estranged once she began apprenticing under a man named lysander pendragon (which wasn't his real last name, but he was rather fond of king arthur stories).

- you might think, oh no, the jewelry fucks are the first to die in the apocalypse. you would be incorrect because they're both feral and thea is good with a blade and a shotgun (thanks dorian)

- speaking of dorian, they grew up as childhood rivals (though their rivalry grew to adoring friendship... eventually). they supported each other, and when things went to hell... well. they were still there for each other.

- unlike sarika. sarika got married to some rich fuck and fucked off to some rich english apocalypse compound and told thea she wasn't worth it to take her with her. this might have been after a poorly defended walker attack that killed some people - including Lysander. Thea had to rekill him. bitch.

- that caused trauma. it was neat.

- thea has a few half siblings that are about 9, 11, and 13. (ages may vary a little)

- well, getting involved with the crows was an accident involving a molotov cocktail, comments about outrageous eyebrows, and an eventual agreement to help break matthias helvar out of the ice court prison.

- and, well, okay she didn't do it for blonde whacko she didn't know. she wanted to see dorian. but you know what, /whatever/ she was still loyal.

**CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY:**

Born to Uther Pendragon, the King of Camelot, Arthur grows up in a world where magic is outlawed and considered dangerous. He grows up in the royal court, surrounded by nobles and knights. As a child, he receives rigorous training in combat and learns the principles of chivalry, preparing him for his future role as king.

His real journey begins when he meets Merlin, a young sorcerer who becomes his loyal friend and confidant. Initially, Arthur sees Merlin as his moronic servant, often teasing and testing him. the frells have long been known for spawning adventurers and big tough men. as such, when claudia was born first before percival, there was divided attention between their parents. anton frell wanted his son to take over the title when he passed but even as a young boy percy could tell he didn't want to be like his father or those before him. percy doesn't think the frell line is a curse or anything but he does believe it should be put in its place. he spent nearly his entire life living as if he would never be baron since claudia spent her entire life preparing for it.

when claudia fell pregnant, percy was somewhat disdainful. however, when she revealed that she wanted to be like their mother and raise someone in a loving family, henry could hardly fault the woman. he was proud of his siblings and he was always respectful of claudia's wishes to stay unwed, to keep her power hers alone. it left percy free to travel as he wished, learn about selkies & werewolves & vampires, he could do whatever he pleased really. when he accident happened, percy was thousands of miles away. he barely made it back in time for funeral. suddenly the weight he'd always avoided was on his shoulders. percival agreed to stay as baron, but he promised that as soon as nephew was old enough to take the title, he would pass it on and continue with his travels.

She was born in the midst of war between the Celtic Britons and the Anglo-Saxons, of her true parents we know not, but she was found by Merlin during The Battle of Badon, as a child, fighting. And was taking to Arthur, who was horrified that a child was fighting his wars and promised she never had to fight again, she was taking in by Merlin and became his assitant and apprentice (even though she did not possess any magical talent at this point)

And in this life she never fought again, she lived a completely normal life, she got married and had a kid, and everything was perfect until an Anglo-Saxon noble saw her, and decided she was for him. He found her alone and threatened to burn her village to the ground, to destroy everything she loved if she didn’t go with him.

Already centered on breaking her curse, worked on her spells until The Black Death came and she couldn’t turn a blind eye, made the most healing spells during this time, but quickly found out her demon could also turn people against her, and even was burned as a witch even when all the people that she saved protested.

Ever the beautiful young lady, was noticed by Henry the VIII, who tried to make her his lover, even if married to Catherin of Aragon at the time, but she did not yield to the British, and pronounced the words that led to her perdition: I only kneel in front the ones who fought for Wales. And the demon compelled them to kill her.

Henry the VIII passed the acts that tried to kill the welsh language.

Pre Hogwarts

And we come to Angelique, the only one born under pure magical blood, and the only one who has survived an attack from her demon, just losing a leg in return.

She didn’t want to go to Hogwarts at first, but figured she wouldn’t lose anything trying and at least would learn a thing or two, just missed a couple of years doing rehabilitation from the trauma of her leg being ripped off of her.

  Personality

Open-Minded: She’s fairly liberal for a Victorian lady, with a “none of my bussiness” sort of attitude when people go outside of social norms or traditions, especially if they’re not hurting anyone.

Compassionate: She didn’t expend all this centuries becoming a highly powerful healer for nothing, she saw too many people die in the wars, and she saw a lot of people die under the plages, and she couldn’t just stay there, the love for her people has made her last so long and she’s not giving up on them.

Passionate and loyal to her values, but tired: Highly conscientious     and ethical, with a strong sense of right and wrong, ever the teacher, the crusader and the advocate for change, for making things better. Only     wavering on the basis of being tired of getting brutally murdered time and time again, feeling the clock ticking while her doom approaches. But even at her worse, at the end she can’t help her desire to be good, her integrity is too strong.

Secretive and reclusive – While yielding many insights into her surroundings, her surroundings are ironically considered an intrusion on her thoughts. This is especially true with people, she’s quite shy in     social settings, and scared if she makes strong bonds again they will miss her soon. Even close friends struggle to get into Logicians’ hearts and minds.

Short tempered and grumpy: Maybe it’s the way she feels her time running out, but it has made her quite impatient and insensitive if she thinks someone´s wasting her valuable time, she has stuff to worry about so don’t bother her with stupid problems, even though begrudgingly she will help you.

Prideful: She’s an extremely powerful witch and she knows it, there’s very few people that can stand in her way, and she won’t let them.

Stern - Kay had always been the man who lets little escape. His emotionless facade is a farce, something to show in the way of feeling. He has lost many things in his life, but the people he cares about will not be one of them. Kay refuses to let people know because if they know then they can be taken away.

Parental - As the eldest of the Triggs' biological children, Kay was always around when there were newer kids coming into the fold. He and his sisters were well-versed in the face if sibling-esque duties to these kids, so it was no wonder that he took to it like a duck to water. Many of the fosters his parents and, later, just his father would bring into their home often looked to Kay as their true brother.

Loyal - Despite his grouchy demeanor and his generally poor attitude, Kay is one of the most loyal people one may ever have in their lives. He's Arthur's right hand at the company and a loving uncle to his niece and nephew. His family is what's important to him.

BACKSTORY::

Kay had never wanted a sibling. In fact, he'd never, ever wanted them. But they came anyway, first from his parents and, later, from the system that had displaced them. He got over it, eventually, but when he was a boy of no more than ten, his life would revolve around whatever foster kid walked into his life from that point forward.

When he was fifteen, Arthur Pendragon worked his skinny little ass into his life. He never left. Kay was stuck with the kid and, despite the fact that he'd hit a point in his life where he didn't know what he wanted or where he wanted to be, he knew that he needed to do right by this kid. He took him under his wing and, ever since, they've been inseparable.

Kay doesn't know much about the business Arthur runs outside of Pendragon Incorporated, preferring to keep to the side he understands: providing protection armor for the men and women who served their country. Like Kay. However, that doesn't mean he agrees with it and, often, the two can be heard having fights when it's particularly bad. Regardless, Kay loves his brother and wants what's best for him, even if it is a sound wallop or two to the skull.

His time with the Marines shaped him into the man he is today. His injury and summative discharge, complete with a few markings of rank and a purple heart, are things that he holds close to his chest but dear to his heart. He doesn't speak about it much, but if you knew him then, he will talk about it with you, after a pint or two.

WANTED PLOTS::

Alpha/Bravo/Delta - When Kay was in the Marines, he and these muses were like three peas in a pod. They fought for their country and their families as much as they did one another when they were overseas. When Kay was injured, they were the first people at his side. When he was discharged and they were, too, they followed him. These muses can be his best friends or they can be something more, but whatever the case, Kay would lay down his life for them. 

Big Brother is Watching - Kay is used to being the father figure, the brother figure, the person people need to look to in order to feel safe.
