It's great to have Her Majesty here because she does really take an interest in the authors, and even if she can't come in previous years she's always made sure that she sees them, whether it was at St James's Palace. And so when we found out that she was going to come - we'd sort of assumed that she wouldn't, just, you know, when the Queen died and she became the Queen Consort, we sort of assumed this might be one of the things that she had to let go, but no, she's here, so it's great. She enjoys being here. I think it's one of those things where, although there is obviously formality around it, there is also a degree of of informality that she really appreciates.

Bookclub Reads 2023
I joined a bookclub!
I have wanted to join an IRL bookclub for the longest time and finally found one in my local area which looked so welcoming. My hope for joining a bookclub was to be able to chat with other likeminded bookworms like myself and ultimately come across books I usually wouldn’t stumble upon. The #Bookvent Calendar 2023: Day Eleven

#Bookvent – Celebrating my top reads of 2023
My eleventh #bookvent selection is by an author who never fails to deliver the chills, someone who takes a very plausible situation and amplifies the fears of the everyday until it becomes a thorough engrossing and thought provoking read. This latest offering is based in a not too distant future, where climate change has reached catastrophic levels,…

Today it is my absolute pleasure to share my thoughts on One, the brand new speculative thriller from Eve Smith. I do love the way in which the author twists the world in which we live, so couldn’t wait to read this book. A huge thank you to publisher Orenda Books for furnishing me with an early copy, and to Anne Cater or Random Things Tours for inviting me to join the blog tour. Here’s what it’s…
