I’m reading No Crying in Baseball, about the making of A League of Their Own (film), and it keeps making me tear up lol. It was such a novel experience for so many of these actresses to get to work with so many other women all at once and not just be like the love interest or a set decoration. They got to be tough! And dirty! And ugly!! And there was a lot of hooking up behind the scenes! But the part that really got to me was that the studio was so worried about who was going to see it, because it’s a sports movie and those are For Men (🙄) but they didn’t think men would watch “girls playing baseball” (🙄🙄🙄🙄), and then someone involved in production screened it for his daughters who were 10 and 6 and they went absolutely bananas for it, so the studio realized that this was going to be huge with young girls. And none of them had stopped to consider what having this movie would mean to little (white) girls. They hadn’t even realized it would mean so much and be so enduringly popular!!!

I played Baldurs Gate so badly. Half of the camp like fucking died and everyone who is left is too weak to beat the big bad guys in the act I'm in. I hit max level and I went D: because how in the FUCK was that max level

Kingdom hearts was inadvertently a terrible series for me to play bc I was actually pretty good at it......

#wait i know imma type a novel lemme finally get out of bed 😩 #Okay but the one consistent thing that stopped me from ever really gettin into gaming #is that i was always told i was bad/thought i was bad at games #like it wasnt even a :( thing i just legit thought my brain didnt connect on that shit. #anyway i played the first 2 DMC games last year and did alright- not great but alright #DMC 3 didnt grab me and then my homie was into KH and i was like vaguely intruiged by it- asked him what was up bc i know i had kh1 on ps2 #and he was hella funny bout it so i played it and #litersally was like 3 hours on destiny island- did horribly tryin to beat riku- yadda yadda #but beyond the trick master in that game i did really well and played through pretty easy and had great fun #and that was my experience with every game after- i literally would have maybe one fight that fucked with me per game but generally i just #did pretty well?? like uhhh idk that one fight in 358/2 that sucked- uhhh Terranort took me 2 hours and i hated uhhhhh Braig #kh2 i pretty much didnt have a fight that was too difficult?? i beat xaldin in 11 minutes and iwas pretty pleased with me self #beat demyx so easy that i was shocked when i found out hes a bit of a hard fight #main issue was losin power to the house for the xemnas fight #pretty much after bbs i just didnt have any terrible fights- especially not in kh3 #like i just had fun and breezed through.... Anyway that DID vaguely give me confidence #that VAGUELY made me a lil smirky and pleased with myself #and then in played ff7 and it was just fun and pretty easy on regular mode #so now i keep tryna play these other games with my brother and tbf? they arent RPGS theyre FPS...
