You know what's even more discouraging? Seeing authors you know are loads better than you also get no feedback.

At least if it's just you, you can say "well I must not be very good yet, but I can get better!".

But if you see the Nobel-Prize-in-Literature-winner-level writer of smut over there also getting crickets on their fics, then you know you're just fucked.

(Maybe my fics don't deserve love but there's *definitely* do!)
