“What do you mean old in human terms? I'm literally just 28!”
“Isn't that old in your lifespan?”
“Uhm, No?!”
“Then why is your hair white? According to Master Jingliu, short lived species have white hair when they're old! I'm different because I'm a long-lived species!”
“Well, I'm also different. I'm not a normal person at all- if that is your standard of old, then why is my lashes white instead of the usual black?”
“...Huh?”
Yingxing laughed at Young Jing Yuan's face. The look on is face is clearly amusing, “Normal humans don't have eyes like me as well. Say, Jing Yuan, what color are my eyes?”
Jing Yuan huffed, “Pink, obviously!”
“Wrong.”
Jing Yuan is clearly offended. “What!? But that's pink!”
“What is this noise?” A grumpy, and cute Dan Feng joined their little bickering and they finally remembered they were walking towards the Imbibitor Lunae's own library. “Might I remind you two to keep quiet when in this part of the luofu?”
“Sorry, High Elder!”
“Sorry, Dan Feng.”
Yingxing's voice is obviously much softer now, and it is evident in the way Jing Yuan is looking at him with the stinky eye as if to say to his face that he has 'favoritism', even though Dan Feng already said that they have to keep quiet.
“What is it that made you so frustrated?”
“Yingxing is who,”
Dan Feng raised an eyebrow, Yingxing knew he heard every word they've said due to his draconic nature and is obviously just looking at him to confirm that his words were true. Damn, Yingxing smiled at him brightly, he certainly knew I never lie to him, huh?
“I have a natural white hair and not-pink eyes-” he gave him a look, “that I know you've heard, which is also not natural for my species.”
“What's your eye color if you don't see it as pink!?”
“Really, where did the pink even came from!?”
“Silence.”
Yingxing felt his knees weaken a little bit by that voice, and Dan Feng obviously knew the effect, if his little smirk and eyes weren't telling enough.
“Ehem, Uh, It's not pink. My eyes actually have no color-”
“What?”
“Let me finish, Jing Yuan!” He says, exasperated. Really, children has no qualms about throwing tantrums and questions in the middle of a cenversation. Menaces, all of them! “And since it is transparent, You can see through my iris, or retina, or whatever it is that makes eyes have colors, I forgot. Point is, you don't see the color of my eyes, you're seeing the color of the blood in my eyes, through my eyes. Hence 'pink'.”
“What?” Jing Yuan looks a little disturbed and fascinated. Dan Feng looked surprise, which is adorable in Yingxing's opinion. Non-Fatal Diseases and Conditions that humans have are unknown to the people of the luofu, that's why even The Imbibitor Lunae is surprised.
“And that, my friends, is why I am not old despite my hair color. This thing is called Albinism.”
“Does it have any effect anywhere on your body, or just your eyes?” Jing Yuan asked.
“Hell, yeah. Can't you see?” Yingxing spread out his arms (fatui harbinger style haha). “My skin is paler than a sick person, and this is my normal skin. I have white hair, lashes and these eyes.”
“What is albinism?”
Dan Feng asked. His curious face is so adorable. Yingxing might have fallen even more at that moment.
“It is the absence of pigment, or color, in the biology of a species. So, not only humans have this but also our animals. It is genetic, which means somewhere from my bloodline, someone looks exactly like me. My mother certainly does.”
Dan Feng hid his satisfied curiousity in a hum, and proceed to just linger his gaze at Yingxing, as if there was a newfound fascination to Yingxing's appearance that made him want to appreciate him all over again. Like reading a book you loved in a new, or different perspective.
Jing Yuan, however, is not subtle at his excitement. “I am going to tell this to Master.” He said, then ran off to wherever Jing Liu was at the moment.
Of course, once he's gone, Yingxing is all over his Yinyue Jun. “Is your fascinating appearance a condition as well? I've heard no normal human is capable of bearing such beauty.”
“You flatter me.”
••••
Just a thought, like what if Yingxing always had White Hair, and Red Eyes? Like imagine the misunderstanding! Long-lived species don't normally see any white hairs from a human/short lived species until they're old! So, like, what if Yingxing is still 25-30 something yrs old, but he has natural pure, white hair? ofc with #xingyue . just because.

The Role of Ayurveda in Providing Natural Solutions for Psoriasis
Tumblr media
One auto-immune disease that is rapidly on the rise is psoriasis. No one is immune to psoriasis, regardless of age or gender. Because stress and worry are constantly associated with this disease, it causes suffering on both a bodily and psychological level.
What is Psoriasis?
The skin condition known as psoriasis causes our skin to become red, itchy, cracked, and irritated. Silver-colored plaque begins to appear, and occasionally there is also bleeding into the skin.
In Ayurveda, the illness is referred to as "Kitibha," and its primary cause is an imbalance between our bodies' Vata and Kapha doshas.
If prompt medical attention is not received, that is, choose Psoriasis Ayurvedic Treatment, the symptoms can worsen. Many patients with this illness have been treated by the psoriatic Ayurvedic specialists of The Yogshala Clinic. To find relief, one has two options: attend the clinic in person or use an Ayurvedic consultation service.
How does psoriasis grow?
Although there are many potential causes for this condition to arise, the following are the main ones that lead to psoriasis:
Unhealthy or Insufficient Diet :- Ayurveda wholeheartedly endorses the idea that "you are what you eat." A person is more likely to suffer from psoriasis if they frequently eat processed, stale, or junk food. Such improper food consumption causes your body to accumulate toxins, which can cause a variety of digestive and skin disorders if they stay in the body for long.
Using Chemical-Based Products :- You are moving closer to developing skin conditions if you frequently use cosmetics or other goods with a lot of chemical substances. These products that contain chemicals clog the pores of the skin, preventing sweat from circulating throughout the body and resulting in dry, cracked, or irritated skin.
Poor-Immune System:- As was previously said, psoriasis is an auto-immune disease in which healthy skin cells are attacked by immune cells that are meant to combat invading substances. As a result, those who already have compromised immune systems are more vulnerable to certain kinds of autoimmune disorders.
Excessive Stress:- Excessive stress is one of the main contributing reasons to a number of illnesses and health issues. Your body and mind are inextricably linked and have the capacity to influence one another in different ways. Psoriasis flare-ups have been observed to be significantly triggered by stress and high blood pressure.
Hormonal Imbalance:- Not to mention, the body is experiencing a hormonal imbalance. Hormonal changes during adolescence can cause psoriasis, particularly in women. Skin cells regenerate quickly when estrogen levels are high, especially during the first menstrual cycle.
How do you know if you have this illness as a diagnosis?
Depending on the type of psoriasis a person has, their symptoms can differ from person to person. However, the most typical signs are:
Scaly skin and plaques.
skin rashes.
Redness and itching.
Light skin patches that are brown, black, or white.
feeling of burning.
skin that is dry or cracked.
fear and discomfort.
Joint soreness and inflammation.
It is advised that you get medical attention if you are exhibiting any of the following symptoms in order to avoid potentially dangerous complications.
Psoriasis can be managed in a variety of methods. However, of all of them, Ayurvedic treatment for psoriasis has been thought to be the most successful.
Ayurvedic Psoriasis Treatment
Natural remedies are used in the holistic field of Ayurveda treatment. The old proverb states that livelihood is the universe's blessing. Herbs, Yoga, meditation, diet and lifestyle changes, and panchakarma therapy are some of the miracle treatments for a variety of illnesses.
Ayurvedic Remedies for Psoriasis Treatment
Haridra (Curcuma):- It is frequently referred to as turmeric or haldi. Haridra is a powerful herb that can effectively treat psoriasis, skin conditions. It aids in detoxifying because of its laghu ruksha and tika rasa properties. Because of its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it lessens the severity of psoriasis or kitibha.
Lasuna (Allium sativum):- Lasuna, or garlic, is said to be a disease-destroying herb. It has a lot of therapeutic qualities and antioxidants. It keeps infections at bay while enhancing skin health.
Garlic:- Nonetheless, as garlic is a staple in every home, it is simple to locate and use. You can chew raw garlic pieces, create garlic tea, or include garlic paste in your regular meals to treat psoriasis.
Nimba (Azadirachta indica):- One of the best herbs for treating skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, etc. is nigma, often known as neem. Due to the presence of astringent and therapeutic qualities in Kshaya and Ropan, it reduces redness and inflammation on the skin.
Neem-based water baths or the application of neem oil to the afflicted skin region are two options.
Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis miller):- Since aloe vera is such a lovely, restorative herb, its benefits are primarily associated with beauty. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory, antihyperlipidemic, and antioxidant properties.
Aloe vera gel can be directly applied to the skin to prevent psoriasis.  It will undoubtedly aid in lessening the edema and patch flare-ups.
Conclusion
All indications lead to the fact that psoriasis is a skin condition that causes suffering on both a physical and psychological level. The most effective method for treating this illness is Ayurveda.  For treatment of any kind of skin condition, including psoriasis, eczema, or fungal infections, speak with Psoriasis Ayurvedic Doctors. For those with busy schedules, there is also an online Ayurvedic consulting service.

When it comes to treating problems with the jaw and teeth, the branch of dentistry known as "orthodontics" has been shown to be superior. The Greek word "misalignments," "malocclusions," is a common term used to describe this disease. Patients have the highest regard for orthopedists and other medical professionals who have completed extensive training in the discipline. After dental school, an orthodontist must complete two to three more years of study. The majority of the advancements in orthodontics in recent years may be attributed to the dentistry community. Technology has given us a lot of benefits. Dental lasers marked the beginning of a period of tremendous technical innovation in the field of dentistry. Positive patient comments of improved care and a decline in the incidence of cavities are encouraging.
In answer to your inquiry regarding the standard of dental care provided in the US, we have assembled the information below ++dentist san diego++++ ++. Please send us an email if you would like further information or to arrange a meeting.
I've never been here before, so any advice would be highly appreciated.
In answer to your inquiry about the standard of dental care provided in the US, we have gathered the information below. Please send us an email if you would like further information or to arrange a meeting.
Could you inform me about major medical coverage offered by the facility?
There are numerous PPO insurance types that are accepted by this medical center. Finding health insurance is not difficult. Aetna, Guardian, MetLife, and Delta Dental are just a handful of the numerous insurance providers. There are many different options to consider. Regretfully, we are unable to collaborate with HMOs at this time. If you would like to discuss whether our ideas and yours are compatible, please contact us. At the moment of signature, the policy turns into a legally enforceable agreement between the policyholder and the insurer.
If there is a hard copy of the schedule, where can I get it?
A visit to the doctor can take as little as a few minutes or as long as several hours. We strive relentlessly to provide each patient with the best medical care possible, treating each one with the highest respect and kindness. They can be sure that we will use every resource at our disposal to assist our patients. Our patients' well-being and contentment are our top priorities at all times. Please notify me as soon as possible if there are any changes that need to be made to the day, time, or location of our planned meeting.
I smelled my own breath, and this place is utterly foul. What should I do?
Persistent bad breath, or halitosis, is a medical issue that can seriously damage a person's relationships both personally and professionally. For the most part, we've just come to terms with the fact that we'll always wake up breathless. Even in otherwise healthy people, persistent bad breath is primarily caused by poor eating.
There are certain times of day when using a toothbrush and floss to clean your teeth is optimal. When is the right time to wash your teeth to prevent cavities?
By brushing and flossing twice a day, one can prevent cavities caused by plaque and bacteria. A sticky substance called plaque will accumulate on your teeth and gums if you don't brush and floss frequently, creating an ideal environment for bacteria and food particles. The buildup of plaque, a bacterial biofilm on teeth, is intimately linked to the development of gum disease and cavities. Many people's dental health has consequently declined. Bad breath is also caused by the same bacteria that create plaque, and contact with the acidic byproducts of plaque can damage tooth enamel. If the plaque is not eliminated, the patient's condition will only become worse.

I ended up with silver amalgam fillings as a result of my first dental visit.
People have been fighting for decades about amalgam, or "silver fillings," and whether or not they are safe. This is a problem that we have been addressing for some time. Mercury serves as a glue to hold the other metals in an amalgam together. An amalgam is created when four metals—copper, silver, tin, and zinc—combine. Ever since dental fillings were first used, metal alloys have been used extensively. For a long time, this metal alloy has been essential. Composite materials made of many metals are called alloys.
When was the last time you went to get your teeth professionally cleaned at the dentist?
In addition to the twice-yearly minimum advised by the American Dental Association, your dentist might advise more frequent checks. Maintaining good oral health and reducing the likelihood of future dental care needs is best achieved through routine dental examinations and cleanings. It is easy to prevent painful tooth disorders by practicing preventive care on a regular basis. Research aimed at reducing the incidence of dental disease has repeatedly produced positive outcomes.
The following are some of the effects of gingivitis and periodontal disease. If you could go into more detail about the distinctions, that would be beneficial.
The primary cause of adult tooth loss is periodontal disease, yet only around 20% of those who have it are genuinely aware that they do. In other words, a diagnosis cannot be made based solely on a symptom's unusual presentation. In its early stages, periodontal disease does not hurt like a cavity does, thus it is frequently overlooked. This is due to the fact that periodontal disease gradually destroys teeth. This is true because gum disease doesn't really start in the teeth; rather, it starts in the gums.
Why is using dental floss to clean in between your teeth important?
A toothbrush's action range is restricted to what it can see. A toothbrush's bristles are too little to fit in that space. Gum disease and cavities frequently show up in areas that are difficult for conventional toothbrush bristles to reach. However, these issues are completely preventable if good dental hygiene is maintained. Tartar and plaque in the back of the mouth no longer pose a significant health danger.
Please let me know if you believe that painting my smile a new color would improve my self-esteem.
If you're uncomfortable smiling in pictures because of the way your teeth look, cosmetic dentistry work can be the solution. They recently had aesthetic dental work done, and they are beaming. The only medical experts who should perform these operations are cosmetic dentists. Perhaps their unexpected rise to prominence can be attributed to their increased availability in recent decades.

Prevents Breakdowns
A dirty air conditioning system can cause your appliance to break down easily. And when that happens, it might be challenging to identify and fix the issue, even if they were just minor. When this happens, it will need a thorough inspection, and it can only be done by an aircon professional. They have the correct tools and equipment to check the unit in its core.
Health Benefits
Allergies and asthma can be gotten anywhere. It depends on your triggers, so knowing about them is vital in your condition. However, air conditioners can also cause these issues in your body. "From Farm to Fork: Analyzing the Inhumane Practices in Factory Farms"
The food we consume plays a vital role in our daily lives, providing us with the necessary nutrients to survive and thrive. However, in recent years, the way our food is produced has come under scrutiny, particularly when it comes to factory farming. These industrialized animal production systems aim to produce large quantities of meat, dairy, and eggs at a rapid pace and low cost. While this may seem like a convenient and efficient way to feed the growing population, the reality is far from it. The conditions in which animals are raised in factory farms have been deemed inhumane by many, and rightfully so. From overcrowding and unsanitary living conditions to cruel and painful practices, the treatment of animals in factory farms is a far cry from the idyllic image of a peaceful farm we often envision. In this article, we will delve deeper into the inhumane practices that occur in factory farms and the impact they have on the animals, the environment, and our food system. It is time to take a closer look at the journey our food takes from farm to fork and question the ethics behind it.
Harsh living conditions lead to animal suffering
The conditions in which animals are raised in factory farms are often characterized by overcrowding, unsanitary environments, and limited access to natural behaviors. These harsh living conditions can have detrimental effects on the physical and psychological well-being of the animals. For instance, overcrowding can lead to increased stress levels and aggression among animals, resulting in injuries and even death. The unsanitary conditions in these facilities can also contribute to the spread of diseases, further compromising the health of the animals. Additionally, the lack of opportunities for natural behaviors, such as foraging or social interaction, can result in boredom and frustration for the animals, leading to behavioral abnormalities and decreased overall welfare. It is crucial to recognize that these inhumane practices not only cause immense suffering to the animals, but also raise serious ethical concerns regarding the treatment of sentient beings in the food production industry.
Factory farms prioritize profit over welfare
Factory farms prioritize profit over welfare, placing financial gain as their top priority rather than the well-being of the animals. This profit-driven mindset often leads to the implementation of practices that prioritize efficiency and cost reduction, disregarding the ethical treatment of the animals. Animals are often treated as mere commodities, confined to cramped spaces and subjected to harsh conditions. The primary goal is to maximize productivity and minimize expenses, which can result in compromising their welfare. This profit-centric approach perpetuates a system that prioritizes economic gain at the expense of humane treatment, raising concerns about the ethical implications of factory farming practices.
Overcrowding and unsanitary conditions rampant
The conditions within factory farms are a cause for grave concern, as overcrowding and unsanitary conditions are rampant. Animals are crammed into confined spaces, often unable to move freely or exhibit natural behaviors. This overcrowding not only compromises the physical and psychological well-being of the animals but also contributes to the spread of diseases. Inadequate ventilation coupled with the accumulation of feces and urine create unsanitary environments that can lead to the transmission of pathogens and the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. These conditions not only pose risks to the animals but also raise significant public health concerns. Addressing these issues is crucial to ensuring the ethical treatment of animals and safeguarding the health and well-being of consumers.
Animals subjected to cruel mutilation procedures
Tumblr media
The mistreatment of animals in factory farms extends beyond overcrowded and unsanitary conditions. Many animals raised in these facilities are subjected to cruel mutilation procedures, which inflict unnecessary pain and suffering. These procedures, such as debeaking, tail docking, and castration, are often performed without adequate anesthesia or pain relief. Animals endure distressing experiences, having their sensitive body parts removed or altered, simply to accommodate the intensive farming practices. These inhumane practices not only disregard the well-being and inherent dignity of the animals involved but also raise ethical questions about the treatment of animals in the food production industry. Efforts must be made to address and eliminate these cruel practices, ensuring the humane treatment of animals throughout the entire farming process.
Hormone and antibiotic overuse harmful
Tumblr media
The excessive use of hormones and antibiotics in factory farms poses a significant threat to both animal welfare and human health. Hormones are often administered to livestock to accelerate growth and increase milk production, leading to unnatural and unsustainable practices. This not only places immense stress on animals, but it also disrupts their natural hormonal balance. Similarly, the indiscriminate use of antibiotics in animal farming contributes to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, posing a serious threat to human health. When these antibiotic-resistant bacteria enter the food chain, they can reduce the effectiveness of vital antibiotics used to treat infections in humans. It is imperative that we recognize the negative consequences of hormone and antibiotic overuse in factory farms and take proactive measures to promote sustainable and responsible farming practices that prioritize animal welfare and public health.
Environmental impact often overlooked
Despite the growing awareness surrounding the inhumane practices in factory farms, the environmental impact of these operations is often overlooked. The intensive farming methods used in factory farms contribute to deforestation, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. The mass production of livestock requires vast amounts of land, leading to deforestation and habitat destruction. Additionally, the excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to grow feed crops for these animals contaminates waterways, affecting aquatic ecosystems and human health. Furthermore, factory farms are a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions, with methane and nitrous oxide released from animal waste and the transportation of feed and livestock. It is crucial that we address the environmental impacts of factory farming and explore sustainable alternatives that prioritize both ethical treatment of animals and the preservation of our planet.
Consumers urged to make informed choices
Consumers play a vital role in driving change within the food industry, and making informed choices is key to promoting more humane and sustainable practices. It is imperative that consumers take the time to educate themselves about the origins of their food, particularly when it comes to products sourced from factory farms. By seeking out information on how animals are raised and treated, consumers can make conscious decisions that align with their values and support ethical farming practices. Additionally, consumers can choose to support local and organic food options, which often prioritize animal welfare and environmental sustainability. By demanding transparency and actively seeking out these alternatives, consumers can contribute to a shift towards a more ethical and sustainable food system.
Advocacy for humane farming practices
Advocacy for humane farming practices is essential in ensuring the well-being of animals and promoting a more ethical and sustainable food system. By advocating for the adoption of practices that prioritize animal welfare, such as providing adequate space, access to natural environments, and proper veterinary care, we can work towards eliminating the inhumane conditions often found in factory farms. Moreover, supporting organizations and initiatives that promote humane farming practices, such as certification programs and legislative efforts, can help create a stronger framework for ensuring the ethical treatment of animals throughout the food production process. By advocating for change and raising awareness about the importance of humane farming practices, we can encourage industry-wide improvements and contribute to a more compassionate and sustainable future for our food system.
In conclusion, it is clear that factory farms employ inhumane practices in order to maximize profits and meet consumer demands. From the mistreatment of animals to the use of harmful chemicals, these practices not only harm the animals but also have negative impacts on the environment and public health. As consumers, it is important to be informed about where our food comes from and to support ethical and sustainable farming practices. We must hold corporations accountable for their actions and advocate for better treatment of animals and the environment. Together, we can create a more humane and sustainable food system for all.

What are some alternative farming methods that prioritize animal welfare and sustainability over profit?
Some alternative farming methods that prioritize animal welfare and sustainability over profit include organic farming, permaculture, agroforestry, and regenerative agriculture. These methods prioritize the well-being of animals by providing them with more natural living conditions, access to pasture, and avoiding the use of synthetic chemicals and hormones. Additionally, they focus on sustainable practices such as soil conservation, water management, and biodiversity preservation. These methods aim to create a more harmonious and balanced ecosystem while reducing the negative impacts of conventional industrial farming on animals and the environment.

What Are The Risk Factors For Developing Liver Cancer, And Who Is Most Susceptible?
Tumblr media
The idea of cancer is terrible, and when it manifests itself, it threatens not just one's health and well-being but also the tranquilly of one's loved ones. Therefore, a basic understanding of where it originates, how it develops, and how it spreads can be of assistance in raising awareness of the issue.
Of all types of cancer, liver cancer ranks sixth in prevalence. The liver is in the upper right quadrant of the abdominal cavity, directly above the stomach and below the diaphragm. The liver cells are the starting point for the development of liver cancer.
Cancer originating in the liver is distinct from other cancer that occurs in the other part of the body and has spread to the liver. Metastatic cancer begins in a specific body part, like the colon or breast, and then applies to other areas. Then it spreads to another organ, such as the liver. Metastatic cancer has spread to other regions of the body. Much more common than cancer, which originates in the liver.
The most prevalent type of liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma, which can arise from cirrhosis or hepatitis virus infection.
DNA contains the instructions needed to carry out chemical reactions. Changes in the DNA, often known as mutations, might result in altered instructions—unchecked cell growth results in a tumour composed of malignant cells. When cells have alterations in their DNA, this can lead to liver cancer.
Risk Factors That Are Associated With Primary Liver Cancer
The following are the risk factors that are associated with primary liver cancer:
1. Infection With The Hepatitis B
The virus can be passed on to a child after childbirth through blood or sperm, or other bodily fluids. It is the primary reason people in Asia and Africa develop liver cancer, which can also induce inflammation. Hepatitis C Virus Infection can be passed on through blood transmission and, less frequently, through sexual contact and blood transfusion. However, the likelihood of this
2. Hepatitis C Virus Infection
Cirrhosis is also known as "fatty liver disease." cirrhosis is a disease in which scar tissues replace normal liver tissues. Scar tissue restricts blood flow through the liver, causing it to become dysfunctional. The primary causes of cirrhosis are alcoholism and hepatitis infections that have been present for an extended time.
3. Consumption Of Alcohol
Despite the absence of liver cirrhosis, alcohol usage still carries the risk of developing liver cancer. Individuals who drink excessive amounts of alcohol are at a greater risk of developing liver cancer compared to those who do not have liver cirrhosis.
4. Aflatoxins
These are a type of mould that can cause liver cancer. This mould grows on crops that have been improperly stored, and it can then make its way into food products that are created from those crops.
5. Cigarette Smoking
People who have diabetes have a greater chance of developing liver cancer compared to those who do not have diabetes. The risk of acquiring liver cancer is directly proportional to the number of years a person has smoked cigarettes, which is consistent
with cigarette smoking having a tangible link to the development of liver cancer.
Those who have diabetes have an increased risk of developing liver cancer in comparison to those who do not have diabetes.
Several disorders can cause this, including untreated hemochromatosis, glycogen storage disease, Wilson disease, and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.
Even though liver cancer can have multiple causes—some of which have already been discussed—this does not discount the fact that there are preventative measures that can be performed to reduce the risk of developing the disease.
Furthermore, because cancer is highly harmful and can have a significant impact on one's health in both the body and the mind, having an accurate understanding of the illness can help us adopt a more realistic view of the condition, which is crucial because of the importance of having a practical perspective on cancer.

Is LASIK Eye Surgery Really Safe?
LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, is a type of refractive eye surgery to correct vision problems by reshaping the cornea to refract light more precisely. It has been around for more than 20 years and is approved by the FDA for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism (a defect in the eye resulting in distorted vision).
For people who have experienced vision problems for years and tired of wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses, LASIK is truly life changing.
All surgeries carry some risk of complications and side effects, LASIK is widely considered safe and is one of the most studied elective procedures performed today, as the chances of side effects and other problems are low. But the idea of being awake during eye surgery can be scary.
What Does LASIK Eye Surgery Involve? During LASIK surgery, you lie on your back in a reclining chair. After numbing drops are placed in your eye, an eye surgeon uses a special blinking retainer to hold the eyelid in place and out of the way. An eye surgeon then creates a flap in the very top layer of the cornea and then raises it up before reshaping the cornea with a laser. After reshaping the cornea, an eye surgeon lays the flap back into place and left to heal naturally. The outermost layer of the cornea will fuse with the flap in around 24 to 36 hours.
The surgery takes less than half an hour and your eyes will be fully numb for the duration of your procedure. However, that does not mean LASIK is a simple procedure. Like any surgery, the experience of an eye surgeon is essential to achieving the best results.
Is Your Vision Stable Enough For LASIK? In general, the best candidates for LASIK have healthy eyes and stable vision. Stable vision is considered little to no change in prescription for a least one year before having LASIK. It doesn’t make sense to undergo a LASIK surgery when your vision continues to fluctuate. If you have myopia, your vision may continue to change throughout your teenage years. Therefore, you must be at least 18 years of age or older before having LASIK.
LASIK Eye Surgery Success Rate No surgical procedure is 100% effective. However, the success rate of LASIK is exceptionally high and is reported to be no less than 96%. Complications after surgery are rare now a days.
LASIK Eye Surgery Recovery Time There is no exact recovery time. Each patient heals differently, but most patients are able to return to normal activities after one day.
LASIK Side Effects And Complications Side effects of LASIK surgery are often temporary. Complications, which can be more serious or longer lasting than side effects, occur in less than one percent of patients.
Potential risks of LASIK include: dry eyes, double vision, halos or glare in vision, undercorrection or overcorrection of vision, vision loss or impaired vision, light sensitivity and keratitis (inflammation of the cornea).
Are There Any Safer Alternatives? PRK (Photorefractive keratectomy) is a highly successful alternative that does not have the same risk of flap complications. PRK was the original laser refractive surgery, approved by the FDA in 1995. LASIK was approved a few years later. PRK is a better alternative for certain patients. If you have dry eyes, thin corneas or if you have a very active lifestyle, PRK may be a good choice for you. Unlike LASIK, PRK does not involve cutting a flap in your cornea. PRK completely removes the epithelium to access the cornea, and then the epithelium grows back. During PRK surgery, an eye surgeon uses a laser to reshape your cornea. This laser is used on the surface of the cornea, not underneath a corneal flap as in LASIK.
Who Should Not Have Laser Eye Surgery? Like any other surgery, laser eye surgery isn’t for everyone. LASIK is usually not recommended for people who are under the age of 18, are pregnant or breastfeeding, take certain medications, have a severe irregular astigmatism, have autoimmune diseases or other conditions that inhibit healing and have certain eye-related risk factors like thin corneas or dry eyes.
The Final Decision LASIK frees you from having to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses. But not everyone is going to be eligible to get their vision corrected with LASIK. It's important to have a full evaluation of your own eyes and don't rush into anything. Speak to your eye surgeon about your interest and get your questions answered. Your eye surgeon will help you determine whether LASIK is the best way to correct your vision.

This popular tropical fruit is found in the countries of Borneo and Sumatra. Read on to learn more! Until then, enjoy a delicious durian! After all, who says eating durian is terrible? Tumblr media
What is Durian?
The durian is an edible fruit native to Borneo and Sumatra. Only one species, durian zibethinus, is available in the international market. Despite this, many people still don't understand the fruit's popularity.
Learn more about all your favorite fruits at: https://homehealthup.com
The durian fruit has spikes that poke into you when you cut it. If you aren't comfortable cutting through the thick skin, try to buy a large knife and cut the top portion of the fruit with it. Durian skin is thick and may poke you, but you can pull it back with your hands and pull it off. Be aware that the smell of durian will last the entire day. Alternatively, you can boil or roast the durian stone and then eat it.
A study by scientists in Malaysia found that durian smell is genetically determined. Volatile amines cause the smell in the fruit, which are responsible for its strong, pungent aroma. The smell was so bad that durian was banned in some public transport systems. But that didn't stop people from eating it in the past. Today, the fruit is legal in many Southeast Asian countries, and it's one of the best ways to explore the exotic taste of thorny berry.
Nutrition Facts of Durian
The durian is rich in antioxidants, phytonutrients, and protein. It is an excellent energy source, improves skin health, and boosts serotonin levels, promoting well-being. Furthermore, durian is high in B-complex vitamins, including riboflavin, niacin, and pyridoxine. These vitamins help the body process nutrients. The vitamin B complex is also abundant in the durian and regulates the body's heart rate. Nutrition facts of 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of durian fruit include:

Vitamins and Minerals
The Vitamins and Minerals of Durian may surprise you! This fruit contains protective compounds like antioxidants, polyphenols, anthocyanins, bioflavonoids, and carotenoids. A durian is approximately equivalent to four small apples without skin and one large pear. Though it's a high-calorie fruit, durian has high nutritional value and can contribute to your daily calorie intake. In addition, durian contains many antioxidants that help prevent the damaging effects of free radicals in the body.
The vitamins and minerals of durian are precious. They help support the immune system, enhance energy levels, and improve the digestive and reproductive systems. They also protect against cardiovascular disease and lower blood pressure. Moreover, they support healthy skin and reduce free radical damage. Durian is an excellent food to eat for many health benefits. Like other fruits, durian contains a high amount of Vitamin B, which supports the immune system and promotes healthy skin.
One of the essential benefits of durian is its ability to promote sexual health. Its antioxidants promote proper blood circulation in the scalp, ensuring that hair follicles receive adequate nourishment. Vitamin C and copper are both known for their collagen-producing capabilities. Copper helps restore brittle hair to its original condition. Therefore, drinking plenty of water daily is essential, as drinking a glass of durian juice will increase your energy levels.
Health Benefits of Durian
Durian has many Health Benefits, but not all are related to a specific condition. In addition to its nutritional value, durian also helps lower cholesterol levels and reduce the amount of LDL (bad) cholesterol. This is because durian contains antioxidants that help lipids maintain a healthy metabolism. In addition, durian consumption has been linked to improved digestive health.
The health benefits of durian are numerous. The fruit has a taste that is similar to that of cheese or caramel combined with almonds. You can also eat the seeds of the fruit. Both varieties are rich in fiber, which aids digestion. The thiamin in durian improves the digestive system and builds a good appetite. These health benefits of durian make it an excellent food choice for people with diabetes.
Durian contains high levels of phenolics and flavonoids. Phenolics block cancer cell growth. Phenomenics also arrest cancer cell division, causing cancer cells to die. In addition to its antioxidant and anticancer effects, durian is high in tryptophan, a natural amino acid associated with falling asleep. It can also help you sleep better, especially if you have insomnia.
Side Effects
While the Durian fruit is usually eaten raw, you can also add it to a fruit salad or bake it into a dessert. You can even make durian chips with it. Overeating can cause stomach problems, including constipation and gas. Some people experience flatulence and headache after eating durian. People with diabetes should also avoid it. It is not recommended to combine durian with alcohol because of the potential for adverse reactions.
While durian is high in vitamin A, it is unsuitable for pregnant women. The fruit is high in arachidonic acid, leading to prostaglandins forming. These chemicals are responsible for triggering labor. Due to its high alcohol content, durian also breaks down an organ necessary for the fetus. The resulting fetus is not functioning normally. Its consumption during pregnancy could result in preeclampsia, characterized by high blood pressure and swollen hands and face.
Tips on Including Durian in Meal
If you are new to durian, here are some tips for the first-time durian eater. Traditionally, durian is eaten in Southeast Asia. It has a unique taste and can be paired with many different fruits, including coconut and mango. The fruit also goes well in desserts, especially those with coconut. Durian can also be used in smoothies and custards.
First, the fruit itself is delicious. It's best served without its stones, although eating the stone is common. To slice the fruit, use a sharp knife to cut along the seam of the "shell" and remove additional fruit sections. It may smell strong, but it's worth it to experience the taste and texture of durian. Besides that, the fruit is soft and can be eaten with your hands.
After eating durian, take it out of the hull to ensure that you don't get any stains on your hands or in your mouth. It's best to keep durian slices in the fridge or freezer so they don't "contaminate" other foods in the refrigerator.
