Emergency Alert System :: FEMA Emergency Action Notification
[ This is an Emergency Action Notification. ]
[ We interrupt our program at the request of the White House. This is a national emergency. The President of the United States or his designated representative will appear shortly over the Emergency Broadcast System. ]
[ The president of the United States appears on screen. The usual White House office is not visible, and a more dimly lit area without windows is identified. ]
"This nation has come under attack by unknown creatures, mostly reptilian in apperance. They are incredibly hostile to all human beings and seek to kill whoever they attack. The creatures come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from the size of an average human to a small building. Some of them even have fantastical appearances such as dragons and dinosaurs. This may all seem unreal, but that is currently what is happening right now."
"The attacks are occurring worldwide. We do not know what the purpose is, only that the creatures are determined to eradicate humans. The military has been deployed to fight back against these creatures. However, their sudden attack and numbers make it difficult to mount an effective counterassault.
"Once again, these creatures are highly dangerous. It is advised that if you are already indoors to find the lowest level and stay there. Do not go near the windows. Do not appear visibly present from the outside. These creatures will attempt to break in if they notice you.
"If you are outside, it is advised to go indoors immediately. If you are travelling via public transportation or car, it is advised you stop and do your best to hide if no buildings are available."
"We will get through this. Our great nation will fight for its people. We will do our best to keep everyone safe. Thank you."
[ This concludes our Emergency Action Notification. The message will be repeated in the following languages... ]
----
Los Angeles City Hall - Revision: Town Hall Website
To those that still alive and can read this, the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Los Angeles is a safe haven from the monster attacks. We have an angel here from god here that is combatting the monsters with all her strength, delivering justice with her mighty hammer and smiting these devils.
Many are currently taking refuge at the aquarium. Before our angel appeared, we are not sure why it has been left undamaged. Maybe it is because this is a holy place that hides us from the monsters' senses.
I repeat, if you are in the surrounding areas looking for shelter, head to the Aquarium of the Pacific if you can safely do so. Otherwise, stay where you are.
----
Honolulu Capital City Hall Website
All fights to and from Hawaii are grounded until further notice.
There has been severe disruptions to public transit and internet architecture.
If you are reading this, a safe zone has been established at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. We are however currently in the middle of a conflict between the sea monsters in the area and an unknown number of skeletal creatures. It is unclear whether these skeleton creatures are hostile to humans, though their actions have benefits us by combatting the definitively hostile sea monsters.
We advise to avoid the sea and air routes in the area until further notice.
----
Alameda Naval Air Station - San Francisco, CA - Military Orders
Memo: Golden Gate Bridge has fallen. Make appropriate accomodations.
A safe zone has been established at the Transamerica Pyramid. We have teams Metalhead, Seabound, and Crisis manning the defensive line. Reinforcements have been delayed due to the collapse of Golden Gate Bridge.
Small caliber firearms are ineffective against most creatures. Artillery and explosion munitions are required against medium-to-large monsters. Close combat is not advised.
There is currently an unknown entity that does not match the description of the reptilian creatures we are fighting. Allegiance unknown, and those who play the game Duel Monsters here are unfamiliar with the humanoid entity. As of right now, the entity's actions are benefiting us as they seem capable to take down a number of creatures solo. Do not engage if seen in the area and only assist if the entity appears to be in dire straits. If this entity's actions become hostile, let Baseplate know immediately.
----
Sacramento City Hall Website
The primary emergency shelter, the California State Capital, has been destroyed in the fighting. The secondary emergency shelter, the California Supreme Court, is currently full and cannot accomodate more people.
If you are in the Sacramento area, please stay put inside the building you are in. On top of the fighting between the military and monsters, there is an unknown green-glowing Duel Monster that is combating the monsters. A floating green skull marks his location. Avoid the area if you are currently in a safe place.
----
Domino City Museum || Domino City Hall
If you are reading this, there are designated safe zones established in Domino City. If you are close to either area, please either head for the Domino City Museum or the Kame Game Shop. Preferably the Domino City Museum given the lack of space at the Kame Game Shop.
Praise be to the King of Games.

B-2 bombers fly again next week after a six-month safety break
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 05/21/2023 - 20:16 in Military
The B-2 Spirit is returning to the skies, U.S. Air Force officials said. The first aircraft is projected to take off on May 22, after a break in flight operations due to a safety break.
The return to flight was recently approved by the head of the Air Force Global Attack Command (AFGSC), General Thomas A. Bussiere, after a safety break of approximately six months after an accident in December.
“The safety pause of the B-2 fleet has been officially suspended,” said Maj. Gen. Andrew J. Gebara, commander of the 8ª Air Force, which controls the country's fleet of strategic bombers. "General Bussiere, on my recommendation, made a final determination on the necessary actions and approved the return to flight."
Tumblr media
B-2 bombers at Whiteman Air Base.
Gebara and other USAF officers refused to say what the security problem was or what was done to allow the service to resume flight operations.
“I would like the safety pause not to be necessary,” Gebara said. "But I think it was very important for us to find out what happened and make sure that everything was mitigated before you started flying again, and that's what we did."
Gebara said there would be no onerous restrictions on the missions.
Tumblr media
“I want them to come back in a disciplined and deliberate way,” Gebara said. "But we will do full operational missions. Therefore, you will not see flight circuit and landings. It will be a normal outing. In fact, I'm not at all concerned about the aspects of the force's mission."
He said there would be a “phased approach” as the fleet returned to flight, with the most experienced pilots sitting first and “several weeks to get the entire community back at speed.”
Tumblr media
Pilots of the B-2 bombers continued training on T-38 Talon jets.
But Gebara added a warning note to America's opponents: "This is different, however, from having enough pilots for any necessary mission if there is a crisis."
The U.S. Air Force refused to reveal the exact cause of the accident, which temporarily blocked the only runway at Whiteman Air Base, Montana. The service also refused to detail what actions were taken to suspend the security pause. The break began in late December, after a B-2 was damaged after an emergency landing on December 10 in Whiteman - the only base to host combat B-2s, assigned to the 509ª Bomber Wing and its National Air Guard associate, the 131ª Bomber Wing.
Tumblr media
Incident with B-2 in September 2021.
Bussiere, a B-2 pilot and former commander of the 509º Bomb Wing, took over the AFGSC a few days before the accident.
Air Force officials said the aircraft remained ready to perform missions, if necessary, playing a critical role as the only stealth bomber with nuclear capacity in service in the country.
“The B-2 fleet can still carry out missions, if necessary,” Gebara said. "Our ability to provide nuclear deterrence has never stopped."
Tumblr media
The B-2 drivers spent some time during the safety break in the advanced simulators in Whiteman and increased the repetitions in the T-38 coaches. Only 21 B-2 were produced, costing more than $1 billion per plane, according to the USAF. One was destroyed in an accident in 2008. Nineteen of the current fuselages are in Whiteman - one of which is a test aircraft normally based in Edwards, California. A combat B-2 was stationed at Pearl Harbor-Hickam Joint Base, Hawaii, which shares runways with Daniel K International Airport. Inouye in Honolulu after the safety pause took effect while the aircraft was at the base.
It is not clear what will happen to the damaged B-2 in December. The entire B-2 fleet will eventually be replaced by the B-21 Raider, which like the Spirit, is a stealth flying wing produced by Northrop Grumman. The first B-21 is scheduled to fly later this year.
Tumblr media
The Air Force Global Attack Command has conducted regular maintenance of all B-2, and officers from the 509ª Bomber Wing and Gebara said that the little-observable stealth coating, which is critical to the B-2 nuclear mission, was well taken care of.
Despite a pause in operations, Gebara said that the nuclear deterrence of the United States was not hampered.
“It's hard to get into the head of another country and find out how they feel,” Gebara said. "I don't think it would be wise for them to doubt our deterrence, and I'm reasonably confident that they don't."

Cornella Fort by Willard Womack Via Flickr: Cornelia Fort, at the age of twenty-two, was living the life she loved. Working as a flight instructor, flying out of the John Rogers Civilian Airport in Hawaii. (Now the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport). It was a nice bright Sunday morning, December 7th 1941, as her student practiced takeoffs and landings. Suddenly she saw a fighter plane coming toward them. She took the controls of the Interstate Cadet, and pulled up missing the fighter. In doing so she saw the Red Circle on the wings of the plane, and realized that it was Japanese. Looking across the harbor she could see the smoke rising from the first bombs of the attack. They quickly landed as the Japanese fighter strafed the small airfield. It again strafed the field, as they ran for cover, striking their plane and killing the airport manager. Cornelia had been born in Nashville Tennessee, into a very wealthy family. Being the youngest of four, with three older brothers. They were chauffeured to their private school by the family’s Chauffer. Their father, who thought flying was very dangerous, had the three older brothers take an oath, on the Bible, they would never learn to fly. Later, when Cornelia was taking flying lessons, one of her brothers remaindered her about that oath. She remaindered him that they took the oath, not her. Being somewhat independent, and rebellious, she even had to be bribed to attend her own Debutant Ball. She became the second woman in Tennessee to earn a Commercial pilots license, and the first to receive an Instructors license. She took a job offer in Colorado, where she worked as an instructor, until the offer of a job in Hawaii took her there. Returning to the States, after the attack, she used her notoriety in making a short movie promoting the buying of War Bonds. This also led to speaking engagements. Then in 1942 she was offer the job of flying for the Women’s Auxiliary Ferry Squadron (WAFS). She became the second woman to be accepted. This would later be merged with the Women's Flying Training Detachment (WFTD) to form the Woman’s Auxiliary Service Pilots. The WASP. Her job was to ferry planes from the factory to airfields around the nation. This involved flying slow Primary Trainers, with open cockpits, no heat, in winter temperatures, and following a line drawn on a map. By March of 1943 she was flying Vultee BT-13 trainers from the West Coast to Dallas Texas. These were faster, had an enclosed cockpit, and some heat. She and four other BT-13s, flown by men, departed California on March 21, 1942. None of them had ever had formation or acrobatic training. On their own they practice formation flying on the first leg. On the second leg one of the men began to harass Cornelia by moving in very close and then backing off, although they were no longer practicing formation flying. On one of these passes his landing gear struck her left wing. Ripping off the wingtip, and part of the leading edge. It may have even struck the cockpit. Her plane fell away, out of control, and she was killed in the crash. She became the first WASP to be killed flying a mission. A trainee had been killed, but it did not count as the first as she had not yet received her Wings. Mary Harkness Love, who had recruited her into the WAFS, said she was one of their most accomplished pilots. There was a Cornelia Fort airport near downtown Nashville for many years, named in her honor. It was badly flooded in 2010 and did not reopen. The footstone of her grave is inscribed, “Killed in the Service of Her Country.”

Alaksa Airlines to Buy Hawaiian Airlines for $1.9 Billion
Alaksa Airlines to Buy Hawaiian Airlines for $1.9 Billion https://ift.tt/JgGhaIT   On Sunday, December 3, 2023, Alaska Airlines announced an agreement to purchase rival Hawaiian Airlines for $1.9 billion in cash and assuming nearly $1 billion of debt.   Merger Promises More Flexibility and Destinations for Over 54 Million Flyers Annually Under the agreement, Alaska will pay $18 per share in cash for their competitor, which they anticipate will grow beyond its value two years after the close. The combined airline will have a collective fleet of 365 narrow- and widebody aircraft, serving 138 destinations between them and through the Oneworld alliance.   Instead of bringing the two airlines together under a single brand, Alaska plans to operate both brands under a single company. Both carriers would work under “a single operating platform, enabling the remarkable service and hospitality of each to be enjoyed by passengers with continued excellence in operational reliability, trust and guest satisfaction for which both companies have been consistently recognized.” Their stated goal is to “enhance competition and expand choice for consumers on the West Coast and throughout the Hawaiian Islands” for a combined total of over 54 million flyers annually. The merger of the two airlines would also give Alaska Airlines a hub at Honolulu Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), which the carrier says would help them preserve and grow jobs across Hawaii. The airline says they are committed to “Maintain and grow union-represented jobs in Hawai’I,” including those for pilots and flight attendants.   In a statement about union jobs, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA said in a statement: “Our first priority is to determine whether this merger will improve conditions for Flight Attendants just like the benefits the companies have described for shareholders and consumers. Our support of the merger will depend on this.”   Alaska also notes working through a Honolulu hub could also provide better domestic and international connectivity. In addition to expanding inter-island travel, flyers would also have a new place to connect for seamless Asia-Pacific travel.   The merger has been approved by both airline boards, and is expected to close no later than 18 months from now. However, the transaction will need to be approved by federal regulators, which have been hawkish about aviation mergers. The Justice and Transportation Departments previously broke up the Northeast Alliance between American Airlines and JetBlue and is currently working to prevent the merger between JetBlue and Spirit Airlines.   Share your thoughts on the proposed Alaska purchase of Hawaiian on the FlyerTalk Forums.  via FlyerTalk – The world's most popular frequent flyer community https://ift.tt/JRBrOAw December 04, 2023 at 04:08PM

Inouye International in Honolulu it was instead diverted and returned to its departure airport, data from flight-tracking websites FlightAware and Flightradar24 shows.Data from the sites shows that though the plane left the gate on time, it taxied for about an hour and a half in Las Vegas before setting off. The flight only lasted around 20 minutes, and the plane never even crossed the border from Nevada to California, the sites show.A spokesperson for Hawaiian Airlines told NBC-affiliate KSNV that the plane, which was carrying 278 passengers, was diverted because of a "lightning strike." The aircraft was inspected on its return to Las Vegas, and passengers were given hotel accommodation and food, the spokesperson added. The airline did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment, made outside of regular business hours. The US National Weather Service says that on average, commercial transport passenger planes are hit by lightning one or two times a year."Strikes to airplanes are relatively common but rarely result in a significant impact to the continued safe operation of the airplane," aerospace company Boeing says.Planes that carry passengers are designed with conducting paths through the plane to take the lightning strike and conduct the currents, the NWS says.Read the original article on Business Insider

Taiwan's F-16 makes emergency landing at airport in Hawaii
A runway at Honolulu airport was closed for hours on Monday after a Taiwan Air Force F-16 fighter made a "forced landing". (Photo: Hawaii News Now)
On June 6, a Taiwan Air Force F-16 made an emergency landing at Daniel K International Airport. Inouye, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The aircraft was returning from training at Luke Air Base, Arizona, according to local media reports.
The F-16A combat plane, tail number 93817, reportedly made a forced landing at 2:45 p.m. (local time) after its front landing gear failed. The pilot wasn't hurt. The nose of the aircraft eventually collided on runway 4R, with commercial aircraft diverted until a crane could remove the aircraft.
A Department of Defense official confirmed that "a forced F-16 landing took place at Honolulu International Airport. The accident is under investigation."
Tumblr media
Taiwanese media reported on May 26 that four F-16s had landed in Honolulu on their way to Luke Air Base for training, with their identification markings covered. Taiwan had already asked the Pentagon for a training center on the Pacific coast for its aircraft, which require about a dozen air refueling to reach the Arizona training center from the island, located 160 kilometers off the coast of China.
Air Force officers at Pearl Harbor-Hickam Joint Base in Hawaii were unable to independently confirm media reports. The Pentagon had no information when contacted, and the Air Force did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
Tensions between China and the United States have increased in recent weeks after President Joe Biden gave vague assurances during a trip to the region that the United States military would get involved if China invaded Taiwan. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and other defense officers regularly state that China is the department's current challenge.
Tumblr media
Taiwan is administered independently of China, but is not recognized as a separate nation by the U.S. State Department.
The Taiwan Relations Act with the United States of 1979 provides that the United States will adequately arm Taiwan to defend itself. In recent years, Taiwan has bought millions of dollars in U.S. defense articles to protect itself from a possible invasion of Beijing.
The crashed aircraft was acquired as part of the Peace Fenghuang program, an order for 150 F-16A/B-20 aircraft made by Taiwan in 1992.
U.S. military leaders estimated that China could be militarily prepared to invade Taiwan as early as 2025.
U.S. allies in the Pacific, including Japan and Australia, are preparing for the possibility of supporting the United States if a conflict with China arises in the Taiwan Strait.

On our last journey out to Hawaiian Islands, on departure from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport from island of O’ahu to the big Island Hawaii, we took off in an easterly bound direction and I was able to capture some images of Diamond Head Crater. It’s scale from the air compared to Waikiki Beach immediately west of it and Honolulu next to that show how immense the volcanic crater is. As I had posted earlier images taken from the rim, my damsel’s sweet daughter took us on what was a strenuous hike up to the rim from the bottom, as it is a state park referred to as the Diamond Head State Monument. The views of Waikiki and Honolulu from the rim were amazing from that vantage point but seeing it from up above the clear delineation of tuff cone of the crater are clearly visible and what an amazing geological formation it is. #developportdev @gothamtomato @developphotonewsletter @omsystem.cameras #excellent_america #iphone13pro @bheventspace @bhphoto @adorama @tamracphoto @tiffencompany #usaprimeshot #tamractales @apple @oahu_hawaiii @kehcamera @mpbcom (at Honolulu, Oahu Hawaii) https://www.instagram.com/p/CodkPd2vYIW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
