Colton is easygoing and laidback, a true California kid, yet is intensely competitive. Participant (rumored to be the mastermind) in several of the infamous Indy 500 bus lot pranks in recent years, he somehow eludes any true blame falling upon him. He’s well-liked within the paddock, most recently sort of adopted by the Bus Bros and nicknamed “Swolton.” He is also close friends with Alex Rossi, often staying with his former teammate when he needs to be in Indy. He doesn’t make a lot of waves off-track, one of the quietest drivers on social media, but makes up for it on-track with fantastic saves and crashes in equal measure. Just 23 years old in 2023 has 7 wins, 11 podiums and 9 poles in his young life.

F1 discussions.
In late summer 2022, it was announced that F1 team AlphaTauri had an interest in Colton for the 2024 F1 season. Colton, already signed to McLaren F1 as a test driver in addition to his Andretti contract in Indycar, was not eligible for a Super License, a requirement to drive in F1, but this could be addressed with an exception by the FIA. At one point it was announced that this was a done deal but it was not and Red Bull (AlphaTauri’s parent team) soon abandoned all efforts to acquire Colton as a driver.
The Super License system is a convoluted thing that I will not explain here other than to say that Indycar is vastly underrated in points assigned and if not for this discrepancy, Colton would have had more than enough points. But as it is, Colton had 32 points out of a needed 40. Other drivers in similar situations have raced in various lower tier FIA sanctioned series to make up the points and Colton was willing to do this over the winter of 2022-23 but this was also not allowed by the FIA.
But seeing Colton in F1 is still a possibility, should he do well enough in Indycar to earn the points needed and should Michael Andretti eventually succeed in buying an existing F1 team or convincing F1 to allow him to enter a new team. After the end of the 2022 Indycar season, Colton signed a multi-year contract extension with Andretti that includes the ability to switch to an Andretti owned F1 team.

"Noticias y notas previas a la carrera Rolex 24 en Daytona" - ¡Eh, fanáticos de los autos! Vamos a hablar de algo emocionante: el próximo Rolex 24 en Daytona. Estoy navegando por algunos detalles previos a la carrera y hay mucho de qué hablar. #Rolex24 Primero, una rápida lección de historia para aquellos que no están familiarizados: el Rolex 24 es una carrera de resistencia de autos deportivos de 24 horas organizada en el Daytona International Speedway en Daytona Beach, Florida. Es como el Bonkers del Mundo del automovilismo, y siempre me entusiasma las semanas previas a este evento. Automobili Lamborghini está lanzando su primera copa de un solo fabricante en América del Norte este año, lo cual es bastante interesante. También se hablará mucho de la última etapa de la Copa Porsche GT3, que verá a 31 equipos compitiendo este año. Por si eso no fuera suficiente para bombearte... imagina esto. Solo una broma. Las Carreras de Resistencia son una excelente demostración de durabilidad, fiabilidad y trabajo en equipo. Son una prueba real para los autos y los conductores. #EnduranceRacing Lo que me emociona en particular es ver cómo se desempeñará el #CadillacRacingTeam en la pista como resultado de los ajustes de su V8 turboalimentado por IMSA justamente antes del evento. Este es un evento realmente imperdible para cualquier fanático de los autos. Por otro lado, Wayne Taylor Racing está cambiando las cosas al aumentar la potencia de su máquina. Conocemos la habilidad del equipo de Wayne Taylor para cambiar las cosas rápidamente y de manera inteligente. Este ajuste enérgico seguramente generará un gran impacto en la pista. En lo que respecta a los vehículos LMP2, sin duda será un espectáculo ver a estos corredores de caballos de potencia pura golpeando la pista. En particular, estoy emocionado de ver cómo el auto DragonSpeed liderará la carga. El Equipo Penske dejó un vacío enorme en la serie, por cierto, saliendo al final de la temporada 2021. Quiet but happy might be the best way to describe Rinus Veekay. He usually has a grin for the camera or a goofy but endearing move to show off. He shows flashes of brilliance on track, highlighted by his annual performance in the Indy 500, qualifying on the front row in two of his three attempts at the race (and 4th in the other). His team, ECR, is traditionally very good there. An avid cyclist, he suffered a broken left clavicle, requiring surgery, while on a ride from Detroit to Chicago with his trainer in 2021. His catchword is “Yeet.”

Las opciones de entrada a tiempo completo para la temporada 2024 de la Indycar están prácticamente en uno... ¡sólo queda un equipo! Eso es un pequeño "quirk" o peculiaridad en la historia del automovilismo, ¿no les parece? Venga, vamos a hablar un poco sobre el asunto. Primero, la noticia es que DragonSpeed, uno de los equipos más destacados en el último tiempo, ha confirmado su compromiso con la serie, y planea hacer una oferta por ese último cupo. Sí, mis queridos seguidores de las carreras de Indycar, parece que no van a tener muchos nuevos equipos a los que animar en 2024. #IndyCar La competencia ha sido dura en las últimas temporadas, y parece que no va a cambiar. Pero, permítanme añadir este punto, ¿están los equipos que quedan preparados para este reto? Esa es la pregunta del millón de dólares. Y aquí es donde viene la diversión: ¿qué significa esto para los fans y los corredores? ¿Cuál será el diseño impactante y las características curiosas o "features" que traerán los coches de este último equipo? Vamos a darle un vistazo más de cerca a DragonSpeed. Con sede en la Florida, han tenido una conexión con la Indycar que se remonta a hace varias temporadas, pero sólo compitieron a tiempo completo en la serie por una vez.
