Bertha's Battle: A Story of Resilience and Faith in the Face of Adversity
Bertha Kreinhop's story of faith and survival is a true testament to the resilience of the human spirit. In her book, "Bertha's Battle," Bertha shares her inspiring journey through a life filled with unimaginable challenges, including the loss of her parents, a debilitating illness, and the horrors of World War II.
Despite these hardships, Bertha never lost faith in herself or her higher power. She remained steadfast in her beliefs and found the strength to carry on, even when the odds seemed insurmountable. Her unwavering faith and determination to overcome adversity serve as a powerful reminder that we are capable of overcoming any obstacle in our path.
Bertha's story is a source of inspiration for anyone who has ever faced adversity in their own lives. Her unwavering faith and unshakeable spirit serve as a reminder that no matter how difficult our circumstances may seem, we have the power to persevere and overcome.
At its core, "Bertha's Battle" is a story of hope, resilience, and the enduring power of the human spirit. It reminds us that even in the darkest of times, there is always a glimmer of light, and that with faith and determination, we can overcome anything that comes our way.
So, if you're feeling overwhelmed by the challenges in your life, take a page from Bertha's book and remember that you too have the strength to overcome. Keep the faith, stay determined, and never give up on your dreams. Like Bertha, you too can emerge victorious from life's battles, no matter how daunting they may seem.
Bertha's story also teaches us the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity. Throughout her life, she faced numerous obstacles that would have caused many others to give up. But Bertha never gave up. She never let her circumstances define her or determine her future. Instead, she stayed focused on her goals, and through hard work and determination, she achieved them.
Another lesson we can learn from Bertha's story is the power of faith. Despite the challenges she faced, Bertha never lost faith in herself or in her higher power. She believed that with God's help, she could overcome anything. And her faith gave her the strength and courage she needed to keep going, even when things seemed impossible.
Finally, Bertha's story reminds us of the importance of community. Throughout her life, Bertha was surrounded by people who loved and supported her. From her family and friends to her fellow survivors of World War II, Bertha found strength in the connections she had with others. And it was this sense of community that helped her persevere through even the toughest times.
In conclusion, Bertha's story is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and determination that lies within each of us. It teaches us that with faith, perseverance, and the support of those around us, we can overcome even the greatest challenges. So, no matter what you're facing in your life right now, remember Bertha's story, and keep pushing forward. You too have the power to overcome and emerge victorious from life's battles.

The struggle to become self aware, learning self care, and how to love yourself in order to love others is experienced in the still quiet of the mind. First Meetings (Part 2)
Part 1
* * *
Edmund could not get her out of his head. 2 weeks the Archenlanders had been there, working in the castle. And her. Y/N, he’d found out her name was. He’d see her walking around the castle and the gardens, carrying washing or flowers or on her way to help out in the kitchens. And every time she saw him, she’d smile that small smile that made him feel like he was a part of a secret. He had yet to talk to her again, however. He’d been so busy with meetings and negotiations that he’d barely had time to sleep. It was one of these times, when he had dragged himself out of bed after what felt like only 10 minutes of sleep to drag himself to yet another meeting, that he finally found his chance to talk to her.
Rounding the corner, eyes still blinking away sleep and feet barely scraping across the floor, he let out an ‘oof’ as something barrelled into him. Blinking now in shock, he saw it was a someone rather than a something. Y/N was stood with her hands out in front of her, regaining her balance, but when she too recovered and saw who she had collided with, her eyes widened and she made what he could only assume was an attempt at a half-curtsy.
“Your Majesty…I’m sorry…I wasn’t-”
“It’s alright!” Edmund cut her off, acutely aware that his own cheeks were beginning to redden and he was pretty sure he was smiling like an idiot. Clearing his throat, he frowned at himself before looking back up at Y/N. “Where were you going in such a rush?”
“Oh…I just borrowed this from the library-“ She lifted up a book that he hadn’t noticed she’d been holding, “-and I was going to return it. I know I probably should have asked first but I couldn’t find anyone and I thought since it’s a library I could? But now I think about it it’s probably only for you and your siblings and oh god I’m sorry I’ll put it back right now I-”
He cut off her ramblings with a wave of his hand. “It’s alright honestly. Feel free to borrow any you like. I just…forgive me if I sound rude but, I didn’t know you could read?”
She smiled that secret smile again.
“My father, he always thought it was important for me to have an education. He worked for the King you see, so he brought me back books from the palace and taught me to read.”
Edmund couldn’t help but smile at the girl, glad that he was finally learning something about her. But then he frowned as a thought came to him.
“You must miss him. Your father.”
Her reaction to this made his frown deepen. The smile vanished off her face and was replaced with a steely resilience, the same hard look he’d seen on her face when she had first come to them with the rest of her people and asked him and his siblings to stay.
“No.” Was all she said. “No, I don’t.”
The air was thick with tension, and as Edmund scrambled for something to say to bring back their easy conversation, Y/N beat him to it.
“I should be going. I have work to do.” She smiled at him again, but this time it seemed forced, and it didn’t quite reach her eyes. Before he could say anything to her, she dipped into an awkward half-curtsy and brushed past him.
“Goodbye…” He turned and called to her, and then she was gone.
