Vlad Redemption Real (a glitch in time)
I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS AAAAA putting them under a read more because major spoilers (there's a lot under there I'm so sorry I got carried away this comic is just really incredible)
Vlad coming to this decision on his own is what really makes it for me. The main crew never really asked him or expected him to change. For a lot of the comic, he's the butt of the joke and it's what he deserves. But then he witnessed Danny having his own emotional breakthrough. Being able to see how powerful Danny became after embracing his emotions and letting go of his inner turmoil...like, that did it. He finally let himself look inward too, recognizing his own faults and the hurt that he had caused himself all these years. The focus of the scene is Danny, but I love how clear it is that Vlad's entire perspective just shifted, too
The moment where he tells Dark Danny that because he's part-Plasmius too, that means he's full of emotions, and that he's full of fear......my jaw dropped. Vlad admitting that he's deeply afraid of being alone, and that he pursued ultimate power in the hopes it could fix his loneliness. Doing so hurt all of the people he wanted to have in his life, and made sure he would never recieve the love he so desperately wanted. He says this in front of all of the people that he hurt the most, and he doesn't ask for forgiveness from any of them.
(Also fear being Vlad's driving emotion behind his power, just....ruin me.)
BUT HE TAKES IT A STEP FURTHER. No one is suggesting that Dark Danny needs to overshadow someone as a solution to his unstable form. Vlad comes forward unprompted and offers himself up, as an apology. An apology to the people of his timeline that he hurt, and to Dark Danny. He isn't the Vlad that created Dark Danny, but he knows the potential to be that guy was always in him, so he takes the faults of that other Vlad on his own shoulders. And still, he isn't seeking forgiveness, just a second chance. More time, to do something good with his life before it's gone. Danny tells Vlad he still hates him, but thanks him, and the smile Vlad responds with is everything to me. They're not friends. The wounds he caused aren't healed. But that little thank you is proof that Vlad is already making a difference in the world
He gets to be a guardian to Dark Danny!!!! He gets a family!!!! And it's broken, and hurt, and kind of fucked up, but this is all he ever wanted, and he has the chance now to do better for himself and for Dan. He already understands the root of his problem, the pain and fear that has been driving him all these years. The path forward is gonna be messy and hard for him & Dan, but the first steps are the hardest, and he's already taken them.
All that being said, he better continue being an insufferable fruitloop. Never let the sass die, you silly vampire ghost man.
Sjfkxnskd wow sorry this response turned into a whole essay. This is what happens when you prompt a neurodivergent to talk about their hyperfixations. And I didn't even get into the pompep potential in all of this. Anyways I love Vlad more than ever and agit is perfection.

The Buffy Re-watch: S2E11 (part 2)
Ted
Trigger/Content Warning still in effect for this episode just in case.
Buffy, Joyce and Ted have dinner, Buffy is sent to her room, then Buffy goes out to patrol. She was probably out for about an hour at the minimum, maybe up to 2. So how long as Ted in her room for to be able to read her diary before she got back? Also, 'Vampire Slayer' kind of explainable there Ted.
The threat of being in a mental institution is something we kind of see happen in the comics. During the transition between LA and having just moved to Sunnydale. We see in 'Normal Again' in season 6 what it would have been like if she did end up there.
Buffy in shock after killing a 'human'. It's a massive difference between her reaction and Faith's next season.
I don't like the questions the police ask Buffy during the interrogation scene. If her hit her first, which he did, couldn't that be grounds for self-defence. My knowledge of criminal law is lacking since I haven't done it in a while (I was originally a law student at university before switching to journalism. Still had to learn law for journalism but it was less intense and more focused on legal matters like defamation and copyright).
Yeah, Giles would understand the guilt that comes with murder. I'm surprised Buffy even went to school, I would have just avoided everyone.
The gang wants to help while Giles takes over patrol. Luckily Willow notices Xander's change in behaviour after eating the cookie and knows that something is sus with it.
Ted drugged it. How much of the food he cooked did he drug? PSA: don't drug people or their food. It's illegal. I talked about this before in 'Reptile Boy' this is just a different circumstance, but it still stands. Just don't do it.
Cordelia coming through with the research on Ted. We appreciate her help.
Jenny may have been harsh to Giles earlier in the episode, but she needed to do what was best for her at the time. Her apology just comes at a bad time when vampires are around.
Where did Ted come from? Seriously. He comes from the side of the room where Buffy's bed is. It would have made more sense if he came from the side where her closet, because he could have been hiding in there, but the implication is that he was hiding under her bed waiting for her.
Jenny, use the stake, not the crossbow. Because you could hit Giles.
Ted is a robot/android reveal!
Cordelia's sense of style coming in to hep find hidden doors to secret basements of horror.
Ted has literal skeletons in his closet, from his first four wives. That he kept locked in there. And probably could never leave. Holy fuck.
After seeing Ted glitch, Joyce gets wise to Ted's weirdness.
Cast iron skillets- they make good weapons, just watch Tangled.
Joyce forgives Buffy for what happened after finding out about the other wives and the attempted kidnapping. Does she not know that he was a robot yet? Because Joyce knows by season 4, but it seems like she doesn't know here and Buffy is trying to cover that up.
jenny and Giles are back together again. We like to see this, but it won't last long unfortunately. It makes Cordy and Xander happy too, at the very least.
Robo Ted is a nightmare of a character. His victims deserved better than the life they were subjected to because of him. The terror they must have suffered knowing that one wrong move and he could hurt them or kill them. The worst part is knowing that things like this happen in real life. The only fantastical element to this episode is the fact that he is a robot. How many horror stories have you heard of women being in abusive relationships and not being able to leave because the man they are with won't let them, because they control so much of their lives. Not being believed about the things you have suffered due to them because they put up such a good front of being the nicest guy around to everyone but when you're alone with him, there is nothing stopping him from showing you his true side. Joyce was lucky that she had Buffy to see through Ted's bullshit and to stop him before she ended up another one of his victims. Not everyone is so lucky to have that support behind them. I know in my own circumstance, while nowhere near as extreme as this, or many other stories you might find out there, I didn't have the support needed to be able to get out of it quick enough before plenty of damage was done. And years later I am still dealing with what happened. I hope any of you reading this never have to suffer this, and if you have, I am sorry that happened to you and I hope you are able to get to a better place in your life.
I'm going to leave it here. This turned into a heavier episode that I thought. Tomorrows episode will be a bit lighter.

do you have any tips on writing Aro? I love the way you write him, and i want to do a better job than i am. he only has a small part in this fic but i feel he could easily just take over when Carlisle shows up lol
Oh that's hard to answer.
There's no official process to it when I decide how to characterize someone, it all just happens rather automatically, which makes it tough to explain to others.
Though, with Aro it's actually simpler than it is with a lot of other characters, since there are so many thing that make him unique.
The man is over three thousand years old, and he has a gift that means every time he touches a person he knows every single thought that person has ever had. His vampire brain makes it impossible for him to forget a second of his own life or even of the minds he has touched. He has ruled the vampire world with for over a thousand years, enforcing a law he came up with where breaking it means your death, no second chances and no alternative punishments (not counting those who are made to join his guard). Rather than brute numerical force, Aro decided to conquer the world with gifts and strategy. He killed all those who would stand against him, refused to yield, or who in other ways were an inconvenience to him. He killed his own sister even though he loved her, and when he thought his friend Carlisle had harboured an immortal child he was ready to kill him as well.
So, even before my interpretation of the character enters the stage, there are a few things we know about him.
He's intelligent
Too often I see Aro dumbed down to the point where it's unfeasible this guy could ever have conquered anything, nevermind the world. He's made into a comic book villain and easily outmaneuvered, usually by the Cullens even though the Cullens have zero military experience (save for Jasper, but Jasper's field of expertise is newborn armies. He knows how to use brute strength and quantity strategically, when outsmarting that entire school of military philosophy is exactly how Aro got to the top in the first place. Jasper's out of luck).
Of course, Aro had Caius and Marcus with him, taking over the world wasn't a solo mission, but if one of those three had been a weak link, the Volturi would not have succeeded. They each contribute, and more, Aro is the one who realised what talents were needed and held the group together.
You're looking at a man who understands people and sees their strengths and weaknesses, sees opportunities where others don't, who understands how best to utilise the tools and advantages he has. He is calculating, analytical, and can inspire others.
He's highly intelligent and a force to be reckoned with. If you want your characters to get the better of him you'll have to sell me on it. Either they outsmart him, or he makes a mistake, or both - the important thing is you can't sell him short.
Here's a post @thecarnivorousmuffinmeta wrote on writing intelligent characters I believe would be useful. And while the second part is about writing Tom Riddle, it's generic enough that you could apply it to Aro as well.
His gift colours his relationship with everybody
If he can read every single thought a person has ever had, then he knows them more intimately than anybody else ever will. The person you are when you are with friends, when you are at work, when you are with family, when it's just you, and all the things you won't show to anyone, Aro sees it all. He sees the best and the worst of you.
More to the point, his every relationship has an innate power imbalance where he knows everyone he meets better than they know themselves from the start, while they know only what he chooses to show them. That is, in turn, extremely isolating since most people aren't going to put up with that.
I think Aro likely allows those close to him a set of boundaries. If someone doesn't wishes to have their mind read and he disrespects that, he's signalling that there is nothing they can do to shield their mind and, in turn, themselves from him. A very effective way of establishing dominance against criminals, to be sure, and the members of his guard can't very well refuse their leader to know what they know, but when it comes to personal acquaintances such as Carlisle or the wives, he would be shattering the trust between them by forcing his gift upon them.
Aro is living in a strange world of his own where he knows everyone around him so much better than anybody else does, but that very gift is isolating and means he can't ever have a normal interaction.
His gift also gives him a unique vulnerability. Unlike Edward, he can't be blocked, which is great when you want as much information as possible, but it also means he can't be blocked. He's getting every goddamn thought. If he touches Rosalie, he'll see her rape from her point of view, and know exactly what was going through her mind at the time, and he will see her decades of grief and bitter regret at all she will never get to have. I know we all joke about Aro having canonically read Midnight Sun, but he really has seen all the years of Edward knocking his head against a wall muttering, "Angst. Angst. Angst." to himself, just as he has seen the inside of countless of other mentally ill or traumatized people.
The man has to have incredible strength to live with a gift like that. More, a gift like this will shape who is as a person.
And here you can headcanon, as I do, that he is at times reluctant to read a mind he knows won't be pleasant, or that Marcus will use his gift to filter out minds Aro really, really, shouldn't read (such as if a prospective recruit is having funny thoughts about Jane).
I also headcanon that reading a mind can be overwhelming, especially if it's his first time reading someone's mind, and that Aro has to figure out how he's going to navigate this particular person's mind before he can get anything worthwhile out of it.
He's immortal
More often than not, within Twilight or in other fandoms (pour one out for Master of Death!Harry), ancient characters will be portrayed in a way that feels mundane and narrow in scope.
You will get a lot of mocking the mayfly humans who so foolishly believe their blink of an eye time on Earth matters, or that their short-lived empires impress anybody. The immortal character will be too worldly to function, and think very highly of himself simply because he is old. He may or may not have a god complex.
It's a valid interpretation, the world has no shortage of people who are too worldly to function in their teens, and who would get a thousand times more insufferable if they lived to be three thousand years old. The fact that vampires don't mature physically is another factor working against them.
(... and I think I just made myself realise that the way Aro is frequently characterised is in fact what Edward would become, if he got to be that old. Edward talks as if he's much older than he is and considers himself to be very worldly when we meet him, give the guy another three thousand years and you'll be looking at fanon Aro.)
I personally choose to characterise Aro as one who has seen history repeat itself too often to think he's an exception. All the world's most brilliant thinkers, the most well intentioned laws and conscientiously executed governments, it has all fallen, one way or another. It is the nature of things. Aro is not the first man to become an emperor, and while his empire may be the first of its kind, his rule will one day meet its end, and while he can do everything in his power to thwart those who would be his usurpers, he would be a fool to believe it won't happen eventually.
I'll admit that @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin and I have a very specific type when it comes to how we want our immortal characters. We're both fascinated by the perspective you would get on the human race when you get to watch it for long enough, and how little trifles that seem so important to the contemporary mind would cease to matter.
I think Aro views immortals as no bigger than mortals, and that being ancient has been humbling, rather than the opposite.
I like to think I have proof of my interpretation of Aro in his love for human culture and arts. If we were ants to him, he wouldn't see the point in commissioning Solimena- why bother, when he could simply touch the man to learn how he performs his craft, and then teach himself to mimic it? Why be an academic, when our philosophies and scientific findings are the products of lesser minds?
By all accounts the man appears to be perfectly sane
Why I think Aro is sane is covered in this post.
Essentially, while all parties agree that the man is eccentric, I frequently see him characterised as insane (usually a nebulous insane where he's either a childish and infantile man, or he's a neurotic mess, or he's just... Insane™ (think Joker)).
Your fic, your decision, but... I'll just be blunt. I've yet to see insane!Aro done well. I'm sure it could be, I'm a firm believer in "anything can be pulled off if the author is good enough", but I've yet to see it.
I see him as someone easily perceived as mad, and not particularly bothered by that fact. If he was, he wouldn't be so openly himself. If anything, he seems to intentionally cultivate that perception.
A note on writing Dark™ characters
Frankly, this is worth a post of its own, just as the "How to write intelligent characters" bit, but I'll give it a shot.
For lack of a better way to explain this, I shall confess that when I was 13 I was one of those edgy kids who liked dark characters because they're so much cooler than the boring good guys. They hurt innocent people because they're edgy like that. God help me, I shipped Bellamort.
Why do I bring this up, you may wonder, and it's because a lot of the time when I'm reading Aro fic he acts like something 13-year-old me would have found very impressive. Sadly, this means we're now back to Aro being a comic book villain, because in order to have your Dark Aro™ you have to dumb him down and make him edgy (I don't want to give examples of this publicly since it's a small fandom and the examples that come to mind would be from specific and easily identified fics, so you'll have to forgive my being vague. I hope it's clear what kind of characterisation I'm describing, though). He becomes a flat and uninteresting character.
With a character like Aro, who murdered his sister for power, you can't ignore the man has a dark side, but don't write a Dark™ character.
Aro is ruthless, there is no denying that. He can kill anybody, no matter how much he loves them or how much it will destroy him, if he perceives it to be necessary. He killed god knows how many vampires on his way to power, and continues to rule not as a king, but as a judge and an executioner. He has made sure the vampire world knows he will spare no one if they break his law or try to rise up against him, and that is the kind of lesson you can't teach without making examples of countless of covens (And yes, I know Caius exists, but again, if Aro was a weak link here then the Volturi would be known as "those guys who can kill you, but won't").
In spite of this, we see he is capable of being both generous and fair to his subjects. There's a distinct lack of bloodlust, and his admiration for Carlisle points to a sincere appreciation for goodness and morality that you're not going to get from Darky McDarkety Dark.
I view him as a man with demons. He has done unforgivable things, he has to live with the eternal reminder of what he did to his sister in the form of Marcus, and I interpret his choice to present his warm and sincere side to those around him as one made because he is deeply private in his own way, and this seeming openness is a good way to keep the parts of himself he doesn't want to broadcast close to the chest.
Lastly, I'm a nerd
There's no denying my interpretation of Aro is largely inspired by several fictional characters I adore. Examples being:
Emiya Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero, a man who will destroy anyone and anything in pursuit of a cause he has devoted himself to entirely. He kills the only mother he has ever known because saving her would have meant the deaths of hundreds, and he marries the woman he loves even though they both know he will have to kill her to save the world. In the end, when he learns that his cause would only lead to greater destruction, he abandons it even though this means his wife died for nothing and his daughter will die as well. Does he hate himself for these things, yes, does that stop him, no, because he's living a life where it keeps being him who has to make these awful decisions, and every time he tries to choose the one that will save as many people as possible- or kill as few as possible.
Livia from I, Claudius, who is incredibly intelligent, ruthless, will kill her loved ones off, her biggest problems are dealing with fools, and who's ultimately recognised by Claudius as a stabilizing force after she's dead. She is hated by those who recognise her for what she is, save for by Claudius who, though he fears her, grows to understand her.
Claudius from I, Claudius, who doesn't wish to be Emperor, but he remains on the throne to Rome because he knows that the world will fall apart without him.
TL;DR: Write Aro as an intelligent man whose outlook on the world around him is shaped by his gift, one who has attentively watched human history unfold in front of him and learned from this. Make him ruthless because he has to be.
Good luck, I hope this was remotely helpful.

Pspspsps i heard you read bl, u wanna give me some recs?
Ohohoho. You've come to the right place
Tumblr media
So let me give you a couple and tell you a little bit about them.
1. A Man of Virtue
If you like BDSM type stories, this is for you.
Jinwoo is a (seemingly) straight man who encounters a haechi statue while drunk one night and curses his lifelong rival Sangtae before vomiting on said statue.
The next day, anytime Jinwoo comes within 5 feet of Sangtae, he gets these overwhelming, erotic, BDSM fantasies.
The two work together to figure out the cause of the fantasies, the solution, and how to get them to stop.
It's fucking HYSTERICAL.
Their dynamic is so interesting.
It's a breath of fresh air from the normal feminine, dainty bottoms most authors write about.
2. Love or Hate
If you like love triangles... boy, do I have the triangle-ist of love for you.
Haesoo is a freelance writer who often gets sucked into the drama of his former step-brother, Joowon.
The two explored their sexuality together when their parents got remarried to each other.
Haesoo, sick of waiting on Joowon to stop being a dick and admit his feelings, encounters K, a photographer from Japan known for his lewd pictures.
He is tasked with writing a piece about K and conducting an interview, but the two end up hitting it off.
Honestly, this one was kind of gut wrenching for me. The emotional turmoil Haesoo experienced throughout was hard to get through, but it has a happy ending.
This one is depressing with a bit of humor sprinkled in here and there.
If you can read about a main character who thoroughly and 100% hates himself and make it through to the end, this one is for you.
3. The Dangerous Convenience Store
AHJUICY.
Ahem.
If you like a big, seemingly emotionless top who only gets emotional about his bottom, this one is for you.
Euijoon is a college student who works at a convenience store in a terrible neighborhood riddled with gang activity.
One night, a man shows up and saves him from a rude customer. After that night, the man continues to show up at the same time to buy alcohol and cigarettes.
Euijoon, out of curiosity more than anything, becomes infatuated with this man.
The man, who has been straight his entire life (he's like 40...), is confused about his adoration for Euijoon and decides to pursue him.
This one is a helluva ride. I dont even know Ahjuicy's real name cause Euijoon calls him Ahjussi the entire comic.
There is some violence (gangs are involved, what do you expect?)
It does have a happy ending, though.
4. Hold Me Tight
If you like a more feminine top and a more masculine bottom, this is for you.
Felix is being blackmailed into becoming Giovanni's body guard all so the guy who is blackmailing him can take Gio down.
Only, Gio has a condition where he doesn't feel warmth. Even a fire would not keep him warm. He has spent many of his nights cold and wears coats and scarves in the middle of Summer.
Until he encounters Felix. He feels warmth from Felix.
With Felix's motives not being so pure, how will their relationship pan out? Especially when Gio actively seeks out his warmth.
Felix is pretty masculine for a bottom. He is a black belt.
Gio is pretty weak as a top. He owns his own company and needs constant protection.
This was a very interesting dynamic.
It was a roller coaster of emotions, but DAMN the way their relationship progressed was too damn good.
These two hold such a special place in my heart.
5. The Unquenchable Mr. Kim
This one has a bad rep. I literally only half understand the bad rep and I'll get there.
Dooyun is half vampire, half human, but he can't drink blood to survive. In fact, eating doesn't even help him survive. He has to obtain a humans "essence" in order to stay alive. If he doesn't, he gets very sick and could die.
How do you obtain this essence, you ask? Guess. 😉
So anyway, his boss, Kangwoo, offers him a proposition after Dooyun accidentally sends him a message about finding a new sex partner. The message was supposed to go to someone else.
The only problem? Kangwoo's essence isn't strong enough to keep Dooyun alive.
As the two fall for each other, how will Dooyun survive???
The smut is A fucking PLUS.
The art isn't very good in the beginning, but it gets SO beautiful by the end.
The reason it has a bad rep has a lot to do with two important characters that were very poorly executed. It's only 65 chapters, but the author could have stretched it to over 100 so easily. As an author myself, I can overlook poorly executed characters in favor of a good storyline.
These are all finished works that I really enjoyed. Special mentions also include BJ Alex, Insecret (about an idol group), Hold Me Safe, Love So Pure, In My Closet (also about an idol group), A Life Without You, My Way With You, and Cherry Blossoms After Winter.
Ongoing works that I am currently reading (the list is long, so prepare yourself) includes: Pearl Boy, Under The Greenlight, Jinx, Steel Under Silk, Painter of the Night, Again, Low Tide in Twilight (omegaverse), Limited Run, Speak of the Devil, The Pawn's Revenge, Aporia, The Pizza Delivery Man and the Gold Palace, Opposites Attract, Anemone Theater, The Ghost's Nocturne, Stranger Than Friends, Checkmate, Mad Place, Semantic Error, Liveta (HEAVY ON THIS ONE. It's on hiatus but I have NEVER seen world building this good), Payback, It's Just A Dream... Right?! (Heavy on this one too. The top is DREAMY.), The Words in Your Snare, Don't Build My Hopes Up (this one made me realize I have major trust issues, lmao), Punch Drunk Love, Missing Love (this one is not for the faint of heart. It is DARK.), You Get Me Going.
I keep track of what I have read with ratings and comments in a notebook. I was thinking of transferring the data to my computer and posting it sometime. I've read over 70 works so far with a lot of ongoing works. I'd be so incredibly happy to share.
There are some works that I have finished that I didn't really care for. There are also a couple of works that I am reading that are ongoing that just don't have enough oomf to be mentioned here. I have dropped one that I won't even mention. It doesn't even deserve to be mentioned. If you want my list, it will be mentioned there, but that's it.
Sorry for the long post, I just got so excited 😭

Grandpa Emerson set up the Frog brothers to die instead of Michael and Sam theory/Rant
Tumblr media
The Frog brothers are the last members of a very old hunting family that emigrated to America specifically to kill off one line of vampires (Max and Vlad) who are descended directly from Dracula in the lost boys: the beginning. From cannon we know that traditionally there is one older hunter who is retiring and one new hunter who is 18 and they hunt together until the young hunter is trained.
The only hunter we know of who is retiring in Santa Carla is Grandpa Emerson.
It's well known that there are vampires in Santa Carla, Max has been there since 1900s. David, Marco, Paul and Dwayne (plus Jasper?) have also been there since the 1900s.
The Frog brother's parents aren't training them in any way.
The Frogs knew where the Emerson house was without being told and Grandpa Emerson states he never goes into town and it's cannon he lives off the land he owns as much as he can.
Grandpa Emerson grows weed and the Frog's brothers are constantly so high that they might be dead (Running joke) it's not a stretch to think that he's their pot dealer and the beer and oreos he has are brought to him by the Frog's when they pick up their parent's weed.
The Frogs know more about the vampires in town than the comic book they give Sam so they have to get the info from somewhere.
Despite being 18 Michael hasn't ever met his Grandpa and Lucy left for college which means that she hasn't been home for approx 20 years. Which would suggest that he doesn't want them to be there despite being very close with Lucy. It would also make sense with his wife dead and vampires stopping him from going into town to move to Pheonix with Lucy.
Given that he doesn't tell Lucy about the vampires until she's literally survived an attack it would seem he has been trying to stop her, Sam and Michael from getting involved with the vampires which would go against the hunting tradition. Max/ David picked out Michael to be killed by Star on the first day that he arrived before he'd seen Lucy which would imply that He and David assumed he could be the new hunter training with Grandpa Emerson.
We know that there is Cannon beef with Edgar and Grandpa in the later films and comics but it's never really talked about. We also know that with the Lost girls and Widow Johnson plot Grandpa Emerson likely dies (It's never confirmed but his death is described as horrifying and Sam who supposedly witnessed it with Edgar and Alan goes insane right after his Grandpa's rumoured death and then gets turned into a vampire and tried to hunt down Edgar)
It would make sense if Grandpa Emerson knew he couldn't keep the vampires from fully taking over Santa Carla anymore or protect Lucy, who he kept in the dark about his past, and decided to offer up the doppelgangers of the Frogerie Brothers who are from the hunting family Max and David thought they had killed off. It would also make it more understandable why Sam really blames Edgar for Grandpa Emerson's death/murder by widow Johnson. Why would Edgar bust his ass to save the guy that was training him to be bait? He certainly isn't obligated to. Despite Sam feeling, Edgar was at fault for his Grandpa's death Lucy has no issue with the Frog brothers until after Edgar had to kill Sam. We know Lucy is lenient but wouldn't be forgiving of her dad, who she's incredibly close with in the films, unless she felt he was at fault. It makes sense that something made it reasonable for Edgar to be absolved especially with Lucy.
TLDR: Did Grandpa Emerson set up the Frog brothers to be vampire bait? Probably.

Macs no I know it and we're trying to run the code that says it and we're trying to run it now and yeah it's a little late it usually is he's got a car up in Canada and this guy John remillard is never going to deliver it he says and we agree until he's dead and Lily is going to and she wants to be in the carnival and he says isn't it funny you don't make millions but you probably be happy with it and so would I and you would have a nice guy and I'd have my lady she says it's ridiculous this is so much stupid s*** this as well can I have to be done she gets it though and she's a little mad about it but she likes what you say you go in there and you have a good time and they're hanging out supposed to be missing his wife but she shows up and going to see someone can run real fast
Hahaha it's funny cuz you see stuff moving and flying around and he's terrorizing around the corner almost at like a 45° angle and booking it after her I'll tell you what she's probably bigger now but it is funny we can't catch other one of them slow. Like that sloth raising his hand and the guy was very happy and he said you have to go in there not there he knows the stuff out there it's got to go up there they don't like going up there so he was terrified of something and we found out it was a big cat and we did put the cat sleep and moved it but someone did we did see it happen and the guy went out there we we do see this so good idea and he was okay but he was asking for help now these big cats are getting displaced and the stuff out there I've never seen elk run like that and he doesn't know what it is it seems and they run and stop and we went over what it was and someone said they knew and I don't think so it was upstate New York near one of the cities up there and that's the property area of Cloverfield and yeah they're nasty and we have seen him and animals are terrified of them they have shark radar and they can harm animals and they book it and they're blind with terror we come to one of them down we calmed a lot of them down and put them in a holding area and they didn't want to go anywhere so they were dear they can't do much with them and turn into a big petting zoo I'm still going on and they don't care yeah some people make noises and they get taken away and the deer happy they want to go back when it's clear they say it too and we say we don't know where that will be so we have to go check the woods to see what it is but really this car is being fought over it's in Montreal and hers actually is it's in he thinks it's New Hampshire and he was in it and they rented one but that's not the case they drove theirs and hers is white they are making them in the factory near Montreal and Terry she's been come back and is Terry cheesman and it's just north of Quebec and still right from the center North and that's very weird that's how they talk though they want to use it to go up to the clones
Macs
That one was pressurized and we don't think on purpose and a friend he was having trouble his body is the size of a 3 year old child it's not really wrecked or anything but he did this a few times at school and learn he learned that it comes out the back like a Canon. He didn't once and almost laughed so loud but he held the laugh in and he said excuse me and some kids were snickering and there was a guy behind him who kept saying don't do that again. And he was serious cuz I can impress and we heard him say I'm not really in control of it and also all of a sudden you ripped out again and he said why don't you go outside to do that and it was was not John remillard it was Doug and he's a he said it in space so look I'm like a young guy any of those by size my breath stinks also to widget and he's calm down he said boy does that stink and he wasn't laughing he was talking to the teacher and she just said it's not slow and you're an idiot so it comes up to you idiot I'm in your grade what grade are you in Jesus and the guy looked at him and said oh yeah so you try to go to the teacher and say you didn't know but the teacher heard it and told them to leave and it wasn't Ellie and it was a trumpster so you got home and you're in the same house you soon a little he's trying to tell on you and you told your mom's secretly cuz it's fun and she came out and said what happened today in school I noticed that you were shaking and he says no wasn't that bad this kid ripped a good one I couldn't stand it all sudden she started laughing and said later on we hear that you're going pah pah and have trouble holding your breath and she said why you acting like such a wimp about a fart for it's a man thing and so he got really mad and went to his room. And these guys are b****** about farting and just saying this it smells bad it could be bad it says people don't say that because we're not stupid you said you had beef it's what's for dinner that's what's for dinner last night and beans and cabbage I mean what's wrong with you so if you came this big joke cuz whenever you farted he's going to whatever your party that's terrible after I fart and he was really annoying and people laugh because he's so sensitive so wherever you went you're trying to fart noises is waving his arms around and his body's moving it's trying to hold his breath and he's saying pah pah and some other weird noises so yeah he's really sensitive to that and I don't know how we get on this but I remember him trying to hold it his butt my point is self onto the chair and he says yeah I was doing that he's doing it real hard and if it made this really really loud noise and so he's telling the guys to do it he told Doug he said no this is probably he said it's like clamped myself down I was like pulling advice and trying not to but I think you guys will get into it and then the teachers need it and stuff I need to learn things it was pretty tough for any time he was better teaching methods little easier so they start laughing and trying to get teaching better and I feel like doing it and you can see him grab it on since they were trying not to like he did he turned to a madhouse detention. So there's detention and he's going I got in trouble additionally because I had people farting and trying to clamp down on the seat so I'm trying to do it I wanted really big one and it was Scott and Smith and the teacher came back and it stunk and asked who it was it says we need to go outside we could do that I'm in detention. So we hear it going around it's really stupid story there's a young young person and you don't know what you're dealing with. He needs to be helped and you're morons is supposed to be the support network it's a nightmare how many times you have to prove your idiots I think Jesus Christ.
And oh yeah we're talking about Hera's car and he got sidetracked so did I and she's testing it and he always screws up and he's got issues.
It's up there above Quebec and a storage facility and it's not a cheap one it's not massively expensive but it's temperature controlled in atmosphere controlled and temperature alone won't do it as he knows and she's going to have it at the same time he does we do it with other vehicles and it's going to be big and our calculations show the end of March it's already tomorrow she says which means what we need at the end of March you're going to start growing during March this is right now I get this ringworm itch and it's really out there you know about that it should go away keep treating it okay yep he's going to do it and look forward to Comic-Con and wearing the real thing and it's going to be intense it'll be a lot of them out there and Dave had a bane thing and it's kind of like the one in the comic book. He also wore the jacket that was in the comic book and you put it on and his little thinner now the brought it in and now Brad wants to do the roll and we heard we heard it too and I probably threw Brad gets knocked out and Tommy f takes it over and has Trump give the signal for them to take the ship and it's really a high-tech it actually is and he needs to text but it's only one chip so it'll be taking that we will be taking that
Macs
Well that's interesting. So it's about my car not you ripping a fart. And yeah I have Brian do that this is I'm trying to send alien signals to their leader you know I just couldn't help it and I think I'm getting bit or something so we had a good day and he went out to the park and relaxed a little and people were trying to relax and it was tough but they did it and there's things to decide about what was happening Dan was under the influence of Tommy f we couldn't help it and you got beat up every time you have in this guys and somebody broke up but really this is good information for them and they're saying that it was Max then it said it was Mac and really they're kind of liars about everything and I don't want them around my house when they got to get out of here
Hera
We're going to try and move them out pretty soon and over the diamonds which are going nowhere but the ships have to come out and then the fight over the diamonds in the tunnels there's a lot of them probably twice as many larger ones as they were along the whole perimeter of Florida and that's believable he says because there are formed really deeper down and the tunnels are deeper and below the crust and still there's another one and he didn't know about it but he knows it's deeper so this how it goes there's some weird stuff out there and these people are out there and it's honest whatever it is hours I say
Macs
No it's not and we're going after it and their hours and we know what they are

like always this is going to be Obviously a Spoiler Free Review of The Batman 2022 coz i don't want to spoil the movie for others but more than a Review this is about my feelings and how i felt after watching the film and it might be short or long af so if you want to skip this, then this is The perfect time to do it
First things first More over i can't believe that i really watched The Batman for Real like for Real ??? i was so excited for this film since years and now i finally watched it and i am about to talk about it here with y'all but i still cant beleive this i am in denial lol anyways Talking about the Film
This is the most Realistic Batman movie we are ever going to witness for a very long time and this is the most gayest live action Batman , Bruce Wayne character is so fucked flawed and he has gone mad shit crazy over in his head and he is not living in the real world , he is so very very very much disconnected to real world and we can underatand why he is behaving like that in the film but we can not relate to him , This version of Batman is very different from every other versions of batman we have seen so far and Matt Reeves is a Freaking Legend for designing him that way and i felt Robert Pattinson nailed the role and he was really cool af thru out the film in every damn scene .
Tumblr media
Usually during my every film review its just me writing 3000 words long ass essay and screaming and begging y'all to watch movie i liked and enjoyed but this time i am not going to do that , The Batman ( 2022 ) is upto you , you can watch or you can skip it if you want bcoz this film is not for everyone
This Film feels like the most Non-Batman Movie that has been ever made coz of how different it is compared to remaining Batman Flicks but at the Same time this is also the most Batman Film of All Time if that makes any sense 👀 to y'all.
Tumblr media
And Finally we got a director WHO FUCKING UNDERSTANDS BATMAN and knows what drives him and not only just that but he also respects the character and the original source and roots of the character and doesn't interfere much with it and this man got balls of steel or iron or even of fucking Vibranium coz of the he dealt with the movie and the way he designed the characters , set the tone and way he finished and made a very perfect Film at the end and having Said that The Batman movie has got many flaws here within itself but again it is perfect in its own way .
I am so very Happy for my guy Paul Dano 😭❤ Bcoz everyone who watched the movie are loving him and praising him so much and he deserves all that praise , love and admiration and he really killed it with his acting in the film i will not say this is his best performance coz i still think his performamce was so fucking magical and incredible and out of this world in There will be blood ( 2007 ) but i will Say his performance in The Batman is a very powerful performance , You can literally FEEL HIS PRESENCE IN EVERY FUCKING SECOND IN THE FILM to the point where it gets so freaking scary 😭 if you see the movie you will know what i mean , Riddler is C or D grade character in comics and i never really liked him and always felt like this is the time of character johhny sins would play in his porn parodies but Matt Reeves this genius mf picked a character like that and made him the whole ass villain in his very first Batman Instalment and casted Paul Dano in it and he nailed it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i am so proud of Robert Pattinson coz he is such a great actor and a Director's actor who gives what the director wants and respects the script and doesn't really mind even if other characters are written strongly than his character and doesn't mind even if those characters outshine him , he genuinely respects the craft and i love him very much for that , i used to hate him so fucking much when i saw him in those vampire films and i hated him so much back then that i wanted him to fail as an actor in hollywood coz of the how horrendous he acted in those films ( pls don't judge me it was long time and i was a small ass kid 😭 ) and now i love this weird lying piece of shit so fucking much and I'd take a bullet or two for him , i love him so much and i respect him and admire him a lot for his work , passion , dedication and the realistic charm that he brings in most of the characters he played after twilight and i am so very very very happy for him now he is a very big star now after The Batman and he has reached the big leagues in hollywood , i am so proud of him 😭💙
Zoë Kravitz really doesn't have a lot of screen time or impact in the film sadly :/ but i am not dissapointed coz i feel she's coming back again and this is not the last of her in the franchise , She did add lot of sexiness to the film with her character tho and Selina was really interesting sadly like i said before i felt i didn't get enough of her screen time 😭 and please don't attack me when i say this but i already love Jeffrey Wright's Jim gordan so much and i feel this is the best version of jim gordan we have ever got and if anything bad happens to him in the future films Matt reeves is going to have to deal with me, Andy Serkis also got less screen time but he was great with what he was given to play and broooooooo Colin Farrell is so damn hilarious as Oz 😭💀 I KNOW HE HAD SO MUCH FUN PLAYING THE CHARACTER and can't wait to see more of him in the future
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My very only visible disappointment with the movie is the background score :/// , i am not saying it is bad but it could be more great imo
In Conclusion i just want to say The Batman is Great , please do watch it if you can in cinemas but don't expect what you usually expect from a batman flick , The Batman ( 2022 ) is different , Stylish and unique in its own way and this Mf Matt Reeves set a very painfully slow burning pace & tone to the film but if you are patient enough and can get thru it you might see his vision and enjoy the film so yeah The Batman is freaking great and cool , Do not miss it
Tumblr media
having Said All of this Shit , This is just the fucking starters lmfaoo , we are yet to eat the Main course and Deserts ( i am talking about the The batman sequels duhhh) in the future and The Batman has set the perfect atmosphere for that , i could go on and on and on but that's it for now

So I've had a little while to percolate on Midnight Mass and the primary topic of conversation between my wife and I (aside from vampires hot, giving in to desire hot, everything else unbearably sad and fucked up) has been Monsignor Pruitt's culpability in the events of the show.
It's abundantly clear that Bev is the catalyst for a lot of the more culty business that goes down. I actually was expecting that she'd survive the die off and we'd get to watch her starve to death alone on the torched island (something something rapture something something community something something individualism) but that could open up a set of plot holes so I'm pretty satisfied with her fate. She kickstarts the spiral, she threatens Pruitt with exposure, every move she makes is uniquely self-interested, which is what makes her such an incredible villain.
However, some of the discussion I've seen unilaterally blames her for the events and paints Pruitt as this flawed but ultimately good hopeless romantic which is wildly unsurprising but ultimately a shallow reading. Pruitt is a spectacular character; he's deeply human and even I can recognize that without the vocabulary to understand the true nature of the vampire, his logic about bringing it back to heal his community appears to come from a place of compassion. He doesn't know what's going to happen after he dies; how could he? But even before the bloodlust and the mass suicide, Pruitt does something so sinister under the guise of community and connection that I struggled to feel bad for him at all. He offers to host Riley's AA meetings on the island.
Court-mandated AA and NA is widely considered a quarter measure in many harm reduction circles. Painting AA as a one size fits all program to fix addiction (which is a social issue of great nuance) is a disservice to the program and those who choose to use it, and mandating it is, to be mild, unhelpful. Riley appears to get little from the program even as he follows the steps; he speaks about RR as a program that would better meet his needs, but because of his parole, he needs to attend AA. At first, he's able to leave the island for his meetings, but then Pruitt begins hosting them in the rec center, which is just a spectacular examination of how Christianity uses state-mandated programs as a sort of anglerfish lure.
To clarify, I'm Jewish, but I was an Al Anon kid which meant I spent a substantial portion of my childhood in churches. Churches LOVE to host AA and Al Anon. They LOVE to get people in the door under the guise of community and necessity and oh, if you happen to take a brochure or sign up for our listserv or leave a couple dollars that's fine too! It's not subtle, but it is insidious, and in Midnight Mass, that pressure only increases tenfold. Riley goes from being literally anonymous to sitting alone in a room with this guy who knows him weirdly well in a rec center with his fucking name on the sign. It's almost comical in its awkwardness.
We already know Pruitt singles out pariahs. He recognizes the members of the community that don't fit and while his intentions may appear good, it's actually all about gaining their allegiance. Any surface level concern he may have for Joe (Joseph! To be brought into the fold!) immediately goes out the window when he uh, fucking murders him. Bloodlust or no, Joe is nothing but a tool for him to use in his pursuit of Riley as an apostle. Pruitt's AA meetings are little more than recruitment sessions, where he entraps vulnerable people to pass along his doctrine, which is exactly what he does after Riley is attacked.
But Riley doesn't buy it. He never bought it, because the program was forced upon him. He craves pragmatism and personal responsibility, to be lost in the larger scheme of the universe. When given an option for absolution, a so-called gift, he returns to sender. Riley is not a good person, as the narrative reminds us over and over, but his guilt makes him human. Pruitt's lack of guilt, his scheming, his warped motivations make him a monster long before they lock the doors of the church. Even his love for Millie does not absolve him of that.

The Buffy Re-watch: S2E7 (part 1)
Lie to me
Playground equipment moving in the wind, not unsettling at all. How many horrors feature this type of thing at the beginning of their films or TV shows?
Then Drusilla comes in, stalks and tries to kidnap a child to amp up the creepy. Well done.
Angel appears and he and Dru have history, which makes sense because if he knew Spike, he would know Dru. We find out later what their real connection is and whoa boy, it is a doozy.
The kicker here is that Buffy sees it all. Doesn't take a genius to work out that they know each other.
Hold on! Giles, wants Buffy to have the night off? Did he get replaced by an alien? Or did he finally listen to his slayer about having a healthy work/life balance?
Passing notes in class. Something I never did in school. I didn't do a lot of things in school. God, my time at school was shit. This is not a new realisation, just remembering.
An old friend of Buffy's appears, probably one of the few she has left from LA, Billy Fordham.
If you have never heard the Divinyls song 'I touch myself' take 3 guesses as to what it's about and the first 2 don't count. This song was also famously used in 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery' in the scene where he dance fights the fembots towards the end of the film.
Willow's realisation as to the meaning of the song steals the scene for me.
Angel, honey, sweetie, learn to tell your sort of girlfriend the truth. Things would go much easier if you did.
Ford knows Buffy is the slayer. Buffy keeping being the slayer a secret identity is on par with James Bond keeping secret that he is a spy. Both of them are shit at it.
Mysterious club with very heavy metal doors? Never a good sign. And oh look, vampire wannabes.
Ford taking meds and wanting to turn into a vampire. Hmm, me thinks something is up.
Angel appearing again, but at Willow's house because he rightfully thinks Ford is being sus, and Willow confirms this with the school having no record of him having transferred.
Giles understands that Ford is cute, and that Buffy thinks he is too.
Ford came prepared, he has that going for him, but is still sus.
So, the entire club is made up of delusional people who believe that vampires are fluffy bunnies, and that they are really just misunderstood. Not in this universe they aren't. Hell, Angel and Spike while ensouled can still turn into rage machines if the occasion calls for it. They don't even know that one of the most feared vampires in history is standing right in front of them, that would be terrifying to know. To which I now have to ask, is there much in the way of vampires being good? There's Hellsing where Alucard and Seras are good, Blade from the Marvel comics, Alucard from Castlevania (loved the Netflix series by the way and looking forward to the next one), Underworld has Selene. Are there any others? And not just one or two of them, but where vampires as a whole are the good guys?
Jenny took Giles to go see Monster Trucks... I need to see that.
That angry mob in Prague did a shite job of killing Dru, since she is still walking around.
Dru is referred to as a 'sometime paramour of Spike's' does that mean they have an on-again-off-again relationship or just a very long term one? Because either is sort of believable, especially with how Dru can be.
Genuine question: do I come across as sarcastic in these posts? Because when I read through my notes in my head I definitely sound sarcastic, same when typing. I'm just curious.
Anyway, part 2 will be tomorrow.
