Muppet Fact #465
Boober Fraggle was named after a rather angry cow in Devon that one of Jim Henson's daughters came across.
Henson said this on the name in an interview:
The Fraggle names- some of them are fun- came from different places. Boober is one of my favorite names. There's a character in Fraggle Rock named Boober. My daughter was in Devon at a farm, and there was this cow- this angry cow because they'd taken her calf away- an angry cow named Boober, and she came back and told me this story of this cow, and we were just laughing hysterically and I said we have to find a character and name him Boober because it's such a great name, and then Fraggle Rock came along a number of months later and so there's Boober on Fraggle Rock now.

This post will probably appeal to only, perhaps, twelve people total.
One of my favorite movies is National Lampoon's Class Reunion (1982). The movie is a mess and it apparently had problems during production in which the story and elements changed many times and John Hughes' original script barely made it to the screen.
With that said, I've always been fascinated by the movie and "what could have been". I finally bought a cheap copy of the photo-novelization with the hopes that it would have some deleted scenes represented. While it DOES show the deleted alternate opening scene (seen HERE), I only saw a few other photos that were clearly from cut scenes but nothing really worth documenting for this post.
However, I did snap a few shots of my two favorite characters played by Zane Buzby and Anne Ramsey!
Part II - I went digging into my magazine collection and found an issue of Cinefantastique, Volume 13, Issue 1 (with Stephen King, George Romero and Tom Savini on the cover promoting Creepshow) and found a great behind-the-scenes article about Class Reunion which indicates a few things that never made into the film - such as this incredible "Poodle Lady" character! She's featured in human form on the cover of the novelization and does in fact appear on some movie posters but aside from that, her character is a complete mystery. Eagle-eyed viewers will catch her in the background during the movie, especially during the dance scenes.
Part III - I posted awhile back this terrific preview comic by Berni Wrightson for promoting the recently released National Lampoon’s Class Reunion in the November 1982 issue of Heavy Metal magazine.
The End!
