What is eLearning for kids?  How do you introduce children to eLearning?
“A mere exchange of information doesn’t engross a child and does not add to his wisdom in any manner” – Benjamin Franklin.
ELearning has brought about a tremendous change in the growth of education sector during the past couple of decades. With the growth of technology and the availability of various digital resources to support eLearning, more and more parents are taking eLearning seriously and coming forward to providing their child a superior and quality education.  Schools and training institutes around the world have adopted an innovative and attractive ways that makes online learning more fun, interactive, engaging and appealing.
A learning system for kids based on the formal method of learning, with the help of technology and digital resources is the manner in which,  we impart eLearning to children.  The use of computers with internet connection forms the basis of eLearning.  ELearning is available  in both online and offline mode.  Various forms of eLearning are one-to-one-learning, group-learning, video-based learning, webinars etc.,
As a kid, children have an innate curiosity within them to learn and explore new things around them. But somewhere down the line, these innate qualities get diminished, and they start disliking school and studies.  Fortunately, there are a number of ways to instill a sense of learning among children and develop interest, confidence, motivation and attitude
Today,  our  new gen kids are tech savvy, who enjoy spending their time in front of their tab, lap or smart phones playing games, which was not the case a couple of decades ago. So introducing them to eLearning shouldn’t be a big deal.  However in recent years, technology has played a meaningful role in the educational sector, by engaging  our young learners to eLearning with courses like Abacus, Coding, Spoken English etc, with captivating imagery interface and animation , gamified learning techniques etc., that are interactive, simple and easy to understand. Online Learning has become increasingly popular as they enable kids to engage and socialize, and   learn at their own pace.
The following are some proven tips and strategies that can help introduce your children to eLearning. They are:
1. Develop an atmosphere of learning for children: The physical atmosphere should be such that it creates and promotes learning activities in children.  The key to developing a good conducive environment is   by engaging with learners, have a playful and gamified activities,  promote discussion and interaction, building positive relationships, supportiveness  etc. Teachers must incorporate movement, interaction and tactile experiences by using manipulation. For instance, take the case of Abacus Course (please refer www.edujournal.com for more details).   Initially, the beads are moved using a device called Abacus, from bottom to the middle partition, or from top to the middle partition of the frame, which are indicating numerical values, from which mathematical calculations can be performed.  In the later stages, with constant practice, the device is physically eliminated, and the figure of Abacus is depicted into our minds, and the calculations are performed with greater speed and accuracy, by the movements of both our hands (ie., on the virtual device placed in our mind).
2. Virtual Classroom sessions: This app enriches classroom experience and provides positive reinforcement and communication management among parents, teachers and student.
3. Introduce game based playful learning:  Gamified learning helps children develop essential skills like logical and math skills, analytical and problem solving skills etc.,   This kind of learning makes the learners to use their imagination and discover new possibilities in a fun and interactive way.  For instance, Flight Simulators used by pilots during their training session is an example of game based learning.
4. Use captivating visuals: Kids respond well to visuals especially when they are engaging and appealing.  Bold and colorful captivating images, graphics, animation etc., can draw children to the learning process. Try to build curiosity and interest in the child and make the session lively and engaging.
5. Affordability and flexibility:  The cost involved for studying in a traditional setting is much higher compared to studying through eLearning. Therefore you can have a high quality education at an economic cost.
6. Making the course content interactive: Have interactive content like quizzes, polls, assignments, projects, chatting, video-conferencing etc., can spark interest in your child. Easy access to course content and engaging course content can improve interest in learning. The classes may also include their parents to enable them experience their child’s development as well as providing support to their kid.
7. Provide a short study material and plenty of tasks for practice sessions: Often, young learners wouldn’t have reached a stage where they can read and understand the content from the study material, which should be avoided.  Instead, narrate by animated visuals on the screen. Also, children have shorter attention spans, and this aspect should be kept in mind while designing an eLearning course material. Provide them shorter activities and also keep them hooked in front of the screen only for a minimum duration.  Use voiceovers instead of text to provide information.
8 Unlocking your child’s interests: Allow children to explore and discover the topics that are of interest to them.  Have a plenty of choices in your curriculum.  Identify your child’s passion and interest and provide them resources that will help them to further explore their interests.
9. Collaborative pedagogy: The emphasis of learners, teachers and parents working together in a group makes learning collaborative and interesting.  Project based learning is one such approach where children can learn topics through problem-solving and improve their competencies.  When your child demonstrates their curiosity by asking a some questions, do your best to answer them promptly and clearly.
10. Be supportive and encouraging: Be encouraging, supportive and motivate your children, without putting undue pressure on them, and do not compare your child’s performance with other students.  When the child experiences some sort of a pressure, there is a strong tendency to withdraw from learning.
The above tips can help you to introduce your children to eLearning.   Online learning broadens ones scope for academic learning by increasing engagement, collaboration through advanced multimedia tools, online resources that provide easy accessibility and flexibility which ultimately enhances their learning experience.   ELearning can provide your child a perfect opportunity to discover their innate creativity, talent and interest. It gives your child a good exposure and a wonderful opportunity to learn new things. But as a parent / guardian of your child, it’s your responsibility to provide the best and appropriate guidance and resources for your child, so that they can utilize their full potential to develop their skills and talent which ultimately benefits their growth and success.  Schools and training institutes should utilize this trend to improve the overall development of the educational sector even more and utilize the digitally assisted learning tools (ie., authoring tools) to improve learning and teaching capabilities.   With everything turning digital, and technologies evolving, it has had its impact in the education sector as well, and eLearning, no doubt, will become the most sought after technology in the years to come.

FLIGHTLINE: 159 - BELL X-2 STARBURSTER
The X-2 was built to investigate the "thermal thicket" at speeds above Mach 2, but the two examples completed had a short service life.
Building on the work of the Bell X-1 and Douglas D-558 aircraft, the X-2 (nicknamed Starburster, though it was rarely used) was designed to explore speeds in excess of Mach 2. Engineer calculations, backed up by flights of the former aircraft, indicated the existence of a "thermal thicket"; that is: escalating aerodynamic heating as speeds increased. As a result, Bell devoted extensive time to development of advanced materials, aerodynamics, and control systems all with the goal of creating an aircraft capable of flying faster and higher than any human had done previously.
Tumblr media

The X-2 incorporated numerous advances over the X-1, including a swept wing and horizontal stabilizer. The airframe was built from K-Monel, an alloy of coper and nickel, as well as stainless steel. An XLR-25 two-chamber throttleable rocket motor provided 2,500 to 15,000 pounds of thrust, burning a mix of liquid oxygen and alcohol. The XLR-25, produced by Curtiss-Wright, was actually based on a WWII RATO bottle developed by Robert Goddard for the US Navy. The aircraft were designed with a skid rather than main landing wheels, though a nose gear was equipped, as well as skids on the wingtips.
Tumblr media

In a worst-case scenario, the cockpit section of the X-2 could be ejected. With stability provided by a parachute, the pilot could then eject the canopy and bail out. Like the Skyrocket and X-1 before it, the X-2 would be carried aloft by a bomber (in this case a Boeing B-50), then dropped to begin its flight.

FLIGHT TEST PROGRAM
X-2 number 1 was chosen to have the first engine installed, so ship #2 was sent to Edwards AFB for initial unpowered tests. The first glide test of the X-2 was on 27 June 1952, and ended rather inauspiciously. During the landing on Muroc dry lake bed, the aircraft pitched unexpectedly, forcing the right wingtip to contact the ground, breaking off the bumper. The nose gear collapsed as well, and the aircraft slid along the lakebed on its fuselage for some distance before coming to rest. The second flight was delayed while repairs were completed, and took place on 8 October, followed by the third flight two days later.

X-2 number 2 was returned to Bell's factory in New York state afterwards, and the XLR-25 engine was installed. A captive carry flight over Lake Ontario on 12 May 1953 resulted in the loss of aircraft #2, Ziegler, and Frank Wolko from the B-50 crew. During a test of the liquid oxygen system, an explosion rocked the combined aircraft, jettisoning the Starburster, Ziegler and Wolko. The remains of the X-2 fell into Lake Ontario, and neither it, nor the bodies of the two men were recovered. The B-50 mother ship was able to return to the Bell facility, but was judged to be uneconomical to repair, and was scrapped. Similar explosions destroyed one of the X-1s, the X-1A and X-1D, and were eventually traced to Ulmer leather gaskets in the fuel system. The gaskets, treated with tricresyl phosphate (TCP), would react with liquid oxygen, making them explosive if sufficiently jarred. The Ulmer leather gaskets were replaced, and the explosions stopped.

Modifications to the first X-2 and the engine delayed flights until 1955, with the first powered flight occurring on 18 November, reaching a speed of Mach 0.95. The test series began in earnest at this point, with the Starburster showing both its promise but also its limitations. On his final flight in July 1956, Lt. Col. Pete Everest was propelled to Mach 2.87, earning him (temporarily at least) the title of "Fastest Man Alive". Everest reported that the controls were only marginally effective at those speeds however, as the center of pressure for the aircraft changed at high speed, coupled with aeroelasticity of the empennage rendered the flight surfaces ineffective.
Tumblr media
-Photo of the first X-2, showing shock diamonds in both exhaust plumes. | Photo: NACA
Testing continued however, with Captain Iven Kincheloe crossing 100,000 for the first time on 7 September 1956 and Captain Milburn Apt setting a new (unofficial) speed record of Mach 3.2. This mark came a grave cost however, as Apt, likely the victim of a lagging or miscalibrated instrument, attempted a banked turn above Mach 3, far in excess of what the X-2 could achieve. The aircraft tumbled out of control, with Apt unable to counter the control coupling, inertial roll coupling and supersonic spinning faced by the aircraft. Apt triggered the ejection of the nose, but was incapacitated by the forces he encountered, and was unable to release the canopy and free himself to activate his own parachute, and was killed when the capsule struck the lakebed. The nose-less X-2 continued on, eventually returning to Earth with little damage. A proposal was made to salvage the plane and modify it for hypersonic research, but was not funded, and the first X-2 was scrapped.
Tumblr media

LEGACY
The two X-2s completed 20 flights between 1952 and 1956, and although they set records in both altitude and speed, their contribution to the knowledge of high speed aerodynamics and heating was debatable. The unmanned X-7 and research variants of the Bomarc missile were capable of the same speeds, and the destruction of both X-2s meant that much of NACA's planned test program was left unflown. Manned exploration of hypersonic speeds and ultra-high altitudes would have to wait for the North American X-15, still several years off.
The X-2 was made a part of the 1956 film "Toward the Unknown", as the movie depicts several real and fictional test programs taking place at the USAF Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB. The climax of the movie depicts and accident roughly similar to Mel Apt's, although the pilot survives the crash.
Tumblr media

The plane was later included in the pilot movie "Genesis" for the NBC series "Quantum Leap", in which the main character time travels into the body of a fictional pilot for the aircraft. A full-scale mockup of the X-2 was created for the show, and was later acquired by the Planes of Fame Museum in California. The prop is still in the museum's collection, though years of exposure have not been kind to the faux-X plane, which was not built to last in the first place.

A Number, Not a Name
“A couple of months after Jason joins the NSA he is finally assigned his first field mission. Eager to prove himself not only to Donovan, but also to his new partner Tasha Forbes, Jason throws himself completely into the case. However, he soon finds himself caught in a complex web of treachery, deceit, and betrayal which will force him to answer a difficult question - who can he trust?”
Chapter 1: When Duty Calls
Jason sat at his desk quickly typing up an intelligence report which was soon due to be reviewed by the agency’s leading executives. The typical office sounds of phones ringing, clattering keyboards, and co-workers chatting in their small cubicles echoing in the background. This had been his daily routine for the last couple of months ever since he had joined the agency: writing documents of the intelligence gathered on the various groups and people the agency was actively monitoring.  He was almost finished with the nearly 200-page government document when he heard a familiar voice call out his name from behind him, “Agent Whittaker.”
Jason immediately spun his chair around and his eyes came to rest on Deputy Director Donovan’s secretary, Ms. Connors. She continued, her voice in a formal tone “Director Donovan would like to see you now in his office.”
“Oh, of course.”
He stood up from his chair and followed Ms. Connors down a winding aisle lined with rows of cubicles on both sides, through a doorway which led into a corner office, and past Ms. Connors desk until they finally arrived at the door which led into Donovan’s private office. Ms. Connors then knocked.
“Come in” came an older man’s voice with a Scottish accent from the other side of the large oak door. Ms. Connors opened the door and entered the room.
“Director Donovan, Agent Whittaker is here sir.”
“Good, send him in.”
She then exited the room and motioned for Jason to enter. “Director Donovan will see you now.”
“Thank you.” Jason entered the room and Ms. Connors closed the door behind him leaving the two men alone to talk.
“You wanted to see me, sir,” Jason said somewhat nervously, his eyes fixed on the rather intimidating man sitting behind the desk in front of him.
“Ah, yes Jason. You have been working here for a couple of months now and I feel that you are ready to undertake your first field mission.”
“Really sir?” Jason responded with a slight grin on his face, unable to completely hide his excitement.
“Through your work here you have shown me that you possess all the attributes and qualities which I look for in a potential field agent. You’re hard-working, determined, and intelligent. Something which makes me believe that you will be able to successfully complete this mission” Donovan replied.
“Thank you so much sir,” Jason said, truly humbled and honored by Donovan’s words.
At that moment a knock sounded at the door. “Yes,” Donovan called out. The door then opened and Ms. Connors once again entered the room.
“Excuse me Director Donovan, but Agent Forbes has just arrived.”
“Perfect, just in time...send her in.”
“Of course sir.” Ms. Connors then exited the office.
A few seconds later a tall and very attractive woman walked through the door. She was wearing a black pencil skirt, white poplin shirt, black stilettos, and a pair of silver stud earrings. Her auburn hair, which beautifully complemented her deep green eyes, was pulled back into a sleek high ponytail. From the moment he saw her Jason sensed an air of mystery surrounding this woman and was instantly intrigued and even somewhat captivated by her. Donovan stood up from his chair and motioned with his hand towards her.
“Jason Whittaker may I introduce Agent Tasha Forbes. She will be your partner on this assignment.”
Tasha extended her hand to Jason “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Agent Whittaker.”
Jason took her hand in his. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well, but please call me Jason,” he said as he released her hand.
“Only if you call me Tasha.”
“I think I can manage that,” Jason said with a hint of a smile on his face.
“Please, have a seat,” Donovan said, gesturing to the two chairs in front of his desk as he sat back down.
“Thank you, sir,” Jason said.
“Thank you Donovan” Tasha replied as the two of them also sat down.
Donovan then opened the top drawer of his desk and pulled out two yellow folders. He handed the folders to Jason and Tasha who quickly opened them.
“For quite some time now we have been monitoring events in Krudia as the country has been racked by economic turmoil and civil unrest. The perfect opportunity for an extremist political sect to overthrow the government and seize power. Recently several of our operatives have uncovered a new political group called the Krudia Liberation Front or KLF. We believe them to be a fanatical and dangerous faction as there have been reports of them buying massive stocks of weapons and recruiting numerous followers. Your mission is to gather intelligence about the KLF, particularly its leader Dalmar, their main objective, and where their weapons are stored. You two will travel to Krudia where you will be posing as Melinda Tylerson and Edward Delucas - the leaders of an illegal arms operation based in South Africa who are interested in securing a deal to supply armaments to the KLF. You both will be leaving at seven o’clock, Wednesday morning, on Air U.S.A flight AU1498 from Washington to Bulin, the capital of Krudia. Once you arrive there you will make contact with a man named Tarek Matthins, Dalmar’s right-hand man. He has been informed by one of our undercover agents of your impending arrival as well as the armaments and weapons agreement you are supposedly prepared to offer. His code sign will be Zeta Delta Gamma 7104. Do either of you have any questions?” Donovan looked towards each of them for their reply.
“No sir, no questions'' Jason replied.
“Same here Donovan” Tasha answered.
“Well, then you two are dismissed. Make sure you get some rest. You’ll need it.”
“Of course Donovan” Tasha replied.
“We will sir” Jason responded as he and Tasha rose from their chairs.
They began walking towards the door when Donovan quickly spoke up again while making his way to the front of his desk. “Ah, Tasha...can you stay back for a moment?”
“Of course Donovan” Tasha replied before walking back towards Donovan’s desk. Jason then exited the room and closed the door leaving Tasha and Donovan by themselves in the office.
“Tasha...I just wanted to ask you if you’re sure you can handle this assignment?” Donovan asked with a concerned look on his face.
“Why sure Donovan. I’ve handled far more serious threats than this before. You can trust me.”
Donovan looked down for a moment, sighed, and then spoke. “It’s not that I don’t trust you, Tasha, believe me, I am well aware of just how capable you are.”
“Well then forgive me for saying this but what is the problem?... Why are you so worried about me being assigned to this case?” Tasha asked with a confused expression on her face.
“It’s not the assignment per se but rather your new partner...Jason.”
“Jason...what about him. You told me he has all the makings of a great agent, one of the best event analysts you’ve ever had in fact” Tasha said, still confused by Donovan’s apprehension.
Donovan nodded softly “Aye, Aye. that I did. It’s just that in my experience I have found that oftentimes new agents are so anxious to prove their skills as analysts that they recklessly take action without thinking. And I...I worry that the same thing will happen with Jason. Something which could have dangerous consequences not only for him but for you as well” Donovan paused and then continued. “Since you’ve only been partnered with experienced agents in the past I thought I’d let you know the risks of partnering with a new agent. In case you felt like you couldn't handle it and wanted to be reassigned.”
“I appreciate your concern Donovan but I can handle him. I haven’t spent this much time in the agency without learning a few things” Tasha replied as she attempted to reassure him.
“And that is what makes you one of my very best agents,” Donovan said with a look of sincerity and pride in his eyes.
“Thanks, Donovan. Hearing you say that means a lot to me...Well, I best get going. See you when I get back” Tasha said with a smile as she backed away from the desk, turned around, walked to the office door, and placed her hand on the doorknob.
She had just opened the door and was about to exit the room when Donovan called out to her “Tasha.”
She turned her head back in his direction, her hand still resting on the knob, and replied “Yes, Donovan.”
“Please...Be careful.”
“I will Donovan” she answered reassuringly before walking out of Donovan’s office, softly closing the door behind her. Donovan quietly sighed, walked around to the back of his desk, and sat once again in his office chair.
“I just hope I’m doing the right thing,” he said to himself in a low worried tone of voice before resuming his work.

Bulletfic:  We Are Lamen Pt 1
(Disclaimer:  I have never seen the Venom movie or read Venom-centric comics, knowledge of source material gained solely through fandom and osmosis from casual exposure to the Marvel comics universe.)
Damianos is the Crown Prince of an alien planet of Symbiotes - intelligent, gelatinous beings of black goo who live by infesting the bodies of a second intelligent planet-dwelling host species as mind-controlling parasites.  While living in and feeding off another body, Symbiotes have incredible power - strength and speed beyond that which the host species is capable of, the ability to manifest limbs and body parts many times the size of the host, even the ability to use their own energy to heal the host body, making them almost immune to injury.  On their own, they are barely capable of the independent movement necessary to slither helplessly around until they find another body to infest.  The Symbiotes rule the planet, with the host species raised and protected and kept as a kind of slave race
The Symbiotes learn that their planet has a fault in its core and is going to explode (like Krypton.)  In response, King Theomedes sends his best young warriors on a series of emergency exploration missions to all reachable corners of their known universe in an attempt to find a suitable new planet and report its location back for a mass evacuation.  It’s decided that keeping a host body alive in the vacuum of space would be too complicated, even with their abilities, so the emergency missions leave in their almost helpless, but also virtually indestructible, goo forms.  (A suitable, life-sustaining planet for them would be one with a ready-made, compatible host species for them to infest and takeover.)
The mission sent to what they’ve determined to be the most likely region of space contains Crown Prince Damianos, his half-brother Prince Kastor, and their most loyal warriors Nikandros and Pallas.
Of course, they’re being sent to Earth - but their vehicle collides with something in the asteroid belt and they wind up scattered, clinging to different pieces of debris as each is caught by Earth’s gravitational pull and brought down to different parts of the planet.  Damen winds up encountering a private space vehicle in low Earth orbit and being collected...
Jump-cut to Laurent, an intrepid reporter talking his way in to the scientific laboratories owned by his uncle, the mad billionaire Reginald DeVere.  Publicly, Reginald DeVere’s obsessions with privately-funded space flight and research into halting or reversing the aging process by looking at aging as a medical condition that can be treated are the kind of ludicrous but not actively malicious vanity projects billionaires tend to engage in when they have enough money that they start mistaking themselves for gods.  Only Laurent is aware of the darker purpose behind his desire to be able to control the human aging process and halt it where he would, or just how far his uncle would truly go to get what he wants.
With his false credentials, Laurent is shown experiments that beggar even his worst fears.  Not only has his uncle’s ridiculous space program found the first ever proof of alien life and then kept it secret from the public, the government, and NASA, he’s also been performing twisted experiments, trying to force the life form he holds hostage to bond with something else on the assumption that that’s the secret to immortality.  He watches videos of rabbits, dogs, even the kind of people his uncle feels won’t be missed, forced into a room with the black ooze thing and dying horribly after it seeps into their bodies.  Most of their brains explode.
This is, of course, when he’s caught by his uncle and thrown into the same room as the creature.  The black slime creeps towards him.  There’s no escape.  It touches his hand.  It’s warm and oddly smooth and he can feel it sinking into his skin, a sickening sensation like a hand squeezing his heart.  Something in the back of his mind whispers, “You’re compatible” before he passes out -
- and wakes up in his apartment, sitting on the couch and watching a news story about a disaster at Regency labs, believed to be caused by some sort of explosion.
Meanwhile, Damen is thrilled to have finally found a compatible host after so long.  It’s a little disheartening that so many creatures on this planet were incompatible, but in Laurent’s head, he knows the things Laurent knows, and he sees that there’s almost 8 billion of this species on the planet - that’s way more than the number of Symbiotes, enough that it shouldn’t be any problem for each of them to form a harem, even if their compatible options are limited.  Meanwhile, he’s excited to explore this new body and the possibilities it holds.  That whole “turning into a giant monster with huge fangs” he did back at the lab when he took his revenge on those who’d dare imprison him was super cool - an improvement over what he would be able to do in his old bodies.  Afterwards, he’d slipped back down to invisibly hiding under the skin as he brought his host back to its den for some much needed rest.  Now that they’re recovered, it’s time to see what this body can really do -
And that’s where Damen runs into a problem.  In the shock of first contact, he was able to control this body completely, with as little regard for what the mind that thought of itself as “Laurent” thought about it as he was used to allowing for his slave hosts - i.e. none.  But now that they’ve both slept on it and there’s been some adjustment, it turns out that this “Laurent” creature has such iron control over his mind and body that Damen can’t make it do anything while Laurent is fully awake.  He gives a command like, “Arm, move,” or “Put that down and walk to the door,” and Laurent shakes his head as though he’s heard something he doesn’t quite understand and goes back to brushing his teeth or writing his articles or doing whatever dumb thing these “humans” apparently do with their day.
For the first time, Damen learns what it’s like to be an intelligence trapped in a body he can’t control and it sucks.  A lot.  He was taught to consider it a privilege to be a host - that sharing one’s body with another was an honor and a gift, an opportunity to relax and let the symbiote take care of all responsibilities when inhabited, and a guarantee of perfect treatment when they were free.  Now that he’s in a body that he cannot move, cannot control, cannot speak ... he’s finding it a surprisingly horrible experience.  He wonders if the hosts ever felt that way, deep deep down inside where his presence in their brain could not detect.
Of course, part of the reason that the hosts lives were so perfect, why they were so pampered and indulged and had all their needs met by those members of their species who had not been Chosen and had to work for a living was that they had to recover from being possessed because the symbiotes were basically ... well ... eating them.
Which was fine!  That’s why the symbiotes had harems, so that they could switch out the life forms they were both possessing and feeding on before any permanent damage was done.  Then the host would get to rest up and recover from the organ damage before being possessed again.  It was a perfect system!
But he doesn’t have a harem here.  Laurent is the only one he’s found who’s compatible so far.  He can’t feed on Laurent’s internal organs - there’s no body for him to switch to while this one recovers, and if he damages this one they’ll both be out of luck.  He might be able to manage if he could make Laurent eat the kind of things that he could feed on to (living organisms would help, he senses, especially brain matter), but with his lack of control, about the only thing Damen can do is increase Laurent’s craving for chocolate, which seems to have some sort of nutrient in it that’s close enough to do something.  It’s not nearly enough.  Damen is starving.  He’s also - stuck.

"The vehicles then climbed to 22,030 feet for a separation maneuver test. The 747 crew accomplished a pushover and descended at approximately 3,000 feet per minute. The orbiter elevons were positioned as they would be during an actual separation.

Following the separation test, the vehicles climbed to 19,300 feet and established a six-degree glide slope to simulate an orbiter autoland mode fly-through. Engle and Truly monitored the Microwave Scanning Beam Landing System to ensure it was performing as expected – it was."
