In this AU, I must say that the use of feminine titles like “ma’am” or “Miss(us)” instead of “matriarch” are unacceptable should Aichi be nonbinary. However, in rare occasions, they will let it slide. There is a chance of punishment.
Such as the case with Reversed Naoki, which I am currently drafting.
Naoki is extremely sus and something’s up, so Aichi will forgive him this time. Please keep this in mind for future reference. Also, I’m going to create A LOT of OC cards (doesn’t matter right now whether or not they’re named) since the Angel Feather deck, passed down through millenia in the Sendou Family,  is made up entirely on OCs. I have a lot of OP Angel Feather units written down in a draft (around 50, maybe? The Sendou Clan made and gathered over 2000 units throughout the generations). Keep this in mind. Also, I randomly decided rn that any Reversed players will be homophobes, transphobia, queerphobes, etc. cuz EBIL MWAHAHAHA!
The only reason that Misaki WON’T boot out Naoki is because he is already locked in battle with her bestie; and she believes in them.
Aichi is using Psyqualia in this match because Aichi will be using Cure Cupid (the main Angel Feather for the clan), as I had Naoki request, and they need all the help they can get. Naoki is obviously possessed by something, and using Psyqualia with a deck that has conscious, magical units in it as if this is a Magical Girl show (*ahem* IF *AHEM*) is a surefire way to win.
Both Naoki and Toshiki (Kaichi start dating this season (as I may or may not have repeatedly said) cuz Aichi is 16 and thus old enough to be considered an adult in the Sendou Family (This is also the legal age on Cray as well (in his AU), which is why it’s ok to copulate and take over the family at so young an age even though Aichi is a minor by Earth standards). So Aichi is Matriarch, even if underdeveloped, and Toshiki-senpai feels more secure in being with this person.) agree that the use of Psyqualia sounds counterintuitive (I decided just after writing “counterproductive” that, although I love the word “counterproductive”, I think whatever “counterintuitive” means is a better word for this than “counterproductive”) to the themes of Aichi and the situation. However, it cannot be helped as the units immediately start acting on their own, so Aichi must use Psyqualia to keep control and calm them down--to predict the outcomes and to adjust strategy.
Misaki counters this by noticing that, by the look on Aichi’s face, the assortment of Angel Feathers looks randomized. “I wouldn’t be surprised if almost every unit in there had some skill, even if it would be completely useless here. Whatever units they had came to their aid, so first-come-first serve. Aichi is stuck with this arrangement until they can get home and fix it to be more concrete and fluid. They might need to shuffle the deck at least several times. It’s happened before.”
Indeed. In this AU, Aichi trains the Cardfight Club with Cure Cupid--and kicks their arses raw with it. Aichi is intense, raw, and unbeatable--at least with this section of the cast. Aichi is making his/their clan(s) proud, and he/they is/are fulfilling the title, honor, and pride of Sendou Matriarch quite well with such proficient and natural use. Even if the cards move themselves to the top of the deck as they see fit. Aichi just rolls with it. Also, I plan to extend to beach arc to be its whole seperate original work--too much changed, at least in plot. Looks like a romance-anime beach episode than a shounen-anime beach episode. Here, Mrs. Sendou is out-of-town and she entrusts Cure Cupid to her son (Aichi is a he for the beach training camp). Aichi...SO MANY shenanigans. Aichi does not really use Royal Paladins here, if at all (SIKE! Just there because it’s even sus-er if Aichi DOESN’T bring that deck along). It’s just rocking the Angel Feathers, being a smug a**hole to Emi, and being seductive (and Kamui x Emi advancement).
...While giving in and posting some of the original content for the AU as a Collection on ao3 (I didn’t write “f**k it, I can’t take it anymore, I’m uploading these onto here” yet tho I want(ed) to), I realized that I already mentioned Cure Cupid as a character. So those who read the early updates of the blog (well, the original works, anyway) must be aware that Matriarch AU and Cure Cupid AU already exists.
So here’s the update I started before I posted what I did about the beach arc, and I just finished it rn because school starts in 50 minutes (first day back from Winter Break) and I’m bored and it’s itching in my brain to continue writing chappies.

So I’ve been talking about an unreleased arc in the old Kinoverse with a mutual of mine and discussed just how dark it would have been, not only being the darkest entry in the Kinoverse, but also the darkest thing I would’ve ever written period.
This is the SCP Foundation Arc, the first arc that would have kicked off False Genesis. It would've involved a Academy City Researcher known as Kihara Kamui infiltrating the foundation as one of the researchers thanks to his method of implanting his personality into the researcher via psychological torture, and that alone would've been dark enough on its own, but then there's the fact that he did it to an entire MTF, meaning we now have armed soldiers with the personality of a psychotic scientist.
There would then have been a drabble with Kamui trying to psychologically break Touma, killing people in front of him and ordering the rest of the MTF to kill everyone in the facility except Touma. It would have set up a dynamic between Touma and Kamui similar to Batman and the Joker, where he tries to break Touma into rejecting the idea that not everyone, especially him, deserves to be saved/cannot be saved. Touma would be thrown into a violent frenzy and repeatedly punch him in the face, but Kamui gets the uper hand and proceeds to mutilate him by slowly cutting into his left shoulder and completely messing up his arm.
we would then have had Mikoto, Kazakiri Hyouka, Itsuwa, possibly Shirai Kuroko and Bowen if he was involved taking on the soldiers while Index, Othinus, Misaki and Sphyinx the Cat (because she carries him everywhere) taking a back seat behind the defensive wall Itsuwa made with by spinning her spear. At some point in the conflict, the soldiers start to turn on each other and kill each other, this of course being Kihara Kamui's implanted copies being ordered to kill everyone. At some point, Index runs off further into the facility to save Touma, but one of the Kamui copies shoots Index in the head with his rifle and she seemingly dies right then and there.
This however is not the end for Index as she starts to "come back to life", immediately intering John's Pen Mode, but in reality, a sentient grimoire inside her head activated it and it using John's Pen Mode goes on a rampage, killing all of the soldiers in a viriaty of horrific ways, from blowing out their eyes and brains with electrical energy, turning them to dust just by touching them, draining their life force, causing them to age rapidly and shrivel up into bones, and using some form of spacial displacement so that a soldier's knife  attack pierces his own head. It would have been pretty gruesome.
The wound Index got would of course be healed by John's Pen and the grimoire would soon return to its inert state, returning Index to normal, but she would have no memory of what happened. The mercinary OC that was going to be made for this arc would be the only survivor of this whole ordeal, and would attempt to kill Index by shooting her again. This fails because Hyouka takes the bullet instead and isn't wounded due to her nature as an AIM being. She would then beg him not to kill her which he would ignore and is determined to kill Index, believing that she's a threat to the world. He would then get a call from someone and would rush deeper into the facility, which would prompt the others to follow. that's when we get into the whole thing with Kamui getting killed in the end. Oh, and the Mercinary gets his head blown off when he makes it to the room where kamui was residing in by a hidden soldier.
The girls would have then seen what Kamui did to Touma and Mikoto, Itsuwa, and Misaki would go balistic, attempting to torture him by stabbing into his left shoulder, piercing his side, and mentally breaking him, but if someone say TetsuwanAtom’s Bowen were involved, Kamui would have been killed on the spot before the girls could do anything to him.
And after all of that, Touma dies from blood loss and shock. he doesn't even get a final word or anything, he is left in such a state, and he dies then and there. It would have been a heavily sad moment and one of, if not the darkest moment in the entire Kinoverse overall.
After that, we would have Anna/The Guardian come in to recover them and bring them back to her sanctuary. This would have led into the next arc, which focuses on the gang going to remnant to find the Dragon Balls to revive Touma. This is where the Cyverse elements of the Kinoverse would have come into play, but given how things IRL went, this was all canned and led to Rebirth testament/the current iteration of the Kinoverse.

“I’ve identified the one from Jungle who attacked Mihashira Tower- Mishakuji Yukari, a former vassal of the previous Colourless King, Miwa Ichigen,” Saruhiko explained.
“Colourless and Green…” Reisi mused, inspecting a puzzle piece between his fingers. “Someone like you, who uses two colours? I’m impressed that you learned so much in such a short time.”
“I was asked to assist on another matter. I was doing research on it and by chance, there was a connection. Jungle is a unique clan that has wide presence on the internet. Through downloadable apps, they have access to unspecified numbers of clansmen.” Saruhiko walked over to the desk, showing Reisi the screen of the tablet he had been working on. “Please take a look at this.”
A video played: grainy CCTV footage of a masked figure dressed in black, passing through a portal of green light that emanated from a wall. The figure was carrying a girl in a red dress over their shoulder, and dragging the semi-conscious body of a man in a dark jacket, who had his hood up.
“Higher-ranking clansmen possess the Green Clan’s manipulation ability. They can alter the laws of physics, and have far greater strength than the average man. In particular, this masked clansman…”
Reisi interrupted him with a smug chuckle. “Hmm, they’re a ninja. Very interesting.”
“…This masked clansman uses the manipulation ability, and as you can see, they can pass through walls. As a result, the security at Mihashira Tower is meaningless.”
Reisi chuckled again. “This is just like a ninja passing through walls.”
Saruhiko adjusted his glasses. “This masked-…”
“This ninja,” Reisi cut in.
Saruhiko cleared his throat. “This masked clansman is probably, like Mishakuji, highly skilled.”
“No, this is ninjutsu,” Reisi said emphatically.
“In any case, this is the real problem,” he said zooming in on the figure over the Green clansman’s shoulder. “The girl is the Red clansman, Kushina Anna, and the man is former Red King, Suoh Mikoto.”
Reisi’s face fell, and his expression became grave.
“The reason behind their kidnapping is not clear, but it can’t be for any good purpose.”
“I see…” Reisi reached for his phone, and took a brief look at the missed call notification from Totsuka Tatara, then turned the screen off and set it back on his desk. “I now have an idea of the enemy’s intention. It seems we have no choice but to act. What about coordination with the other agencies.”
“Completed, sir.”
“Good. Well then, it’s time you get going. By the way, who was it that asked for your assistance?”
“…Am I obliged to tell you, sir?”
“Not at all. I trust your work. Please inform Awashima-kun and the rest of the Special Task Force of this information. I have a phone call to make.”
“Yes, sir,” Saruhiko said, then turned on his heel and left the room.
Reisi sighed deeply as soon as the door was closed, then picked up his phone and dialled Tatara’s number.
“Munakata…” Tatara’s voice was hoarse, as though he’d been crying.
“Totsuka-san. I apologise for not contacting you sooner. As it happens, I have just been made aware of your predicament.”
“You know about King and Anna…?”
“Yes. I was just informed by Fushimi-kun that they have been filmed by CCTV within Mihashira Tower, held captive by a ninja-… a high-ranking Green clansman. Though I believe your clan already has this information- Fushimi-kun told me he discovered this whilst being asked to assist on another matter. I presume the one who asked for his assistance was your Yatagarasu?”
“Yes… He’s on his way there now.”
“Surely he and Kamamoto cannot hope to perform a raid alone?”
“Kamamoto was injured in the initial kidnapping. But no, Yata isn’t by himself; the Silver Clan are helping us- the Black Dog and that cat strain. There seems to be some personal conflict between the Black Dog and the Green clansman Mishakuji Yukari.”
“I see. The Blue Clan are also willing to offer you our assistance- the kidnap is a clear violation, and as such, Sceptre 4 is at liberty to take action. As we speak, my clansmen are on their way to Mihashira Tower to reinforce the perimeter, and I can offer additional fighters to assist with the raid itself.”
“That’s okay, Yata-chan wouldn’t fight alongside Blues, no offense. But a perimeter in case they try to disappear again like last time would be appreciated…”
“Understood. We will do our utmost to ensure Suoh and miss Kushina are returned to you safely. I will remain on hand at the scene in case the assistance of a King is required.”
“Am I the only one getting déjà vu? Asking you to make sure he doesn’t die.” The humour in Tatara’s voice was weak.
“There is no need for any talk of anyone dying, understood?”
“Okay…”
“By the way, I have reason to believe that your strategist may have returned to the country.”
“Kusanagi-san is back in Japan? How do you know?”
“I overheard Awashima-kun on the phone to him earlier, speaking about his trip to Germany in the past tense. It may be worth giving him a call.”
“Okay. Thank you for your help.”
“Take care of yourself, and try not to worry,” Reisi told him, then hung up the phone.
Tatara let out a deep sigh as the line went dead and slumped back in his seat. He’d been holding back tears the entire conversation, though to be honest, he’d been holding back tears since he’d first broken down against Rikio’s shoulder earlier that day. But he didn’t have time to break down again right now.
He thought he’d recovered from the stress of last year, but now that Mikoto was missing, the fault lines were opening up again, and through the cracks, flashbacks to the way he’d felt when he wasn’t sure he’d ever see Mikoto alive again were shoving their way into the forefront of his mind. It made him want to throw up. He hated having to worry about Mikoto, hated the thought that Mikoto probably felt as helpless as he did. And more than anything, he hated that this was sort of his fault. If he hadn’t gotten shot, Mikoto wouldn’t have had to abdicate, and then maybe he could have defended himself…
He shook the thoughts from his head, knowing they weren’t helping him, then looked up, noticing Rikio was looking at him in concern. The two of them had stayed behind at the bar after Misaki had rushed off, knowing they’d be more hindrance than help.
“Are you okay?” Rikio asked.
Tatara nodded stiffly.
“Did Munakata say Kusanagi-san is back in Japan?”
“Yes. I’m going to call him now.”
Tatara drummed his fingertips against the table as the phone rang, and when Izumo answered, the familiar sound of his voice sent a wave of relief through him. He didn’t think he’d ever needed his friend more.
“Hello?”
“Kusanagi-san… You’re back in Japan?”
“Yeah, I figured I’d got as much info as I was gonna get, and I heard about the attack on Mihashira Tower, so I got the first flight back. I was tryin’a ring Mikoto, but he ain’t answering, as usual. I dunno what I expected. I was just about ta call ya; I’m in a cab from the airport right now.”
“Kusanagi-san…” Tatara’s voice wavered as he spoke.
“…Is everythin’ alright?”
“King and Anna… Some Green clansmen ambushed us… They took them…”
“They were kidnapped?”
“They’re being held at Mihashira Tower right now. Yata-chan and the Silver clansmen are on their way to try and rescue them.”
“The Silver clansmen?”
“The Black Dog and the cat strain. They were with us when we were ambushed, and they wanted to help.”
“Do Sceptre 4 know?”
“They’re tightening the perimeter around the building.”
“I’ll be there as soon as I can. You holding up alright?”
“Would you believe me if I said yes?”
“Is someone there with you?”
“Kamamoto. He was injured in the initial attack, but it’s nothing life-threatening.”
“Were you with them? Were you hurt?”
“I got kicked in the chest. Maybe I cracked a rib, but I’m fine.”
Izumo sighed. “I’m about ten minutes out. Hang in there.”
“Please hurry.”
