#Bonefall Rewrite Summary
bonefall · 1 year
Note
what are the plot beats of bonefall tpb? i know youve mentioned its very politically focused, but what does the story really look like (if youve got that hammered out yet)?
It's very similar to Canon TPB in terms of plot beats, it's the least reworked arc because I think it's the one that needs the least amount of fixing. Even as-is I think it's a really good narrative against isolationism that just has some moderate stumbles (namely the introduction of BloodClan as the endgame enemy)
The majority of its problems come from its treatment of disability and its... terribly written romance. Even ships that should check out in theory like FireSand I think are just... frustrating at best.
So anyway I'll walk you through the changed plot beats off the top of my head. I'll also make some off-brand title changes for fun
Book 1: Into the Clans
Fireheart is aware of BloodClan to begin with and knows about their warnings of Clan Cats
Smudge has actually been seeing Spottedleaf in the darkness of the forest, she looks like an apparition of death because of her leaf-blight spots and bone-shaped markings
To begin with, more time is spent on Firepaw's apprenticeship before deposing Brokenstar
We're introduced to Channeling, which is an illegal way to contact a spirit... if they're willing to come when called. Spottedleaf does this to try and talk to her brother.
Redtail is not helpful because he is a jerk. Fireheart learns to not be afraid of death because of Spottedleaf's blithe attitude towards it
I also plan to establish at some point here that Longtail and Sandpaw's dads are Runningwind and Redtail and have Firepaw realize that the death of Redtail has affected them deeply
He considers this because he does not know what it is like to have a single dad let alone two, but if it's like losing a mom that's rough
Spottedleaf, Lionheart, and Rosetail die in the same raid where the Frostfour are snatched
Fireheart joins that patrol to retrieve the Frostfour from ShadowClan. Bluestar is on it, also.
Deerfoot is established as a rebel and Tangleburr as a Brokentail loyalist.
Deerfoot and many others don't like what Brokenstar has done, but he's a popular leader and they need help getting rid of him
Bluestar agrees to send the reinforcement they need. Tigerclaw is upset about this, citing that Clans aren't supposed to meddle in the affairs of others. They should just take the kits back honorably
An explanation of the ancient tradition of kit-stealing is given to Firepaw, which he is horrified by, but then he tunes back in to Bluestar rebuffing Tigerclaw with the Queen's Rights. He bows his head and agrees.
After Brokenstar is dethroned, Fireheart is named, and uses tarspot-blighted sycamore leaves to channel Spottedleaf for the first of many times.
Book 2: Blood and Water
Fire and Ice is basically unchanged, WindClan is retrieved, Silverstream is introduced, Cinderpaw and Brackenpaw apprenticed (though they are not below 6 moons this time), Brokenstar blinded, Cloudkit acquired, etc, but there's minor changes to motivations of scenes.
For example, the scuffle that gets Whiteclaw killed is an example of the Right of Challenge in action... and also Deadfoot and Leopardfur are equally matched the abelism in this fight bothers me.
Customary Deadfoot bonkening. All of his opponents get bonked once.
Graystripe's utter failure to train Brackenpaw is not forgotten, this is remembered. Fireheart is also asked to fill the role of Brackenpaw's mentor during the Warriorship ceremony later
Cloudkit is raised by Fireheart alone, Brindle just suckles him because Fireheart can't make milk.
Brindleface's kits are swapped! Ashkit is born later; the childhood friends of Cloudtail are Elderberry and Ferncloud.
Book 3: Old Secrets
In general THIS is the book where we would get an actual description of Thistle Law and its name
Fireheart also learns about Bluestar's Forget-Me-Nots, her old group of friends, and he starts to piece things together quicker than in canon.
For newcomers: The Forget-Me-Nots were a friend group of Bluestar, Deadfoot, Ashfoot, Barley Sr, Lizardstripe, and Oakheart. Her love of these people is what causes her to lead the way she does, helping all clans in a way unlike any other leader before her.
Similar to canon this is the book where Silverstream dies, Graystripe leaves, Tigerclaw is exiled, and Brokentail is poisoned. Not much else is different.
Book 4: Rising Fire
Runningnose does a little bit of epidemic. As a treat. Kills Cinderfur and Nightstar and installs Tigerstar
This is the book where Longtail starts to rise up as a close ally of Fireheart, more reliably than his younger sister Sandstorm who has more of her own mind.
The apprenticing of Elderpaw and Fernpaw is changed; Dustpelt is too young to have an apprentice and is rewarded for his loyalty by becoming the secondary apprentice of a Clan builder.
Frostfur gets Elderpaw, Darkstripe gets Fernpaw
Dustfern does not happen while Fernpaw is an apprentice, ick. She admires him one-sidedly while he is a young warrior arguing loudly with her awful mentor, though.
Snowkit is given some extra personality as being serious like his mom, and quite religious.
He is also a friend of Tawny and Bramble.
His death after the forest fire by a hawk is unchanged; and the start of Bluestar's cruelty arc.
We get Littlecloud and Whitethroat's thing, Cloudpaw's abduction, the beginning of Bluestar's cruelty arc, the forest fire, RiverClan sheltering them, and the deaths of Snowkit, Yellowfang, and Runningwind largely unchanged.
Book 5: Paths Chosen
Who_Let_The_Dogs_Out.mp4
Bluestar's cruelty arc continues
Ashfur is born in this book
Graystripe refuses to let Leopardstar murder Fireheart and is exiled; his kittens remember this
Cloudtail is made a warrior and Swiftpaw and Brightpaw go play with puppies
IMPORTANT: Brightpaw's "Dishonor Title" is SWIFTHOUND, it has nothing to do with her scarring. Her actions got Swiftpaw killed and that is what is dishonorable about this. Scars are a desirable trait in this rewrite.
It's a dare to StarClan; take her as Swifthound or make her live with this name.
Shuffle: Tigerstar lays claim to his kits after Swiftpaw dies, that was his oldest son and he says that ThunderClan is not capable of protecting his children
Shuffle: Sandstorm is the new mentor of Tawnypaw, Brackenfur is too young.
Firestar is aromantic, no confession scenes. These two actually have kittens together later as a form of honor-siring with coparenting.
They do the dog relay race, Elderpaw replaces Ashpaw because Ashkit is literally baby rn
Longtail replaces Graystripe on this race because Longtail's got zoomies and Graystripe's extra thick; NOT a runner.
Bluestar dies
Also as a side note the redux of Bluestar's Prophecy opens up right here, with Lizardstripe playing as her defense lawyer in StarClan and the trial framing the story. Thistleclaw also LEAVES StarClan in that book in protest to Bluestar being allowed in.
Book 6: Hour of Need (but also it would be funny if this one was called Before The Dawn and then TNP opened up with Dawn lmao)
Tigerstar actually offers BloodClan land in exchange for them helping him. This is important.
Fireheart evolves into Firestar like canon
Sorrelkit's poisoning results in her developing epilepsy after this, which will follow her for the rest of her life.
TigerClan officially forms... though I am thinking of pushing this back to the previous book so it's formed for longer.
The Bonehill is actually a really stupid idea in-universe and cats are working themselves to the BONE HHA to finish this incredibly pointless vanity project
I'm thinking a TigerClan rebel actually fetches Raven, Fire, and Gray to get them to help save the prisoners. Unsure who; maybe Primrosepaw or Reedpaw.
Execution of Stonefur like canon
There are several TigerClan rebels, one of which is Deerfoot, who help the Halfclans escape. Jaggedtooth is another, Primrosepaw, Reedpaw, Pikepaw, and Mosspelt as well.
In escaping, the only cat captured is Deerfoot
He refuses to rat out the other rebels, saving their lives, and is executed for it
Tangleburr is distraught
Later, WindClan is attacked and Gorsepaw dies.
Laterer Tigerstar gets unzipped by Scourge
AND THIS IS THE BIGGEST CHANGE;
Firestar calls to speak to Scourge, to ask what it is he really wants
He essentially learns that Scourge is sick of the dishonor of Clan cats, he was promised forest and he will have it. Diplomacy breaks down and the battle must happen
When Firestar and Scourge fight, Firestar dies once, revives, and beats him by ripping the collar off, but sparing his life.
"A true warrior does not need to kill to win their battles"
Scourge calls for a retreat
The Clans Win; but a lot of cats died on both sides
Longtail, not Graystripe, becomes deputy
Epilogue is ThunderClan, WindClan, and occasionally ShadowClan (but they're difficult) engaging in diplomacy with BloodClan, including trade and foraging rights.
Aaaaaaaand there you have it! Bonefall TPB summarized. If something wasn't mentioned here (like Tawny defecting) you can assume it happened in the book in a similar way.

The Skyfall AU Masterpost
This post will be an archive of sorts for the information posts for the Skyfall AU.
The goal of this AU is to hammer out a solid timeline for warrior cats, emphasize the downfall of Skyclan and the aftermath as key drivers in the plot, and better flesh out the characters and clan culture(s)! Additionally, I hope to address some of the more problematic elements of the canon text to make a narrative that is more satisfying and lives up to the potential the warriors world has. I also want to pin down a setting (at the moment I am leaning towards SW Scotland) for the books in order to make the names and environment consistent and accurate.
This AU will focus primarily on the the time frame from the fall of Skyclan to the end of OotS, since those are the books I read as a kid/teenager and are the books I have the best grasp of. I stopped reading the series consistently several years ago, but have re-read TPB recently. As such, I probably won't do much work on anything post-The Last Hope. Perhaps later, but certainly not anytime soon.
I hope to tackle DotC at some point, since I got about halfway through that arc before stopping reading the books.
This project is roughly broken into a few categories that are subject to change:
History of the Clans and Timeline Work:
Timeline from The Skyfall to Modern Day [DRAFT]
Clan Culture:
Skyclan's Cultural Evolution
Cats of the Gorge: A Full Summary
Clan Ranks and Structure
Ceremonies and Rituals
Shadowclan After Brokenstar
Naming Conventions in the Clans
Crafting
Collecting and Trade
Plot:
Skyclan's Downfall
Thunderclan Civil War (aka The Skyblood Conflict)
Disbanding of Skyclan
Characterization:
Goldenheart (SF Tigerheart)
Brokenstar
Tallstar
Peatstar (Onestar)
Geography and Ecosystems:
Flora and Fauna of SW Scotland
Allegiances:
Into the Wild: Thunderclan
This AU is inspired not only by the canonical warriors books that I read as a kid/teen but also by the work of @bonefall and @cryptidclaw, both blogs I absolutely love reading through because the ideas in their respective AUs/rewrites are superb and get the creative juices flowing. In particular, I plan on using the clanmew language system developed by bonefall and @troutfur and drawing from the clan culture bonefall has numerous posts about.

The Evil Firestar AU, or the Firemask AU, is a warrior cats alternate universe
Everything goes as normal, but when Rusty joins the clans, he is apprenticed to Tigerclaw (who is very unhappy about it). Ravenpaw is the apprentice of Bluestar. Meanwhile, Mapleshade is very interested in this new kittypet in ThunderClan (who starts talking his way in and out of trouble and saying very radical ideas about unifying the clans), and begins teaching him how to lie in the DF. There's a subplot of DF politics, but mostly things go as normal. Firepaw manages to convince Tigerclaw not to kill Ravenpaw for finding out about Redtail, and the apprentices all get their warrior names after rescuing the kits from ShadowClan.
Firepaw is named Firemask for the darker orange mask around his eyes.
Tigerclaw ends up killing Bluestar, and naming Darkstripe as deputy. Firemask kills Darkstripe. During that time, Cinderpaw has her accident in a trap that was set for Firemask. Tigerstar acknowledges the game has begun, and after that Swiftpaw and Brightpaw end up attempting to lead the dogs to Tigerstar. They fail, and both are badly wounded, Tigerstar killing Swiftpaw and leaving Brightpaw to die. Firemask and Ravencall (Ravenpaw's warrior name) bring her to the RiverClan border, telling her to run.
Firemask starts his own little group of his supporters.
With great reluctance from everyone involved, Cloudkit is brought to ThunderClan. Firemask starts worrying, and this gets worse when Graystripe and eventually Sandstorm leave for RiverClan (Sandstorm was going to have his kits, and didn’t want them to grow up there). After the TigerClan merges with ShadowClan, he stuffs deathberries in Tigerstar's prey, and that takes his second to last life. Then BloodClan attacks, along with RiverClan and WindClan. This time Scourge doesn't really care about taking over the forest, he just wants to kill Tigerstar. In the midst of the battle, Scourge and Firemask kill Tigerstar a second time, and the TigerClan cats are matched into the RiverClan camp.
Firemask manages to convince Leopardstar not to exile him, and gets passive aggressive nine lives. He is forced into picking Greystripe for his deputy (Ravencall was his first choice). He's not pissed, but not overjoyed at it.
He sort of reconciles with Sandstorm, and that's how the first arc goes. Mapleshade is clowning on Thistleclaw at the end.
That's the basic summary of the first arc, but there is a lot that I didn't go into.
This is the masterpost for those changes!

More Plot Changes From My Rewrite
These are small plot changes that didn't make it into my big Arc Plot Rewrite Summary posts that I still wanted to make note of here.
About the Forest Elders
In canon, the Elders that stay behind starve to death. Not so here- they deserve better! Firestar recruits Princess and her friends Xena and Pollyanna to take the Elders to their homes so they can live the rest of their lives in kittypet luxury. Also, Dapplelight reunites with someone she thought she’d only see again in StarClan: her thought-dead deaf child Plumekit, now a kittypet named Petey. When he wandered out of camp, he was discovered by a group of hikers, who took him home and adopted him. They take Dapplelight in too and she spends the rest of her life happy with her son. The few that decide not to live with Twolegs shack up in Barley and Ravenpaw’s barn. The prevalence of cats with Clan knowledge around is what eventually leads to the founding of WarriorClan in the far future by Princess’ granddaughter Monkeystar.
SkyClan vs the Abusive Twoleg
So in canon, SkyClan doesn't actually harm Shrewtooth's abusive former owner, they just scare him pretty bad. Let’s change that (because screw that guy)! While they still go about their plan to get revenge as far as distracting his dog and tying him up, they also beat the ever-loving tar out of him. There’s a large group of them and only one of him, which means things do not go in his favor and none of the cats get hurt. When they leave, he’s passed out covered in claw-marks. He never bothers another cat again. I read a post saying rewrites need to have cool moments that would look awesome in an animatic, and this is one of those for me.
The Matter of Millie and Graystripe (Specifically Millie’s Kits)
I didn't even consider this discrepancy before reading more of @bonefall’s posts, but they brought up a big one: pet cats are almost always spayed or neutered. If Graystripe had been actually adopted as a kittypet, or was even just fostered before he escaped, he would very likely have been neutered before he left. And Millie, having been a housecat for presumably her whole life and being around Graystripe’s age, would also have been spayed. I wanted to rectify this (even though Gray isn't the bio father of Millie’s kits in this universe). So in my rewrite, Graystripe manages to escape the shelter before he can be neutered. As he attempts to find the Clans, he encounters an escaped kittypet by the name of Millie. Millie is a purebred show-cat (specifically a Scottish Fold) that her owners planned on breeding, which explains why she isn't spayed. She ran away from her housefolk after she got pregnant from her former mate, who was a stray. She knew that her owners wouldn't be happy that her kits weren't purebreds and would take them away like they had her first litter (she is a second-time mom here).

Broken bones
this is a parody/shitpost-themed AU blog/warriors rewrite centered around warrior cats. This blog was inspired by @bonefall!
Admins pronouns are they/she, and they are a minor.
Au summary:
How a series of errors started by Bluestar causes a series of events which probably change the clans, like, forever or something maybe. Firestars law; anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, especially if it's funny for some cats and especially annoying for everyone else.

Any ideas for AVOS yet? I don't remember much of it, I just remembered feeling like both Violetshine and Twigbranch were wasted potential
AVoS is definitely one of the lesser 'solidified' arcs for the rewrite in my head. Way more fragments than commitments.
I'm actually cleaning up my masterpost rn so I have these links on hand-- I'll summarize them though so you don't HAVE to read All This, but if you want to go on a meander through my thoughts, here they are
On Twigbranch and Violetshine
How will I handle the breakup of ShadowClan? (^^^ If you're going to read any, read this one because it's the most sensitive part of AVoS, and THE big thing I want to fix. I go into why I think it's so important here so it's really really worth the context)
My givens; shifting the POV
Why Alderheart is getting a reduced role
The inconsistent morality of the apprentices, radicalization, how I want to fix it; on Berryheart and Sleekwhisker
Breezepelt’s plan to drown Darktail; subverting the redemption-by-death trope
In Summary;
-The POV is getting changed. Alderheart is not a main POV-- AVoS is mostly told through Needletail, Violetshine, and Breezepelt. (considered heathertail but leaning against it now)
-This is an arc about WindClan and ShadowClan; Alderheart and Sparkpelt are big enough to hold side content on their own, such as a novella or SE
-Breezepelt is getting a WHOLE redemption arc in AVoS.
-Added Harespring and Breezepelt as a one-sided rivalry
-Breezepelt's kittens are either not being born yet, or shuffled. Heathertail may possibly invoke the Queen's Rights and have them with an unknown father.
-The Kin is the central conflict of the entire arc; I specifically made BloodClan neutral and reworked other major cultures in the entire series knowing that I would have to keep The Kin utterly malicious. One of the few completely irredeemable foreign groups in the whole series.
-So, obviously, I'm being very careful about them. This is an area where I need to make it clear that Darktail's destruction IS bad actors, not a systemic issue. This is extremely important to later arcs, because there IS canonical xenophobic backlash to The Kin and it is unavoidable.
-So... you can see how I'm walking a fine line there. So I'm being extremely careful, conscious, and open-minded on how I approach it.
-The Kin exploits the good intentions of the ShadowClan apprentices, and lures in dejected codebreakers and ex-Dark Forest trainees into its ranks.
-SkyClan is returning to the Lake to help in the final confrontation.
-The Law of the Lake, the one cited to always preserve the other Clans, is being added at the end of this arc in respect to SkyClan, and possibly in memorial of ShadowClan, depending on when Tigerheart's Shadow's events fall in.
-Owlclaw is now the brother of Harespring and Kestrelflight! This is an added subplot I decided on with a couple of the other Regular Contributers (i want a name for you all, hmu with suggestions. The Skeleton Crew?) and I'm really fond of it, so Owlclaw is going to have something to bond with Violetshine over.
-Considering making Owlclaw either Violetshine's surrogate father or mentor. Pinenose is a fine surrogate and Violetshine will probably stay close with Puddleshine and Slatefur as childhood friends-- but there's potential with Owlclaw now.

OUTDATED: Bonefall Rewrite History Lesson
Hey there! This post is outdated! I rebranded to the Better Bones AU a while back. This post is still up for posterity's sake, but if you found your way here looking for a History Lesson, please go HERE instead!
Here’s that history lesson I promised!
I hope that this makes an accessible guide to the Bonefall Rewrite as a whole. Because I’m trying to be succinct with a really big project, this guide will just contain a brief recap of each ‘time period’ as I’ve rewritten them, followed by a straightforward list of eras.
Each arc has an Era Name to refer to the events that happen in it, instead of just referring to the nearest main series arc. 3 Eras create a Period, which carries a unique theme. I hope that they help to summarize events better!
There are 5 Periods so far; Ancient, Chivalric, Slash-and-Burn, Reaching, and Shifting.
Period 1: Ancient Period Dawn/Code/Skyfall Eras (This is the equivalent of Dawn of the Clans, Code of the Clans, up to Cloudstar’s Journey)
The Ancient Period is remembered through dramatic legends, exaggerated into fantastical myths and losing exact details over time. History becomes more 'accurate' and realistic as it becomes more recent.
Its first era, the Dawn Era, is the Clan's creation myth. It's an epic tale of the fall of the Great Clans of Lion, Leopard, and Tiger, and the rise of the modern 5. The founders are remembered on a level close to gods.
The Code Era that followed is remembered as a series of parables, each with a lesson about its attached part of the Warrior Code. The bulk of the code was formed in this time, but continues to be altered to the modern day.
The final, the Skyfall Era, consists of the events that eventually drove SkyClan out of the Forest. It’s largely used as a cautionary tale about how twolegs cannot be trusted, not as a lesson about how to prevent it from ever happening again. SkyClan is largely blamed for the reasons it was eventually banished.
Period 2: Chivalric Period Ripple/Crusade/Campaign Eras (This stretches from the exile of SkyClan to the death of Raggedstar, and includes books like Mapleshade’s Vengeance, Yellowfang’s Secret, and Bluestar’s Prophecy)
The Chivalric Period is considered the ‘golden age’ by the Clan’s battle culture standards, full of deadly battles, invasions, and the largest revision of the Warrior Code in Clan history; it would remain unmatched until the later events of The Broken Code.
Its first period is the Ripple Era. After the exile of SkyClan, Dawnstar’s successor, Ripplestar, led a rebellion hoping to make space to bring them home. Its failure was taken as a sign the Clans were righteous.
The next period was the Crusade Era. The drowning of Mapleshade’s kittens and the subsequent murders infuriated StarClan and caused them to give Darkstar a new commandment, leading to the Queen’s Rights. Oakstar tried to repent for his sins by starting crusades on the twolegplace, giving the era its name.
The four Clans dabbled in these crusades, until the Campaign Era, when Heatherstar began a war to take the Mothermouth Moors from ShadowClan. This sparked new inter-Clan conflict, as all four fought to reshuffle borders. From this time of war, the seeds of Thistle Law germinate in its founder’s mind.
Period 3: Slash-and-Burn Period Thistle/Fire/Ash Eras (This covers The Prophecies Begin, the reworked versions of Firestar’s Quest and Spottedleaf’s Heart, and other events in the same time.)
The Slash-and-Burn Period was a time of massive political upheaval for the Clans, beginning as Brokenstar took power and implemented Thistle Law into practice, reaching crescendo when Fire Alone saved the forest from Tigerstar, and ending during the destruction of the forest territories.
The Thistle Era was slowly born from the erosion of the Warrior Code during the brutality of the period before it. Thistle Law is a strict and bloody interpretation of the Code, emphasizing loyalty above all else, and is named after its founder Thistleclaw. It officially started when Brokenstar took power, as it was the first time Thistle Law was put into practice.
The Fire Era began when Firestar became an apprentice of ThunderClan. With his selfless actions, defiance of old customs, and Bluestar to mentor him, he founded a counter ideology known as Fire Alone. This came to a head with the Battle with BloodClan, which ended in the honorable defeat of Scourge and negotiations thereafter.
The Ash Era was a time of relative peace and reckoning, brought about through relations with new neighbors in BloodClan and truce between the forest Clans. This lasted until the destruction of the forest forced the Great Journey on them.
Period 4: Reaching Period Journey/Power/Omen Eras (This covers the later half of The New Prophecy, Power of Three, up to the battle with the Dark Forest in Omen of the Stars.)
The Reaching Period is so named because the entire period was defined by reaching new things. A new home, new understanding, new planes of existence… it’s fundamentally a period of new things, and acquiring them.
The Journey Era includes the trip to the lake, a brief stay with the Tribe, and officially ended with Mudclaw’s Rebellion and the punishment of the rebels that came after. The Clans don’t completely agree on when this period ended exactly; ThunderClan is partial to Brackenfur’s appointment as deputy, RiverClan argues that it ends with the sudden death of Leopardstar.
The Power Era was a calm but tense period of the Clans adjusting to new life at the lake, shifting borders and attempting to assert independence, as if it was a push against the oncoming tide of inter-clan cooperation. ThunderClan and its leadership, Firestar and his deputy Brackenfur, pushed for diplomacy until Brackenfur’s mysterious murder, followed by Firestar shortly after, thrusting Bramblestar into sudden power.
The Omen Era crashed into existence with tumult, the clans plunging into paranoia and violence. The Dark Forest grew in strength as the Clans engaged in pointless squabbles, and Lionblaze pushed his children, Ivypool and Dovewing, into danger for the 'greater good'.
Period 5: Shifting Period Revision/Rearrangement/Reckoning Eras
(This will cover the events of A Vision of Shadows, Tigerheart’s Shadow, Squirrelflight’s Hope, and The Broken Code)
The Shifting Period is about changes, as the Clans finally reckon with their culture producing the threat of the Kin, the territory shift to accommodate SkyClan’s return, and finally the tyranny of Ashfur.
During the Revision Era, Darktail seized discontent within ShadowClan to create a movement he could use to destroy them. Many half-clan cats, ex-dark forest trainees, and other code objectors joined his movement, only to find out he was using them. The Kin was only put down with the return of SkyClan, and Darktail's death marks the end of this era.
The Rearrangement Era refers to the literal rearranging of borders to welcome SkyClan to the Lake, a move that sparked war and controversy, even causing them to attack peaceful neighbors to make room. An amendment to the code was made in this time-- that all clans had a responsibility to ensure the preservation of the other 4.
And finally, the Reckoning Era was sparked by the possession of Bramblestar's body by Ashfur. Exploiting the code and resentment towards disloyalty sparked by the previous eras, Ashfur pushed Ivypool into being his pawn, eventually killing her daughter Bristlefrost for being in a half-Clan relationship. Bristlefrost sacrificed her own eternity to finally end Ashfur's tyranny in the Dark Forest, leading to the newest addition to the Warrior code-- Bristlefrost's Law.
And that catches us up!!! I won't be adding A Starless Clan to this list until it's all totally released, and for now we're all caught up!
That was a lot, so HERE'S just the straightfoward list of Periods and Eras, no notes, no nothing.
Ancient Period - Spans from the Sun Trail to the Exile of SkyClan.(Reworks books such as: Dawn of the Clans, Code of the Clans, and Cloudstar’s Journey)

Who gives Firestar lives in the rewrite, then? Also how different is TPB in your rewrite?
Bonefall TPB is the least changed arc! A few weeks ago I made a first draft of the plot beats, if you'd like to go see it. There's some more specific updates I want to add sometime (scenes I want to add, mentor/apprenticeship shuffles too) but I've made sure it's accurate and a good summary.
The cats who give Firestar lives is unchanged, though some of the reasoning could be tweaked. It's solid, and a great introduction to the whole warrior lives ceremony.

i remember the thing with bluestar's forget me nots being part of the AUs section in the pinned post but it's gone now, is it officially a part of the rewrite itself now? unless im misremembering it being an AU entirely lmao
It's official! Bluestar's Forget-me-nots are an important part of the Bonefall Rewrite.
It was removed as an "au" footnote exactly because it is now buffed up into the full Bonefall Rewrite redux of Bluestar's Prophecy, a SE called "Bluestar's Flowers." It explores the development of Thistle Law and what comes to be known as Fire Alone, through a friend group that united cats from every Clan plus Barley Sr.
I made these summaries of some of the various Super Editions, planned to get them on the Masterpost, got a decent amount of progress done, and then fell down and exploded and died.

Warriors Rewrite: The Matter of Barley and His Siblings
I took another page out of @bonefall’s book and made Barley two separate characters: Barley Senior (the father; friend of Bluestar’s) and Barley Junior (the son; Ravenpaw’s cowboy husband). This is a brief summary of the events of their family before Into the Wild starts.
So like in canon, Barley (Jr) and his siblings grew up in BloodClan, now called The Coven of Blood in this rewrite (that’ll be covered in a different post). Their mother was a cat named Coral who lived in the Coven’s territory, although she herself wasn't part of their ranks. One day while close to the border, she encountered an outsider tom sneaking into the city. She apprehended him and instead of being frightened, he was friendly and cordial, introducing himself as Barley. He was attempting to visit his mother, who lived within the city. Against her better judgement, Coral allowed him to enter. He started visiting the city regularly after that, just now it wasn't only to see his mother. Barley and Coral would sit and talk for hours, with him telling her stories of life on his farm and about the wild cats who lived in the forest who really weren't as bad as the city cats were told they were. Soon the two had developed romantic feelings toward each other and Coral became pregnant.
Their happiness couldn't last forever, though: they were found out soon after Coral had four kits: Hop, Jump, Tulip, and Barley Junior. Barley Senior was violently driven away by Brick, while Coral and their kits were forcibly brought to live in “the Capital” (the area in the center of the city where the Coven’s higher-ups and Scourge lived) with Bone, who as it turned out was Barley Senior’s estranged younger brother. The kits were immediately given proper Coven names: Barley Junior became Crusher, Tulip became Venom, Hop became Scorpion, and Jump became Snake. As soon as the kits were weaned, Coral was driven off for breaking a Commandment (she got off VERY lightly given her circumstances) and none of her kits ever saw her again after that.
The four were primarily raised by their Uncle Bone and were brought up to become Gladiators and members of The Coven in the future. While Scorpion and Snake thrived in that life, Venom and Crusher didn’t. No matter what Bone tried, nothing could hide the fact that the two were weak bleeding hearts that couldn't harm a fly. Unable to function in The Coven’s violent society and wanting to meet their biological father, Venom and Crusher fled into the forest one night and never looked back. It took awhile to find the farm- having grown up in the city, they didn't know what a “farm” even was and the forest cats they met were... less than helpful.
“Excuse me! Hi! Can you help us? We’re looking for our dad, he lives on something called a farm but we don't know what that is so we were wondering if you might-”
“YOU’RE TRESPASSING ON CLAN TERRITORY!!! GO AWAY!!!”
“SORRY! SORRY! PLEASE DON’T HURT US!”
They lucked out when they encountered Bluestar going on a walk to clear their head. Upon noting that the two bore a strong resemblance to (or in Crusher’s case, looked completely identical to) her old loner friend, she brought the two to the farm and they were finally reunited with their dad. Barley Senior was overjoyed that his kits were still alive, although he was deeply saddened by the fate of his former mate and his two other sons. Crusher and Venom ditched the Coven names and took back their own: Crusher chose to become Barley Junior again and live in the barn with his father, while Venom preferred to live in the farmer’s house as a kittypet and was named Violet by the farmer and his wife, which she happily accepted as her new name.
And that’s their backstory as of Into the Wild!
