Thought this was an interesting article on @harvard_business_review ... I think we’ve all experienced those bosses/leaders who don’t share a lot of info (or they’ll share the bare minimum. If you hide or hoard info and knowledge from others, think about driving across country with only enough directions to get 50 miles at a time... not knowing where you’ll end up, when you’ll arrive, what the reason for going, etc. Would you feel equipped to make that journey? Would you feel like you are being set up for success? Would you feel like you are a bit blindfolded and left out? Well, that’s exactly how your team members feel when you don’t give them the info & knowledge they need! Show them the Big Picture! Share every bit of information and knowledge you can with them! Prepare them for the journey and set them up for Success!! Take the blindfolds off. And BTW... if you’re not sure if your people think you are hiding knowledge & info... I have always gravitated towards Clutch when reviewing Companies to consider for Partnerships or the Nine Carat Network. When I was approached by Clutch to become a part of their Women Owned Business Certification. I was blown away by their depth and substance! Not to mention an unexpected commitment to a greater cause that was demonstrated by the Team.

There is a familiar story: Three workers are building walls on the construction site, and someone asks what they are doing?

The first person was angry and said, "Building the wall, haven't you seen it?"

The second person smiled and said, "We are building a tall building."

The third person smiled: "We are building a new city."

Ten years later, the first person is still building walls, the second person becomes an engineer, and the third person is the boss of the first two people.

The mind determines the state, and the vision determines the ending.
