Title: Never Forget

His real-life great grandmother is dead after a serious head injure, how sad... 😔

Although, I remember my great grandmother (Marieta) died after her age of 90 (At least she's done celebrating her birthday [on Sept. 10th, 2012] before she passed away.) Rest in peace, Eric's great grandmother and also my related one. 👵⚰️💐

And you know what, since "All Saints'" and "All Souls" Day are coming up next month (a.k.a. "Bantay Undas" in my country 🇵🇭), this also reflects to my great grandpa, Jimmy. Who was died from a COVID-19, 3 years ago. As of today, his ashes inside the urn still in our possession and plan it to send a home province, where he was born. ⚱️🧓

New Askal Agent Interactions

Astra

• Thinks she's very chill.

• Askal likes her art while Astra likes his stickers. Would probably bond over that.

• Likes eating her jollof and would try to recreate it with a Filipino twist and let Astra taste it.

• "Hey Ate Astra! Jollof later after this, ok?"

Breach

• To Askal, he's the Cool Uncle and Breach revels in it.

• Breach would teach him some tips on breaking and entering Kingdom facilities; something Brimstone highly disapproves.

• Breach and Bantay are in bad terms after the robotic canine ripped his bionic arm off of him because the Swede annoyed him.

• Breach brings his dog to Askal despite Askal telling him countless times he's only made prosthetics for pets and not a veterinarian but nonetheless accepts.

Brimstone

• Tito (occassinally Lolo) Joe.

• First meetings did not went well. Especially since Askal had a war flashback seeing Brim's pauldron and restrained himself from sending Bantay after him.

• Eventually he realises Brimstone's intentions and eases around him (though Bantay is still distrusting of him and only tolerates Brim because of Askal).

• Has a strong father and son relationship towards each other.

• Askal usually goes to Brimstone for training as his shooting's shit.

• "Joe! Pwede ba magbigay ng shooting tips after this?"

Chamber

• The moment he first sees him, Askal knows he's up to no good. Even though he has poor perception skills.

• The man is literally shadiness incarnate.

• The weapons he made reminds Askal of the weapons used against the prostestors and his parents.

• Askal is careful not share his work around him and sends Bantay out to spy on him.

• Tries his best not to slap him with a wrench on spot.

• Always accompanying Chamber whenever he views his tech (and Bantay).

• Respects his drip though.

Cypher

• Has mixed feelings with this man.

• Askal does not like the fact that this man is spying everyone and at the same time sympathizes with him for his loss.

• Cypher does not trust Bantay and constantly monitors Askal.

• Eventually Askal rolls with it.

• Sees a camera, does a wacky pose. It's recording? Talks about his day and how Phoenix flashed them AGAIN.

• Has a mutual hatred about Chamber, so there's that.

• "So, Cypher. Bantay has a piece of your shirt in his mouth. Mahilig magpaliwanag?"

Jett

• His cool Ate Jett.

• Loves her fighting style and wind abilities.

• Probably cooks food for eachother and rates the other's dish.

• Askal and Jett in their free time would dance and sing to K-POP; laughing their asses off when one of them sings off-key.

• Bantay likes her knife set.

• "Hey, Askal. Your jacket looks cute. Mind if I keep it if I die?" "Hahaha, Ate. Not if they die first."

• Bonds with the Vine quotes.

Fade

• AH HELL NO

• Askal would be very pissed. Bantay meanwhile is ready to end her.

• He isn't happy that the person who basically exposed his fears and gave him existensial dread is part of the Protocol.

• Argued with Brimstone about it.

• He eventually tolerated her thanks to Brimstone's requests but openly expresses his displeasure around her.

• His anger tones down though once he hears about the kitties.

KAY/O

• Is amazed around KAY/O.

• He wants to know what components he's made out of and would ask KAY/O a barrage of questions that overwhelms the poor bot.

• Is a nice substitute for Brimstone for shooting practices.

• Bantay and KAY/O get along pretty well with their shared hatred of Reyna.

Killjoy

• Engineering buddies.

• Gladly inspects each other's tech and giving critique.

• Bantay thinks KJ's very high of herself and thinks it would lead to her downfall.

• Askal loves her turrets and would put stickers on them which KJ disapproves.

• Calls said turrets "sisiw."

Neon

• Is amazed by her power and worries for her overworking herself.

• After a battle, Askal would treat Neon to sisig and asks her what ingredients her mother uses in her adobo ("Secret." "Ateeee.")

• Part of the Friday Kareoke Group along with Phoenix, Raze, Jett and Killjoy.

• Askal is abit weary of her however. Especially with her Kingdom background.

Omen

• Feels very bad about him.

• Will try his best to console him and try finding out his actual identity.

• Likes his knitting and is instantly reminded of his older sister.

• Would sometimes ask Omen to knit something for him and for Bantay.

• Bantay though doesn't enjoy Omen's company. As he thinks he's an abomination.

Phoenix

• Admires his Kuya a lot.

• He loves how confident and carefeee Phoenix is.

• After a battle, Askal showers Phoenix with praise that may or may not fuel Phoenix's ego.

• Phoenix in return thinks of Askal as little brother and has kept a cool flame sticker that he placed on his guitar.

• Bantay though thinks Phoenix is too cocky. Dislikes him very much but has to save him from harm's way because he knows it'll break Askal's heart.

Raze

• Bonds with music.

• However Raze finds Askal's taste in music, "vintage" which offended him a bit.

• Is the reason why they always get noise complaints on kareoke night.

• Raze tried to prank Bantay with her boom bots one time, it didn't end well.

• Askal and Bantay loves tinkering with eachother's tech under the condition that Raze doesn't add any sort of explosives.

• By their joint effort, they managed to install a speaker system in Bantay so that they can blast some music.

• In their free time, they vandalize Kingdom facilties which gets them in big trouble and adds another headache for Brimstone.

Reyna

• HATES her.

• Askal doesn't like how she steals souls for her to grow stronger and retain youth.

• He isn't afraid to call her names and openly say his beliefs.

• Puts garlic in Reyna's food when he gets the chance just to spite her.

• Bantay thinks she's very hypocritical and worries for Askal. Always keeps a close eye on her.

Sage

• Finds her very calming.

• Sage has this parental aura that Askal really enjoys.

• He is very curious about her Radiance and would ask her questions about her healing properties since he plans to add a healing program in Bantay.

• Askal worries that, like Neon, Sage is overworking herself. After all being a support can be really pressuring.

Skye

• Askal is amazed by her abilities.

• He is so curious by her familiars(?) and would ask Skye many questions about them.

• Every weekend, Askal and Skye have morning walks with their dogs.

• But Askal is annoyed by the fact that he has to wake up like 4 or 5 AM in the morning.

• Askal once asked Skye to teach him how to whittle and since then, it has become one of his favorite hobbies.

• Taz and Bantay are pals-- as they both love to hang out and hunt together.

• This resulted in Bantay getting teased alot. He hates the teasing but can't do nothing about it.

Sova

• Before their relationship, Askal once had a sibling-like bond until he realised he had feelings for Sova.

• Very cheery and polite around Sova and enjoys listening to Sova's stories. However after his realisation about his feelings, Askal felt very awkward around Sova.  

• He doesn't avoid him, but he gets really quiet.

• Phoenix and Jett noticed and starts teasing Askal.

• In the present, Askal and Sova have to keep their relationship a secret due to the Protocol's strict anti-fraternization rule.

• Askal tinkers and upgrades Sova's tech despite Sova's protests but nonetheless thanks Askal for the upgrades.

• Bantay and Sova hunt together in their spare time; the two hunter's enjoying eachother's company.

Viper

• Askal feels a strange mix of discomfort and pity around Viper.

• Her ruthlessness puts him off and whenever their teamates, Askal leaves Viper to do her work.

• He once heard from the others how she once was a great doctor compared to the mad scientist she is today.

• Askal can sense her hurting, so he tries his best to be all friendly around her even if he's met with different emotions.

• Viper enjoys Askal's cooking, and Askal thinks it might be a start.

Yoru

• Normally, Askal doesn't get irritated very easily nor swear.

• But for some reason whenever Yoru's present, the aforementioned are thrown out the window.

• Askal doesn't like his cockiness and ego.

• Like sure Phoenix can be both, but Yoru's to an extreme and Askal hates it.

• Askal thinks Yoru's abilities are amazing but believes his lone wolf persona and arrogance delays everything.

• Bantay and Yoru have a long-lasting rivalry that Askal doesn't know how it started.

KAIBIGAN...?

Mahalaga ang araw na ito para kay Maricar dahil kaarawan niya na. Naghanda ang kaniyang mga magulang ng simpleng salo-salo para sa kaniyang kaarawan, inimbitahan niya rin ang mga kaibigan niya.

“Uy! Punta kayo rito ah? Kaarawan ko pa naman, sayang kung wala kayo.” Nakabusangot si Maricar habang kausap ang mga kaibigan sa telepono.

“Oo pupunta kami, eh kaso inimbitahan mo ba si Aika?” Natahimik si Maricar nang sandali sa tanong ni Lea.

“Iimbitahan palang, bakit?” Tanong ni Maricar,

“Ano ba yan! Ayaw na naming sumama kung gano’n.” Naiinis na sagot ni Kasel,

“Ano bang ayaw niyo kay Aika? Eh sa totoo lang, mabait naman siya." Sagot ni Maricar,

“Kung ako sayo, mag-ingat ka sa mga bantay-salakay.” Payo ni Lea,

“Ewan ko sayo, Lea.” Naiinis na sabi ni Maricar,

“Maiba na nga ang usapan, puwede ba matulog diyan sa bahay niyo?” Tanong ng naman ni Kasel,

“Oo naman, gusto niyo?” Tanong pabalik ni Maricar,

Napatawa si Lea at Kasel bago nagpaalam na patayin na ang tawag. Sunod namang tinawagan ni Maricar si Aika, nakabakas ang maliwanag at malaking ngiti niya kahit kakasaway lang sa kaniya ng kaniyang mga kaibigan na huwag itong kausapin.

“Aika! Punta ka sa bahay, kaarawan ko.” Yaya ni Maricar,

“Sige, maghahanda na ako.” Sagot ni Aika at pinatay ang tawg.

Naghintay si Maricar kayla Lea at Kasel, nakarating din ito pagkatapos ng isang oras Hindi sinasadyang dumating din si Aika paglipas ng dalawang minuto, kaya’t nagkaroon ng matinding katahimikan sa paligid.

“Puwede roon muna ako sa kuwarto mo, Maricar? Masakit kasi yung mata ko, may nakitang hindi kaangkop-angkop.” Paalam ni Lea at tumingin kay Aika,

“Oh sige..” Nag-aalinlangan pang tugon ni Maricar,

“Sunod nalang ako kay Lea.” Umalis si Kasel at umakyat.

Naiwan si Aika at Maricar sa ibaba kaya’t sila lang din ang nag-usap. Habang sina Lea at Kasel naman ay nasa itaas dahil ayaw nilang makita si Aika. Hindi sinasadyang gabihin sila kaya't napagdesisyonan ni Maricar na patulugin si Aika sa kuwarto niya. Umalis naman na sina Lea at Kasel dahil sa pagkaburyo at inis.

Kinabukasan, maagang umalis si Aika. Maaga ring pumasok si Maricar lalo na’t ipapasa niya ang lahat ng kuwaderno niya. Nang pagkaupo niya sa loob ng klase, binuksan niya agad ang bag niya at ang tili niya ang sumakop sa buong eskwelahan. Kasabay rin nito ay binuksan niya ang pitaka niya, ang ipon niya sa loob ay nawala.

“Juskopo! Nasira yung mga laman ng kuwaderno ko, tapos nanakawan pa ako!” Halos mangiyak niyang sabi,

Nagbulong-bulungan ang kaniyang mga kaklase habang sina Lea at Kasel naman ay lumapit agad sa kaniya nang marinig siyang tumili. Pinagtatapon niya ang mga kuwaderno niya sa galit.

“Paano ko ito maipapaasa?! Sira na, punit punit na! Tapos nawawala pa ipon ko, nakakaiyak kasi pati pera nawawala! Hindi naman ito ganito kagabi.” Naiinis niyang sabi.

“Maricar, tumahan ka muna. Hindi mo kasalanan, alam namin kung sino dahil nakita namin.” Hinimas ni Kasel ang buhok niya,

"Kilala mo na siya, Maricar. Huwag kang mag-alala, marami kaming ebidensiya na siya ang gumawa. Kaloka! Nakitulog pa tapos ganon?” Umiling-iling si Lea,

“Kung ganoon, susugurin ko siya!” Naiinis na sabi ni Maricar at agarang lumabas.

Sinundan naman siya nina Lea. Kabilang seksyon lang din nila si Aika kaya't nang makita niya ito na nakaupo ay sumugod siya agad sa loob, sinabunutan niya si Aika at kinaladkad patungo sa labas.

"BANTAY SALAKAY ka eh no?” Naiinis niyang sinampal si Aika,

“Sandali! Ano ba yun? Maricar naman..” Naiyak si Aika dahil sa masakit na pagkakasampal at pagkakahawak ni Maricar sa anit niya,

“Wala akong maipapasa dahil binaboy mo ang kuwaderno ko at pinunit punit mo! Tapos ninakawan mo pa ako!” Naiinis na sigaw ni Maricar,

“Anong ebidensiya mo?” Halos mangiyak si Aika,

Tinuro ni Maricar sina Lea at Kasel, na hindi niya alam ay nagre-record sa kaniya, bakas ang ngiti at rinig ang tawa ng mga ito. Napatakbo naman si Aika papalayo at iniwanan si Maricar.

“Oh bakit mo kami tinuturo? Pinagbintangan mo si Aika tapos wala kang ebidensiya?” Tumawa si Lea,

“Pero ang sabi mo may ebidensiya ka..” Yumuko si Maricar,

“Gawa-gawa ng kwento!” Iniikot ni Kasel ang mata niya,

Hinugot ni Maricar ang camera nina Lea, hindi sadyang napindot niya ang mga records kaya't napunta siya rito. Nawindang naman siya nang makitang naroon ang bidyo ng pagpunit at pagnakaw sa pitaka niya. Itatakbo niya na sana ang camera para gawing ebidensiya laban sa kanila nang tulakin siya ni Kasel, dahilan upang matumba siya at mabitawan ang camera. Agad namang binura ni Lea ang bidyo na ‘yon, at bumulong kay Maricar.

“Sinabi ko naman sa ‘yo, mag-ingat ka sa mga bantay-salakay. Paano na ‘yan? Ang pinakamalapit mong kaibigan na si Aika ay iniwan ka na.” Ngumisi ito bago iniwanan si Maricar.

Was a Filipino poet. He is considered the "Father of Ilocano literature." Blind since birth, he is the believed to have authored of parts of the Ilocano epic Biag ni Lam-ang (Life of Lam-ang).

Being a romanticist, he composed poems and songs which were so tenderly sweet that he gained fame among the Ilokano masses as a gifted troubadour. Bukaneg was good not only in poetry but also in oratory.

Fernando Ma. Guerrero

The king of Balagtasan. His poetry book Crisálidas was published in 1914. Subsequently, he published another verse compilation called Ayes y Flores. Guerrero died on June 12, 1929, coinciding with that year's anniversary of the República Filipina (Philippine Republic). A school in Paco, Manila, was named after him in his honor.

Guerrero was the major lyric poet before and after the revolution, until the introduction of English literature in our schools. Known as the “Prince of Filipino lyric poets” in Spanish, he also played the flute and guitar. In Spanish lyric poetry, he was unsurpassed by his contemporaries.

Pagtuklas sa Nakatagong Kayamanan ng Isla ng Guimaras

    ��       Disyembre 19, 2023, noong panahon ng Christmas break ay pumunta kami sa West Visayas upang makapag-bonding bilang isang pamilya. Pumunta muna kami sa Iloilo bago dumako sa Guimaras. Ang Guimaras ay malapit sa lungsod ng Iloilo at dating pinangangasiwaan bilang bahagi ng lalawigan ng Iloilo ngunit ngayon ay itinuturing na isang hiwalay na lalawigan. Ito rin ang “Mango Capital of the Philippines.” Sa pamamagitan ng isang ferry ay nakarating kami mula Iloilo papuntang Guimaras at 30 pesos lang ang aming ginastos para doon, ang travel time naman ay 15 minutes lang!

            Pagdating namin sa Jordan, Guimaras, sinalubong kami ng mga tao doon na umaalok sa amin kung saan kami pupunta at kung ano ang aming sasakyan. Hindi mo na kailangan mag-book ng mga travel tours kung kaya’t pwedeng-pwede mo na iyon gawin kapag nakatungtong ka na sa isla mismo. Ang pinili naming sasakyan ay isang tricycle na nagkakahalagang 500 pesos kada tao. Masasabi ko namang “worth it!” ang aming binayad dahil nilibot kami ng tricycle sa buong isla.

            Una kaming pumunta sa “Smallest Plaza” na ipinahihiwatig ng pangalan nito, ito ang pinakamaliit na plaza sa buong mundo na may hawak na Guinness World Record na may parehong pangalan. Maliit ang lugar at rebulto lang ni Dr. Jose Rizal ang naroon sa loob. Sunod naman ay pumunta kami sa Navalas Church. Itinayo noong 1880, ang Navalas Church ay ang pinakamatandang simbahang Romano Katoliko at ang tanging umiiral na heritage church sa Isla ng Guimaras. Napakaganda ang simbahang ito. Isang kaakit-akit na hardin ang nasa harapan ng simbahan na napapalibutan ng isang lumang batong bakod. Nakatayo sa harap ang isang toreng nagsisilbing bantay.

            Pagkatapos ay dinala kami ng tricycle driver sa Roca Encantada. Isa sa mga sikat na landmark ng Guimaras ay ang summer house ng Lopez Clan na itinayo sa ibabaw ng burol, na kilala rin bilang Roca Encantada o “Enchanted Rock”. Ang bahay ay itinayo noong 1910 bilang parangal kay Dona Presentacion Hofilena Lopez. Inaalok ng engrandeng balkonahe rito ang maganda tanawin sa dagat. Bumyahe naman kami ng 30 minutes patungo sa San Lorenzo Wind Fam.

            Ang 54-megawatt San Lorenzo Wind Farm ay ang una sa uri nito sa rehiyon ng Visayas at umaabot ng hanggang 14 na kilometro. Ito ang isa sa pinakamalaking wind farm sa Southeast Asia. Nagsimulang mag-operate ang sakahan noong 2014 at mula noon ay gumagawa na sila ng renewable energy na ipinamamahagi sa Western Visayas, Negros, at Cebu. Bukod sa pagiging renewable energy source, ang bukid ay naging sikat din na tourist attraction sa lalawigan. Napakaganda ang tanawin sa itaas at mararamdaman mo talaga ang kagandahan ng ating kalikasan sa pamamagitan nito. Napakahangin doon at ito ang perpektong lugar para maglakad-lakad ka at humanga sa paligid.

            Pagkatapos ng halos apat na oras ng paglalakbay ay dumaan muna kami sa Pit Stop, isang kainan, upang magtanghalian. Sinubukan namin ang sikat nilang mango pizza at ang sarap talaga, gusto kong balik-balikan. Bumili din kami sa kanilang souvenir shop ng mga mango delicacies gaya ng mango otap, mango brownies, at iba pa. Pagkatapos kumain ay pumunta kami sa aming panghuling babaan bago makapunta sa isang resort na aming tutulugan. Binisita muna namin ang Guisi Lighthouse kung saan makikita ang magagandang tanawin ng isla. Ang Guisi Lighthouse ay isang 18th century Spanish-colonial lighthouse na itinayo sa tabi ng dagat. Sa tuktok ng burol ay ang mga guho ng isang Espanyol-kolonyal na outpost at ang mga naiwan na labi ng istrakturang metal na parola. Dahil sa pagbisita namin sa lugar na ito ay nasulyapan namin ang kasaysayan sa panahon noon.

            Panghuli naman ay pumunta kami sa Raymen Beach Resort kung saan natulog kami ng isang araw. Ang Raymen Beach Resort ay isang malinis at kaakit-akit na beach resort. Ito ay perpekto para sa paglalangoy lalo na sa mga bata. Mayroon silang pinong buhangin at kristal na tubig na may magandang restaurant. Kung mas gusto mo sa mga liblib na lugar, ang resort na ito ay hindi para sa iyo dahil maraming turista rito. Sa pangkalahatan, ang karanasan ko sa Isla ng Guimaras ay natatangi dahil sa 500 pesos mo lang ay malilibot mo na ang buong isla, napaka-worth it! Gusto ko tuloy pumasyal muli sasunod.
