Have you ever thought about when Kit and Ty finally meet in TLKOF and they're so stingy and cold and awkward around each other most of the time but sometimes they're so in sync that it's like they're 15 again and they remember how good they were together, and how during these times they share almost-kisses and kisses and heated arguments after that about why he left, why he treated him like nothing, how their hearts were broken, and how they could ever be forgiven, and at some point, inevitably, in a do-or-die situation, Kit's powers and heritage get revealed, and Ty is confused, angry, betrayed that even after all that they've been through, Kit didn't trust him enough to tell him and it only gets worse when he asks Kit afterwards, "when were you going to tell me you were the First Heir?" and Kit replies, totally embarrassed and totally cold, "never" and things just go south from there, but they still push through because they promised some things to each other before they started looking for Livvy, and then one night, Kit gets up, checks if Ty is asleep, puts on some gear and goes on a suicide mission because he's a Herondale and why tf not, and nearly dies, Ty finds him and they declare their love like old legends and then when everything's going well, something terrible happens and THAT'S how TLKOF ends and we need to wait another year at the very least until we find out what happens next because I do.
