The Cliff Wall Was To My Front (New River Gorge National Park & Preserve)
flickr
The Cliff Wall Was To My Front (New River Gorge National Park & Preserve) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: The Cliff Wall Was To My Front Endless, so the sign mentioned Forest of colors caught in the morning sun A river gorge had been carved out below In a contemplative solitude Nature and I chatted about our travels Gone was that morning fog Replaced with blue skies and sun A wildness stood in front of me I was in awe! Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one morning from Diamond Point Overlook while walking the Endless Wall Trail in New River Gorge National Park & Preserve. At this overlook on the trail, I had a view looking to the east-southeast and upstream with the New River. I took advantage of the high ground that I was on to capture a sweeping view across this river gorge and valley. My thinking in composing the image beyond that was to include some of the nearby trees and rock outcropping as kind of a layered approach to look into the image. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation while playing around as I learned how to work with DxO PhotoLab 4. I then exported a TIFF image to Nik Color Efex Pro 4 where I added a Polarization, Skylight and Foliage filter for that last effect on the image captured.
