I’m absolutely delighted to share that I’m a finalist in the 2022 Travel Photographer of the Year awards! A huge thanks to the judging panel and organisers. My photograph has been shortlisted in the Mark of Mankind category. The photograph was made using my Lumix G9 and Leica DG 50-200mm f2.8-4.0 lens; very much a favourite combination of mine. The raw file was processed in LightRoom Classic and finished in Exposure Software’s X7, on my Mac Pro, using calibrated Eizo CG monitors. [Caption] Altered Realities. Reflections part II: As I shared in the previous post, reflections in photography act as a bridge between logical and abstract parts of the viewer. Which means, it grabs the attention of both right and the left brain. Making the presented image a little more interesting as compared to other descriptive photos. In other words, photos with reflection not only provide a description of what was in front of the camera but also give space for playing creatively with ideas and information from the internal experiences of the viewer. This creative space is very important because in this space, the viewer creates their own personal and perhaps private stories. This internal act of creation is based on the external stimulation provided by the photo. Therefore, in that moment, the photo starts being a photo of the viewer as much as it belongs to the photographer who clicked it. In short, the viewer creates the meaning of the image, making the image a part of their personal experiences. Beginnings, I used to hate to start things, but I liked finishing them. Nowadays Time goes by So Fast, I find often, I've started projects only to get sidetracked and feel like I'm not putting forth the effort, only to find myself seeing 100 posts, and as many images as a year ..... another year has passed me by. I dislike intro's for remastered or reorganized content, as I feel like I'm trying to sell something, I'm not and I adding New Content too so here we go. I'm 50 now, my Health is Great,(aside from a snarky auto immune disorder, that no Doctor can resolve in 3.5 years,' Oh how fast Time does go by"! Unfortunately, it seems Time is NOT on my side if something isn't resolved soon), and so I feel I'm forced to try to create a, semi organized Digital Archive of my 25 years of Learning, trying, experimenting, learning, failing, learning, gaining knowledge, and eventually,...Triumphing. The images along the way as well as those priceless stories only, 'Creatives' can tell are my offering! SO shall we begin, Enjoy. *Note the format will be some multi image collections shared in a POST, some special images alone shared in a POST, etc etc, just sit back, I'll do all the work!
