I feel like Guilt Machine as a whole doesn't get enough attention, but this really is an excellent Leonard Cohen cover

AYREON to Release Spectacular Performance "01011001 - Live Beneath the Waves" on May 17th
Ayreon live event is not just any concert. It’s a monumental occasion where the highest-calibre musicians and an enormous production come together to forge a bombastic spectacle. The rarity of these shows only adds to their uniqueness. In September 2023, Arjen Lucassen’s ‘01011001 – Live Beneath the Waves‘ sold out five performances at Poppodium 013 in Tilburg, The…

Arjen Lucassen seems to have a joke around Tommy Karevik whenever the former casts the latter every studio album era
to elaborate
The Theory of Everything
Tommy shares his name with that one album by The Who about a boy who was traumatized into psychologically losing his sight and hearing then having to be drugged to gain his senses back, just like Karevik's character perceived as having deficits in communication then getting drugged himself, both to very bad results in the end
I have pointed the above bullet out to Arjen long ago and we kinda laughed about it
The Source
Tommy was cast as the Opposition Leader just after Kamelot released Haven which has political and rebellious themes in its lyrics especially „Revolution“ and „Citizen Zero“
oddly enough the themes continue into The Shadow Theory which is Kamelot's take on technology killing your soul which is a huge fricking issue in The Source
Transitus
The Theory of Everything had one part where Tommy was belting out WHY?! and now it has its own track
Theory and Source had a dynamic between Tommy and Mike Mills from Toehider and Arjen could not resist casting Mike again even for one song? and they don't even sing together but like you can just sense the dynamic between Daniel and the centurion statue just by the way the two sang the adjacent songs
apparently it's very satisfying to hear Tommy belting out NO!!! several times in succession
Tommy was a firefighter in Stockholm and then he got married and lives in Canada with Kobra Paige now and he's cast as somebody who dies in a fire shortly after moving into a new home with a girlfriend

Lyrics
In a matter of a moment
Lost till the end of time
It's the evening of another day
And the end of mine
Now the starlight which has found me
Lost for a million years
Tries to linger as it fills my eyes
'Till it disappears
Could it be that somebody else is
Looking into my mind
Some other place
Somewhere
Some other time
Some other place
Somewhere
Some other time
Like a mirror held before me
Large as the sky is wide
And the image is reflected
Back to the other side
Could it be that somebody else is
Looking into my mind
Some other place
Somewhere
Some other time
Some other place
Somewhere
Some other time

The horse is out of the barn 🤠 I made ANOTHER comic. Don't ask me why does this keep happening, I really don't know either.
This time, for Arjen Lucassen and Robert Soeterboek's new (old) project, Plan Nine. It was a spontaneous idea from Robert after seeing something I did (I'm guessing it was the Universal Migrator comic), like "why don't we make a comic?", and Arjen told me, and of course I asked him if he was 100% sure because I would ABSOLUTELY do it. T'was a pleasure to work with Arjen again (...but when am I NOT working with him, is the question), and this time with Robert, too.
It was a lot of fun making this, and I had to illustrate basically everything artists hate: backgrounds, buildings, cars, motorcicle, a mule (which I guess is horse adjacent)... It's 22-ish pages, telling a short story for each song, and I may be biased, but I do believe it enriches the listening experience. It's available for pre-order in the Mascot store, and it's released on May 17th along with the album, so... no reason to not get it!

Through the glowing mist, like a fog of radiation // I can see the forming of new planets // Well it's like I've been struck by thunder as I witness all the splendor // And I realize just how small, how small we really are
On a quest for life // Through the sable skies // What a show! (What a show!) // Behold! (Behold!) // The dawn of a million souls
On a bold crusade // In the realm of shade // What a show! (What a show!) // Behold! (Behold!) // The dawn of a million souls
