mys/mcd characters that age regress. in my heart.

warning this has a little angst

mys aaron: almost entirely involuntary, it comes on when he's triggered or under extreme stress. he's nonverbal and prefers quietly curling up to his care giver and sulking until they comfort and cheer him up. he can end up like that for a few hours to almost lasting a few days, and hes extremely clingy and needy and avoids eye contact. aaron likes quiet tactile play from his childhood like building legos and playing with pokemon cards. on the rare chance that aaron can talk, he will go on and on and on and on about video game lore and facts. his cg will need a stack of emergency gaming magazines for him to read up on even if theyre decades old. you will familiarize yourself with the top 50 hardest jrpg bosses by the time its bedtime

mcd dante: loves roughhousing and playing with sticks and most of all feeling protected. he needs lots and lots of reassurance and comfort. do not leave him alone. in his older years past the timeskip, he still partakes in it every now and then, especially after his daughter was born. he gets really into teacup party with nekoette while kc brings them little tiny cakes

mcd malachi: he lived 900 years as a young child of course he regresses. ever since becoming human and being able to grow up in the past 18 years has felt like his life flashing before his eyes and the existentialism and grief of it sometimes gets to him so much that levin or zoey has to coax him back into his safe zone. zoey and malachi are extremely important to each other as they're going through the same thing that everyone else with shorter life-spans just cant comprehend. but on a lighter note, malachi loves reading books and looooooooooove playing with dolls. he absolutely loves animals too and knows 100000 animal facts. levin loves to care for him just as much. although malachi is aging, levin will always be young at heart with him together.

mcd levin: mostly stuff above but heres some more: Levin needs his music box to sleeep!!! hes probably the littlest and most wholesome out of the characters i listed. loves saying mama and babytalk. zoey says her babies will always be her babies and he took that to heart

i want a cg!garroth x lil!reader x cg!laurance. they’re just my comfy boys and i love them so much <3

like garroth is so tender and would give his little infinite snuggles and baby them and coo at them constantly.

and laurance would be such a fun papa, he would play with his tiny all the time and definitely do the “you’re too little for that cutie” thing and would buy them toys.

and together they clash a little because garroth believes in strict bedtimes and bath schedules and laurance sneaks their tiny sweets all day long. laurance would buy their baby toys every time they go to the store and garroth would just be trying to get groceries. they would argue about who gets to hold the babies hand and carry them around if they’re real tiny feeling.

Yes absolutely!! This was a lot of fun to write. Honestly, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of Zane as the caregiver type. But this just made me happy! I hope you like it!!

“Your nails are gonna look so pretty!” Y/N exclaimed excitedly adding another coat. They were currently having some quality time with their caregiver, Zane. Y/N wanted to do something a bit more crafty which involved them painting nails.

“I’m sure it’ll look lovely, my little dove. I can’t wait to see them.” Zane smiled. His eyes were tight shut, as per the little’s request.

They wanted it to be a surprise and they were very excited about it. They felt small, but not too small to the point where they couldn’t do anything.

Which is why painting nails would be the perfect thing for them.

After they begged Zane to pleaseeeeee let them paint his nails, he finally said yes. On one condition. It has to be black. He didn’t care if it was sparkly or if there was designs, although since Y/N was little, he doubts there will be much of a design. But Y/N didn’t care. They wanted to pain nails and gosh darn it, that’s exactly what they intended to do!

Soft music was playing in the background with the lights being dimmed slightly. Sometimes lights can be a bit too hard but if it was too dark, Y/N wouldn’t be able to see what they were doing.

“Annnnnnnnnnnd done! You can open eyes now!” Y/N cried out happily. They were clapping their hands in a way to show their excitement. Zane opened his eye to see dark black sparkly (he knew it-) nails.

“Wow! They look lovely! Thank you so much, cupcake.” Zane thanked them with a smile, patting the top of their head as a way of affection.

Y/N beamed at the compliment. A big, toothy grinned lined their face and Zane could feel his heart melt a bit.

“Ok now that I can’t do much so… did you have any ideas?” Zane asked. Y/N pondered for a second before happily pointing to their switch.

“Stardew Valley!” They excitedly exclaimed running to grab it.

“That’s a great idea.” Zane agreed going over to them. It was a black switch the shared. As Zane’s bail dried they both spent the afternoon chilling together, playing Stardew Valley.

“Maybe letting them paint my nails wasn’t so bad..” Zane thought.

thank you anon!! ik I'm answering these, super late but still sbhdf

I love the idea of boy house sleepovers/playdates when they're regressed!! complete with blanket forts, video games, pizza, someone probably brought battery acid [the drink], everything you'd expect at a boy's sleepover

long analysis after read more, this ask got my brain turning sjdnf, might revise some other HC lists sometime too, and add more detail like in this one to make it fair ! [I definitely don't have a favorite group of characters and its definitely not the most basic favorite group of characters ever in this fandom pssh ]

I also want to clarify since I don't think I have before, while I post a lot about agere and everything is absolutely 100% SFW always, that does not always mean my HCs are safe to read when regressed!! I am someone who's experienced this for a long time and consider myself very well read/educated on this topic, so I talk about all parts of regression. including the messy/scary parts like trauma caused regression, involuntary and stress induced regression, innerchild care and healing, regression brought on by mental health disorders, everything. AgeRegression is a complex topic and mental state, a lot about it is fun, enjoyable, gives people a sense of community, and a safe space to heal. But its not always sunshine and rainbows especially for trauma survivors and I like giving representation to that side of it in my writing

Obviously regressors are 100% welcome on my blog! but when going through agere HCs pleasepleaseplease just keep in mind there might be some more heavy topics discussed if you are not able to handle those at that time !

I feel like Garroth would regress a few times a month on purpose to destress with loved ones. But I also feel like he would experience some forms of involuntary regression at certain points of his life, like the rest of the Ro'meaves, this is a trauma response

Garroth would probably regress from 3 - 10, lots of smiles, constantly needs to be hugging something or someone. He most likely has some type of security blanket or stuffie he carries around

Similar to Zane he might have some hang-ups at first with insecurities surrounding his coping mechanism, because of beliefs their father instilled in them. But he definitely learns to accept his childlike states a lot sooner than Zane despite Zane experiencing them more often

The person he'd trust most as a CG would most likely be Laurance, but he's also a very trusting and loving little guy so I think hed honestly go to anyone who knows about his regression and is willing/able to be with him and help in those moments

"Yeah bro- oh hey, Aww.. heyhey cmere, you alright little grizzly bear?"

"Mhm- jus..Wanted a hug"

"Aw, alright I got you bud. You want to go play legos until Laur and Travis get home?"

Laurance would be a lot more reluctant to regress around people despite desperately needing care and guidance

He's a character whos used to taking care of others and being kind of like the ring leader, he often falls into a caregiver role, but feels wrong letting others care for him.

Obviously, if Laurance voices that he genuinely doesn't want to be regressed and needs help coming out of it, Garroth will respect this. But sometimes Laurance recognizes that he just needs a little nudge to help him not worry so much ab others and let himself relax and Garroth knows this too

He regresses between the ages of 4 - 13 normally and drops down younger when very stressed.

If he does let someone know he's regressing, it will most likely be Garroth. In my HCs the boys are poly and obviously, everyone is equally loved and trusted, But Laurance and Garroth have a specific bond, mainly through being together through many hard moments, that make them more likely to go to the other when they need emotional support in a more intense or constant way.

Sometimes stress becomes too much even for him and he struggles to hide his regressed states, usually, this is when Garroth picks up on this and goes full papa bear mode. Making sure not to overwhelm him, and help him ease into being more comfortable since being vulnerable or letting other people take care of him can be an anxiety trigger, even though he does need it sometimes

When he does let himself regress, he usually just wants to cuddle

Quiet nights spent on the couch or in bed, listening to music while being held or rocked to sleep, or watching tv with some popcorn and a blanket

Him and Garroth also have. So many petnames and nicknames for each other both regression-wise and just in general

Me and Squid both HC Laurance to be a meifwa, when he's small he loves having his ears scratched and pet! kind of like playing with somebodies hair

He normally becomes pretty quiet when regressed, even if he's older

Usually just communicating with points and gestures, or small noises

TLDR: Laur needs to regress more to handle stress, he doesn't let himself, Garroth makes sure he still has that time for himself to relax and get cuddles

Travis would probably be a near life-long regressor due to a mix of mental health and neurodiversity, and trauma from a young age.

I could imagine them regressing younger or older, but honestly usually 3 - 4

They'd make huge pillow forts and blanket nests all the time, partly for comfort, and partly because when small its harder for them to mask demon instincts!! So they like having a small cavelike place to hide

Sometimes their regression can be flashback or fear caused, they've be through a lot and most of what they've been though happened as a kid. So sometimes a flashback can put them back in the mindset

When this happens they really only have a very small group of people their able to turn to and feel safe with, one obviously being Dante

Dante is also who they go to the most when they need a caregiver

Unless their regressed a bit older and more energetic, space for them is very very quiet and relaxing. Usually ending up in big blanket piles watching cartoons with some snacks

When their regressed, it's also a lot harder for them to hide in their human form which is another reason they normally go to Dante (I hc that Dante was the only person to know Travis is a demon in seasons 1 - 5 besides them and Terry)

Dante would definitely regress to around 8 - 10, big kiddo ages and energy to match!

If he doesn't get to a park within the first 5 minutes he is bolting to the backyard to run around and play with whatever he can find

He loves swings and seesaws, definitely stims on swings !

Sometimes he does go a bit younger, around 3 or 4

When this happens he's usually just as excited, but probably not running around as much. He's more likly to be playing some toddler apps on his phone or kicking his feet and watching animewith some juice(specfically bug juice if you know what that is, loved that shit growing up)

He's honestly comfortable being with anyone as his caregiver, obviously happens with Travis a tiny bit more because I see them as inseparable. But he's just as happy cuddling up with laurance or garroth, or even Aphmau and Aaron, and in later seasons especially Zane

He's just a little guy that's happy to be here

I feel like his head would tilt a bit when confused

In my aus and headcanons where Gene redeems himself, as adults when they regress together they still keep that playful sibling dynamic! And a lot of times gene will step up as a platonic caregiver since he knows all of Dantes old favorite cartoons and games from childhood

It took me, so long to finish this post but I'm really happy with it and I hope you all still keep enjoying my agere content!

Aaron and Aphmau made their ways to the room they would be sharing for their stay at starlight, Aaron closed the door behind them and made sure to lock it so that no one would barge in. Once he turned around he looked at Aphmau who was admiring the room. Aaron smiled and let out a content sigh, he made his way to the bed and began to think "Hey aph..?" He asked quietly as she made her way over to him "Y-yeah Aaron?" She asked standing next to him "Where are you wanting to sleep tonight?" He asked as she looked confused "On the bed silly! ... Wait- If you want to sleep on the bed you can!" She said quickly "I don't want to take your space and-" Aaron was quick to cut her off "No no! I want you to sleep there!" Aphmau shook her head "No I insist you sleep on the bed!" She said looking up at him "Aph..please take the bed, I would feel wrong taking in. Plus I have been sleeping in it before you got here and it only feels right if you get the bed" Aphmau sighed and nodded "alright well- I want you right by me while we sleep!" She damanded, puffing out her cheeks making them red. Aaron let out a small laugh and nodded.

As the sun set the two began to get ready for bed, both had been dreading this moment. Aphmau and Aaron both had been having nightmares since the incident causing them to both regress at certain periods of the night. They ultimately ended up taking care of themselves when they were alone but now that they were together who knows what would happen. Aphmau didn't have the slightest clue that Aaron was a regressor and Aaron didn't know Aphmau was one either. The two were now lying down, Aphmau on the bed and Aaron on the floor. Aaron help Aphmau's hand as the two drifted off into sleep.

Aaron began to stirr awake from his nightmare as he heard the sound of crying, anything to get away from the dream was good but crying isn't really any better, especially when that crying is coming from Aphmau. Aaron quickly shot up from the floor realizing that Aphmau wasn't on the bed or holding her hand.

"That's right Hun, in and out just like I taught you" Aaron heard from the living room, the bedroom door being open. Aaron stood from his place on the floor, he had regressed from the scare but not as young as he usually did. Slowly Aaron creeped into the living room and there, on the couch was Melissa with Aphmau. Aphmau say on Melissa's lap and sniffled, she had her head leaning on Melissa's shoulder. Melissa's ear twitched as she turned to look at Aaron "Hey baby bro, why don't you come join us on the couch?" Aaron whimpered quietly as he nodded. Aaron walked over to the couch, seeing Aphmau crying instantly pained him as he quickly went to comfort her "Aaron be gentle alright? She's very upset" Melissa said as Aaron sat gesturing for Aphmau to come over to him. Melissa slowly began to loosen the grip she had on Aphmau, and Aphmau shuffled across the couch to Aaron. Aaron wrapped his arms around Aphmau and looked up at Melissa "Oh you two- did you guys tell each other yet or-?" Aphmau looked up at Melissa, her glossy eyes from crying looking confused. Melissa sighed "oh you two crazy pups- Aphmau, Aaron is a age regressor. Aaron, Aphmau is a age regressor. And I'm assuming by the looks in your guy's eyes your both regressed" she said with a big sigh, she then gave a toothy smile "but that's ok!" She said enthusiastically while also being quiet "lets get you both into actual jammies and get you two a snack. It's been a long night." Melissa slowly began to get up off the couch, her tail swaying behind her. Aaron frowned a bit and held Aphmau tighter when Melissa reached for her "I want to hold her" Aaron said as he began to stand up, holding Aphmau on his hip "I can see that you're big enough to do big boy things. I'm proud of you baby bro" Melissa said as Aaron beamed up at her, his tail wagging behind him.

"Alright, too your guy's room!" She said as she led the way.

Aaron was first to get changed in the bathroom connected to the room, he wore a purple hoodie that had long sleeves and some black sweatpants. Aphmau was next, while Aaron was getting changed in the bathroom, Melissa changed Aphmau who was in a much younger headspace. Melissa looked away as she put a pull up on Aphmau, she then dressed her in a footed onesie that was purple and wolf themed. Something her and Aphmau packed when they went shopping. Aphmau looked up at Melissa and reached for her ears. Melissa let out a yelp as they were grabbed, she tried to gently remove Aphmau's grip on them. "Aphmau, you need to be careful, not every werewolf is comfortable with you touching their ears" she said calmly as she put Aphmau on her side. Aph frowned and teared up feeling bad "It's ok though, you're learning" Melissa said looking up, her eyes meeting with Aaron's "I'm guessing you want to hold her?" She asked as Aaron nodded, Melissa carefully handed Aphmau to Aaron and he smiled.

"alright little ones, let's go down and get you two pups a snack!" She said as she took Aaron's hand. Aaron looked a bit embarrassed "Melissa, I can do it on my own" he protested as she shook her head "nonsense, let me take care of you two. Now let's go" she said as she began to lead them down stairs to the kitchen. Inside the kitchen was Zane who was holding his older brother, Garroth's hand who was in a plain blue onesie and white socks. Melissa looked at the two as Aaron his behind his sister, embarrassed that the two would possibly see them. Aphmau looked over and babbled loudly seeing Zane. Zane quickly turned, seeing Melissa holding Aaron's hand, Aaron hiding behind her with Aphmau in his arms. Zane sighed and shook his head "About time those two tell each other" He joked. "Wait you knew?" Melissa asked as Aaron stayed behind her "Well I knew about Aphmau, and Garroth had told me once or twice that he saw Aaron regress but he didn't want to ask him about it. It was only as matter of time before they told each other or something happened and the other one regressed in front of the other. I told Aphmau to just tell him, but she insisted on not." He explained as he turned to Garroth, handing him a small bag of animal crackers. Garroth smiled and quickly opened the bag, eating the crackers "Well, Garroth just wanted a snack. We'll get out of your way. Goodnight" Zane said as he began to lead Garroth out of the kitchen. Melissa gave a giggle and looked at Aaron "See? No one here wants to hurt you, and no one is gonna judge you." She reassured as he began to calm down. Aphmau began to grow fussy, her tummy rumbling from hunger. "Alright, alright, let's get you two a snack." Melissa said as she walked to the cabinets. Aaron sat at one of the barstools, bouncing Aphmau on his knee to calm her fussing. "Ah ha! Found something" Melissa said as she walked over, a packet of gummies for Aaron and some apple sauce for Aphmau. Melissa opened the gummies and handed them to Aaron who thanked her before beginning to eat. Melissa took Aphmau and sat down at the island, she sat Aphmau on her lap and began to spoon feed her apple sauce. Aaron and Aphmau had finished their snacks, Aaron had gotten himself a cup of water (thankfully the resort had plastic cups along with glass). Melissa got Aphmau a cup of water and helped her drink it slowly. They would have to go shopping for some supplies later but this worked for now. The two of them grew tired and Melissa let out a yawn. "It's time to get back to bed. I'll sleep on the living room couch Incase one of you wake up and need me." Melissa said leading Aaron upstairs, this time Melissa had Aphmau in her arms.

Aaron lied down on the floor where he was previously, and Melissa tucked him in before tucking Aphmau in. Aphmau and Aaron held hands and slowly began to drift off to sleep. Melissa carefully exited the room and closed the door. She sighed and walked to the living room couch, she wrapped her tail around herself and began to fall asleep as well. It was a long night, but everything turned out in the end.
