Darla/Angelus is also great because the show has a competing designated OTP and they exist to serve as contrast and hateful competition to THE ship. they are soulless monsters even by the standards of soulless monsters, they literally make the other soulless monsters go "yikes... your relationship seems not good maybe." but they love each other so fucking much. the writers can't help it. they are constantly trying to find their way back to each other. the way she hits him over a head with a shovel and leaves him to an angry mob while he tries to say he doesn't mind dying if it's with her AND the way they coo about it to each other afterwards. the way she takes him back against her better judgement because she missed him so so much but then kicks him out again later because he still can't be who she needs him to be. that's just how they say i love you.

theres multiple reasons i dont like s/urgeamy but one of the things ive seen people do with it that annoys me a bit is the idea that surge and kit are going to become good because surge is gonna fall in love with amy and thats gonna be her only motivation to change.. and im sorry but am i the only one who thinks it would suck so bad for such fun antagonists to instantly switch sides just because one of them was "fixed" by romance and no other reason

i think it would be very funny if lime kept stealing all of mochis side quests because he thinks theyre fun even though he doesnt need any of the rewards and everyone is pissed because they could actually use the things she gives in exchange but lime keeps fucking taking all the side quest resources before anyone has a chance to report back

fun fact, during my first fully blind playthrought of bg3 I honestly thought gale was the writers' favourite if nothing else because of how much varied dialogue he had. like I never reallly had a conversation with astarion that wasn't about his trauma, his vampirism or how boring I am for not wanting to take over a cult but I knew all of gale's hobbies, two or three childhood's anecdotes and the whole history of tara, who he was making plans to introduce to me later.

#like i was honestly feeling sorry that astarion wasn't allowed even a single conversation about idk the fucking weather #i think because subconscously I was also comparing it to da2 which was careful to try to give characters more than just their trauma so #so I was like poor astarion he's just the trauma character #and then i found out HE was god's specialest princess #despite the fact that the official specialest princess still got conversatons about things that aren't her trauma DESPITE HAVING AMNESIA #bg3 #i don't even know where I am going about this it's just something that really stuck out to me about the writing #anyway thank god larian immediately set me straight and let me know my beloved wizard is actually the writers punching bag #god forbid I break my strike of not being wild over the more popular character in an rpg I guess #oh and they let me know i was supposed to be annoyed rather than going oh man I am glad I am learning so much about gale #like I understood why lae'zel had less content and expected her to have more in act 3 which she didn't but whatever #she should have #i mean now having played with everyone in the party for the whole game they all need more content but still #like astarion has more content than anyone else but also somehow I know less about him than anyone and like why

Unfortunately I was reminded of Variable Barricade and I'm like "haha ah yes, the worst love interests you can imagine thrown into one game so that the MC can be disgusted with all of them". Then I was like "I miss my son, Nayuta. What a little freak. I want to draw him again". But also had no idea what to draw so I drew him getting yelled at by Ichiya and OH MAN. WHAT A SHOCK. i remember watching boardwalk empire and yknow it’s a show about actual gangsters and criminals during the american prohibition era. downright despicable people committing crimes from the very light to the especially heinous. and yet, and yet, outside of the tumblr bubble (which still had an active bwe fandom at the time), i’d come across thread after thread of why margaret thompson or gillian darmody or daughter maitland or lucy danziger or freaking billie kent was Actually the Worst Character on the show. when willie was Right There. people will always find a reason to uwu-ify the guys and dismiss the women as ‘annoying’. every time.

Everyone playing some kind of spirit for a village festival and Naruto ends up being just a lil too believable as a mischievous sun spirit getting woken up by the loud festival and refusing to go back to sleep, that even people who know 100% that all the “spirits” are just ninjas volunteering to make the kids happy are squinting their eyes suspiciously at him
