River Plays: Pikmin 4 - Part 1: Catching Up
Since it's come to my attention that I cannot play games normally and have to write down my every experience and thought, I'm just going to jump right into journaling regardless of how late I am into the game! I'm finishing up my current day, then we can get into what I've completed so far.
☀️ Day 24 - Serene Shores
This area caused me to rage quit the last time I played this, because I went in overstimulated and the way the water was ignoring how Ice Pikmin are supposed to work was making me want to cry. But my friend told me I'm really going to like this area, so I'm going back in with a fresh mind. After completing the last day with little stress, I feel a lot more confident.
I get the little golf ball out of the way, as well as harvesting some flowers. At the point I've started writing this, I've cleared the enemies on the way up to the peak of the sandcastle, and I'm puzzling out how to conquer the base boss. Clearly, I can't attack it normally due to its impenetrable shell. So I'm using my items to figure out a different way...
Update: I FINALLY beat it after just, relentlessly throwing Reds at it during the phase where you're trying to pull its tail to the ground, because the whistle means nothing during this fight apparently and you can bust your lungs blowing it all you want but your Pikmin might as well be on another planet. It worked! It took a lot of trial and error, but it worked! So my base is now at the Sand Keep.
The rest of the day was just dandori as usual.

I'll be marking the connections I didn't make myself and crediting them in the footnotes.

Year of the Dog - Anglo-Français and Français hounds “Anglo-Français and Français hounds are a general type of hunting dogs that include ancient French hounds and breeds created by mixing the French dogs with English (Anglo) Foxhounds:
(3) Français Tricolore, the classic hound that follows a hunter on horseback. Similar to the Poitevin.
(2) Français Blanc et Noir, the original evolved over centuries and was influenced in the 19th century by crosses with THE Poitevin and the Grand Gascon Saintongeois.
(1) Français Blanc et Orange
(2) Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Noir, originally from the 19th century Bâtard Anglo-Saintongeois type, a cross of the Saintongeois and the Foxhound.
(3)  Grand Anglo-Français Tricolore, the French hound breed most influenced by the Foxhound.
(1) Grand Anglo-Français Blanc et Orange, originally from crosses between the Billy and the Foxhound, showing a great deal of the English foxhound type. These names replaced older names in 1957, when it was decided to append "Anglo-Français" to the names of all the hound breeds that had been crossed with foxhounds. "Grand" (French for "large") does not mean that the dogs are especially large, but rather that they hunted in large packs. Hunting with the hounds was originally done in two styles, Chasse-à-Courre, in which the pack chases and kills the game animal, and Chasse-à-Tir, where the pack (or sometimes an individual dog) circles the game animal and chases it back towards the waiting hunter.
Individual hunting hounds are not well suited to be pets, as they need a great deal of space, exercise, and experienced handling. Most breeds are usually kept in packs or 20 to 100 dogs. The French and Anglo-French hounds are bred as hunting dogs, not as pets or for show, and are registered through the Société Centrale Canine (French Kennel Club) and the Fédération Cynologique Internationale. Some dogs of these breeds have been exported to North America and are recognised by the United Kennel Club, which has specialized in hunting hounds for many years.
(3)  Originally there were three lines of the Poitevin, the Larrye, the Montemboeuf and Céris. The finest of these lines, the Larrye, was created by the Marquis de Larrye of Poitou in 1692 when he received 12 hounds from the Dauphin of France, these he crossed with local hounds and English Staghounds. The breed suffered during the French Revolution, in 1793 Marquis François de Larrye of Poitou was beheaded during the Reign of Terror. After the revolution, two brothers of the de la Besge de Montmorillon family, Emile and Arthur, set about reviving the breed, a difficult task as only two hounds of the Larrye line had survived. The breed's fortunes were again in doubt when a rabies epidemic swept through the pack in 1842. The breed was revived through extensive out crosses of Foxhounds, by careful selection for type, the foxhound's influence was reduced within three generations, with Poitevin features such as skull profile and ear length being restored to the breed. Further infusion of Foxhound blood was necessary following World War II.
Originally bred to hunt the wolf, today the Poitevin is used to hunt boar and deer; the breed is renowned for its extraordinary nose, melodious voice, athleticism and endurance. The breed’s extraordinary speed has given rise to the nickname "Greyhound among the French hounds".
The Poitevin was central to the development of the Grand Anglo-Français Tricolore, Chien Français Blanc et Noir and Anglo-Français de Petite Vénerie. All three of the original strains (prior to infusions of Foxhound blood) were used in the development of the Billy in the 19th century.”

L’École Buissonnière de Nicolas Vanier
Adaptation cinématographique de : Nicolas Vanier Tiré du livre de : Nicolas Vanier Année de sortie : 11 octobre 2017 Avec : François Cluzet, Jean Scandel, Valérie Karsenti, Eric Elmosnino et François Berléand. Nationalité : Française Genre : Comédie dramatique Durée : 116 minutes
Synopsis :

The Anglo-Français de Petite Vénerie is a medium-sized breed of dog used in hunting as a scenthound, usually in packs. It is one of the Anglo-French hound breeds which were created by crossing French scenthounds with English (Anglo) foxhounds. The name Petite Vénerie does not mean that dogs of the breed are petite or small, but rather that it is used to hunt small game. More details Android, Windows

Year of the Dog - Anglo-Français de Petite Vénerie “The Anglo-Français de Petite Vénerie was created from crosses of older Anglo-French hounds with Harrier (Beagle) and Poitevin, and also with the Petit Gascon-Saintongeois and the Petit bleu de Gascogne. The French hunting hounds have a very long history, with named local types being recorded in the 16th century. Unlike the larger hounds, the Anglo-Français de Petite Vénerie was not intended for hunting large game. It was primarily used in the Chasse-à-Tir, where the pack (or sometimes an individual dog) circles the game animal and chases it back towards the waiting hunter. Before 1978 the breed was called the Petit Anglo-Français, as it is the smallest of the Anglo-French hounds.”
