"Do you know this story?"
"Of course I do! This is my favorite story in the history of ever! When the prince was willing to give up his life of luxury for the waitress, and the waitress was willing to break their deal because she realized her dream would be incomplete without him... It gets me every single time. Just— the way he's looking at her!"
"You're right. He looks absolutely love-struck."

I know that what I'm about to ask is major... But since you have that au with TDC... I wanted an OUAT one, or at least your thoughts. Who do you think the Winx characters would be if they were OUAT characters? (Like do you think Griffin would be Zelena or Stella is Belle?) (Not my predictions, just making examples.) Thank you. :)
To do this I will have to completely disregard any and all relations between the OUAT characters so that I can just focus on which Winx character reminds the most of that specific OUAT character without worrying about their relations.
Griffin actually works as Zelena but you have to mash Zelena as she was when she first appeared and season 7 Zelena in order to get closest to the vibe Griffin gives off. There is the jealousy Zelena had towards Regina which Griffin kind of displays towards all fairies in season 1 but there is also the more caring and motherly side of season 7 Zelena that Griffin shows when it comes to her students.
Valtor would be Hades in that case. Wants to rule the world - check. Had his heart stopped (symbolically) and needed love to reset it - check. Fucked up with said love and made her turn against him - check. Has family he wants to be free of - check. Is sorta immortal - check.
Faragonda, I think, could work as Regina if she never went evil (and in that case Faragonda’s mother - the way I imagine her - would fit perfectly as Cora). Regina was a good-hearted and hopeful person before she turned evil and she also has that resilience that I think fits with Faragonda, too. So when you remove the Evil Queen parts from the equation, I think the two come pretty close.
Saladin, for some reason, is giving me Gideon vibes. Good-natured but still sort of... temperamental, I guess. I know that was just Gideon being controlled by the Black Fairy but the vibes are still there.
Hagen seems perfect to fill in for Robin. Neither exhibited too much personality but both left behind the women they were (supposedly) in love with in the name of a noble cause. Also, good with weapons (or at least one specific kind).
Marion & Oritel I will just put as Elsa and Anna’s parents bc they got lost and were (presumed) dead, leaving behind their two daughters. Plus, they had a big responsibility to shoulder with their kingdom (which Gerda sort of had too after she had the memories of her sisters erased).
Daphne would be Anastasia Tremaine (from s7). She totally gave her life in her attempts to protect her little sister and was then kind of dead and in need for her body to be revived. Also, has pretty powerful magic. Works for me.
Bloom I would put in the role of Merida. They are both impulsive and good in a fight and also princesses that needed to claim their kingdoms. Very determined to the point of being irresponsible with themselves.
Stella is really giving me Ruby vibes. Her facade is very similar to Ruby’s cursed persona but inside she is a gentle soul an a romantic and Ruby is both of these. Also, Stella’s more aggressive side totally corresponds to Ruby’s werewolf form.
Flora actually reminds me of Snow a lot. Kind and gentle but also ready to throw down if you hurt the people she loves. And Snow used to live in the forest for a few years so that would also make Flora a good stand-in for her.
Musa kinda reminds me of Dorothy. Very brash and aggressive on the outside but actually only wanting to be among friends and feel loved. And also to do what she loved.
Tecna I would actually put as Belle because they are both the ones with the research and info but they get it in different ways. I also think their personalities sort of correspond bc Tecna is a kind person who is also not afraid to stand up for herself and Belle is the same.
Layla actually reminds me a lot of Tiana. Both need to carry the weight of their kingdoms on their shoulders and sometimes that gets in the way of personal life and just completely pushes it away.
Teredor is kinda giving me Merlin vibes but obvs without the magic.
Niobe could totally be Nimue from before she became the Dark One. I think.
Zarathustra & Ediltrude - Drizella & Gretel 2.0. Although, I can’t exactly tell which would be which. They both kinda have a mix of Gretel and Drizella’s personalities (at least the way I headcanon them).
Sky I could put as Neal on account of Neal loving Emma but still hiding things from her and sort of screwing her over when he let her go to jail. Sky really let Bloom down with the whole Diaspro thing and that wasn’t the only time he lied to her. And there are some of Neal’s better qualities that he also has. Plus, he is a much better person than his father but still loves Erendor no matter how big of an asshole he is.
Brandon actually gives me David vibes. Honorable, kind of a warrior, brave, charming and supportive of the ones he loves, kinda dumb as fuck at times. That seems to check out.
Riven kind of reminds me of Killian at his worst. A little less charm and a little more rage.
Timmy as adult Henry. I think he has the same energy of not really knowing what the hell he is doing but still handling himself and managing to romance his way with his girl. They kinda give me a very similar vibe.
Helia I don’t really know what to do with. I am not quite sure who to put here.
Nabu would be Naveen. Not much to say here since I don’t really remember that much of Nabu but I think he would fit as Naveen. Maybe his ego is a little smaller than Naveen’s. But then again, maybe not.
Icy gives me vibes similar to Maleficent. Cold and competent. Sassy as hell. Totally doesn’t take shit from anyone. And it is kinda ironic that Maleficent can turn into a dragon.
Darcy would fit pretty well in the role of Cruella. She certainly knows how to make herself look innocent and appealing while she’s an actual nightmare.
Stormy I would put as Ursula just to have our complete trio and because I think there is some merit to that even if Ursula doesn’t quite have the chaotic energy of Stormy.
Darkar I would put as Pan. Kinda has his own realm, kinda wants the ultimate power (parallel to Pan’s chase of immortality), kinda has a master plan and pulls the strings of everyone around like they’re marionettes. Also, Pan got Henry’s heart and Darkar used Bloom’s in a sense so that fits as well.
Fake Avalon I would put as Rumplestiltskin because of the way he also played everyone around them. And his work on turning Bloom dark really reminds of what Rumple did with Regina. Also, kinda changes appearances from a man to a beast.
(I really wanted to do Mike and Vanessa but I have no idea which OUAT characters they would be so... we’ll have to do without that.)

Chapter I //
______________________________________________________________
It was the sudden press of wet, warm skin against her back that roused her from her deep slumber. Heavy eyes blinked open, the breath-taking view of the cityscape the first thing she saw. There was a sluggish moment where Alex stared blankly ahead, hazy mind devoid of anything but the complete serenity she felt then and there.
Slowly regaining consciousness from the sleep spell, it was only then she remembered she wasn’t alone in her bed. Well, that and the warm, sweaty chest that was pressed up against her also sweaty back which was getting increasingly uncomfortable.
A quick glance to the air conditioning told her that in the midst of their whirlwind of a tryst last night they had not bothered with the AC, and now they were both paying the price for it. It was a bloody hot summer night.
Although looking back in hindsight, back to just – Alex twisted her body over Ethan’s sleeping form to see the glaring red numbers on the clock on her bedside table; - to just two hours ago, it was a bloody hot summer night metaphorically as well. She could feel the beginnings of a blush blooming on her already hot cheeks. Maybe it was the fact that they hadn’t been with each other intimately for a little over a week. Sexual tension stretching on for that long - especially when both of you worked together during the day, could do wonders for reunion sex.
Looking at Ethan now, she just wanted to curl back into his arms and never let go, that or wake him up for round three of mind-blowing sex. He would not be opposed to that; or if he was for whatever reason, she could always wake him up with him in her mouth to tip the scales in her favour. Alex grinned at the salacious thought. Oh, he would be delighted.
But no, not yet at least. Her body was screaming to cool off, and by the looks of Ethan’s body which she could see was covered with a thin layer of sweat, he needed the chill air as much as she did. Alex shifted to get out of bed, sore limbs protesting at the sudden movement. She heard a deep hum behind her as she left the comfort of the sheets; seemed like her limbs were not the only ones that noticed her departure from sleep.
With light feet, she padded around to the air-conditioner and switched it on, lingering for a few seconds to catch the beginnings of the cool breeze blowing out from the machine. Feeling much cooler, Alex bent to pick up a strewn dress shirt off the parquet, slipping weary arms through the sleeves. She stared at Ethan’s slumbering form as she buttoned up the shirt, fond eyes trailing from his taut stomach where sheets met skin, to his peaceful face, forehead unfamiliarly free of his permanent frown. He was beautiful and she loved every moment with him.
Alex sighed wistfully, lips trembling at the thought that at the end of the day, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t have the man that was sleeping in her bed. Alex left her bedroom, closing the door behind her as quietly as she could, lest she woke up any of her nosy roommates.
When Ethan had stumbled into her apartment late last night after their melodramatic phone call, eyes blazed with a fiery determination, Alex was only semi-conscious at the curious, and also cheeky looks her roommates were shooting them before Ethan dragged her to her bedroom and slammed the door shut, not even pausing to acknowledge the other occupants in the unit.
She made a beeline for the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water, before moving to the glass windows that overlooked the city. She was always a sucker for beautiful views, although if she was being honest, Ethan’s home view was much more of an eyeful than hers was. For one, his building was directly facing east, which afforded every resident the gorgeous view of every sunrise every morning. Ethan didn’t realise that fact until she had pointed it out one morning after she had stayed the night. That night when they were not attending and intern, just…people wildly attracted to each other.
Thoughts once again returning to the frustratingly irresistible man and the mess that they’ve always seemed to be able to land themselves in, she sighed his name into the glass, staring at the horizon wishing on the city lights for a better world where love came before duty instead.
Suddenly, a strong pair of arms wrapped around her waist, before tugging her back into a solid warm, naked chest. Before he had even spoken, her body had automatically surrendered to the familiarity. The arms tightened around her and pulled her even closer.
“Mmm I was getting cold without you, you know,” he teased, gruff voice still heavy from sleep. When she didn’t reply immediately, calloused hands rich of his years in the medical field rubbed her arms soothingly, and she could hear his question in the gesture.
“Is everything alright, Alex?”
There was a tinge of fear and insecurity in his voice that she loathed. She had heard a similar tone when the whole debacle with Naveen happened and she remembered how absolutely crushed he was during that period. She hoped he would never reach that low ever again. And especially not with her as the reason. No way.
She finally turned around in his arms, eyes alight with love and affection in the moonlit room. She tried a half-smile, raising a hand to brush his bed-head fringe away from his intense electric blues. There was a slight tremble to her bite which the both of them noticed.
“How could they not be?” She was met with no reply, instead the fierce stare of Ethan Ramsey, although the reason for his penetrative gaze wasn’t work related for once.
Neither said anything, the only sound between them the deep steady breaths each of them took.
“You’re thinking about us again.” He stated, flatly.
There was a sudden flare of anger within her that she could barely contain. “How could I not, Ethan?” Alex snorted, stepping back and away from the safety of his arms only to run into the safety of her own, crossed over her chest. Guarded away from him.
“You do know after tonight we’re back to square one again. At the rate we’re going, we won’t be making any progress with this.”
Ethan’s eyes blazed a dangerous blue. She saw him move to point a finger at her, but elected instead to clench his fists at his sides. “Hey, you were the one who seduced me to come over tonight. If you hadn’t called me last night, none o-”
“Wha-Whoa, WHOA.” Ethan halted at hearing the sharp edge to her voice. Smartly, he slowly closed his mouth from running away with further words that was no doubt the reason for her outburst. Alex Coleman did not easily lose her patience, and that was one of the reasons why she made such a fantastic doctor at Edenbrook. However, when her patience did snap, boy was it a scary sight to behold. It made even the great Ethan Jonah Ramsey quiver where he stood. Slightly.
“Seduced? I seduced you?” There was an ugly, snort-laugh that came from her. Ethan levelled her with a steeled look.
“My, how pathetic must the great Ethan Ramsey be if all it took to seduce him was a phone call.” Alex crossed her arms even tighter over her chest, her chin tilted slightly upwards with a cruel smile on her face.
“I-okay, that was out of line. I apologise.”
She shook her head and he knew she was mocking him. “No, no,” she moved to walk past him, away from the windows where she sat down on the sofa and patted the spot next to her.
“Tell me all about it, how I seduced you.”
Ethan sighed. “Come on, Alex. Don’t do this now.”
“Oh? Why not? I respectfully disagree, Dr Ramsey. I mean, since after this we’re probably going to be as good as strangers, again, I think now is the perfect time.”
When there was another silent beat of him still rooted to the floor, Alex got up and disappeared into the kitchen. He could hear the clinking sound of glasses. A too short of a moment later, she came back out with a bottle of Bordeaux and two wine glasses.
“Here, these should help.” She stated, all too sweetly for his liking. Well, if they were indeed going to go through with this talk, he would not refuse alcohol.
Seated, Alex handed him a glass and held hers up towards him. “Cheers,” she smiled smugly, “to screwed up people and even more screwed up situations.” She clinked his glass and took a mouthful without waiting for him.
“You’re not screwed up.” He sighed, slowly sipping on the wine. Sour as this conversation may be, the wine was thankfully not.
“Really? Screwed up enough to seduce people without even knowing it, though.”
“Okay, no.” He set both their glasses onto the glass coffee table, turning fully towards her. “Listen to me.” He was using the voice he always did on the interns at Edenbrook. He practically commanded her attention.
“I didn’t mean that. It was a slip of the tongue.” He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
Although she could see the taut tension in his body language, his voice was softening. “I was just…frustrated about this. About this situation. Not about us.”
Satisfied that she was listening intently, snarky attitude absent, he continued. “I’m as frustrated about this as much as you, Alex. Really. I’m just…better at hiding it, I suppose.”
“And I guess, as the older, and supposedly, more mature one between the both of us, I felt that I had the responsibility to be the one to keep the distance between us apart. As ordered by the law of ethics.” He rolled his eyes.
“And I hated every moment of it. I had to be the one strong enough to refuse you. And, how could I?” He moved closer to her, reaching carefully across for her hands to engulf them gently in his much larger, warmer ones.
“You,” he swallowed, throat suddenly feeling constricted, “are the best thing that has happened to me in a long time, and I really, really, don’t want to lose you.”
Alex could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Ethan rarely opened up to her. To bare his soul out in the open for her like that…she could tell it did not come easy to him, not like being a doctor did.
“And this fucked up situation is making keeping you even harder. I honestly am not sure why you’re attracted to me; and frankly I apologise that you are – stuck to a run-down old man that’s past his prime in the medical field? Actually, I take back what I said, you are pretty screwed up.”
He had a habit of running his mouth silly whenever he was nervous, especially around her. Alex giggled. Oh, Ethan.
She pulled her hands out of his grasp only to nudge him back into the sofa and moved to straddle him. Without warning, she pressed her lips to his. When they met, it was like they never fought and everything was perfect as it should be. Ethan met her kisses hungrily, tongue swiping over her bottom lip, begging for entrance; and when Alex opened to meet him halfway, Ethan moaned. He gripped her hips tighter, pulling her further down onto him. He bared his soul to her tonight, and she would do the same for him. He could reach down into the deep recesses of her soul and burrow in there for eternity and she would let him. She didn’t think she would survive if he didn’t. He had made himself essential to her, given her something to be – a better version of herself and she, he. There was no way they could be apart without combusting into twin flames of desperation for each other. The same desperation that their kisses were feeding off now, after having to be apart for a week.
“Alex…” Ethan moaned, and damn it all if she didn’t love the way he swallowed her name whole, and to spit it back out like sex.
“I don’t want to lose you.” She met his desperation with equal fervour, hands slipping from his hair to his naked torso, lightly scratching as they went lower. Ethan moaned aloud.
“Fuck, baby,” he panted, and she was suddenly aware of something deliciously digging into her lower back.
Ethan broke the kiss, pulling back to stare at her in all of her aroused glory, pupils diluted, cheeks flamed, lips swollen. “Why’d you stop?” Alex asked, panting as hard as he was.
“We’re on the sofa of your apartment, the same apartment which you share with your roommates. I’d rather not wake them up to the sound of us going at it.”
She flung her arms around him and burrowed her face into the side of his neck, inhaling his masculine scent that was so…him. He was still half-hard, and she couldn’t resist grinding against him. It got her the exact reaction she wanted.
Ethan had to bite back a moan, although he could not stop the intense desire from flaring up in his eyes. “Hm. Now see? This is the seducing I was trying to talk about.”
A laugh bubbled out of her. “Shut up. Don’t ruin the moment.” Nevertheless, she stopped her motions, and returned to her previous position, face hidden away in his neck.
Ethan stayed silent after that, arms around her waist, fingers stroking her back. They both sat in the silence for a long while, content. When he thought she had fallen asleep, deep breaths the only indication that she was still with him, she spoke.
“You won’t lose me.” Ethan sighed. “You don’t know that.”
She shook her head and pulled back to look at him, her eyes instilling an unspoken promise within him. “You won’t. Not if I can help it.” He smiled at her, a sad smile, and it tore at her heartstrings.
“You’re perfect, you know that?”
Alex smirked at him. “Thought you said I was screwed up?” Ethan laughed, pulling her back to his lips for a long press. “Perfect for me then. Another screw up.”
“Well then,” she smiled, a teasing lilt that complemented her sultry eyes, “take me to bed, Dr Ramsey and I will show you just how perfect I am.”
She felt him shiver at her words, and his eyes darkened dangerously that sparked a pool of desire low within her. “Oh, Dr Coleman, I intend to do a thorough physical examination of your attributes, and if there are any pockets of flaws at all, I will live in them.” He growled lowly.
Alex gasped, lips parted in anticipation and desire that was sure to be coursing through her bloodstream.
“Wow, I didn’t know you two had a thing for roleplay.” The both of them whipped their heads around to see Elijah in the light of the kitchen, eyes squinting from the lull of sleep.
“I-uh,” Ethan stammered, his lap still full of a doctor. When he shifted to stand, Alex resisted, thighs clamping down around him, a naughty smile plastered on her face.
“Just working out some kinks, Elijah, you know how it is.” To emphasise her point, Alex started massaging Ethan’s shoulders, throwing a wink his way.
Elijah narrowed his eyes at them, before bursting into a chuckle. “Nice pun there, ‘lex. Got to give you points for that.” He shook his head, smiling. “Don’t mind me, just needed to use the bathroom.” With that, he disappeared down the hallway toward the bathroom.
There was a long silence before Ethan clicked his tongue. “You’re too cheeky for your own good, rookie.”
“Hm, and yet you choose to stick with me.”
“Screw up, remember?” Alex bent down, lips brushing tantalisingly against his ear; voice low.
“Then you better take me to bed now and screw me good.” There was no hesitation from Ethan after that, as he picked her up easily and marched back towards her bedroom with purposeful strides, a giggling woman in his arms.

Day Two - Cairo
Yesterday was a mix of great surprises and also a couple of let-downs. We got way more than we bargained for when we showed up at the Shaar Shamayim Synagogue in downtown Cairo and were the only ones there. It's basically a huge grey synagogue from the outside with around 7 armed guards sitting in front. We gave them our passports and after checking us out they guided us to the back courtyard of the shul. We were greeted by a Muslim Egyptian woman named Naveen. She told us that we were lucky the president of the Jewish community in Cairo was in her office. We said a quick hello to Magda and then Naveen showed us around the synagogue. It was built in 1902 but basically evacuated from 1956-1967 when Nasser first told the Jews with other passports to leave, and following the six-day war, imprisoned anyone who was Jewish. It was kept in great shape and we were able to look around, peak inside the ark, and even got the chance to hold a sefer torah. After we looked around we went outside to meet Magda and talk to her for quite some time. We moved to her office and she told us the plight of the Egyptian Jewish community. She explained that there are only seven members of the Cairo Jewish community left, and maybe only one or two more outside if Cairo. However, she is in her sixties and the youngest of the women here. She said they're losing about one or two every year and soon enough there will only be non-jews to take her position. All of the upkeep for the synagogues come from the "drop of milk" organization. An organization that classically helped widows and orphans in the Jewish community. They also use the funds to pay for the health and allowence of the remaining women. Naveen and Magda grew up together and that's how Naveen got involved. We spoke to a couple others invovled in the organization, all non-jews, and they all expressed a similar sentiment for why they're involved: this is part of our history as Egyptians and if we don't take on the responsibility of keeping it no one will. It was so valuable to hear from a local about the situation here. After hangin with Magda for a while we went back into the synagogue for mincha and danced a little bit after. That was the major score of the day. From there we went to the Khan al Khalil suq (marketplace). It's mostly touristy stuff nothing to great, although, there weren't many tourists for it to be so active. On our way there we were approached by a man offering to give us a tour around the best places in the area. We listened to him but ultimately decided we wanted to stick to our plan and get to the Museum of Islamic Art. When we were walking away he followed us, pushing us to take a tour with him. He quickly tried to get Adin and I to turn on Ben making him out to be the villain that wasn't interested. He called him a "coward" and called him out on thinking that the dude was a terrorist - no connection whatsoever to anything that we said. We saw it mostly as a seeious demonstration of how bad the tourist industry has been hit here. There are visible signs everywhere of people desperate for work, and a clear surplus of people who have something to offer to a willing tourist. In the suq we stopped at a restaurant we had heard of for some quick refreshments and got back on the road. While we got to the Museum a half hour before it closed, they told us that it was set to close at 4:30 that day instead of 5. We mostly felt like the guys there were just lazy and yearning to get back to their hookah and coffee which is why they didn't care to let us in. We ended up walking around the city a bit which was nice. We got picked up to head to the nicer area of Cairo: Zamalek, for our dinner reservation at what's rumored one of the nicest restaurants in Cairo - Sequoia. We had a beautiful dinner right in the middle of the Nile in a great atmosphere. We came back to the hotel for a quick break before going out to one of the bars that we reserved a place at. When we got to Pier 88, supposedly one of the best bars in Cairo, even though we had made a reservation it seemed they weren't ready to let three lone dudes in. We argued with them, went around to the other bars in the area, pretended we had a reservation at all of them and still couldn't sit down for a drink. We finally settled on one place that hardly had any people inside but a nice deck with a grand view of the Nile and the city. We sat down to split a beer and chilled for a sec before they told us we had a 200 minimum to fill per person. We threw down 50 for the beer and bounced outta there to get back before an early start the next day. Highs and lows but still an overall sick day.
