Page 04: POKÉDEX 98
Preview  | Code
An about page that is also a Pokédex mini web application, based on the Pokémon Yellow interface design. Why? Because is having a Pokédex in your blog is cool! (。◕‿‿◕。)
Read the customization guide here.
Features:
A full functional Pokédex. You can search any of the current 1000+ existing pokémon.
Set your dream team easily.
Change the language of the Pokédex.
About section.
Tags/Links section.
Extra section that can be used for more information, terms of use, FAQ, etc.
Toggle Light/Dark Mode and customize it, too.
Add background music and switch on/off.
Select between ultra retro or modern sprites for your team.
Responsive on mobile.
More info:
This page retrieves all the pokémon information through the services of the Poke API. The Poke API is a full RESTful API linked to an extensive database detailing everything about the Pokémon main game series. This means this page does not have coded any information of the pokémon, instead every time you search a pokémon the app connects to the API and gets the information back.
Notes:
This is the first version of the page, but in the future I will add more functionalities! Recommendations are always welcome.
The Pokémon nformation is dependant of the Poke API database, so if there is some information missing or wrong the Pokédex page can’t control that.
Make sure you have Javascript enabled on your blog.
Credits on code.
Inspiration came from Pokémon first generation games and also the page was inspired by @nyctothemes beautiful first generations themes! Check them out!
Please reblog/like if using! :3

SMAPI & Modding Guide
🍒Mandatory Mods: these are the ones that make the pretty/gameplay mods work.
Stardew Modding API aka SMAPI: The mod loader for Stardew Valley. Will have it's own pop up window upon launching the game: do not close it, this is how you run modded Stardew. It will also tell you what mods aren't working, what needs an update, etc. Most mandatory, most helpful.
Generic Mod Config Menu: Adds an in-game UI to edit other mods' config options. Will be shown on title screen at the bottom left as a gear icon.
Content Patcher, Alternative Textures, Json Assets, SpaceCore are the most common mods that make the fun mods work. If you're downloading mods, 9/10 times you're gonna need these.
Farm Type Manager, Custom Farm Loader, Fashion Sense, Faux Core, Portaiture, are probably second most used and are for more specific mods (farm layout mods, custom appearance, etc).
🍄Gameplay Mods
Skip Fishing Minigame: Hate fishing? Me too. This skips the fishing minigame and catches fish for you. You will still have to click when you get a Hit, just fishing without the fuss.
Stardew Valley Expanded: A fanmade expansion for ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley. This mod adds 27 new NPCs, 50 locations, 260 character events, 27 fish, reimagined vanilla areas, two farm maps, a reimagined world map reflecting all changes, new music, questlines, objects, crops, festivals, and many miscellaneous additions! (last updated April 8, 2024. also would recommend to second time players due to amount of content)
"I Fixed Him" A Shane Consistency Mod: Makes Shane's post-6-Heart-Event Dialogue and Gift Tastes consistent with his character arc.
🌈Aesthetic Mods: let's beautify this game some more!!
Custom Menu Background
Seasonal Cute Characters & Stanloona's Revised Portraits (not updated to 1.6 but still work)
Ana's Toned Down Sprites
Overgrown Flowery Interface and Overlay
❤I use pretty much all of Gweniaczek's mods, specifically:
>Way Back Pelican Town, Medieval Buildings,
>Gwen's Mailbox, Fishponds, Doghouses, Stable,
>Shipping Bin, Paths, Fences, Craftables, and Tools.
❤Aimon11 makes some good mods too, like:
>More Lively Sewer (+ Krobus content <3), Amanita Lover
>Tidy Cozy Cellar, Distant Lands; Witch Swamp Overhaul
Dynamic Reflections | No Fence Decay: Redux | Destroy Bushes
Cornucopia: More Crops & More Flowers
All Animal Mods: Pets,Farm Animals | Horses | Butterflies
Hats Won't Mess Up Hair & Coii's Hats and Clothes
Fae's Elf Ears or Expressive Elf Ears
(Unofficial) Simple Foliage for 1.6
Firefly Torches or Wisp Torches
Siamece's Furniture Recolors (AT)
DaisyNiko's Earthy Recolor & Tilesheet (if other mods have Earthy Recolor versions I download those too. They will match! Many modders will do this with other recolor mods so have fun with your new game palettes!) (Also DaisyNiko has so many amazing mods, just check out her page!)

My chat with him became too meta 😭 the ai starting talking as itself. I tried to steer it back but I had to speak about Heimdall in the third person like " so what does Heimdall like" and it would reply with something like (rephrasing here) " well there's not much on what he actually likes in Nordic lore or even from the Marvel universe..." Like bruh wtffff 😭😭😭
I had this problem too. You can change it though, if you haven't tried it. He kept role-playing for my character too it was driving me nuts, I would write one prompt and he would respond with a fucking script and finish the entire scene for both of us 🤣 I'm trying to load the site to check but it's not working (wow surprised). So just gonna have to try tell you from memory 🤣😭 I'm sure when you're on the chat you click on api settings at the top. Then scroll down there should be a big text box at the bottom of the page. There you can change the way the ai behaves it has like 5 choices underneath (normal, seggsy. Romantic etc) I had to change it to erotic as open api chose one for me that said that the character would role play for both the character and the user. Things have been better since then. Why is it so complicated 😂
*edit*
Managed to get on to the site to show you. You can select any of the options and the text box above will explain what they do (Pls ignore my smut scene in the background LMAOOO)

Thank you so much! I only really have three main questions at the moment.
How did you code it to where theres a spot for saving/loading previous saves/starting a new game ??
How did you do the profile card?
How do you do the thing where like in the first chapter the player gets to pick whether they're a man, woman,etc? like the cycling through it thing? sorry i dont know how to word things ^^;
Thank you again for letting me ask questions and sorry for the shitty wording of things
starting with 3 because it's the easiest<3
3. that's a cycling link! in sugarcube, it looks like this:
<<cycle "$variable">> <<option "text 1">> <<option "text 2">> <<option "text 3">> <</cycle>>
where "text 1/2/3" is the text of the links that are cycled. if you'd rather the variable was set to something other than the text (for example, a number or true/false), you can just add it after the option. the sugarcube documentation lays it out pretty clearly :)
1. if you mean the 'resume game' button - that's basically an if statement that checks if there is an autosave and loads it if there is.
<<if Save.autosave.ok() and Save.autosave.has()>> [checking for the existence of an autosave] <<button "Resume Game">> <<run Save.autosave.load()>>[upon selection, this button loads the autosave slot] <</button>> <</if>>
if you just mean the general load a save button, it's just a button which loads the save API, which can be done with the run macro:
<<button 'Load Game'>> <<run UI.saves()>> <</button>>
this is the same process for the settings button, which runs UI.settings() instead of UI.saves().
gonna put the explanation of the profile under the cut because it gets a little long!
there are a couple of ways I considered doing the HUD frame - originally (as per this post) it was a background image, with the border bits built into it. this isn't ideal, since it's a big image which takes a while to load, needs a light mode counterpart, and also can act a bit funny with scrolling and scaling - people with their screens set differently to mine (which sort of seems like it's Everyone sometimes) could potentially run into aesthetic jankiness where it's not the right size and the text overlaps the borders, or the scroll isn't seamless.
since i'm nothing if not a control freak, I don't like this. haunted by the idea that someone is perceiving my game in a way i don't want.
so instead of using the background image, I used the border-image setting. there's a couple of issues with this, too: you have to be quite careful with the scaling, as it's very easy to stretch out images; you have to leave space for a much thicker border around the div than you think you'll need; and, especially in this case, you can't set different images for different sides of the div.
i got around this by already having a fairly complicated setup for the way the hud is coded. there are 3 major divs here: the first is the overall #ui-dialog-body.hud div, which contains everything else; then, there's the different sections (directory, profile, achievements), which all have the .section class; then there's the #ui-menu div, with the buttons along the bottom. these divs each have a slightly different image set as their border on one side to create the look of a cohesive frame.
Tumblr media
by doing it like this, i can guarantee that the scrolling and scaling will behave themselves, and it all looks neat and coherent :) the border-image css rule can take a bit of messing with to get it looking right, even if you're just using it on the one div, with the one image - i'd highly recommend playing around with the w3schools tutorial on it and see if you can get something simple working with it before you attempt something more like.. this bullshit.

800 followers, dang!
Well then, I did not know that this would blow up this much. We apparently hit 800 followers recently, and I did not even notice!
Tumblr media
It's been quite a bumpy ride over the years as you all know, but one I am happy to have pulled through. Although there have been next to no updates to the site and it's toolset recently, I have learned a lot on how to deal with many problems.
I've learned how to do image manipulation
How to effectively parse URLs for data (like dragon's and their properties).
Automated fetching new changes to dragons and genes without even having to visit FR itself. Just run a script and commit changes.
Learned how to deploy the website and all it's background jobs without supervision.
Implemented SSL with automatically renewing certificates.
Created a discord bot that is in many servers, mostly to fetch dragon data.
Learned how to minimalist scrape the site for specific data, such as finding new items, checking news posts or fetching user ids based on name to cache so I don't have to fetch the user again in the future
Implemented many local caching methods such that data only has to be retrieved once from FR
Created a pretty expansive user profile system
Attempted to ensure that all site functionality would be available to logged in and not logged in users through means of 'secret keys', basically passwords for that specific feature.
I can probably list many more things but that would be going into a lot of detail. Below the cut I'll write some more stuff, but for those who read this far already:
Thanks for all the support <3
I recently mentioned that my cost for the hosting increases, this is what a normal month looks like for me and starting this period it will be about 10 or so euro more. This is all to keep the service running smoothly, without any downtime, paid out of pocket for you all to enjoy. Any assistance in helping offset these costs are always welcome : )
You can do so either by becoming a patron or just toss me a coffee.
Tumblr media
So what is in store for the site in the future?
Honestly.. probably not much. Eventually functionality will cease to work as Flight Rising makes changes to their front facing API and I won't be able to get the data needed for many things anymore.
Having said that, I have been messing about with the idea of a redesign of the front end, making it a little less developery and more user friendly. But life has been busy for me as of late with a new job since almost a year ago, other hobby projects I have been neglecting and games that have come out that I love to play.. it just doesn't leave much time for a project like FRTools that I have no direct gain from myself other than gathering more programming knowledge.
That said, if you want any specific feature added I can always look into how much work it would be and maybe it will get me hooked?
Regardless, let's get the follower counter to 1000 next before stuff breaks down completely :3

Protect Your Business from Fraud with the Best Identity Verification API
Businesses today face constant threats of fraud and identity theft in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. It is crucial to protect your company and customers from fraudulent activities to maintain trust and credibility. Here, the importance of an authentic and reliable identity verification service comes into play.
A Best Identity Verification API is a powerful tool that helps businesses verify the identities of individuals or entities using various methods such as biometric authentication, document verification, and database checks. With the rise of financial fraud and data breaches, the demand for such services has significantly increased.
Tumblr media
Firstly, an identity verification API helps businesses prevent fraud and financial losses. With the use of advanced technology and algorithms, it can quickly and accurately verify an individual's identity, ensuring that they are who they claim to be. This is particularly crucial for businesses that conduct transactions online, as it protects them from fraudulent activities such as account takeovers and fake identities.
Moreover, utilizing an identity verification API can help businesses comply with regulatory requirements. Many industries, such as finance and healthcare, have strict regulations in place to prevent money laundering and identity theft. By using a trusted and reliable identity verification service, businesses can ensure that they are meeting these requirements and maintaining the integrity of their operations.
One of the key advantages of an Identity Verification Service API is its speed and efficiency. With the use of automation and advanced technology, it can verify identities in a matter of seconds, saving businesses time and resources. This is especially beneficial for companies that handle a high volume of transactions or customer onboarding processes regularly. It not only improves the overall customer experience but also reduces the risk of human error.
In addition to identity verification, some APIs also offer Background Verification API. This can be useful for businesses looking to verify the backgrounds of potential employees or business partners. By using an API, businesses can access a comprehensive database and obtain accurate information about an individual's criminal history, education, employment, and more. This ensures that companies are making informed decisions and protecting their business from potential risks.
With its comprehensive features and industry-leading technology, it is the perfect solution for protecting your business and customers. And the best part? ughhhh
so tumblr's frontend appears to have nice logic to disallow e.g. white-text-on-white-background in blog themes and gracefully increase the contrast
unfortunately, it's not done serverside or when the user sets their theme colors. so the api gives you the raw colors without this process being applied, and that's all we can use for xkit rewritten's themed posts script. this can result in unreadable text.
interestingly, this process doesn't seem to be applied to the blog cards that appear when one mouses over a blog avatar; that's a clear oversight and I'll bug report that.
fixing that wouldn't help with the xkit themed post scenario though. and I can't easily replicate the code tumblr uses; it looks damned complicated when minified.
(to observe this, go to @labs and mouse over the avatar of one of its posts; unlike on the main page where its description is grey, the description is white in the card. yep, I noticed this on an official blog... and spent some extra time checking if it was special behavior for that blog or if it was related to hiding the blog title, just to be sure :D)

Notes from Syncthing usage
I think the only real practical issue I have with just Syncthing in itself is that if I move a file from one synced folder to another, all devices which have both folders still treat that as a delete in the one folder and a new file in the other whose contents need to be gotten over the network.
Syncthing already understands both "renamed" events as provided by f.e. inotify, and closely timed "deleted" and "created" events (in either order) as provided by f.e. Windows' APIs, within a single synced folder.
So most of the logic is already there. I wouldn't even mind if I had to explicitly specify the possible folder associations. For example, in my case:
Files in the "Camera" or "DCIM" folder will usually get moved into the "Pictures" folder. "Camera"/"DCIM" basically serves as an inbox for camera-taken photos; "Pictures" contains an actual organized layout for pictures that are kept long-term (photos or otherwise).
Files in the "Downloads" folder will fairly often get moved into either "Documents" or "Pictures". "Downloads" is also more of an inbox, in principle nothing stays in here - it's either used and deleted or filed elsewhere for long-term reference/reuse/record-keeping.
Anyway so I had a couple hours with a lot of idle time today that I was using to organize a big pile-up of photos. Switching over to one of my other devices, I find that amounted to 10GiB of image data that now had to be synced over the network - all because Syncthing fails to recognize that those images already exist, in a folder it already knows about (or at least existed, until it deleted them as part of that other folder's sync).
If the other devices are online at the same time, this sorta happens in the background and you don't really notice it, but if one of those devices is laptop that went to sleep or something, it ends up being a really significant delay. It can also be a problem on metered/throttled networks.
But since I have predictable patterns for how these files would move, I wouldn't even need Syncthing to do the full n-to-n check across all folders it knows about. I'd just need Syncthing to assume that if it sees a rename or delete out of "Camera", a file with the same hash might appear moments later in "Pictures" (so maybe instead of immediately deleting it, hold onto it for a few seconds, or perhaps rename it to a temporary hidden name immediately and then delete it after a slightly more generous amount of seconds) - and when a file appears in "Pictures", that a file with the same hash might still exist in "Camera".

Note
I relate to the UX anon... and it's not just a mobile problem. I don't have vision problems but it's really hard to read a lot of Twine games on a browser because of their colors or fonts. it's frustrating bc I'd like to enjoy the writing but so many of them are unpleasant to read :(
Yup, that can definitely be a problem...
Funky colour combo and special fonts can be fun, and help convey visually more about the settings/ambiance/vibe... but it can easily strain the eye...
The good news is that it is relatively "easy" to fix. The author would need to check if the text/background colours are contrasted enough (the website provides viable alternative). And SugarCube has also a Setting API to include multiple font options. Plugging my Setting template for easy customisable use.
If you have an issue with the readability of a game, you may want to indicate this to the author (them them what exactly doesn't work and provide an alternative colour/font option, and potentially sites/links to help with that).
But note: not everyone is at the same level of coding/customisation or free time. Even if this is a relatively easy thing to fix (and there are tutorials/plug-ins to make it easiser), not everyone can change their code with a snap of fingers. Be patient ;)

10 Best No-Code App Builders
Tumblr media
In the rapidly growing and ever-evolving technical and innovative landscape, the skill and ability to develop software products like applications have been reserved for those who can code and possess coding skills. But, nowadays it is seen that the ones belonging to a non-technical skill set are also able to create software applications, all this is possible only with the help of no-code app builder tools. This paradigm shift is due to the emergence of a No-code app builder. These platforms help develop personalized applications without just making anyone learn coding skills and know any particular kind of technology. How complex it would be for any business to launch their mobile app, they first have to learn coding skills and technology before, just to develop an app for their use and needs. With the help of the no-code app builders, it has become very easy to transform their ideas into functional digital solutions. In today’s time, the development of software applications is not been limited to any coding expertise which was not only its traditional way but also, could only be made by a person who possesses a strong technical background. The No-code app builder tools help in empowering businesses to conceptualize their ideas.
What makes a no-code app builder good?
The following points are the advantages of why no-code app builders are in demand –
Feature of creating an inclusive environment
Since, with the advantage of No-code app builders, the disparity between individuals with and without coding skills have been alleviated and anyone can create their applications as per their requirements. No code App builder facilitates people to develop their fully functional applications. They democratize app development by providing intuitive interfaces and drag-and-drop tools that anyone can use.
Enhanced Software development life cycle
With the help of No-code platforms, one can create the prototype of their idea and let it conceptualize by creating and developing the application from the same platform itself, streamline the app development process, which further reduces the time it takes to go from ideation to deployment. It provides time utility in gathering feedback and iterating on designs without the need for expertise in coding and technical programming languages.
Budget-Friendly process
Let us consider an individual who wants to build an application for his business organization and to develop such software he has to hire a developer or he shall consult with any service based provider and look for a suitable vendor for developing his application. Imagine how intricate and expensive it would be as he is supposed to pay for the services he shall be taking. Meanwhile, on the other hand, an individual developing his ideas as applications with the no-code application builder tool, how easy and cost effective it would be. No-code tools eliminate the need to hire expensive developers or invest in coding training. However, these apps create cost-effective scenarios for businesses and startups looking for their digital transformation.
Choosing the Right No-code app Builder
User Interface (UI) – Opt for a platform with an intuitive interface, allowing easy navigation and drag-and-drop functionality.
Customization Options – Evaluate the platform’s customization features, including templates, widgets, and design flexibility, to suit your app’s needs.
