The concept that he has no fucking sense of self outside of his persona he's lived with and he doesn't wanna fall apart that badly in the eyes of the only 'friend' he's ever had the person who has known him the longest

I think Leon would be the one to keep in touch, mostly to check up on him. Sometimes Sasha wouldn't answer out of guilt, still boggled how he was forgiven and saved by the man he put a knife to, aimed his gun at. As a result, he gets paid a visit by the man himself, as karma for not answering his calls.

do you have a favorite minor character? minor as in they only appear in like three chapters and will probably never be mentioned again.

mine is Portgas D Rouge because I find her fascinating despite the little we know about her. like how and when did she meet Roger? what was their relationship like? what type of person would the Pirate King fall in love with? what type of person would fall in love with the Pirate King? were they even in love or was Ace an oopsie??

was she a pirate herself at some point? did she ever meet the rest of Roger's crew? did Rayleigh know about her? why did she stay in Baterilla if she knew the Navy was hunting down babies and pregnant women?? did she use Haki to stay pregnant so long? idk is that even possible?

did she know about the Will of D?? she's one of the very few female character that we know of with the D initial. she was the ONLY one for a long time before we knew Vivi was a D.

I just have so many questions about her but I have a sneaking feeling that Oda will never answer any of this.

anyway, is there a minor character that drives you up the wall the way Rouge does to me lol??

VIBRATES. MY TIME HAS COME. okay so if I'm being honest. my top 10 is pretty solid in my mind with a few exceptions, depending on the mood and what i feel like listening to that day the exact order slides around a lot. SO. i'm going to try to make this semi-definitive but not think too hard about it cause after the fact i'm definitely gonna be going "AW MAN BUT THAT SONG COULD'VE GONE HERE..."

1. Had Enough - okay so full disclosure when I started this ask I had this song as number 2, but then I listened to it again and remembered the ethereal experience of hearing it live and UGH I can't deny Had Enough deserves my number one spot. before I heard Ember it had been my favorite for years. It deserves that 1 slot. but it was SO CLOSE to being number 2 to...

2. Down - I LOVE EMBER, I will ALWAYS be a shill for Ember, because Ember got me back into listening to BB. it's really hard to pick an absolute favorite song off this album because Feed The Wolf, Tourniquet, Psycho, and Down could easily make up most of my top 5 on a good day, but there's something about the pre-chorus, the guitar in this song, the way the line "into the sun, we burn" at the end of this song is sung? it's SUCH a powerhouse of a song to me, ESPECIALLY the chorus, OUGH.

3. Breath - I KNOW Breath is one of their popular ones but I cannot deny its SUCH a good song. It gives me blorbo thoughts. it gives me catharsis. the DRUMS. the GUITAR. the SCREAM near the last chorus. the CHORUS ITSELF??? Breath has everything. if I didn't have so much nostalgia for Had Enough it would probably be my favorite off of Phobia. freakin AWESOME live too, there's no experience quite like all the instruments going quiet and hearing the crowd yell "I'm going all the way - [silence] - get away, please".

4. Hollow - OUGH THE GUITAR IN THIS ONE IS EVERYTHING FOR ME. ESPECIALLY IN THE CHORUS. i fuckin LOVE Hollow i cannot put it into words. have you heard the lyrics of that second verse? the growling right before the last chrous? yes yes yes yes yes GIVE ME MORE OF THIIIS. sorry this one is way more incoherent than the others but Hollow just makes me feel like vibrating at mach speeds. also hey fun fact i just learned the other day, that's burnley's son's ultrasound inside the eclipse on the album art. never saw it until someone pointed it out to me

5. Follow - AOUUGH. SPEAKING OF BANGER GUITAR. I really like Follow, it's one I discovered more recently getting back into this band but I absolutely cannot deny how much I adore the intro (and tbh the guitar through it all). also there's something about the lyrics in the pre-chorus the chorus that just itches my brain in a really nice way. maybe it's the way they're structured or smth. idk. its BANGIN
