hi lena!! :DD can i ask do the likes / dislikes of kagepro characters have any particular significance? whats your personal opinions?

this gets really really long and i didnt even talk about any of the fun likes/dislikes for any of the characters im sorry u dont have to read all of this 😭😭😭

HII SEBASTIAN this is such a great question oh my god thank u. okay not for all of them but in some cases yes. i'll start with the ones that DO matter though. shintaro looooves cola it's like his lifeblood, he has this scene where he drinks it with konoha and he says smthn along the lines of "praise be to soda" and konoha's like "erm what." but in this scene shintaro's introduced konoha to cola for the first time and it's basically a turning point in their friendship it's really sweet. it's actually a parallel to when haruka introduced shintaro to cola for the first time ever and that's when their friendship started and augh augh augh it makes me so crazy. momo (shintaro's sister) also really loves soda, except her favorite is red bean soup flavor. uhmm okay next seto LOVES animals and nature in general, this is probably due to his eye ability, since he can communicate with animals and nature is usually far away from cities and such so not a lot of people to accidentally read the mind of. before he had gained his eye ability he had a stray dog named hanako, who he thought understood him as he understood her. hanako is the one he got stuck into the daze with when bullies from his orphanage threw her into a river and he drowned attempting to save her. later on he has a pet hamster named hanao who he talks to and stuff. in general he'll just talk to random birds at times, he's often showed with them actually. he also met marry (someone super important to him) in a forest so that probably contributes to it as well! okay well idk if this counts but i say it does so it does uh the color red for ayano! red has huge significance in kagepro, as it's the color someone's eyes will turn into when their abilities are activated. the mekakushi dan was started by ayano when she put on a red scarf in front of her siblings and exclaimed that red is the color of a hero, and theyre just like secret agents. that's why ayano has her scarf on most of the time if not all of the time! i like to think ayano gained an affinity for the color in general bc she told shintaro he looked good in red (hence why he has his silly little jacket) and it brings a sense of comfort. a neat detail in mekakucity actors is in the last episode after she had been free from the daze, she's shown with an outfit without her scarf, symbolizing how she's not the tragic "heroine" of the story anymore, how she doesnt have to fight alone anymore. makes me emotional. kido really likes music, mainly bc her bio mom loved music as well, i cant remember quite right but she might have been a musician as well? but basically in her younger years before her mom passed away, she was raised to love music. it's quite significant to her design as well, on her hoodie she has like a little mp3 player button on the front. one of her favorite bands is radiohead LMFAO. OH takane and video games! due to her disability growing up she was often isolated since she was so tired all the time and didnt like having to deal with randomly falling asleep in front of her peers, who usually thought of her as weird and stand-offish. so as a way to cope she turned to video games and actually got quite good as she grew up. by highschool she's well known in the gamer world as "flashing dancer ene" and is 2nd in a national tournament for some zombie game i think. in manga route 2, videogames is the main way she bonds with haruka while they are in the hospital together. actually a video game she, haruka, and their teacher made brought the entire yuukei quartet together technically. shintaro and haruka also played online games together basically every night and thts how they got so close. so in my personal opinion those r probably the ones that hold the most significance for certain characters… i would talk abt fun ones but im hitting the word limit sorry SOB

precure au! is chiaki still the leader? :O how does ryuseitai assemble into a unit?

yayay !! hes the leader. his color is still red but . pinkish . yes ik they dont have to be pink but like. pink ... also he is a little different though! mix between his pre-meteor impact and post-meteor impact personalities i think ? hes very loud and stuff but not very confident before he meets kuro

so the way it assembles is like:

chiaki buys kuro (who is in fairy form and looks like a tiger plush) by accident and then kuro explains that he came to the human realm to recruit pretty cure to fight evil. then kuro leaves but drops one of the transformation devices (i dont know what theyre going to be yet but. ... something star themed) later they remeet when a villain attacks to steal people dreams precure-style. and the villain attacks kuro and chiaki snaps himself out of the funk bc he wants to protect him and he becomes a cure :)

tetora meets kuro in human form and he thinks kuro is like THE coolest guy ever so he keeps following kuro around and he keeps meeting chiaki and hes starting to get suspicious abt kuro and chiaki is on the verge of losing it . a villain attacks near his dojo i think and theyre draining dreams including his and kuro snaps him out of it and asks him if he wants to be a pretty cure and tetora is like "!!! YEAH" anyways five minutes later he realizes the job includes wearing a dress and not fighting alongside kuro . sorely disappointed but cannot quit. Nagumo We Are Breaking Your Egg.

shinobu is not recruited by kuro ! chiaki and tetora hear abt rumors of another pretty cure so they sneak out one night and find shinobu and they start interrogating him and then keito is like "i dont know where you came from but can you please leave my ward alone?" and then sees kuro and theyre like "YOU" "YOU" fairy kingdom lore prob drops and tetora helps shinobu gain confidence and Not get drained. also keito shinobu friends yayayay... :)

midori is the last original cure !! he meets chiaki who is reminded of himself when he was younger and starts hanging out with midori who hates it but still goes along w it bc he likes kuro and keitos plush forms .... he isnt affected bc he doesnt really have a 'dream' but he is spiralling over the doom arnd him and stuff and tetoras like "oh! takamines normal at least" "HE IS DEFINITELY WORSE DE GOZARU?" midori becomes a cure thanks to chiaki ... :) yea. also funny thing i dont . have a design for midori i have concepts for everyone else but midori is the only one i dont have anything for . an d yesterday was his bday im so sorry king

kanata is the last cure!! as i said before the villain team is associated with the shinkai cult and kanata is still a god (called 'the mermaid') except . this time for genuine reasons bc he legitimately grants wishes. this is exploited for villain+cult gain. eventually he convinces his guardians to let him go to school under the pretense of finding the pretty cure and he meets chiaki who is very kind to him and they become friends. eventually chiaki finds out abt kanata being the mermaid they had heard about

but how he does become a cure im not exactly sure abt the situation? but whatever happens one he does he leaves behind the source of his mermaid powers and becomes one. after this another person takes the source of power and impersonates kanata for the sake of being a figurehead and becomes a second mermaid

i thinkkkk aomine has to be my fave. i find him the most interesting narratively like hes my everything and he makes me insane how hes So present in the story even before he shows up and his parallels with kagami etc etc that and the second match with seirin where him and kagami are fighting in the Zone is the coolest shit on the planet seriously.

BUT!!!! if we're talking about the shonen anime experience of leaning back and going Yoooo thats soooo fucking cool i think midorima is my fave. so funny and i love him (as a connoisseur of emotionally repressed glasses having guys) and his threes are the coolest like hes so fucking awesome like every time for real

out of seirin teppei is one of my faves hes just like me for real (weirdguy swag) but also obviously i love kagami and kuroko

I THINK BABY POKEMON SHOULD EXIST I think they contribute being really cute... I like that u can like watch them grow up it contributes to the bonding aspect. Which is very very important in Pokemon...

There's a few Pokemon in which I think a baby form makes sense but I'd love to see a baby Elgyem... it doesn't get a lot of love and I really really like it so I think a funny cute little orb or something could get it some attention.

UUH YEA!!! for enstars uuh nazumika but if u have no thoughts err hajitomo? otherwise i want to know abt kidou / momo

AHHH i dont like nazumika all tht much at all. i see it definitely more as a brotherly thing since part of their relationship was mika finally getting a big brother instead of always being the big brother yknow? and i think nazuna's will to be ra*bits big brother came from his own perceived failure in being mika's. so yeah i dont really like nazumika. ahhh hajitomo... i like it but also idk if i can see them being together and it making sense? idk sweet halloween kind of showed that even if it's not in a romantic sense they'll always be there for eachother i guess. i kinda view it as a "they both loved eachother at some point but never really got their feelings across and now theyre comfortable in their current relationship so nothing really needs to change." i guess. KIDOMOMO. i love love love kidomomo... theyre opposites in every way, color scheme, eye abilities, personality, it makes me insane. even their deaths r opposites, kido died in a fire and momo drowned. and despite this their traits never clash and theyre really important to eachother and r able to bring out the best in eachother. kido was the one to invite momo to the mekakushi dan and help her feel less lonely, she reached out when momo needed it the most. there honestly isnt much there in general for them but i think thts bc of jin not really seeing the potential in their relationship and dynamic even without making it romantic and it makes me sad. i love them and their relationship very much it just makes me happy tbh. also this from one of the official learning books

also i was thinking about ur akashi post again and heres my thoughts roughly

ya know the gatsby line abt tom and daisy retreating into their richness or whatever it was that kept them tgt after smashing up people n things and being careless? reminds me somewhat of akashis attitude after Everything. hes a Nice guy w good intent i guess but akashi participates in the smashing of people like aomine and kuroko but after it all he isnt cognisant of it at all. hes aware of going overboard, being consumed by the promises of victory, but ultimately his conclusion of it all is aah i didnt consider our Friendship u know?

of course im curious about what this says abt fujimaki... but im somewhat willing to bet fujimaki kinda just got caught up in the drama and straight up didnt make room for akashi big turn around to include being cognisant of Other Things. anyways just think while it''s a tad annoying in afterthought i think it is an interesting bit of unintentional characterisation that akashi is someone who remains somewhat out of touch with Normal people

dna has a sequel and two spin offs! act 2 is about the first years of act 1 as second years and its so awesome. the two spin offs are daiya no b (brass band, kind of mediocre but funny) and daiya no c (cats, the best spinoff of any anime of all time)

honestly i agree with the idea that fujimaki didnt create enough space in the story to flesh out akashi properly. like i feel like even with the context from middle school we see him almost exclusively from kurokos point of view and thus don't really get how he works until way later and barely? like idk i feel like we get more insight into how orekashi thinks than how akashi thinks like flashbacks aside like Okay thats akashi age 5 tho. like if we got some more space for the turn around after the winter cup hed be more three dimensional tbh. anyway yes i totally agree with the idea of akashi being out of touch with others but i dont really think its an unintentional choice like i feel like the whole genius thing combined with the identity problems would make things weird
