Starz officially confirmed the Outlander prequel series titled Blood of My Blood is in development. The writers’ room has officially opened on the new drama series that will follow the love story of Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser.
Speculation about an Outlander prequel began last summer when Deadline reached out to Starz about the project though they declined to confirm at that time.
Matthew B. Roberts will write Outlander: Blood of My Blood and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. He is also the showrunner and executive producer for the flagship series which is currently in production on Season 7.
Maril Davis will also executive produce the prequel with Ronald D. Moore, who developed Outlander for TV, under their production banner Tall Ship Productions. Story Mining & Supply Company will also EP with Diana Gabaldon, whose novels inspired the franchise, serving as a consulting producer.
Gabaldon revealed in February she’s writing a prequel book about Jamie’s parents.
“Outlander is a riveting show that from season to season has captured the hearts of its fans around the world,” said Kathryn Busby, President, Original Programming at Starz. “We are excited to peel back the layers of this vibrant world to bring our audience the origin of where it all began. Matthew, Maril, and Ronald will continue to bring their excellent vision and creativity to this new iteration, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.”
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be produced by Sony Pictures Television. Executive Vice President of Original Programming, Karen Bailey will oversee the prequel on behalf of Starz.
Remember… she and my father slipped out of the castle right under the noses of 300 clansmen. And my father loved telling that story. — Jamie Fraser, Outlander S01E07 The Wedding

Un director la un spital de vrea sa vopseasca gardul in rosu…
Harvey wrote a beautiful piece for Esquire about coming out and his experience growing up with Mexican cultural expectations. The centerpiece is his mariposa story from childhood, and he ends with this lovely message:
I can speak from personal experience that I always felt like I wasn’t mature enough or informed enough to make the big coming out announcement. There’s no guidebook for something like this. The truth is, the moment it happened—when it happened and how it happened—was the right time. If the truth of who you are was a home, you are allowed to live in it before having to invite everyone in. People are only allowed in this home you’ve built on your own terms, and only when you’re ready to host them. There is no ticking time bomb you should fear; whether you are 12, 25, or 75, the time is right when it’s right for you.
To all those who may feel alone in their journey: I want you to know I see you, I stand beside you in full support, and I love you as you are. The right people always will. Most importantly, I hope you know we need you here and that the world is a better place because you’re in it.
I’ve watched about half of the latest Lovely World episode rn... honestly, it’s a lot to take in, and I still have to catch up on the last... *counts* 9 episodes before this that I haven’t watched... *sigh* I can do this. I’ll do that tomorrow, maybe. I’ve caught up on hundreds of SLW episodes years ago, I can do it again on a smaller scale.
I'd let her beat me up and I'd thank her afterwards <333
