Mastering the Art of Second Half NBA Picks: A Comprehensive Guide to Informed Betting
Introduction
In the ever-evolving landscape of NBA betting, second-half picks have become a strategic focal point for enthusiasts seeking to elevate their gambling experience. While the first half of a basketball game sets the stage, the second half introduces an element of unpredictability and dynamic shifts that savvy bettors can leverage. This article aims to provide a thorough guide on making informed second-half NBA picks, exploring key considerations, statistical analyses, and effective strategies to enhance your success in this exciting realm of sports betting.
Key Considerations for Second Half NBA Picks
Halftime Adjustments: Coaches play a pivotal role in shaping the outcome of an NBA game. Understanding how coaches adjust their strategies during halftime can offer valuable insights into a team's second-half performance. Analyzing past games and the effectiveness of halftime adjustments is a crucial factor in making informed picks.
Player Dynamics: The performance of key players often dictates the flow of the game. Monitoring individual player statistics, injury reports, and the impact of substitutions during the first half can guide your predictions for the second half. A player's presence or absence can significantly influence the team's overall performance.
Momentum Shifts: Basketball is a sport of momentum, and second-half picks should consider which team holds the momentum going into the latter part of the game. Identifying momentum swings, whether positive or negative, can be instrumental in predicting how teams will perform in the second half.
Statistical Trends: In-depth statistical analysis of the first-half performance can uncover trends that may continue or change in the second half. Factors such as shooting percentages, turnovers, and rebounding rates provide valuable insights into a team's strengths and weaknesses.
Strategies for Successful Second Half NBA Picks
Live Betting Expertise: Embracing live betting platforms allows bettors to adapt their picks based on real-time developments during the game. Quick thinking and the ability to analyze in-play situations can be advantageous in making successful second-half picks.
Key Player Impact: Identifying the impact of star players, especially in critical moments of the game, can be a game-changer. Understanding how key players influence the dynamics of the match enables bettors to make more accurate predictions for second-half outcomes.
Halftime Line Movement Analysis: Observing line movements during halftime provides valuable market insights. Rapid changes in odds may indicate breaking news, player adjustments, or other factors that can influence the second-half performance. Analyzing these movements helps bettors make informed picks.
Quarterly Performance Assessment: Some NBA teams exhibit consistent performance patterns in specific quarters. Analyzing team performance in the third and fourth quarters of past games can guide your picks for the second half. Teams that consistently excel or struggle in certain quarters offer valuable information for predictions.
Understanding Scenarios: Evaluating the context of the game, including the score difference and team dynamics, is crucial for making accurate second-half picks. Teams trailing at halftime may adopt more aggressive strategies, while those leading may focus on maintaining their advantage.
Conclusion
Mastering the art of second-half NBA picks requires a combination of strategic thinking, statistical analysis, and an understanding of the dynamic nature of basketball. By considering factors such as halftime adjustments, player dynamics, momentum shifts, and statistical trends, bettors can make more informed picks for the second half of NBA games. Leveraging live betting expertise, recognizing the impact of key players, analyzing halftime line movements, assessing quarterly performance, and understanding game scenarios are essential strategies for success in this exciting and challenging aspect of sports gambling. Yeah Amari is honestly an exception, not the rule. She seems extremely content being the team's cheerleader and there's honestly nothing wrong with that. And I don't really know how to phrase this in a way that doesn't sound a little bad, but I think the exhibition kinda made it clear to me that while I think Amari like basketball, I don't think it's her endgame. The fact that she didn't get until the end of the 2nd half and didn't really get a lot of minutes despite it being a blowout exhibition, I don't think she's really ever gonna become a true player at UConn and idk if she wants to which is fine.
Qadence doesn't give me the same vibes. Like I'm sure it's been and will be exciting playing at UConn and under Geno but she's gonna do what's best for her. And honestly, a different school would be lucky to get her. I think she could thrive in one and if that's what she chooses to do, then good for her. Also, I think she gets along with the team obviously but I don't think she's meshed into them the way that KK and even to an extent Ash has. So while I'm sure she loves the the girls here, I don't see her feeling attached like I think Amari does and that'll make it even easier for her to transfer if she feels like her minutes are not helping her develop as a player.
(Also sorry, I'm fully using your asks as a place to rant atp lol)
You’re okay anon lmao I’m honestly enjoying this I don’t get very many asks lmao
Not everyone who plays college basketball or just sports that have a next level to them want to be at that next level. Not every basketball player wants to make it to the W/NBA and guess what THAT’S OKAY PEOPLE it doesn’t mean you suck it doesn’t mean this or it doesn’t mean that everyone has their reasons and if Amari is okay with cheering on her teammates while they get the exposure and she may get a good ass play every now and then THAT IS OKAY. I’m genuinely tired of seeing slander on her name like clearly if she sucks Geno Auriemma wouldn’t have made her a full scholarship player and if you’ve never played a college basketball game or made it past high school ball or pick up you have absolutely no room to talk about someone’s performance at a D1 school.
And I agree it doesn’t seem like they have meshed as well but at the end of the day we can only hope Qadence does what’s best for her and her career if it’s something she genuinely wants a future in. WNBA doesn’t just sign people bc they’re from UConn they sign the best players and if you get no playing time at UConn how will they know that 🤷🏻‍♀️

The 2023 NBA draft brought a wave of excitement and anticipation as teams made their selections for the future of their franchises. From international sensations to standout college prospects, the draft showcased a diverse pool of talent ready to make an impact in the NBA. Let's delve into the analysis of the top picks, their skills, and the potential they hold for their respective teams. Here's an analysis of the 2023 NBA draft Top 10 picks : 1. San Antonio Spurs - Victor Wembanyama (France, Center) The Spurs made a clear choice by selecting Wembanyama, a highly regarded international talent. Standing at 7 feet 4 inches, Wembanyama brings exceptional athleticism, scoring ability, and defensive skills. The Spurs hope he can revitalize the franchise and continue their tradition of developing international players into stars. 2. Charlotte Hornets - Brandon Miller (Alabama, Guard) Miller adds length and versatility to the Hornets' lineup. He showcased his NBA potential during his lone season with Alabama, displaying scoring ability and range from beyond the arc. Miller's development and consistent shooting will be crucial for his success alongside LaMelo Ball. 3. Portland Trail Blazers - Scoot Henderson (G League Ignite, Guard) Henderson had the potential to be the top overall pick if not for Wembanyama's presence. He brings explosive ball-handling skills and excellent midrange shooting. The Trail Blazers aim to bolster their backcourt and make a push for contention with the addition of Henderson. 4. Houston Rockets - Amen Thompson (Overtime Elite, Guard) Thompson, one half of the Thompson twins, possesses exceptional ball-handling and court vision. His playmaking ability and defensive prowess make him a valuable asset for the Rockets. Development of his midrange and three-point shooting will determine his impact as a dangerous point guard. 5. Detroit Pistons - Ausar Thompson (Overtime Elite, Guard) Ausar Thompson, the other half of the Thompson twins, brings fantastic size and athleticism to the Pistons. He excels in scoring, passing, and rebounding, and was a dominant force in the Overtime Elite league. Thompson's ability to develop a reliable three-point shot will complement the first overall pick, Cade Cunningham. 6. Orlando Magic - Anthony Black (Arkansas, Guard) Black is a skilled point guard with a strong passing game and a knack for finding open teammates. While primarily a pass-first guard, he also possesses a solid shooting touch. Black's durability and strength will be crucial as he aims to make an impact alongside Cole Anthony. 7. Indiana Pacers - Bilal Coulibaly (Metropolitans 92, Forward) Playing alongside Wembanyama in France, Coulibaly impressed scouts with his potential. Coulibaly's 3-and-D capabilities and steady improvement make him an intriguing prospect. The Pacers will look to develop Coulibaly's skills and patience as they anticipate his future contributions. 8. Washington Wizards - Jarace Walker (Houston, Forward) Walker is an imposing defender with a solid frame and a long wingspan. Offensively, he poses matchup problems, utilizing his strength and agility to score effectively. Walker becomes the first top-10 pick from Houston since the selection of Hakeem Olajuwon in 1984. 9. Utah Jazz - Taylor Hendricks (Central Florida, Forward) Hendricks may be an under-the-radar prospect, but his NBA readiness stands out. He displayed dominant scoring ability, rebounding skills, and shot-blocking prowess in college. Hendricks' versatility and ability to guard multiple positions make him an intriguing fit for the Jazz. 10. Dallas Mavericks - Cason Wallace (Kentucky, Guard) Wallace is a strong defender with impressive on-ball skills. He showcased his shooting ability, connecting on 34% of his three-point attempts during his time at Kentucky. And here you can find all the 2023 NBA draft picks :

Thick and Thin | Klay Thompson x reader
summary -> in which, you witness Klay tear his ACL in game 6 of the NBA Finals
warnings -> fluff, anger, angst, cursing? this is bad tbh
word count -> ~1,200
Tumblr media
Y/N gets up at the half to grab a drink. Golden State was down by three and she was getting exponentially more and more nervous. Toronto led the series 3-2 and Y/N knew how important winning this game was for Klay, and the whole team.
After grabbing a drink she goes to sit back at her sideline seat near the Warriors bench. Oracle was thunderous with eagerness, encouragement, and anticipation. Y/N was hoping she’d be able to catch Klay’s eye before the 3rd quarter started. Hopeful it would give him some encouragement and ease his tension a little. He already had 19 points and was playing really well, but Y/N still wanted to help in any way she could because knew how nervous he got during close games.
The Warriors start to file out of the tunnel as halftime begins to wind down. Klay walks out with Steph and Draymond, deep in seemingly important conversation. When they break away from one another, Klay scans the sidelines looking for Y/N. He finds her and both of their eyes light up. He makes his way over to her and extends his hand below his waist, to her. Y/N takes a hold of it.
“You’re doing so well baby.” She brings his hand up to her lips and gently places a kiss on it. Klay relaxes at her touch.
“Thanks, but I can’t help but feel like we’re not doing all we can. I mean we’re better than this team, we should be blowing them out.” Klay being able to get rid of his frustration was an important part of their relationship.
Y/N looks up at her boyfriend and her eyes soften, “Look, you and the guys just need to get out there and play with heart. You are better than them, so all you have to do is play like it.” Klay bends down to kiss Y/N on her forehead, whispers an ‘I love you’, and then retreats to the circle of Warriors forming around their bench and their coach.
Soon enough, 12 minutes are put on the shot clock and the 3rd quarter, and 2nd half, is underway. The first couple of minutes are shaky for Golden State as Steph and Klay miss back to back threes, and Steph gets a personal right after. Y/N was on the edge of her seat and basically biting her nails down to the cuticle.
Klay rushes the ball down and fights his way into the paint off the screen from Draymond. Klay creates some space and pulls up to bring the Warriors within 3 again. Y/N cheers by flailing her arms wildly, almost spilling her drink and the one from the person next to her. Klay glances at Y/N and gives her a fast smile before retreating to defense.
The game goes back and forth for a while, with the Warriors taking the lead eventually when Klay banks a three off an assist from Draymond. Y/N is hyper at this point, a little tipsy, and so happy. The one thing in the world she was not tired of, was watching Klay do what he loves. The tension in the area was now palpable.
In the next play, Lowry loses the ball and Curry steals it and rushes it up the court. Y/N is smiling ear to ear as Klay gets ahead and into the front court before anyone else, with Danny Green trailing. Curry passes the ball to Klay swiftly across the court and Y/N is screaming as Klay catches it and goes up for the dunk.
It all happens so fast before all of Oracle is silent. Y/N stands up so briskly, she doesn’t even realize she’s done it until Bogut is grabbing her arm so she doesn’t storm the court.
When Danny went to block Klay’s dunk, Klay landed awkwardly and was now writhing in pain. Y/N has to look away from the scene after seeing the looks on his face. Curry bounces the basketball in frustration and Y/N could tell it was less about the game and more about his friend. Trainers swarm Klay, he’s grabbing his knee and calf with an obvious look of pain. They pick him up off the ground and walk him to the tunnel. Kerr stands with his hands over his head before scanning the sidelines. He makes eye contact with Y/N before pointing at her to follow Klay and the trainers into the tunnel.
Y/N catches up to Klay who is leaning near a wall and a stretcher, “God what happened?” she asks, more to herself. The moment Y/N and Klay make eye contact in the tunnel, her tears fall.
“ Y/N don’t cry, jeez.” Y/N turns away to wipe her eyes before getting closer.
“I landed weird, I don’t know what happened.” Just then an expensive looking guy in a suit walks from the back of the tunnel, right for Klay and Y/N.
“If you don’t shoot your free throws, you know you can’t return. That’s the rules.”
Y/N turns to the man in the suit, “He’s not shooting them.”
“Don’t do that Y/N.” Klay begins pacing, a slight limp in his step, “Alright I’m going out.”
“Klay come on,” Y/N sighs in frustration, “You don’t even know what’s wrong.”
“No, but if it's something minor and I don’t shoot these, then I can’t come back. This is the finals.” He’s stern, but obviously angry with no one but himself, “Stay here Y/N, I’ll be back.” Klay limps out of the tunnel and Oracle erupts in cheers and applause.
When Klay returned, his limp looked worse than when he walked out. They head to the locker room trainers. The head trainer talks to Klay for a while, asking him if he heard a significant ‘pop’ in his leg. As soon as Klay said ‘yes’, Y/N's heart dropped. The trainer gives Klay ice for his knee and crutches, and then sends him on his way.
Klay and Y/N walk out of the locker room toward the car to head home, avoiding eye contact with all of the reporters waiting for them by the exit, cameras ready and rolling. The game was still going on as Y/N and Klay could hear the roar of the stadium as they walked out of the double doors that led to the team’s parking garage. Y/N walks behind Klay in silence as he crutches towards Y/N's car.
On the drive to their shared apartment, they rode in silence and it was making Y/N nervous. Y/N takes her eyes off the road momentarily to glance at Klay. He was slumped against her seat, staring out the window. He pulls out his phone and looks something up. Y/N isn’t sure what it is, but whatever it was, it makes Klay curse under his breath.
“We fucking lost.” Y/N sighs deeply, upset about everything that transpired in the past 30 minutes.
“I don’t want you to be upset, Klay.” She says keeping her eyes on the road.
“Y/N, of course I’m fucking upset. I’m a basketball player that most likely tore their fucking ACL of-”
“No, that’s not what I meant,” Y/N pulls into the parking garage of their apartment complex. She parks the car and turns to Klay, “I don’t want you to be angry with yourself. This isn't your fault, nor is it something you could have prevented. Of course you can be upset about the situation, it fucking sucks, but we’ll go to the MRI tomorrow, together, and if it's our worst case scenario then we’ll work through it. Together.”
“Y/N,” Klay grabs her hand, closes his eyes, and buries his head, “If I tore my ACL, that’s 6 months I'm out. I'm scared of that.”
“I know baby. I’ll be here through it all, I promise.” Y/N leans over the console of the car and gives Klay a kiss that is so full of love it throws him off. But it doesn’t take him long to return the kiss, with an equal volume of love and appreciation.

Alabama Basketball: How the Tide's Innovation Continues to Roll
Tumblr media
no longer not like its neighbors on the nook lot of Coliseum Boulevard within the Mal M. Moore Athletic complex, Alabama basketball has equivalent decrees to defy as its season soon starts off after sweeping SEC titles, revising checklist books, and losing assertive veterans who led the team in 2020-21 to as short an ascension as the activity's considered. The evident disconnect to Alabama football is that third-12 months educate Nate Oats doesn’t yet have the equity to warrant enthusiasts’ response of ‘however, nonetheless it’s Alabama’ when many in and round college basketball naturally will query where and when Crimson Tide hoops nears its proverbial plateau. however every little thing in basketball can also be quantified, to the decent and dangerous of Alabama skeptics, as as soon as-empirical proof offered via the ‘eye look at various’ has conceded to statistics and analytically-pushed scouting thanks to hoops’ hand-me-down method to growing to be the game via suggestions gathering first by means of the NBA. It’s distinctive now, and Alabama illustrates the activity's evolution in its play with a excessive number of tried three-factor photographs, the sole option to pictures at the rim per analytics, a fast velocity of play, and its have-cake-and-eat-it-too outlook on amount and best being all however together unique in video games won. The volume of shots dictates scoring opportunities just because the pleasant of shot determines the chance of ball stripping nylon. beneath Oats, the Tide is the cat to replica, and nothing illuminates that claim more than a now-growing to be title in faculty basketball it truly is every little thing however for the Alabama teach, the role of a bunch-cruncher and a covert staffer who values the values. Meet Adam Bauman, the Director of Scouting and Analytics for Alabama basketball. he's the assistant unseen, even to accurate-notch cameramen, and his enter to the Tide's innovation, no matter if in recruiting, scouting of opponents, or fashion-spotting outliers in the team's performance via records, is all a part of a job description currently transforming into in popularity. it's simply that his boss spotted the game's path before most else. he is one other pair of eyes as receptive to the role numbers play within the video game as Oats, the excessive school math instructor-became-SEC train of the year. And he's been with him because he turned into at Buffalo, after he served as a supervisor to the Southern Illinois basketball software and spent time as a graduate assistant at diverse stops following commencement from SIU. Bauman enters 12 months three at Alabama, and he is paid his dues of rebuilding the program internally as others have. And he's witnessed its quick growth from year one to yr two under its aggressive chief. Yet, as completed because the Tide became final season, its notion of being offensively-driven is a half-reality. "if you seem to be on the analytics and also you appear at the numbers, the difference was we went from being out of the right a hundred defensively to being in the correct 5 for probably the most part of the season," Bauman said. "after which the 2nd part of the yr we had been suitable-three, so that changed into most likely the biggest change." it be a multi-dissimilar perception to why Alabama generally more desirable defensively from 2019-20 to 2020-21, and here are the numbers: Two years ago, its protective effectivity score changed into ninety nine.5, which ranked 114th nationally. closing season its ranking entire at 87.8, rating third-most fulfilling in school basketball, per KenPom. or not it's personnel, personnel, and, yes, personnel. Oats and Co. ably equalized offenses by way of trotting out longer, greater athletic gamers who were more suitable at smothering ball monitors, shut outs, and other moves that defensively hamstrung the crew the year prior due to less dimension and insurance. subsequently, the Crimson Tide won each the standard season and event championship of its convention, back to the sweet 16 circular of the NCAA event for the first time due to the fact that 2003-04, had an NBA Lottery select for the 2d consecutive season in shelter Joshua Primo, and nonetheless its two-year transition from a first round NIT exit to a trendy ultimate 4 pick amongst event consultants is wondered in that its sustainability invitations accepted reluctance. at the moment, and main as much as early autumn, the instruct-speak cliché of no longer residing on previous performances, negative and otherwise, does not observe to those in the partitions of Coleman Coliseum, the domestic arena of Alabama basketball. Bauman, Oats, and others all binged basketball all offseason to identify talents improvements, previous blunders, and the explanation why the Tide exited within the third circular of the NCAA tournament in its loss to UCLA, a countrywide semifinalist thereafter. though the Bruins weren't a novel focus so much as an usual representation of a barrier to splinter. "We did some deep dives into what went wrong offensively. well, not always what went incorrect, however why we dipped," Bauman talked about. "at the floor stage, simply searching at the stats and where we ranked in definite areas, we acquired our shot blocked a lot and then our turnover cost ended up being pretty bad on the yr." 'Bama ranked 157th within the NCAA with a turnover fee of 18.6 % of its possessions, and in its seven losses it shot forty four p.c on two-element field purpose attempts compared to the season regular of over 50 p.c. element within the Crimson Tide's excessive number of tried three-factor shots—totaling over forty six % of its shots taken, ranking 18th nationally—and you'd determine a lot of these two-factor field goals had been at or close the rim in its losses last season. Bauman attributes its struggles on the rim to either bad reads or indecisiveness, announcing Alabama avid gamers obligatory extra two-footed flora down low to examine the protection, locate an open man, or set up a far better scoring opportunity. in the meantime ... What adjustments had been made, you ask yourself, neatly, the Crimson Tide not directly consulted with one of the vital few consistent contenders of school basketball, Gonzaga, to improve its own software from a distance. See, under educate Mark Few, the Zags are most akin to Alabama upon floor-degree digging, and the one-loss country wide runner-up turned into the only team alongside Oats' crew to each finish with its possessions per forty minutes mark north of seventy three and to conclude within the good 25 of the remaining AP ballot. Gonzaga ranked seventh nationally and Alabama comprehensive eleventh. "There changed into a time when we in reality went via every possession of Gonzaga’s this yr," Bauman talked about. "The largest difference between Gonzaga and us is that they have way greater participant flow. They’re at all times slashing guys, and swing-swing and moving, and that’s how they get more assisted photographs at the rim." “however we’ve also taken some stuff they do and we’ve stated it, about instituting greater player circulation." there is a steadiness, though, given how Alabama likes to operate. In its equipment, if you'd even define it as such with the volume of player freedom it emphasizes, there are less chess items moving at once, but the ones who're moved around the metaphorical board are more consequential to the success of the on-court docket collective. And the Crimson Tide offense cannot stray too far from that. It ties lower back to turnovers, peculiarly in case you accept as true with that Alabama's offense is built on participant reads as opposed to units, performs, or the rest to skew the correct mix of liberal ball move and pressure-then-kick out options. opposite an initiator, the "MIG," the most critical guy away from the ball, as Bauman explained, is who Oats' offense is based on, and his job is to direct protecting traffic to a considerable number of areas of the flooring so Alabama creates its chances and isolates scorers as superior it may devoid of compromising rhythmic timing. but all this makes for a bounce from prep basketball to high-degree SEC play, and prospects who pique the activity of Crimson Tide coaches always share equivalent features. For Oats and his workforce, their recruiting philosophy hasn't modified lots, both. "Positional size is huge, size is huge, athleticism is large, and that they should be in a position to shoot the ball," Bauman spoke of. "if they can shoot it, and that they're lengthy and athletic then we can type of cope with the relaxation." The usual peak of players on the Alabama roster last season was a shade beneath 6-foot-5 at 77.7 inches, and whereas the colloquialism of "big man beats little man" is basically actual in basketball, the video game now champions variables like wingspan and lateral athleticism because it's moved to a extra guard and wing-heavy playstyle with players who're, ideally, able to filling almost every function on the ground. To phrase it in a different way, the sport of faculty basketball may additionally had been in the back of the times of Oats and his personnel considering he became at Buffalo, and everybody is catching on when it comes to roster construction, player development, and enhancements internally. And as imaginative because the Crimson Tide has been on the grounds that Oats' arrival, as well as Bauman and a number of different assistants, the as soon as-clear advantage of zigging to the zag at a mid-important program like Buffalo has diminished. What's left is a body of workers developed by means of the work of Bauman and others who's inclined to well known what should exchange, and due to this fact, might not likely sit still inspite of how many greater trophies accumulate in Coleman Coliseum. "someone's outworking you, somebody's doing something to set themselves aside, and lots of us are aligned in that considering, but it surely all starts with Nate." As for that plateau ... 먹튀검증

Giannis And The Bucks Outlast Nets In A Classic Series
Tumblr media
The 2021 NBA post season has been marred by injuries and covid protocols and precautions. Chris Paul and Kawhi Leonard’s absence from the early part of the Western Conference finals is the absolute worst case scenario.
When you look at it like that, you can definitely see how the NBA needed this Bucks-Nets series and it delivered drama on spades.
The Brooklyn Nets were on the ropes and searching for answers after the Bucks tied the series in game 4. Kyrie Irving’s injury hurt the quality of basketball for sure but it also added to the drama and Durant’s performances kind of showed why NBA fans miss the days of a single all-star caliber player leading a team.
They responded in game 5, a visibly slower James Harden returned to help the Nets get a 114-108 victory.
Stephen A Smith’s prediction proved to be correct when he guaranteed that the Bucks would win game 6 on their own court and the Bucks did winning by a score of 104-89.
Tumblr media
The stage was set then.
Game 7 in the Barclays Arena started out as nervously as it could. There were several times I walked away from my screen in a fit of emotion because it really felt like the refs were trying to screw the Milwaukee Bucks. At one point I was convinced that big market bias was going to sway this series and the NBA were trying to pull a Tim Donaghy.
To add to that Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday were absolutely struggling to make shots in the first half. Brook Lopez and PJ Tucker’s shooting helped the Bucks not get swallowed up completely.
The 2nd quarter was the most nervous for me because the Nets lead the whole quarter and they took their biggest lead in the final 2 minute of the quarter and the Bucks will have felt very lucky to have cut that to a 7 point lead going in to halftime.
Milwaukee’s shooters managed to shoot 41.1% from beyond the arc in this game it proved to be important because Brooklyn only managed 30.8%  but the other facet they killed Brooklyn in, was on the glass. They finished this game with 18 offensive rebounds.
The 3rd quarter was still a close run affair but again the Nets looked like they were closing out the quarter stronger and had it not been for Middleton’s steal on Durant and a Giannis’ dunk to give the Bucks a 1 point lead going in to the 4th.
The 4th was when Milwaukee’s depth finally starter to matter. Khris Middleton made some big time contested jumpers and Jrue Holiday with a pair of pull-up jumpers with under 3 minutes to play. Durant was being Durant though and when the Bucks failed to score with just 5.2 second left in the quarter and up by 109-107, the Nets would in bound the ball to Durant who appeared to have shot the game winner over PJ Tucker. The replay showed Durant had his foot on the line and the made shot was worth just 2 points and not 3.
Tumblr media
Overtime.
The Nets open the scoring after Bruce Brown makes a lay-up.
That was Brooklyn’s only mad bucket in 5 minutes of over time.
Giannis was absolutely Kareem Abdul Jabbar-like when he made a post hook over Kevin Durant. Durant’s attempt at a response was blocked by Brook Lopez.
Then Khris Middleton made a turnaround jumper over Bruce Brown for the lead.
Durant was poised to try again and would have been happy to see Jrue Holiday guarding him on the final possession but he airballed his shot and Milwuakee had knocked out the Brooklyn Nets.
Tumblr media
Kevin Durant may be the media’s pick as far as the player to watch in this series and he may have been. He was big time. Averaging 35.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists for the series. That’s no small feat. You have to remember that the Nets had a 2-0 lead at one point in this series and were still up 2-1 when Kyrie went down.
If you ask me this game and this series was a showcase of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Dude literally faced every type of adversity throughout this series.
Blake Griffin was as smart and as savvy of a Giannis-stopper as they could have asked for. They’ll probably regret not playing Deandre Jordan at all but Blake and the Nets defense tested Giannis throughout.
That crowd count-down in game 7 could have easily turned in to a meme and Giannis is not a guy that get credited with the fabled “clutch gene” but he was 8-14 from the line in game 7.
There was also that 3-pointer he made in the 3rd quarter and he trash talked the Nets on his way back up the court for leaving him open. Was not phased at all by the stage he was on.
All told Giannis averaged 31.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists for the series. He was incredible despite what the media may try to tell you.
His game 7 output was 40 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists on 15-24 shooting from the field. He was every bit the star they needed.

Bad Beats Monday (1&2): WNBA
Tumblr media
I stepped outside my usual realm of games and made some picks for the WNBA matchups. I started off taking the Minnesota Lynx (5-1) over the LA Sparks (3-3). Seeing as how I know no one on the team I was betting numbers to kick things off. I would parlay this pick and take the NY Liberty over the Las Vegas Aces it what would be a solid Sunday matchup. Especially with rookie sensation Sabrina Ionescu (#1 Draft pick via Oregon).
I had previously taken the over when the Aces lost in a comeback victory to my Chicago Sky. This time around I just went with the Liberty ML so my fate is not determined by that Wildcard. Don’t get me wrong, the Liberty were not favorites but fortune favors the brave in this venture. The first half came to a close and the Lynx were down by 10. At this point I was just hoping for a momentum change and a comeback here.
There’s a nice return on the line here, plenty of game left, and it is Good Vibes Only from here on out. Cue the end of the third quarter and the Sparks are up 66-61. Leads attained by the Lynx are short lived, just as hard as they fought to get a point (let alone a point ahead) the Sparks fought twice as hard on defense AND offense. Sure enough as the clock struck 0.00 my pick was murdered by the offense of the Sparks 97-81. This was not the type of game where a lead was blown or an upset victory.
The Sparks did their job as the favorites and held down the Lynx while they were drowning in buckets. I still have the Liberty game, granted there are no stakes in this game anymore but a game to watch nonetheless. After having tasted a bitter loss I made a backup parlay to see about recovering the losses.
Tumblr media
I tried my hand at Underdogs the first time around. So this game I took the Aces (ML) and the Under for the Washington Mystics vs. Indiana Fever.
Sure enough the Aces are down at the half. Fuck me what a Sunday this is was becoming on the gambling front. The Aces were pretty much playing catch up with the Liberty. This goes to show how I go with my gut and it sometimes goes in my favor. The moment I get money involved it’s up in the air.
I’ve had some success with baseball bets but for the NHL and W/NBA I cannot seem to crack yet. Had I done singles instead of a parlay for this game there would have been more of a chance to be cashing in a ticket. But again, fortune favors the brave. Fast forward:
Tumblr media
and I hate this shit so much. 6.9 seconds left in the game and the Aces sink a basket from 18 feet and damn near have me shitting myself...
Tumblr media
In a stunning turn of events...WE ARE SO BACK
This game had me feeling every emotion in what was truly great story telling. A comeback victory in the fourth and the Aces throw me a W for the evening. Now I just need the under for the final game on the lineup.
The last song for the night, WAS-IND. I didn’t really start watching this game until the 2nd half. Also my first instance taking the Under. I’m aware of why Marty Mush and Big Cat from Barstool say life is too short to bet the Under. You find yourself rooting for defense and start sweating when points rack up.
4 fucking minutes left in the 3rd quarter and they only needed 52.5 points to hold off before the Over hit. Each basket sunk made a little ding in my brain and stress was slowly creeping up on me. This is without a doubt the only time I take the Under. Should this have hit it still wouldn’t be enough backing for me to go through this again. In accordance with my earlier writing my bets usually go the opposite because, bad things happen to good people.
Embrace the suck. 2 minutes left and 14.5 points are the numbers to hold off until the clock strikes zero. At this point I’m sweating a mean ring around my hat. Fast forward to 20 seconds left in the fucking game and free throws put me out of my misery. I fucking hate this shit so much.
I only have myself to blame for going against my training. I take the Over it goes Under and vice versa. This is a sick twisted punishment I carry. Before placing the bet I even had a feeling it was possible for the Over to hit. In the end the sun will come up again tomorrow and it’s only money

“The XFL is a thing. Should you care about it?”
Joey
February 2nd, 2020
Another winter, another money mark attempt to figure out winter football.
The NFL has wrapped up another successful season and now it's Vince McMahon's turn to try once more with a brand new football league. In 2019, the son of his friend Dick Ebersole tried with the AAF which fell apart before the season finale could even take place. Vince McMahon seems more prepared than Charlie Ebersole and his backers, especially when you consider that the XFL apparently has long term financial backing place to absorb what figures to be some money losing seasons. The XFL's rule set which features things like a revamped overtime, a double forward pass concept, a continuously running game clock and a variety of different special teams related rules designed to entice an improved pace of play. Is the XFL going to revolutionize the NFL? Probably not. Will it provide some concepts that inevitably get stolen? I'm going with a pretty solid "oh yeah absolutely." It's live sports and chances are if you're reading this you know that the SportsSoundoff is all about live sports and activities that are able to cosplay as sports (axe throwing and chainsaw-ing come to mind).
If you're looking for more football to take in then the XFL figures to give you that and with readily-ish available-ish games across FS1/2, Fox, ABC and ESPN/2 platforms. Long story short, games will be out there for ya if you want to spell some time between the NBA's second half kicking off and the start of baseball and college basketball's tournament run. With a neat and tidy eight teams across a variety of markets, I'd like to go team by team and detail why you should try your hardest to give each team the benefit of your time. Some teams figure to be easy and some teams figure to be impossible BUT I've got free time and I gotta do something, right?
The Dallas Desperados The most intriguing coaching staff in the entire league
Let's start from the obvious; if Bob Stoops truly wanted to, he could be coaching in the NCAA right now. This is a guy who left Oklahoma as an insanely successful well liked legacy coach who won a national title and 10 conference championships. Bob Stoops took Oklahoma football to a level not seen since the Barry Switzer run and is clearly one of the greatest coaching minds of his era. Health and perhaps a general all around malaise for football led to Stoops stepping down but when you look around the number of college teams divided by the number of quality of minds currently available for head coaching jobs, there's zero doubt Stoops could've been the guy at any school he wanted to over the past two years. Hell, I would NOT be surprised if Stoops would've been on the radar of NFL teams if he did an Urban Meyer-esque TV gig as opposed to just falling off the face of the Earth and living life in the shadows. Instead he re-emerges in the XFL as the GM and head coach of the Dallas Desperados. Stoops admittedly took this gig because of its proximity to his recruiting trails of the past and just general all around comfort with the area. Stoops was the prized announcement of the XFL, the first coach they revealed and put in the biggest football media market of the entire XFL league. Long story short? Bob Stoops was a rare coup for the XFL and he's being advertised and promoted as such. So much so in fact that when Stoops stopped appearing in XFL promotional material for a short spell, there were rumors that the XFL was going to lose the only drawing card it had with Stoops maybe making a move all the way up to the NFL for the Cowboys head coaching gig. The fact the XFL has Stoops gives it something the AAF never had; a familiar well liked face who isn't tired or old hat; the two knocks that basically hurt the AAF when Steve Spurrier was limping around on the sidelines for the Orlando Apollos.
The intrigue goes beyond JUST Bob Stoops as the Bob Stoops coaching staff is genuinely pretty ridiculous. If you love the Lincoln Riley and Mike Leach style offenses then you know of the name of Hal Mumme. Mumme is the father of most of the modern air raid offenses you see today, the likes of which that get mediocre-y college coaches like Kliff Kingsbury head coaching gigs in the NFL. Mumme is a bit of a college coaching legend with concepts that have bled into the highest levels of football. Stoops will be the offensive coordinator for Stoops' offense and with a few years away from the coaching circuit, I'm intrigued to see if Mumme has anything new left to offer. Defensively, Chris Woods and Jim Jeffcoat have long ties to Bob Stoops or Hal Mumme. The offense has a mastermind, the defense has a glut of former defensive coordinators and there's a damn good chance that Bob Stoops could turn a solid run in the XFL into a head coaching job elsewhere. Just keep an eye on the Desperados coaching staff as a potential breeding ground for coaches into the next level.
DC Defenders Name defensive talent = ???
It seems like the XFL is going to make it a lot harder for defenses to really play a meaningful part in the games with rules clearly designed to go for more of a high paced scoring first and foremost brand of play. That said, the DC Defenders do have some defensive talent to keep an eye on. They've got a name defensive line with guys like former Giants starter Jay Bromley, USC's Kenny Bigelow, Washington Huskie Elijah Qualls and a linebacking core with Arizona undersized legend Scooby Wright, former Atlanta Falcons player Jonathan Massaquoi and former Bills player and early retiree from football AJ Tarpley. In the secondary is where things really have "could play in the NFL potential" with former draft picks Jalen Myrick and Bradley Sylve and former starters Shamarko Thomas and Matt Elam at the safety spots. Most of the attention will be on former National Championship winner Cardale Jones at the QB spot with name weapons like Malachai Dupree and Rashad Ross but in truth, I'm curious to see if their defensive talents can find their way back into the NFL.
Houston Roughnecks Actual NFL name talent
Soooo yeah, let's take a second to talk about the Houston Roughnecks. There's a WEALTH of NFL level talent on here, if not in actual talent but in name value. We can start at the QB spot where the Roughnecks at the very least boast an interesting "What if?" scenario. Going into the 2016 NFL Draft, a lot of teams needed QBs and the draft boasted some really interesting ones. The top two were pretty much locked in (Carson Wentz and Jared Goff depending upon your preference) and Paxton Lynch seemed like a solid lock as the #3 QB. After that? Free for all! The likes of Cardale Jones, Dak Prescott, Jeff Driskel, Connor Cook, Nat Sudfield and Christian Hackenberg were all fighting for spots to try and eek themselves into that next tier. There was a belief of sorts that Cook was the leader in that clubhouse but concerns about his personality and how teammates viewed him at Michigan State dogged him all the way down to the 4th round. The Cowboys were going to take Cook (who they had as a late 2nd round pick on their draft board) but he got snagged up as the Raiders as a developmental QB behind Derek Carr. The Cowboys, not exactly heartbroken but not exactly thrilled, moved to taking Charles Tapper out of Oklahoma and then with their comp pick (thanks Eagles! Thanks DeMarco Murray!) picked Dak Prescott at the behest of their coaching staff, bucking scouts who had him behind Jeff Driskel. Dak Prescott will likely earn anywhere from 30 to 40 million next year and Cook is trying to carve out his path in the XFL after failed stints in Oakland, Cincinnati and Detroit. It's a fun "What If?" scenario to toss around while Cook can perhaps reset his career in the XFL.
Beyond Connor Cook? Houston boasts a kicker in Sergio Castillo who as an all star in 2019 and boasts an NFL quality leg potentially. Kickers come and go in the NFL and if Castillo is good then he probably has a chance to pop up somewhere. RB De'Angelo Henderson was a 7th round pick who has bounced around the NFL and figures to probably get similar looks as a 3rd round COP back somewhere if he's good in the league. Cam Phillips and Kahlil Lewis are former NFL camp bodies while Sammie Coates played in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers. SS Marqueston Huff played in the NFL for a variety of teams and has a pedigree as a former 4th round pick. DL Kony Ealy, Gabe Wright and Walter Palmore could probably fill out the back end of an NFL defensive line rotation right now. There's some actual NFL talent lurking in these waters, even if most of it is probably training camp filler variety. Those guys still have merit!
LA Wildcats The Josh Johnson Situation
So let's chit chat a spell about this. Josh Johnson is one of those guys that seems to pop up once a year on an NFL roster. He's been in the league since the dying days of the Gruden Era in Tampa Bay, a former fifth round pick who carved out a career as a somewhat competent-ish back up. He bounced around, played in the United Football League (consider THAT one) and seemed set to flame out. When the Redskins brought Josh Johnson in in 2018 after injuries to Alex Smith and Colt McCoy, Johnson stepped into the starting role and actually played pretty well! Not well enough to get brought back but well enough to earn another shot in the NFL as a back up for the Detroit Lions. Johnson was let go and continued his playing days by adding onto the XFL. I think Josh Johnson is the only dude to play in all three short term gimmick leagues (the UFL, AAF and XFL) but that's not where our story ends. Injuries to Jeff Driskel and Matt Stafford opened the door to play the NFL again when the Lions came calling. Surprisingly the XFL refused to follow the AAF's lead and kept Johnson to his XFL deal, forcing him to pass on a Lions opportunity. Josh Johnson basically has to be the best QB in the league to justify the XFL's decision to force him to stay in the league. Otherwise they'll probably be looked at unfavorably by future players for robbing a guy of an NFL opportunity. Also keep an eye on Nelson Spruce to be a big third down guy who racks up 1st downs.
New York Guardians ???
So I've looked over the roster a bunch, taken a gander at the coaching staff and honestly? I mean I don't have anything. This team on paper is pretty boring with no real flashy star name value and a head coach and offensive coordinator in Kevin Gilbride who had his best years some fifteen years ago if not longer. I suppose there may be some interest in seeing former AAF names like Jamar Summers and Luis Perez do stuff? This team is boring but boring teams can win games and boring games can win championships. Just don't expect the Guardians on paper to be something you'll feel compelled to go out of your way to see. In a way the Guardians match up pretty well with Vince McMahon's current WWE product; a severe lack of storylines and star power that compel and force you to go out of your way to tune in on a weekly basis.
St. Louis Battlehawks Football is BACK in St. Louis!
The Rams left St. Louis for LA in 2016 and to be entirely honest, I'm not sure if it worked out any well for the NFL. Surely the Rams bring in more money and notoriety in theory but it sure feels like the Rams have not exactly caught on with the locals in LA who are clearly baseball fans during the summer/fall and basketball fans every other time else. The Rams boast a tremendous team and watching a city like Kansas City enjoying its first Super Bowl win (in the great state of Missouri or Kansas or Kansourri) has me wondering how much more fun the NFL would be if the Greatest Show On Turf stayed in St. Louis as opposed to venturing out west and had kept up the tradition of having two teams playing in a rather "small" market. The fans of St. Louis will get to show how much they support football when the Battlehawks take flight (Ugh) in a few days. The Battlehawks have an intriguing roster with plenty of Mizzou names on it like WRs L'Damian Washington and former TE turned WR Markus Lucas. They also have swagmaster Marquette King trying to rebuild his NFL case after his falling out in Oakland. To add to the madness, the Battlehawks boast the most QBs on any of the 52 man rosters in the XFL and are led by Ole Miss QB legend Jordan Ta'amu who is coming off a failed stint in the NFL. I still really like Ta'amu and think he's got developmental upside for what it's worth but that's neither here nor there.
Seattle Dragons Holy shit Jim Zorn is still around?
The Redskins have a rather....interesting history in the modern era. Outside of a few brief periods of success from the likes of Joe Gibbs and Mike Shanahan, the Redskins head coaching history is rather no bueno. Among those bodies lost to the annals of history you have Jim Zorn. Zorn was a bit of a QB whisperer for the likes of Mike Holmgren and Dennis Erickson before surprising folks by making a massive leap from QB coach to head coach for the Washington Redskins in a stunning move. Zorn's move went...about as well as you'd expect. Jim Zorn became the latest victim of Redskins incompetence and then sort of just disappeared. He coached QBs for a bit after getting fired and then became the NFL equivalent of a ghost. Well Jim Zorn's back and back in Seattle where he led Matt Hasselbeck to some insane-o Seahawks records. The Dragons roster overall isn't exactly must see as it's mostly AAF leftovers with the occasional 2019 UDFA but at the very least seeing if Jim Zorn can wash off the Redskins stench some 10+ years later might be a bit of fun.
Tampa Bay Vipers A Florida all star team
The Vipers have the world's most name recognizable pseudo all star squad in the entire XFL. With former Bears head coach Marc Trestman at the helm, the Vipers boast a wide array of talents from various schools in the state of Florida. Miami Hurricanes WR Stacy Coley, Florida OL Martez Ivey and TE DeAndre Goolsby, South Florida QB legend Quinton Flowers will be trying his hand at RB as well as FSU RB Jacques Patrick and DB DeMarcus McFadden. That doesn't even begin to cover the number of Central Florida, South Florida and FAU players on this team as well. Also Aaron Murray is here and it seems like people are still going to try and make him into a thing after being a 4th round pick back in 2015.

View NFL Week 6 Game Online
Street Talk - The latest street talk and Baltimore Ravens related News from the Russell Street Report Group. Its eerie how similar these 2 teams are through 5 weeks of the season. Both groups are 3-2 overall, both are 2-0 in the house, and 1-2 on the roadway, and both are 3-2 against the spread. They have actually also divided the last 10 video games played (5-5). The Titans enter this game winners of 12 of their last 14 games at Nissan Stadium, and likewise 4-0 ATS as home underdogs. The Ravens are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five video games in Music City, and 2-5-1 ATS versus the Titans in their last 8 total. As for the game, I have said that I believe Baltimore wins this one. I simply see it as a blow out. There's a great deal of bad blood between these two companies throughout the years, with an obvious purposeful injury to Chris Johnson in their last playoff meeting, some outright missed out on calls, and so on. I expect an all out war in the trenches. I simply hope nobody gets hurt this time. Baltimore entered their season finest second quarter in this video game with 3 goal passes from brand-new beginning quarterback Trent Dilfer that had the Ravens up by 24 unanswered points. Cincinnati answered with a goal, and their only score, during the third quarter with Peter Warrick's 4-yard rush. The game came to a close following a field goal from Stover that had the Ravens beat the Bengals 27-7. The Ravens enhanced their record to 6-4 and began a seven-game winning streak. In an attempt to redeem their road lost to the Dolphins, the Ravens faced division competitors Cincinnati Bengals In a total locked out, the Ravens gained a near 400 yards (391 lawns exact) in a game where the defense closed down the Bengals for just 94 yards of offense. During the very first half, the Ravens scored 3 goals (two passes from Tony Banks to Travis Taylor and Shannon Sharpe, and a rush by Jamal Lewis) and a basket by Matt Stover. The 2nd half ended with two more field goals and a rushing goal from Obafemi Ayanbadejo to complete with a rating of 37-0. With this win, Baltimore's record elevated to 3-1.

He is also really educated in the NHL, the NBA, college basketball and MLB. If you desire consistency, then make sure and check out Chris' content everyday. In the 3rd quarter, the Steelers would react to Baltimore's rating with Reed nailing a 46-yard basket. The Ravens would sneak better as McGahee hurried for a 1-yard goal. Nevertheless, in the 4th quarter, Pittsburgh retreated as safety Troy Polamalu returned an interception 40 lawns for a touchdown. Baltimore attempted to install a comeback, but the Steelers' defense was excessive to overcome. Most teams that check out Gillette Stadium are overwhelmed by the mystique of this building. The couple of that aren't come here with an abundance of self-confidence and typically leave with a victory (believe the 2009 Ravens and '10 Jets). This Titans team might be next in line. Tennessee has a great running back, 2 extraordinary pass receivers, and a three-headed tight end monster on offense. The Titans likewise have a training personnel very knowledgeable about the Patriots (H.C. Mike Vrabel, D.C. Dean Pees). I definitely will not be surprised if New England comes out on top in this game, but I think Tennessee has what it requires to advance. The Ravens are riding an NFL-best 12-game winning streak. However they're coming off a bye and 6 Pro Bowlers, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, remained the regular-season finale. Rust will be a talking point thinking about essential gamers have not dressed considering that Dec. 22. On the other hand, if running back Mark Ingram II goes back to complete speed this week, the Ravens ought to have all 53 players at practice. That level of health entering the playoffs is really important. Middle linebacker Ray Lewis was named NFL Defensive Gamer of the Year by the Associated Press 5 players represented the Ravens in the Pro Bowl: Lewis joined defensive take on Sam Adams, security Rod Woodson, offending tackle Jonathan Ogden, and kicker Matt Stover Matt Stover joined Lewis and Ogden on the associated press' All-Pro first team. Protective end Rob Burnett signed up with Adams and Woodson on the AP All-Pro second team.

Well Played (basketball player au! NCT Johnny)
Tumblr media
Genre: basketball player! au fluff
Member(s): Johnny ft. the rest of NCT as his basketball team
WC: 3.5k
Warnings: swearing
Description: In which you are a yearbook photographer in denial and 600% done with the basketball captain’s antics.
masterlist | requests | updates
_______________________________________________________________________
(A/N: I always wondered what it’d be like to go to American highschool with Johnny so here’s a hot basketball captain Johnny for you thirsty hoes)
You sighed as you look at the yearbook spread you helped edit.
It was of the annual Fall Festival the Key Club put out, and there were many pictures filled with autumn amusement and merriment and it turned out fucking great but your unusually strict yearbook advisor demanded a complete redo of the pages. Apparently, it wasn’t “festive” enough, whatever the hell that meant. Because none of the yearbook staff actually do what they’re supposed to do, it looks like it’s Y/N to the rescue (for 28723847th time)!! Even though it wasn’t your job!!!
You quickly got back on a desktop in a quest to somehow make people picking pumpkins more “festive” when you suddenly heard a yell from the office.
“Y/N! Tonight is the Semi-Final State Basketball Championship and you have to shoot it at Deerfield!”
You made a sour face then walked over to your advisor’s, Mrs. Weather’s, office.
“Do I at least get free tickets?”
“No, but you have a yearbook pass which is just as good!”
“Ugh,” you murmured quietly as you went back to the desktop.
“C’mon, they chase away any photographer that isn’t you! The boys love you, especially that captain boy… what was his name again? Jake? Justin?”
“Johnny, Mrs. Weathers.”
“See! You even remember his name! Maybe his feelings are reciprocated, hm?”
“Mrs. Weathers,” you whined. We’re not all forgetful like you, you passive-aggressive old bat!
“If I were 40 years younger…” she chuckled.
Oh ewww. Like, double ewwww.
Glenbrook North’s Boys Basketball Team (the Spartans) is Chicago’s #1 basketball team in the city and state, winning both championships for the past 3 years. They’re even more funded than the football team, which basically never happens in American high school. They’re great and all but their captain…
Johnny Seo. A 6’1 senior sometimes called “Yao Ming Ming” for being Asian, tall, and really good at basketball. He was a rich kid, and incredibly popular for being funny and relatable. A lot of girls somehow found him and to be one of the hottest guys in school. And unfortunately, he was the son of your parents’ good friends.
You didn’t like taking pictures of the basketball team. Sure, some of the members like Mark or Sicheng were sweet and too pure for this world, but some members like Yuta and Johnny annoyed the hell out of you. It’s not as if like Johnny, or anything like that. You were always stuck with them because they always played tricks on other photographers so you were sent out in their stead.
The bell rang and you quickly packed up your stuff and saved your progress then walked out of the computer lab. You had a Socratic seminar in AP Lang next, and you had to be early so you could sit at the front. Normally, you would be in the middle, but your teacher had threatened to take points off of people not actively participating, and this bitch ain’t losing her GPA. You strode quickly through the crowded hallways.
“Hey! Y/N!!”
Your quick stride faltered as you froze at the voice. You turned around slowly to see Johnny in a Chicago Bulls windbreaker with some black skinny jeans and Vans. He had an easy gait as people parted for him like the goddamn red sea, his backpack casually slung over one of his broad shoulders.
“Yo broski,” he greeted as he caught up to you.
Sigh. “Hi, Johnny.”
“Can you at least sound excited to see me? I mean, we’ve known each other since we were 4.” Johnny huffed as he slung an arm around your shoulder.
You rolled your eyes.
“Exactly.”
“Oof, right in the gut!” Johnny dramatically pretended to bend over his injured gut as you walked.
“I’d give you real pain if it weren’t for your game,” you snarked.
“Aww worried about me? I’m flattered! Anyway, you know about the game? I thought you didn’t like sports.”
“I don’t. Mrs. Weathers ordered me to shoot the game for your inevitable state championship 4-page spread.”
“That passive-aggressive old-bat?”
“You got that right,” you barked out a laugh.
You turned towards him and looked up at his totally not handsome face. His cheekbones are totally not my aesthetic. Nope, that piece of brown hair flopping over his eye is not attractive. Noppity nope nope nope.
“Hey did your parents confirm that they’re going to dinner at Morton’s?” you asked as you turned left into the Lit hallway.
“Oh yeah, I think they did this morning.”
“Are you sure you can make it after your game?”
“When you’re involved? Totally, babe.” Johnny winked causing you to blush.
“Shut up-” you slapped him on his totally not hard biceps- “No, but really? I don’t want to be the only teen there to be interrogated about my life.”
“Yeah, I’ll be there. Hey, if you want a ride there you can just ride with me and I’ll stop at your house so you can get ready.” Johnny offered as you slowed down, seeing the entrance to your classroom in a few minutes.
“Oh, thanks! I’ll see you later Johnny.”
He smiled as you turned towards your classroom. The warning bell sounded, so he increased his pace to his AP Calc class which was 2 hallways down. He plopped down at his desk that was uncomfortably small for him next to Taeyong.
“Bro why are you so late?”
“Um, I just had to do… something,” Johnny fibbed.
“Liar,” Doyoung interjected from the back.
“He walked y/n to class in the Lit hallway,” Doyoung laughed as he spun his mechanical pencil around.
“The fuck bro? Are you stalking me?” Johnny leaned away from the dude who’s face looked like a rabbit and happened to be his point guard.
“Nah, I just saw you walking down the hallway with her.”
“He’s not the one doing the stalking here, Johnny, you are,” Taeyong said and Doyoung cackled and offered a high five.
“Like seriously Johnny boy, can you make your crush on her any less apparent than the past 4 years?” Doyoung wondered as Johnny was digging around for his graphing calculator.
“He’s whipped.” Taeyong laughed as he downed some water from his bottle.
“Shut up or I’ll bench you for the 2nd quarter.” Johnny threw an eraser at Taeyong who merely smiled innocently and opened his textbook.
_______________________________________________________________________
“Oh fuck!” you cursed as you looked through your bag while sitting in your Mom’s car. She was pulling into the roundabout of Deerfield High school where your school was playing against their hometeam.
“Language! Anyway, what’s wrong sweetie?”
You sighed as you turned to face her.
“I forgot my yearbook pass at school to get into the game.”
“Oh no! Well, that’s a problem. Hm… why don’t you ask Johnny to let you into the game? It’s his team playing after all.”
“That’s not how it works mom.”
“Don’t take that tone with me, young lady!”
“Sorry.”
Your mom put her hands on the driver's wheel in thought. “Ok, $10 dollars isn’t that bad.”
“Mmm-” not when you’re a brokeass teen “-kay, bye mom!”
“I love you! Make sure you go to Morton’s immediately after- wait, hold on, how are you getting there?”
“Johnny’s driving me,” you murmured absent-mindedly as you collected your camera equipment from the back seat.
As busy as you were, you didn’t see the secretive smile that crept up your mother’s face.
_______________________________________________________________________
“Aight team, warm-up on the court in five! Get your asses out there!” Johnny shouted at the locker room full of boys. They all murmured in consent as they quickly put on their notorious dark green and silver track pants and jacket for the warm-up. They all filed out of the locker room to the arena where the stands were already bursting with people.
A roar rose up when crowd favorite entered. Even though they were at an away game, more than half of the crowd were Spartan fans. Even some people who attended Deerfield liked the Spartans better, because a lot of them were supposedly attractive and skilled when they played. All you saw was a goddamn headache.
As per their pregame ritual, someone grabbed one ball and they all stood in a line. The first person bounced the basketball on the headboard, which bounced back and into the hands of the second person, who did the same thing and so on. From the sidelines next to the coach you took some pictures of the boys standing in line. Some of them caught sight of you and waved hi, while others pulled funny faces which made you giggle. You checked the screen of your camera to check the lighting. In a few minutes, the whole team dispersed to do their own thing and took advantage of the cart of basketballs available.
“Y/n!”
You looked up and some hair went in your face. You huffed the rebellious stand of your face.
“Hey, Johnny!”
He jogged over to your position right under the headboard, his usually defiant brown hair contained in a headband just imagine Johnny at the NBA photoshoot
“Um, at the end of the game, just meet me near the entrance. I promise I’ll be there quickly.” He smiled sheepishly at you as he scratched the back of his head.
“Yeah, sure.”
Your eyes suddenly narrowed as you pushed a finger to his chest.
“I had to spend 10 whole dollars to get into your game. 10. Whole. Dollars. Money I could’ve spent on fried chicken or food or whatever.”
“What happened to your yearbook pass?”
“I fucking forgot it at school,” you pouted, secretly embarrassed.
She looks fucking adorable, fuck. Johnny thought as he laughed, his normally booming laughter drowned out by the crowd.
“The only reason I was allowed onto the court was that your coach recognized me!” you lamented, shifting your weight on one foot. You had to crane your neck to look up to him because he was a good 1 and a half heads taller than you.
“Captain! Stop flirting with y/n and get on the court!” Johnny’s vice-captain, Kun, yelled out as he sunk a shot from the 3 point line.
“Fucking hell- I’ll see you later.”
“Sure,” You smiled at him.
As the toss-up began and the game progressed, you moved quickly over the court to take some epic action shots. You could use this for your portfolio for art club, so you were really focused on taking good quality photos.
When the players switched offense to defense or vice versa and ran across the court, they made weird faces at you. Taeyong stuck his tongue at you, Doyoung creep-smiled complete with a double chin, and many more antics that made you lament over the wasted pictures.
When a picture of Lucas completing a lay-up with a meme expression on his tanned face popped up on your viewfinder, you sighed. When you saw Johnny, you were going to make some sort of complaint because you could not use a shot of Mark dabbing on your yearbook spread, and certainly not in your art portfolio.
You came across a shot of Johnny setting up a screen. He certainly did not look hot. No, he was not attractive when sweat dripped down his face and body and made his muscles stand out mo- Fuck this, ugh.
The game ended and as usual, the Spartans beat the Deerfield warriors by a large margin, 100 to 76. You packed up your equipment into your bag and left the court as soon as the crowd left the arena and waited near the entrance, the cold autumn air permeating through your lined denim jacket.
Johnny exited the school, some of his team laughing with him with their arms slung around his shoulders.
“Johnny!” you called out when you saw him in his tracksuit.
The little group’s attention turned toward you as his face turned red in the dim lights. Yuta grinned and said something in Johnny’s ear that made Johnny slap him upside the head, Yuta still grinning the whole time.
Johnny walked over to you and you both walked to his mustang that his dad bought for him the previous year for winning the state championship. He opened your door for you and you both sped off into the streets of suburbia.
_______________________________________________________________________
When you both were led by the maitre’d to the private, reserved table and no one was there, you both groaned. Earlier, he had stopped at your house and you both got ready (he brought his clothes with him). You put on a nice white lace sundress with some nude heels complimented with light makeup. Johnny, on the other hand, wore a white oxford shirt with an unbuttoned, navy blazer. paired with khaki slacks underneath and some smart leather shoes. Nope, not hot at all. He didn’t look like a snack. y'all probably looked like some rich suburban couple lol
“Oh my god. My parents had like 4 hours to get ready and they’re still not ready? Ugh,” you curse.d.
“Rip. Well, we’ll just have to wait for them”
He pulled out your chair for you WHAT A GENTLEMAN and you both sat down to look over the menu. After you ordered water with lemon and he ordered Sprite, you two struck up easy conversation.
It was when he recounted the time when his underclassman friends, Jeno and Jaemin, got detention for duct-taping someone’s phone to the ceiling, he cracked up. You looked at his laughing face and blushed.
Honestly, you really didn’t know your feelings for Johnny. Yeah, he was annoying and kind of a smartass most of the time, but he was funny and always seemed to care about you. Not to mention you’ve known him since forever; your families always went on did stuff together so you kind of were forced to interact. You always saw him as Mr. and Mrs. Seo’s son who played piano really well but in freshman year it kind of all just… changed. He quickly became popular. Johnny shot up until he was a fucking tree and his facial features became more defined and chiseled, so whenever you saw him, whether it was at a restaurant or a gala or a game, your heart beat out of your chest.
You stirred your straw around in your drink and sighed. Your friends always had sworn up and down he had a crush on you, but you never believed them. Why would he like you, the girl that he’s known since she was in her awkward braces phase, the girl that always seemed annoyed by him, when he could probably hook up with anyone in the grade?
“Y/n! Johnny! We’re so sorry we’re late, but traffic was just so bad downtown!”
Mr. and Mrs. Seo walked towards your table with your parents in tow.
It was not like you were 30 minutes late and forced me to stay with Mr. my-hair-flops-a-lot-and-covers-my-eye-and-makes-me-look-really-attractive.
They all sat down and when you engaged in conversation with Mr. Seo about your photography competition, you didn’t notice the triplet of smirks passed around by your parents and Mrs. Seo when Johnny stared at you over the rim of his drink, an adoring look in his eye.
_______________________________________________________________________
“Y/n, you know what tonight is?” Mrs. Weathers voice warbled from the office.
“Yes, today is the Boys Basketball State championship,” you sighed.
How could you forget? With your dads’ passion for basketball, yours and Johnny’s parents were attending the state game tonight.
“Well, you know what you have to do!”
“Yes, Mrs. Weathers.”
Hopefully they didn’t joke around this time. It was the State Championship game, for god’s sake.
_______________________________________________________________________
Sike. They did. From pre-game warm-ups to the time they had scored their winning baskets, they had some really fucking weird faces in store for you.
Of course, the Spartans of Glenbrook North’s Boys Basketball team crushed their opposing team. I mean, you didn’t particularly have a lot of school pride, but you still felt something warm in your chest when you saw them hugging each other as the final buzzer rang out and the crowd went wild. Not to mention it was kinda funny watching the normally “manly man” team lowkey crying.
You were waiting for your friend to pick you up to attend Jaehyun’s post-game party at his ginormous house when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
It was the man of the hour, Johnny Seo.
“Oh hey, Johnny! Congrats man, I’m so proud of you!” You smiled as you pulled the man behind you into a hug.
“Thanks, y/n.”
You looked up at his face which was kind of… tense?
“I can’t believe your team put up with you for all these years. If I were Sicheng I would’ve skrt skrted the day you joined as center.”
His unusually tense facade broke for a minute as he flicked you in the forehead.
“Shut up!”
You both laughed and fell silent, hearing the loud chatterings of excited people near you. His face quickly grew tense again.
“Y/n… I… uh… this is going to sound weird, okay?”
“Well you were always weird in the first place, so no surprises there.”
He smiled slightly and took your hands in his. His calloused hands felt rough, but soothing at the same time. You blushed from the contact and looked down for a moment.
“So… I’ve kind of liked you for the past 4 years, y/n. And probably more than that.”
Your head snapped up quickly in shock. Johnny? Johnny Seo? Seo Youngho? Likes me? Plain old me? What the fuck.
“Um, I know it’s alright if you don’t share my feelings but I figured since it was the last game of my high school career, I’d thought I just get this off my chest-”
“Johnny, I like you too.” You smiled at him, and slight blush still adorning your cheeks.
His eyes widened and his mouth dropped open.
“Holy shit. Fuck. I did not expect this to happen, I thought you were going to reject me since you’ve always been annoyed with me, god-”
“Johnny I’ve always been annoyed with you because, well, I’ve liked you since freshman year too.” Your arms snaked around his corded neck and played with his slightly damp hair from his shower. You couldn’t even describe your feelings right now. You felt like you were high, and every nerve in your body tingled. Holy pigs on a stick Johnny likes meeeeee!
Johnny smirked as he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close to his body, against the dim lights of the school lamps. The harsh light defined his features even more (if that was even possible), and made his eyes sparkle.
“Well, damn,” he whispered as he swooped down to capture your lips in his.
Yeah, there were no fireworks but there was definitely heat. The heat in his gaze you saw when he played on the court, the heat in his gaze when he played a particularly difficult run on the piano you could feel all around you when you closed your eyes and kissed him. Those longing looks you always sent towards each other and the shy brushes of your touches felt absolved as you kissed each other for quite some time.
“DAYUM JOHNNY BE GETTING SOME!!!”
Your make-out session was broken when both of your heads snapped in the direction of the noise. Johnny’s whole basketball team stood cheering in the parking lot, with a lot of girls giggling next to them.
“FUCKING FINALLY,” shouted Sicheng.
“JOHNNY GREW SOME BALLS!” Mark laughed as the whole team went wild over their captain, who they had known to crush on you for a long time and had to deal with his whole she-doesn’t-like-me-and-never-will deal.
“MARK!” Johnny shouted as his grip on you tightened.
You laughed and settled his head in his broad chest.
_______________________________________________________________________
The whole school basically rioted when they found out the next day. A bunch of people was congratulating you guys in the hallways because of his popularity, and he walked you to class and y’all held hands. His teammates kept on sending you guys sly glances throughout the whole day. Hell, even your teachers (including Mrs. Weathers) congratulated you. However, they weren’t as bad as your parents.
Your parents, when they found out, as you told them while holding hands, cried. They congratulated you like you had announced you were going to get married. Mr. Seo and your dad patted Johnny on the back and jokingly threatened to kill him if he hurt you, while Mrs. Seo and your mom hugged you tightly and cried into your shoulder.
“Oh, my sweet baby, I have been waiting for this for years!” your mum wiped a tear from her eyes.
Hold on… years? The pieces of the puzzle quickly clicked together in your mind and you gasped.
“Wait… were you deliberately late to the restaurant after the semi-final game?!”
_______________________________________________________________________
Later, when you were in Johnny’s arms and watching a movie you slapped him in the chest.
“Ow! Babe, what was that for!” Johnny laughed as he snuggled his face into the crook of your neck.
“I told you earlier I wanted game faces, not meme faces!”

NBA Thoughts - Pelicans Focus
Reasons why the New Orleans pelicans will be the most exciting team to watch in the history of the league.
1. The back-court duo of Lonzo and Jrue. They will be the best defending back-court in the league. Lonzo is sensational in transition, and will pick up full court in situations and get easy steals. Lonzo has had troubles finishing at the hoop in the early part of his career and was about as bad as Justice Winslow was. However, Rondo started helping Lonzo work on his finishing and you could tell a noticeable difference in Lonzo’s finishing, instead of miss after miss. Jrue had a career year last year in 67 games averaging 21.2 pts, 7.7 ast, 5 reb and shooting 47.2% from the floor. Jrue will be a great copilot next to Zo.
2. Zion Williamson - nothing really needs to be said here as he is one of the most exciting players basketball fans have ever seen. The way he can move at the size he possesses has never been seen before. He is coming in to the NBA as the 2nd heaviest player only to the newest assassin in John Wick, Boban Marjanovic. The only worry people have with Zion is his outside shooting and potential injury risk with moving such a large amount of weight and playing the way he does.
3. Brandon Ingram and his crazy length. Brandon Ingram has been continually getting better on the defensive side of the ball since he entered the league and last season he was off the charts on defense. The Lakers as a team were very bad on defense but individually Ingram and Lonzo were superb defenders. BI started showing signs of becoming an explosive scorer the last month and a half before his season was ended with blood clots. If he can pick up from where he left off, the Pelicans should be in very good shape.
4. Youth and Pace - This team has athletes all over it, especially with adding Jaxson Hayes at the center position. They will be so explosive and the youth on the team will allow them to just run run run. The potential is off the charts with this team and they have a good chance of making the playoffs in a crowded western conference next year as long as they stay healthy. The bench is also going to be very young, which will help with the pace of play as well. One question I have is how slow footed Jahlil Okafor will fit into this team. I have seen the reports saying he has been working very hard this off-season, but everyone is working hard in the off-season, except Dion Waiters and Raymond Felton who are working hard in the buffet.
Let me know what questions you have or if you want me to elaborate more on anything to do with the Pelicans or the whole NBA.

Steph Curry astounded the NBA world by scoring 33 points in 22 minutes to help the Warriors pull off a devastating, series-ending win over the Rockets, Defence Online
The Golden State Warriors conquer the Houston Rockets in Sport 6 on Friday to progress in the playoffs.
Stephen Curry was the hero, as he scored 33 details in the next 50 %, like some clutch photographs, after heading scoreless in the very first fifty percent.
The NBA environment was stunned by Curry’s explosion, as he came through in a huge minute for the short-handed Warriors.
Visit Defence Online’s house site for more tales.
Stephen Curry pulled off just one of the best fears of his job on Friday, scoring 33 points in the next fifty percent of Activity 6 to assist the Golden State Warriors get rid of the Houston Rockets.
Curry was held scoreless in the first fifty percent, continuing what had been a nightmare series for him in which he struggled by way of cold capturing and foul difficulties.
But in a tight 2nd half, Curry came by way of when his staff wanted him the most. With Kevin Durant sidelined with a calf harm for at the very least the next week, Curry and the Warriors reverted back to their 2014-2016 design of basketball to conquer the Rockets.
The Warriors went modest, moved the ball, uncovered the open up gentleman, then hounded the Rockets on protection, keeping them to just seven factors from the 6-minute mark in the fourth quarter right up until there were 30 seconds remaining (the Rockets scored some late baskets with the activity out of hand).
Curry helped produce many major shots through that time frame. Inspite of an aching remaining hand, he managed to push left to the hoop and rating on a crafty complete.
Moments later, he hit a vintage Curry move-back with P.J. Tucker draped all over him.
Then, Klay Thompson strike the dagger 3-pointer off a textbook ball motion from the Warriors when the Rockets trapped their pick-and-roll.
There was no shortage of praise for Curry and the Warriors after the match.
ESPN’s Tim Legler mentioned he was “speechless” looking at Curry score 33 factors in the second 50 percent.
ESPN’s Jeff Van Gundy stated he was “astounded” that the Warriors pulled off the earn, on the street, with no Durant.
Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni, although saying the decline would get a extensive time to get around, claimed he envisioned Curry to score some factors in the 2nd fifty percent, but “I did not anticipate 33,” he explained.
The relaxation of the NBA earth sang Curry and the Warriors’ praises, as well.
Steph has always been the most essential Warrior. But he’s also experienced some truly rough moments in some genuinely large spots.
33 points tonight in the 2nd 50 percent with out KD to eliminate the only group to obstacle them the previous 2 decades is all time good stuff.
— nick wright (@getnickwright) Could 11, 2019
In a recreation of this magnitude, Steph Curry notching 33 in the 2nd half just after a scoreless 1H in which he pretty much experienced zero rhythm has to be just one of his extra impressive feats, right?!
— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) May perhaps 11, 2019
Assume we know who Stephen Curry is, too
— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) May well 11, 2019
There was even a “Game of Thrones” crossover:
Steph Curry came alive in the second 50 % of Match 6 like Jon Snow with 33 factors. pic.twitter.com/q59ZdpNS49
— Michael Scotto (@MikeAScotto) May possibly 11, 2019
The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami rated the get as the next-best of the Warriors’ championship period.
No. 1 Warriors’ playoff instant: Video game 6 at OKC, heading by Durant
No. 2 Warriors’ playoff second: Recreation 6 at Houston, going via the Rockets with no Durant
— Tim Kawakami (@timkawakami) May well 11, 2019
In what may possibly have been the worst playoff series of Curry’s career, he however ended up the hero.
The Warriors will perform the winner of the Denver Nuggets-Portland Trail Blazers series in the Western Convention Finals.

Craig Sager's oldest children are blasting their father's 2nd wife -- claiming she's a shameless gold digger who drove a wedge between the family and ultimately had them cut out of the legendary NBA reporter's will.
"She's greedy," Kacy Sager wrote ... "She didn't even let us say goodbye to him because she wanted to spend his last day of consciousness alone with him. My brother saved his life & she still tried to poison our father against us."
The rift went public on Tuesday -- when Craig Sager Jr. said he was being pestered by sheriffs and court officials over "a will that myself and my sisters are not only 100% excluded from but do not even have any interest in contesting in the first place."
FYI, Craig Sr. passed away in 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Craig had 3 children from his 1st marriage (Craig Jr., Kacy and Krista) and 2 kids with his 2nd wife Stacy, whom he married in 2001.
But Craig Jr.'s older sister, Kacy, revealed a deeper issue with Stacy.
"[Craig Sager] left his family for a chick in her 20s, & she spent their whole marriage spending everything he made & driving a wedge between us. And is continuing after his death."
"The issue isn't the will. We never cared about the money. It's that she's trying to keep us away from everything, including the Sager Strong Foundation & the kids, and is making lawyers and sheriffs do her dirty work instead of picking up a phone."
Craig Jr. tells TMZ Sports ... "I love my dad. I love my family. I am not mad. I am not in a bad place. I am quite fine, loving work and finally taking a breather."
"But I want for myself and my family to move on peacefully and without paranoia over the Sword of Damocles this divorce has dangled over our heads for more than half my life. Enough."
"I shouldn't have Sherrifs knocking on my doors when I'm not in his will or fighting the fact that I'm not. I want to be able to relax without worrying about a Sheriff knocking on my door. That's it."

The Very Best Nba Betting Sports System
Only about half of the teams in the NBA have actually won an NBA Championship which means they haven't been doing something right on management's end since the franchise started. Out of the 17 teams that have actually won the championship, eight teams only have one ring while six have four or less. The Bulls are the team in the middle of the pack with six NBA Championships in which all of them came after the year 1991 when the Bulls had Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. The last two teams on the list of champions in the Lakers (16 championships) and the Celtics (17 championships) these two teams must have been doing something right over the years in order to win more than half of all the NBA Championships ever and I'm going to explain it to you right now.

Flash will not go quietly. Before Shaq partnered up with King James (and after Kobe), Dwayne Wade was the man for whom he set picks. Flash has been exploding on a nightly basis in Miami as the Heat make a playoff push. As he showed with his nba Finals performance - and again with his showing at the Summer Olympics of 2008 - no one can top Dwayne Wade when he gets hot. What an incredible industry. Every morning Jerry Jones' team has articles written about it. Free color pictures on the front nba broadcast rights page promoting his brand. Radio shows talking solely about his product for hours on end. Let's nba broadcast look at another scenario. Imagine that it's half time in Basketball and Football, it's the 5th inning in Baseball and it's the 2nd period in hockey. Which of these four following scenarios have the best outcome? Thompson is intriguing if you are the Warriors. He will most likely be available at no. 11 and exudes potential with his 6'9" lanky body and natural offensive awareness. Basketball is one of the world's leading sports ever. nba중계 It has surpassed other sports like football, soccer, baseball, tennis, volleyball and cricket. Not only it surpassed the ratings of other sports, but also surpassed them by means of watching them. Basketball is an exciting sport like no other, and the fans are loving it. There is no such thing that basketball channels may appear on analog TV sets. If you want to watch basketball every day, it needs you to subscribe with a local cable or satellite TV provider. There is no one who can stop you as a fan from subscribing with a cable television package, because you badly need it for entertainment and excitement.
