I have always thought that Meghan's pre- arriage "everyone loves classy" PR was as much aimed towards Harry as it was the public.

She presented herself as the ultimate fun loving, carefree, intelligent, smart, enterpreneur, business woman world traveler career woman millionaire who was also a domestic goddess, spiritual, go getter. These are words that Harry has used to describe her, at some point or other.

I believe a lot of what Harry initially got told about her, through her, was based off of her IG page, Tig blogs, small scale media presence. It must have been pretty easy for her to leave a story and present a certain personality based on pictures, cutsie videos and glam photoshoots. It's basically what she did on a more public scale with her PR as well.

But also, since Harry was pretty dumb, desperate for a partner he could show off to the world and his family, and they were pretty much in a long distance, he would have bought whatever she sold to him. His cosseted up bringing ensured he lacked the street smarts to call someone, especially such a confident outgoing woman out on her bullshit. What she presented to him was his version of "normal" everyday life, but it was also the right amount of adventurous, fun, glam, celebrity lifestyle which he could finally embrace.

Back in the UK, noone treated him a special of a celebrity. His family, his cousins, his friends were all low-key. But he had started believing his own PR and thought of himself as somewhat of a hunk, sought after bachelor celebrity. His friends would have laughed in his face if he started acting like he enjoyed the red carpet and Hollywood parties. But here, with her, he could enjoy that because it was her thing. She was seemingly accommodating him in her super celeb highflyer lifestyle.

He was being conned and he didn't know it.

Which is why it was such a shock to him Everytime she started collapsing on the floor in hysterics because he thought he broke her. So he had to play the hero and fix it for her. So this whole time, and till date maybe, he's been thinking he made all these decisions as a last resort, because he had no choice, but he was being backed into a corner so expertly that he saw no other option that to do what he did in the way did.

He thought that sudden, cataclysmic changes in her personality- from the art loving accomplished fun loving millionaire a complished actress supermodel best effortless classy royal to bitter, resentful hyper scared underconfident depressed person - was his doing. But actually, it was just Meghan finally being what she always was, and peeling back her own layers slowly and methodically so as not to scare him away.

What's hilarious is that while she was conning him, he was also being insidious and hiding his true self from her. She was too blinded by her hubris to see that. And she got hoodwinked too.

She never factored in Harry's special kind of sociopathy and darkness. Which is the biggest reason she (they are) is now failing.

But that's for another Ted talk, I guess, so I'll stop now and save that for later.

So I am going to break this down by paragraph.

I also believe she was aiming this directly at the UK public and his family, but mostly the UK public. Her PR knew that if she didn’t have the backing of the UK public there is no way that the family would get behind their relationship. Also, she was marketing herself as the opposite of Catherine. Right around this time there were a ton of anti-Kate articles being published. About how she was too shy, not a hard worker, had a nanny, she didn’t know how to dress or photograph well, she wasn’t a kind and loving DIL to Charles, she was TOO involved with her family, she didn’t like horses, she had nothing in common with William – though Meghan had LOTS in common with William, she wasn’t well-educated, she wasn’t posh enough, she only had a degree in Art History, she never had a real job, she waited around for William to propose,…you get the idea. From November 2016 onwards we were saturated with articles about how Meghan was much better Duchess/Princess of Wales material.

We also know that they communicated thru IG often so from June 2016 onwards we can say for sure that her IG account and Tig blog were totally geared towards Harry and getting his attention and keeping it.

Exactly. Even though Harry now claims he hated the attention we all know he secretly loved being in the spotlight. His bitterness of George being born and then William taking on more of a Crown Prince role leaving Harry obsolete has been made clear through all of his interviews and his book. Harry wanted to be the center of attention so when he saw the “red carpet appearances” and fashion shoots of Meghan he thought he was finally getting someone who could make him more popular and more celebrity-like. Also, think of how easy it is to reinvent yourself when you aren’t faced with people from your past interfering in your relationship or you having to actually be around the person day to day. Meghan was totally able to tell Harry whatever she wanted because by this point, anyone who could truly tell him exactly who she was had been kicked out of her life long before.

He totally bought into the “Hero Harry” PR campaign that ELF put out there…I mean we see it even now that Harry thinks he deserves special treatment because he served in the military. Well so did my brother who actually put his life on the line more than once and he doesn’t even use his military discount. What is hysterical is that his impression she was some sort of Hollywood superstar makes it clear he has no real knowledge of the workings of the world. He kept saying how impressed his family was by the amazing woman who was so accomplished and famous but 99.95% of the world had zero idea of who she was. What I find extremely telling is that he grew up with a certain set of people, women who had been raised in noble families and none of them wanted anything to do with him…it took a very long distance relationship with a hustler to tie him down.

Meghan might have nurtured the idea but I for a while have felt that Harry has always wanted to really bash his family and the press and he now has his opening.

You know when you get into a relationship and you always try to portray the best version of yourself and then slowly reveal your flaws? Like, maybe you aren’t the best housekeeper or you can’t cook to save your life…well Meghan portrayed herself as a victim and Diana 2.0. The thing is though, Diana was VERY prone to emotional outbursts and crying tirades so this is something familiar to Harry. It probably triggered him even more than her being completely in control of her emotions because Harry had witnessed his mother more than once sobbing on the floor during his childhood so Meghan sobbing on the floor triggered his white knight complex. What I think caught Harry by surprise, at first, was Meghan’s bullying tactics. That is one aspect of her personality she had a hard time suppressing. She was rude to anyone she saw as beneath her and at first he probably had issues with that but then she convinced him it was because she was bi-racial or that people were jealous of her.

So I don’t know if you watched the Netflix series but it is SO clear that Meghan has him completely hoodwinked. By her saying in the series that she had no idea she had to curtsy to The Queen (Yeah okay sure) that she knew nothing of the Royals. Or when she was full on caught out lying during her lawsuit she blamed HER LYING and getting CAUGHT on William! And Harry bought it!

She also never factored in him crashing and burning in popularity. Meghan truly thought that the heir to the throne should be determined by popularity and not birthright. So when they couldn’t convince the BRF to hand the keys to the castle over to Meghan and Harry she was pissed. I think she also counted on his popularity making her more important that Catherine in the hierarchy. The based all of their goals and ambitions on Harry’s popularity and not once did they take into account that the BRF would stick to the script. Once Harry started being told “No” for once in his life they started imploding and I think that is when Harry started to turn…up till that point he had been busy covering for her but now that he was going to be left out in the cold is when I think she truly got an idea of just what type of NARC he is.

But that's for another Ted talk, I guess, so I'll stop now and save that for later.

Hi Skippy & Friends-Pilgrim remembering the famous line from an early TV show called Dragnet when Joe Friday said this on each episode. I think the Royal Family and Firm are doing the same thing…which seems to be using only absolutely, 100% accurate facts, while they were working for them. That is all any employer can comment about really. The ILBW was an actress and did the Tig. Whatever else was claimed by the Sussex duo cannot be trusted or verified. The royal site referred to her best work on Suits, not mentioning the lessor jobs she did along the way-some of which were very tawdry. As for H, they did the same-just the dignified things he did for his family when employed by them.

As for the invisible children still listed in the line of succession that seems to be a very big gift to the con artist grifters. This is like having two baby elephants running around the room which in the end will make a huge mess. It seems the in-laws don’t feel like it is their right to become involved with that clean up job either. Opps-the word is out now so take them off the website and out of the royal clan. Check!

Sending readers to their website should come with a warning about data mining and identity theft. By the way, on her new site where she plans on selling items, can you imagine buying something and giving her your credit card number and your shipping address? Holy cow…that is stuff for nightmares! Finally, my heart goes out to the lone male, Prince William, keeping his chin up this whole time while having to deflect such ugliness for his wife and family. We are all human and the stress since he knew what his lovely wife was facing (possibly changing both their lives forever) has been enormous as he also puts up with his abusive brother…geez. The constant barrage of negativity and exhaustion is showing even on his handsome face. I am sure the Princess of Wales is trying very hard to not burden him as much as she can while recuperating.

As for the slimy Andy Cohen opening his big mouth about the royal shoppers…who should believe one word he says! He is the person creating shows that make women look like drunken, stupid, wasteful, spiteful, sneaky, backstabbing, status clawing frauds. Fire pumped through Mila's veins as she loaded the gun. Her jaw aching from clenching it, her now dry eyes heavily lined with dark makeup. Every time she blinked, she could see the blood, the bodies; she could hear the screams. Mila barely made it out, crawled through the back door and hid, shaky hands frantically dialing Jax as tears streamed down her face.

Mila wanted to do more, to save them, but she couldn't. She was just one person against a hit team, one person whose gun was three rooms away, a path she couldn't take without getting shot herself. The killer's faces, even their fucking grins as they walked now seared into her memory.

Mila was out of it when the club came upon the scene. She was outside still, hiding behind the garbage container, knees, and hands scarred up from crawling, tears paused as she sat there in shock.

Tig found her first, he pushed the container aside and reached for her, his blue eyes full of shock, clearly still processing the scene inside. Though Mila recognized him, it took a few blinks until she responded.

"Baby, you're safe now, you can come out" He extended his hand again, gently beckoning her closer.

"Tig?"

"Yeah," he said softly, "it's me. Come on, let's get out of here."

She nodded, tears falling again as she took his hand.

Life, death, loss. There's been a lot of the last two lately, too much.

She missed the simpler times; she missed life before the Reapers came into it. Yet, she was conflicted, some of the guys are like family now, and she couldn't imagine life without them.

What's your favorite silverusso scene of all time and why

the mini mart scene! everything about it is perfect to me minus the setting lmao. we have Daniel standing up to Terry, and we have Terry all up in Daniel's personal space (just like old times!), staring him down as he tells him that Daniel liked what Terry did to him, and suggesting that Terry knows who/what Daniel really is. and throughout it all there’s such delicious tension unlike anything they share with other characters. specifically, here are some reasons this scene is my favorite:

the way Terry approaches Daniel here and the way Daniel has to brace himself for what Terry is about to say next, because he KNOWS what Terry is about to say but he’s going to look at Terry right in the eyes when he says it. and that’s so???

2.

Terry says it! and he 100% believes what he is saying to Daniel here. but what he gets most gratification from here is that he is getting under Daniel's skin. that's why he’s doing it, that’s what he gets off on. and that’s so???

3.

again, Terry believes what he is saying here. and this moment specifically is so pivotal to Daniel’s “MD ONLY” stance this season. yes, Daniel doesn't rise to the bait in this moment and instead says "we'll settle this on the mat." BUT of course by that he means "I'm not Cobra Kai, there's nothing Cobra Kai about me or in me, there’s no you in me, I love and respect Mr. Miyagi and what he taught me and that’s who I am and that’s what I teach and to prove that to you my students are going to defeat your students using only Miyagi do." in other words Daniel's single-minded focus on MD in the latter half of s4 is both about "well I defeated CK in the past with MD so it's only logical we use MD and only MD in the AVT there’s no time to figure out anything else" AND about "I can't use CK methods/style because that's what Terry wants to see, just like in ‘85, and I refuse to prove Terry right about me" aka it's all a response to Terry's presence and Terry's claims about him. it really is that easy for Terry to just waltz back into his life and take over Daniel’s mind like this because Daniel’s afraid that Terry is right about him. that he did like it. that Cobra Kai/Terry is in him. and that’s so???

anyway if their scenes together in s5 are anything like this scene, then bring it on, my clown suit is ready.

as for my favorite scene in KK3? uhm let’s go for now with Terry’s fake white knight act in the MD garden and Daniel staring after him like a love-struck fairy tale protagonist. behold, yearning:

ugh no wait but also when Terry shouts at Daniel to call him “sir” and Daniel looks so scared that he’s disappointed/upset Terry. the contrast! (but also, it’s still yearning??)

Review #8: Yumi's Cells (Season 1)

WARNING: THIS POST DEF CONTAINS SPOILERS. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE DRAMA. (I will do my best to label spoilers, but I’m not perfect.)

With the second season announced, this drama has been showing up in front of me a lot lately. For a while, I thought it looked kind of cringe, which is why it took me so long to finally give it a chance. What made me cave in was seeing that Jinyoung from GOT7 was a part of the show. This drama came out in 2021 and is starring Ahn Bo-hyun, Kim Go-eun and Jinyoung.

Welcome to THE THIRST CORNER!!!!

I'm gonna just say it right off from the beginning, I figured I would simp over Jinyoung the most. He's someone I know, he's definitely handsome and his character (Yoo Bobby) is really sweet.

HOWEVER

Ku Woong is possibly the most attractive male lead I've ever seen. Like, the way I was instantly smitten with him? His hair is so cute, I LOVE HIS BEARD IDK WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS. Also, to be blunt, he's got some tig ol' biddies and I am a FAN. He's so strong yet gentle. I love the gentle giant type idk.

He's also not just physically attractive (100% my ideal type in this drama) his personality is just AHG. He's so smart and level headed. I'm in love with his big juicy brain. The way he does quick math? I'm in awe. But like he's also dumb? The most perfect himbo to ever exist.

Also, he looks like a real life Asahi Azumane (but Korean instead of Japanese ofc).

Like, Woong is absolutely best boy. He's not perfect, of course, but he's so sweet. I can't find any other words to describe the way he makes me feel. I just am absolutely head over heels in love with him. Would do anything for him. I feel like I could treat him better than Yumi. Just come here sweet boy. All I want is one chance.

Like?? He's too precious for this world?? (this scene had me kicking my feet and squealing like I was 14 again)

Also, as someone who isn't the best at cleaning, the fact that he genuinely enjoys cleaning and organizing is that much more attractive. He's my perfect opposite and I think we could really make it work.

Side note: I couldn't figure out where I recognized him from, but he plays Eun-gi in Her Private Life! (I thought he was also adorable in this role and got severe second male lead syndrome from him). So maybe I'm an Ahn Bo-Hyun fan. What about it?

His character is unbelievably sweet. I love how respectful he is. (SPOILER) Like, I def could tell he had feelings for Yumi, but did his best to not make her or Woong uncomfortable. Also, Yoo Bobby deserves better, tbh. (SPOILER) His girlfriend was terrible and I hope nothing good ever happens to her.

I obviously have less to say about him because 1- he's not Woong. 2-He actually wasn't around much until the end. I'll have more to say once I watch and review season 2.

Thank you for indulging me as I gush about the love of my life Ku Woong. I feel like I can move on now. (Not move on from Woong but just like move on in the review).

I feel like this drama concept was really original. Like, the fact that different cells in our body control different things. The animation gave a really cool look into the mind of our characters without taking away from the story too much. I think, of all the cells, I loved Hunger the most . He's a cutie and I love the little tteokbokki on his head.

Lets talk female lead really quick.

I was so excited when I realized the female lead was my girl Kim Go-eun. I loved her in Goblin and was excited to see her in a bit of a more mature role.

Lets start with the things I love about Yumi :)

I love the way that she's most motivated by Love. (Thats an indirect spoiler I guess?) I find that extremely relatable and could really connect to Yumi, especially in the beginning. She works hard and is diligent with whatever she's given. When she does something, she puts her entire heart into it, which I think is really admirable.

Now what I don't like :(

Especially towards the end, it became so difficult to root for Yumi. Maybe it was because I was so wrapped around Woong's finger, but she seemed to not even take him into consideration. If Woong wasn't doing things her way, then he was in the wrong. I do admit, there were mistakes Woong made along the way (SPOILER) mostly just holding too tightly to his pride as a man. But Yumi just kind of did whatever she wanted. Maybe that was just me. She just let too much bother her in regards to outside influences and her relationship. I hope she's grown by Season 2.

The ending gave me 25/21 flashbacks(iykyk). It didn't feel right. It felt like it was just because they wanted a more "realistic" ending and didn't even bother to look at character development. Or even want to put in the work to develop the characters. I was so distressed by the ending that I literally put my head down on my desk and cried for a while. I can't imagine finishing this drama and not knowing there was a second season. Props to all of you that had to endure this long.

In regards to the OST, I actually really like it. The only artist I recognize is J.UNA as well as DOYOUNG. But I think the soundtrack really did well to set the mood. It's also just nice background music for life, which means its a good OST in my opinion!

I'm hopeful that season 2 will be just as good if not better. This drama made me laugh, cry, scream, swoon, and everything else in-between. That's something I like in whatever media I'm consuming, whether it be a kdrama or a marvel movie.

Rating for this drama: 9/10 (It has inserted itself into my kdrama top 20)

I've seen this pointed out elsewhere but the director of the Wedding said it was numbered 9 but would air mid-season way back in December of 2021. I dunno if this helps clear anything up but it adds to the evidence that it was on purpose to make The Wedding episode 6 all along. (1/2)

To me, that actually reads like it was initially supposed to be later but by the time it was filmed, they'd changed their mind -- but even after it was filmed, they weren't 100% sure! That seems to indicate a level of ambivalence late in the process that's fairly surprising. (And I do mean ambivalence in the classical sense here -- that they still had mixed feelings.)

It also seems to indicate that it still could have fit into the episode nine slot. (The "more likely" seems to indicate that they were still making decisions.) So does that mean that the events of this filmed and mostly completed episode could have happened just the way they did after Freddie's appearance? That's kind of crazy to think about. Like it's possible that some footage concerning him hit the cutting room floor, but that's still crazy.

ETA: And they said that was a wrap on the episode AND the season? So it had all been filmed and they still weren’t sure yet??

So. Season 4.

I haven't really had a chance to talk about my feelings about it after my chaotic liveblog thread, but I think it's pretty obvious that I really loved it and I just have to highlight some of my favorite things:

First things first: Daniel's hottest season confirmed! Some of those joggers leggings looked like they were painted on him! 👀

It was also Johnny's DILFiest season and the season of Dad Bod Billy! He looked extra big and beefy with a hint of squish and I feel so blessed for it 🥵

The Amanda & Tory storyline! In Rosa Macchio's immortal words: I LOVED. I was so happy that they took Amanda out of the dealership and gave her a connection with someone outside of her family unit.

Minimal scenes in LaRusso Auto!

Daniel barely wore a suit and tie this season and the handful of times when he was forced to change out of his slutty athleisure, the suits actually fit him.

The LaRusso vs Lawrence rematch. They're so dumb and emotionally regressed at that point, but damn if that fight wasn't a great bit of fan service. Though Daniel attempting to use the paralyzing move on Johnny had me going :((((((( I guess it just showed how off-balance and affected by Silver's return Daniel was.

All the parallels, callbacks and references! This show has always been great at them, but they felt extra well-done in this season. I was especially emotional about the surprising similarities between Johnny and Mr. Miyagi.

I've never been that invested in the teenage characters, but this season Eli, Tory, Robby, Sam and Miguel were among my favorite characters.

Johnny's step dad energy with Sam! I've wanted to see those two bond for so long and they did it beautifully. I'm especially emotional about the tournament.

I see myself more as a Daniel stan, but Johnny really had my heart this season ❤ I love one (1) emotionally stunted himbo.

Terry Silver and his slowburn descent into madness! It's no secret that I'm not that into TKK3 version of him, but Cobra Kai Terry? Absolutely fascinating to me. And a great performance from TIG.

Another slowburn I loved is the relationship between Johnny and Daniel. Yeah, it's absolutely frustrating at times, because they've been doing this song and dance for four seasons (though it's only been one year in the CK universe, right?) and I wanted to knock their stubborn heads together, but I also...wouldn't have it any other way? Sure, I want them to get therapy and stay in that beautiful domesticity of family dinners and hockey dates, but somehow this messy Ross and Rachel-esque back and forth still felt more like them (at this point in their lives), in my opinion.

Because season 4 really drove home that both Daniel and Johnny still have a lot of personal issues. I loved seeing Daniel spiral the moment Terry Silver walked back into his life. He frustrated me, sure, but the reasons behind his behavior are such good fic and meta fodder. And then you also have Johnny with his identity crisis (he's 100% all man, okay???), all the insecurities about Miguel, and him falling off the wagon again in the most painful scene this show has ever done 😭 Johnny's tear-stained face will haunt me forever.

This was also Johnny and Daniel's h0rniest season!!! Checking each other out, the Buttercup & Farm Boy vibes Daniel brought to his training of Johnny, the 80s p0rn vibes Johnny brought to his training of Daniel, the slice of domestic life, bickering like an old married couple (or like two preschoolers who maybe kind of like each other but would rather pull each other's pigtails), the "couple-on-the-brink-of-divorce-who-still-want-each-other" vibes. Yeah that was some good shit. And that reconciliation in the final episode? That goes straight to Romantic Gestures hall of fame. The Lawrusso fandom truly dined like royalty 👑

There's a lot more, but these were the true highlights for me. I could do a list of things that didn't work for me (because there were things I didn't like), but eh, I don't feel like it. Plus I have to go and break my back shoveling snow again, because this stupid weather just won't give us a break 😬
