He was broad in build; if I wrapped my hands around his neck, I doubted that my fingers would meet. Perhaps I ought to have been threatened by that, but there was something pleasant in how outwardly his power was displayed. There was so little artifice in the slapdash scatter of the stubble on his jaw, the deep furrows of his brow, the harsh square of his chin. His was not a face made for deception.
