Fic-to-Art #39: Gladiator's ELEVENTH Anniversary! (+ BONUS: Fic-to-Art #36...)
And here we are! March 26th arrived and I did not forget about it, but I paid for my ambitious madness with my wrist and forearm. Somehow, I finished my intended pieces on time, but I do not advise that you ever try to make 9 artworks in 3 days. No, sir. Bad life decisions, that's what that was... but this fic, as anyone knows, moves me to do things I never thought possible, starting with writing the fic itself!
It's really crazy every time it hits me that I've been doing this for as long as I have. It's been a complicated, chaotic journey, with its many ups and downs, but ultimately, it has been our journey. For some people, this is just one more fic in the pile: for me, it's been the best adventure of my life so far. Everyone who has ever been touched by Gladiator, who has ever cherished this story, who's looking forward to the big conclusion, who wants to see how the chaotic war is going to end... you're all part of this crazy adventure along with me, and I can only thank you for joining me.
This year, I had no time to make as big a project as I usually go for. Thus, I did a sort of free-for-all edition of Fic-to-Art over at Patreon and challenged myself to draw as many scenes as I could, out of their suggestions. I even sprinkled in a few scenes I impulsively wanted to draw because I loved writing them or because I look forward to writing them... and this is the result!
In order, the scenes are as follow:
Sokka combing Azula's hair, a common occurrence throughout the story.
Azula watching over a convalescing Sokka in the Chase of Jeong Jeong arc.
The outcome of Sokka's final battle in the Superior Gladiator League, namely a moment where Sokka and Azula more or less gave away their relationship's true nature to the public by raising their hands towards each other...
And now, spoiler territory! Some were by my choice, some by Patreon requests:
An important moment shortly after Sokka and Azula reunite.
Azula confronting her father, with a LOT of backup.
Xin Long's long-awaited freedom.
The aftermath of the final battle.
The full-blown confirmation of their relationship to the general Fire Nation populace.
Sokka, Azula and Hotaru's first night together
And the big final one is ACTUALLY Fic-to-Art #36 but hahaha woops I didn't post it here on time because it was super hard to finish since I had a LOT of things going on... but here it is now! :'D it's a glimpse VERY far into the future of this fic's timeline!
Alright, that should be enough talking and explaining. Some things are vague, some things aren't, but ultimately I really hope you guys will be looking forward to the scenes you haven't seen yet, and to Gladiator's eventual outcome.
So now... with all this being said and done, I'm gonna go take a trip down memory lane and watch my Tenth Anniversary video once more! Feel free to do the same thing if you'd like to commemorate the fic, I think it's a good way to experience Gladiator all over again, hahaha.
Thank you if you read all this, and if you read all THAT: 5 million word landmark, here we come! Thanks for hanging out with me across ELEVEN years of Gladiator!

Hey there, Tumblr folks!
First things first, I'm sorry for being MIA for so long. But hey, I have a pretty good excuse, I'm having a baby in May! Yes, you read that right. Yours truly is going to be a mom. It's been a wild ride so far, but I'm so excited to meet my little bundle of joy.
Now, I know some of you might be wondering what happened to all the finished Buddie fanart that I promised to post last year. Well, fear not my friends, I have plenty of it saved up and ready to share with the world. From Buck and Christopher's adventure at a fair with a giant shark plushie, to baby Bee's adorable baby picture (she's the daughter I imagine Buck accidentally ending up with and raising with Eddie, by the way), and even a Buckley-Diaz family beach day (baby Bee included, of course), I've got it all.
And if that's not enough, I also have a super cool Buddie t-shirt design that I made. I can't wait for you all to see it!
But that's not all, folks. I'm also working on an online shop with my friend @thefriendlypigeon (yes, that's her real name of course), and we're hoping to have it up and running soon. So, if you're in the market for some sweet stickers or prints, stay tuned for updates.
So, there you have it. I promise to post all this amazing content soonish, but my energy levels are pretty low at the moment (thanks, pregnancy), so bear with me. In the meantime, feel free to ask me anything about my headcanons for baby Bee or just say hi.
I also wanted to let you all know that my inbox is always open for anything, especially Buddie related content. I love hearing from you guys and seeing what kind of creative ideas you come up with. So, don't be shy to drop in and say hi, or even send me a prompt. I can't promise I'll be able to draw them all (again pregnancy does have a way of sapping your energy, after all), but I always love to see what kind of ideas you come up with. Who knows, maybe your prompt will be the spark that inspires my next piece! It's time for some 2023 art I guess.
I've missed you all! Sending love and virtual hugs ❤️

I'm playing through skyward sword rn and realized this dude has litteraly zero hesitation when it comes to diving off cliffs and such, like he grew up doing it to get around skyloft so to him its just completely normal to dive headfirst off cliffs to get somewhere. Imagine how the other heros reacted the first time Sky just throws himself off a cliff like it's nothing lol
lol, you're so right! the boys' first time on skyloft, sky just yeets himself over the edge~
most of them: O_O !?!?!?
wind and wild: :D !!! -start to get out their deku leaf and paraglider, respectively-
twilight: -smacks both of their hands- i can't believe i have to say this, but no one else will be jumping off the floating sky island!
*later*
time: -clamps his hands on sky's shoulders- sky. please don't ever do that again.
legend: at least give us some warning first.
time: no, no. look at me, sky. never. never. do that again. you just shaved a decade off my life.
(but sky keeps doing it, of course. he can't help it. time just accepts it with the weariest of sighs, gaining new grey hair every time.)
- - -
ehhhh, i also used this as an excuse to write a liddol sky & wars drabble. hope you enjoy~ :3
Warriors stands squarely in the middle of the tiny floating landmass, peering dubiously at the clouds far below. "I take it this is your Hyrule, then?"
"Yes!"
Balancing on his toes, Sky shades his eyes as he searches for something in the distance. He teeters right on the edge of the island. Warriors refrains from grabbing his sailcloth and dragging him further inland. (Not that there’s much "inland" to speak of. He could cross this puny hunk of rock in three strides, tops.)
Sky breaks into a grin and points to the silhouette of another floating island. "Skyloft is right over there!"
"Great. So what's the plan for getting there, exactly?"
Even though Sky's responding laugh is an airy, jubilant sound with no hint of mischief, it unnerves Warriors.
He suddenly has a terrible feeling about what's to come.
"With my loftwing, of course!"
"Your…pet bird?"
Everyone on Skyloft has a feathered companion gifted to them by the goddess Hylia herself, according to Sky, but Warriors fails to see how that connects to their present situation.
"He’s more than just a pet!" Sky grabs Warriors' hand. "I can't wait for you to meet him! Let’s go!"
"Go wh—?"
But the Captain's question is cut off as Sky hurls himself over the precipice and, with unanticipated strength, yanks Warriors along with him.
They fall. Warriors' stomach swoops, detached from gravity. He opens his mouth (maybe to say What the hell, Sky? or maybe to scream. He's not sure.), but his voice catches in his throat like a fly in a skulltula's web. Over the rush of wind assailing his ears, he hears Sky unleash a shrill, sharp whistle, and glances over to see his friend looking positively euphoric.
That does nothing to allay his anxiety.
Then, without warning, a blur of bright red overtakes Warriors' vision, and he collides with something hard. Before he can register what's happening, Sky draws him up into a sitting position and yells, "Hold on to me!"
The instruction is unnecessary. Warriors has already firmly vised his arms around Sky's waist, and he has absolutely no intention of letting go any time soon.
Dazed, he gazes down at red feathers, at giant flapping wings, at a gangly neck and a massive, blunt bill, and oh my gods. This is Sky's loftwing. Sky's pet is a gargantuan monster bird, and they are riding it like a horse.
The loftwing flies much more swiftly than Warriors expects of such a large creature, and he closes his eyes to avoid becoming nauseated from the cream-colored clouds zooming by at high speed. Admittedly, he also wants to avoid looking down. He's never had trouble with heights before, but he's also never rocketed through the literal stratosphere before, either, so he thinks his fear here is justified.
By far, though, the scariest thing about this experience is Sky. Sky is laughing. Laughing like he's having the time of his life.
That laugh will never sound sweet and spirited to Warriors again. Oh, no. That is the laugh of a lunatic.
"Okay, get ready to jump!" Sky calls.
"Wha—?"
But once again, his question goes unfinished as Warriors is dragged off the back of the monstrous bird. He braces himself for the unsettling sensation of weightlessness, but it doesn't come. Instead, he promptly crashes into the ground, as graceless as a fledgling on its first venture from the nest.
"Oh! Sorry, Captain!" Sky says cheerily as he pulls Warriors to his feet. Heart hammering, Warriors sways, appreciative of Sky's steadying grip on his elbow as he tries to catch his breath. "Wasn't that amazing? I've missed flying so much!"
Blinking away the beginnings of vertigo, Warriors opens his eyes to see the loftwing is already a streak in the distance, a vibrant brushstroke of red paint against a colorless sky. And Sky, of course, is still grinning like a maniac.
"Amazing," Warriors huffs, raking a hand through his wind-tousled hair. "Sure. That's one word for it."

ok ok fine so- best moments of this new update:
(yes, this will be long, no I dont know how to put it under a read more on mobile. Sorry OTL)
- The Nightlights get actual unique personalities. In Homecoming, only Dart seemed to have one, while the boys were basically "cute boys who are always sparring". Here, Dart is inquisitive and forward, Ruff is a bit lazy but with a heart of gold, and Pouncer is playful and brave (he's biting at his tail like a dog would here lmao).
Tumblr media
- Pouncer reminds me of his dad a lot. He follows you around because he wants to be near you, he sneaks after you as you go to a dangerous place, and even tho he is Baby, he still tries to use a blinding sort of light flash /shot to protect you from dragon hunters. He can get a little scared at times but he immediately calms down near you, and trusts you enough to follow you despite being afraid. The moment the fear disappears he just happily flies around like a dork <3 He's probably my favorite of the three but it's really hard to choose because they're all so unique.
- Dart is very much her mother's daughter. She's impulsive, wild, and does what she wants when she wants. She also apparently idolizes the Green Death, which is hilarious (for those that dont know, the Green Death is another female who moved and took over Dragon Island after the original Red Death was killed in SOD Universe, and yes, she is green). I'm not kidding, she killed a ship full of people lmao. Well, indirectly. She flew up to the Green Death and eventually led her to shoot fire at a whole ship of warlords. And eventually set fire to the whole fleet... in the open seas. Yea, those people are dead.
Tumblr media
That said Dart is caring and protective and her special "power" is to rally and protect other dragons. She really feels like a mix of her mom's wild, more brutal side with her father's protectiveness. While she likes the Player character well enough I got the distinct feeling she bonds with dragons better, which I really love! She's just. Wild, but still open to work with people, just like her mom in this universe. Well, maybe a little more open than Mom. I also really like that both Pouncer and Ruffrunner had moments in which they were afraid and the Player had to comfort them, but Dart never did. She was always up and ready to go lmao.
- Ruffrunner is SO cute. Despite being a fighty boy, he's very attached to his parents and apparently wants to make them proud. He's also very lazy, he likes to nap around |D That said, he cares so deeply for others that he willingly puts himself in danger and draws enemy fire so others can attack properly. He's more tanky than the other two so he can take it. He's SO eager to help (and prove himself), be it you or his parents, which matches how his unique ability is to take hits to make sure everyone isnt attacked. He reminds me of the Toothless that was willing to die if it meant saving Hiccup.
- Bonus points for Toothless for being a fantastic dad to his kids and apparently not taking the Stoick route. He encourages Ruffrunner to be brave and look, this is just an excuse to show you how adorable they are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Hiccup remarks that Ruffrunner reminds him a lot of himself and how he wanted to make his parents proud of ALL of him. Why, yes, he referenced the "all this" line in the year of our Lord 2022. Did I mention I love this game? I love this game.
Tumblr media
- As an AMAZING bonus, Valka was there and heard it, and she was actually a little awkward and upset at the thought of Hiccup suffering because of that. God. I love their dynamic. Just the right amount of awkwardness and guilt despite how much they love and understand each other, which makes perfect sense considering she abandoned him for 20 years.
- Valka in general getting focus and development is great. I love how every time she visits the Hidden World (she gets to see the Hidden World y'all!!!) she's in awe of it.
- Backtracking to talk about the Green Death for a second bc I love what they did with her! While she's just as violent and brutal as the Red Death, she didn't immediately go for the Warlord ships. Only after we rescued some baby scuttleclaws from those ships was that the Green Death attacked them.
Tumblr media
I just love love LOVE that a dragon of the same species as the "pure evil"-type one from the first movie is not ACTUALLY shown as pure evil and IS capable of protecting and caring... just like any other dragon. I did not expect this but it was SO good. Between this and you being able to rescue and train one of Grimmel's deathgrippers, I LOVE how this game tells us that there are no true evil dragons. 10/10 point goes to School of Dragons.
- Just, this line from Valka:
Tumblr media
I'm gonna be a bit salty for a sec because this. THIS. You have to respect these creatures and sometimes only watch from a distance- not every dragon needs to be trained, which is the lesson Hiccup seemingly had to learn in httyd 3. But learning about them, seeing them, living with them, even from a distance, is what leads to love and respect and inspires you to take care of them.
Not, y'know, shoving them down a hole for a thousand years. Even if it IS a very cozy hole. THAT just leads to them being forgotten and for people to still wanna use them for their own gains, like the timeskip show whose name I'm forgetting tells you.
Here they actually move back and forth between the skies and their ancestral home. I love that they have the freedom to do so.
- The King of Dragons lives! Somehow!
Tumblr media
I didn't expect this- would have been cool if Drago's Bewilderbeast had taken over the King's duties to protect the original nest- buuuut y'know what? I'm okay with this. He deserved better and he's a good boi and I love him so yea.
Stoick is still dead here, and it IS heavily implied to still have been Drago-Toothless who took him out, so my best guess is that Drago's Bewilderbeast took the King out of commission long enough for Toothless to challenge him and become an Alpha on his own, etc, but he's recovered since?
- Hiccup arrives in the Sacturary after a while and... I dunno, maybe seeing the King of Dragons reminded him of his father, because he quietly mutters that "I miss him so much."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The shock and pain kept me from screenshotting the first comment from him. Ugh, come for my heart won't you. I love that Hiccup still struggles with being Chief, and missing Stoick, but is trying his best. I love how this game doesn't forget about him- there's a whole video sequence dedicated to his memory in one of the previous storyline missions when we return to Dragon Island for the first time. I'm very lucky to have played this game VERY on and off for years, because I still remember everyone's httyd1 models, Stoick being there, and his missions about the importance of being responsible and being a chief. I treasure them fondly since he's not around anymore- not even in this game.
- Speaking of Hiccup, he's surprisingly absent for most of the storyline! He only shows up every now and then and doesn't even participate in the battle with the Warlords and Stormheart- you work mainly with the Nightlights and Valka through this story. At first I wasn't sure why, but eventually I realized that I really liked this. It sort of shows that Hiccup can delegate- that we don't NEED him to be there at all times to do the right thing and fight for the bond with dragons. It shows his ideas are spreading- that he's changing the world little by little :)
- I also really like how they pair each of the nightlights with a King Dragon that inspires them. Pouncer with the playful, curious and brave Luminous Krayfin, Dart with the fierce, wild yet protective Green Death, and Ruffrunner with the gentle, protective and loyal Bewilderbeast. Amazing way to showcase their personalities and make them unique! Also goes to show how all 3 have what it takes to, perhaps one day, become worthy Alphas of their own.
- As a last bit, I love that they make the Warlords threatening- Griselda gets a bit of a spotlight, and I loved the tension between the three Warlords and Stormheart since they kept intruding on her turf. I love how the Warlords got a whole storyline for themselves after Grimmel is dead, even if the star of the show is still Stormheart.
- Also also, it takes the whole gang (minus Hiccup and Toothless), PLUS Player and his dragon, PLUS Valka and Cloudjumper, PLUS THREE WHOLE NIGHTLIGHTS to defeat them, instead of 6 kids in flight suits. While the game focuses just on you and the nightlights, everyone else IS there and they didn't NEED to spend money and resources to add that. I thought it was very cool.
- Stormheart in general is just such a good character. I love that we have a female villain in the first place, I love how after threatening you for so long she finally decides she's done and Player's gonna die... I love that SHE's the final boss of the storyline because SHE is the main antagonist of this story and has always been.
- Also, I love that we finally get to blow up her fancy ship that used enslaved dragons to create steam for it to move. It felt so satisfying after all these years.
- Also, it's cute that the Player character gets to pick a nightlight to bond with and train for free at the end of the story, with Toothless and the Light Fury watching on. The fact that they approve and that Hiccup trusts you with this is such a fun way to end this story and to show how far Player has come.
Overall, I both feel and fear this game is gearing up for a final storyline... Stormheart escaped, but her ship and most of her power is no more. Even her ally, Harald, has (perhaps surprisingly) betrayed her and gave us the info to destroy her ship. It feels like it's leading up to one final confrontation with her. If so, it will make the whole thing one hell of a ride, and I couldn't be happier to be able to experience it myself. This story and world is so rich, and it really sticks to the franchise's core, while being fun, educative, not afraid to craft their own unique stories, and so, so full of heart. As I said earlier, it really reminds me of why I love httyd as much as I do.

𝑀𝑦 𝐺𝑖𝑟𝑙 𝑃𝑡. 4 (𝐵𝑎𝑑𝑏𝑜𝑦! 𝑆𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑔ℎ𝑤𝑎)
Part One/ Part Two/ Part Three
Tumblr media
Pairing: Badboy! Park Seonghwa (Ateez)/ Reader (Female)
Genre: Angst, Fluff, College AU.
Synopsis: Final part of the bad boy! Seonghwa series. Y/N finally tells Seonghwa her answer to his confession.
✿❯────「✿」───❮✿❯──「✿」────❮✿
"Seonghwa!"
Seonghwa pulled away and stomped his foot on the pavement, gritting his teeth.
"Fucking hell, can't even get a break." He complained, sighing in frustration.
Seonghwa helped Y/N get down from the railing. She fanned her face as she suddenly felt hot from the compromising position she and Seonghwa were in a few seconds ago. She watched as a shorter male with ash blonde hair ran over to them, somewhat out of breath.
"Hongjoong you better have a good excuse for interrupting me." Seonghwa glared daggers at the younger male, his arms crossing over his chest as his foot tapped impatiently on the pavement.
"Well would you count Mingi getting his head stuck in a lamp shade as good enough?" Said Hongjoong mimicked Seonghwa, crossing his arms over his chest while tilting his head to the side.
"What the?! How even?! Ugh! Where is he?" Seonghwa could already feel his head pulsating with a coming migraine.
"In Yunho's room, who's probably trying to calm him down at the moment." He gestured behind him at the house.
Seonghwa inhaled and pinched the bridge of his nose. He let out an exasperated breath.
"Fine. Let's see what I can do."
Without even thinking, his hand linked with Y/N's and he began pulling her back inside the house. Hongjoong was taken aback when he saw them holding hands. He looked back and forth between them.
"I thought he said they weren't a thing?" He thought to himself but ultimately decided to let it go, chuckling secretly to himself.
They went back inside the house through the back door so they wouldn't have to pass all the wild people dancing in the living room and hallway. In the kitchen, they were greeted by a very drunk and overly emotional Yeosang, who was currently crying on Jongho's shoulder, the latter helping him stay standing as he petted his hair.
"Yeosang?" Hongjoong looked at him.
"Ok, what happened to you now?" It seemed Seonghwa would have to fix yet another problem.
He began mumbling something incoherently due to his sniffling and talking while his face was pressed on Jongho's shoulder.
"I got him don't worry. Go help out the idiot upstairs." Jongho assured them as he tried to keep Yeosang from collapsing on the floor.
Seonghwa looked back at Y/N
"You don't mind waiting here a few minutes do you?"
She smiled and reassured him she'd be fine. He let go of her hand and that's when it dawned on them both that they had been holding hands the entire time. Seonghwa stuffed his hands into his jean's pockets and walked away with his head hung low. Hongjoong who was next to him leaned in to say something to him, which resulted in him getting elbowed by the taller male as they went upstairs to fix whatever commotion was happening.
"You know, for 2 individuals who keep denying they're in a relationship, you sure act like you're in one." Jongho told her, snapping her gaze away from the staircase.
"Huh?" She looked at him, not paying attention to what he said.
Jongho snickered. "Exactly that. Lovesick puppies that can't seem to function without each other."
Yeosang whined loudly when he heard him mention the word 'love.'
"What's wrong with him anyway?" Y/N was worried for him. She leaned in and wiped some of Yeosang's tears away.
"Long story short: flip a coin, San goes home with Wooyoung for the night." Jongho explained as he rolled his eyes at the stupidity of it.
"Oh no, I'm sorry Yeosang." She brushed some of his bangs away from his face.
"Don't be, this always happens. If it had landed tails, then it'd be San crying here."
Yeosang grunted at the sound of his name and harshly dug his nails into Jongho's arm.
"Whoah ok Hyung, calm down. I get you're upset now but I'm already doing you a favor by keeping your drunk emotional ass company. No need for the agression."
Yeosang lifted his head up and groaned.
"Do me another favor and take me to nearest bathroom."
Seeing Yeosang's pale face, Jongho cringed as he lifted him up as if he weighed nothing.
"Seriously, shouldn't I be the reckless drunk getting taken care of you older guys? Why is it the other way around?"
Jongho excused himself and carried Yeosang to the bathroom as swiftly as he could before the poor boy threw up on himself or worse.
Y/N leaned back on the kitchen island. Her foot began drawing circles on the floor as she waited for Seonghwa to come back. She took the time to think about what Jongho said:
Do we act like a couple?
"No! Absolutely not! Besides, I don't even like him that way...." She thought to herself then immediately began questioning the veracity of that statement.
"Do I?"
She couldn't deny that Seonghwa was extremely attractive, especially with his leather jacket and tight jeans that hugged his thighs in the most dangerous and tempting manner. But besides his obvious beauty, he was also a very kind and genuine person. From the beginning, he stated his intentions and he was very open about what he did and didn't do. He was an open book and didn't try to conceal anything. He was also a complete gentleman towards her and was literally waiting for her to say yes.....
So what's keeping me from accepting him?
She was startled when she felt someone slide next to her, making her forget about what she was thinking.
"Hello there." An extremely attractive male with long pink hair smiled at her.
"Hi." She replied awkwardly, scooting a bit away from him.
"I'm Hyunjin. May I know your name?" He asked, his head tilting down to check her out.
"Y/N." She responded.
"Pretty name on such a pretty face." He grinned, coming closer to her.
Y/N retreated away when she felt him come closer, closer than she felt comfortable with.
"Don't be scared beautiful. I only want to talk." Hyunjin chuckled.
Y/N hardly believed that.
"Oh really? Just talk?" She raised an eyebrow at him.
Hyunjin hummed softly.
"Well unless you're up for something else. Then I'd be happy to oblige."
His hand moved to tuck her hair behind her ear.
"So what do you say? Wanna ditch this place and come home with me?" He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively at her.
"No-no thank you." She brushed his hand away which resulted in him gripping her wrist and pulling her against him.
"I promise you won't regret it." He smirked at her.
In a flash, Y/N watched as Hyunjin was yanked off her by none other than Seonghwa.
"She told you no Hwang Hyunjin. Can't you take a hint?"
Hyunjin scoffed as he straightened his jean jacket.
"Stay out of this Park Seonghwa. This doesn't concern you."
Their voices were raised to the point that a lot of people there were now looking over or whispering, wondering what all the commotion was about. Seonghwa chuckled sarcastically.
"Oh but you see, it does concern me cause..."
Taking 2 steps, he swiftly took Y/N's arm, pulling her close to him and wrapping an arm protectively around her.
"She's my girl." He declared.
Audible gasps were heard when he said that, a few females letting out either romantic "awwws" while others were fuming at this new information.
"Fucking knew it!" Yeosang declared, pointing a finger upwards as Jongho tried to stabilize him once again and shushing him.
Hyunjin looked surprised but then he laughed mockingly at him.
"Your girl? Do you actually mean a girl, or is she just another slut of yours that you're going to fuck and call it a night?"
Seonghwa grabbed Hyunjin by the collar and slammed him against the wall harshly, rage coursing through his veins.
"Say that again about her! I dare you to!" Seonghwa warned.
Hongjoong immediately stepped in and grabbed Seonghwa's shoulder.
"Seonghwa....this isn't the place-"
But he couldn't get his statement out because Hyunjin shoved Seonghwa off him, getting ready to fight.
"I'm not scared of you Seonghwa. So try me." Hyunjin threatened.
Y/N looked over and saw many people taking out their cameras, ready to film what was going to happen. Then she took in Hongjoong's and Jongho's worried looks. Realizing she did not want to see him get hurt, she stepped in between them, making Seonghwa look at her in confusion.
"Y/N move. I don't want you to-"
He stopped talking when she wrapped her arms around him, squeezing him tightly so he wouldn't move.
"Please don't do this. Please just don't..." She begged him.
Seonghwa opened his mouth to speak but ultimately didn't. His hands that were balled up into fists loosened themselves and moved to caress her lower back. He took a deep breath and began to calm down.
"Ok."
That was all he said as he unwrapped her arms from him, smiling down at her to make her stop worrying. He looked to Hyunjin one last time before threatening him:
"Don't ever let me hear you disrespecting her again or I'll bust your face open."
Seonghwa linked his hand with Y/N's and began pulling her away from there. Exiting the house, he guided her over to where he parked his car. Y/N fake pouted.
"No motorcycle tonight?" She asked in a whiny tone.
Seonghwa snorted. "If I remember correctly, you called it a 'death trap'".
"It is! But you know......makes you look even more attractive." She teased him.
Seonghwa pushed her up against the side of the car, his hands trapping her in between his body making her get flustered and look at him with widened eyes.
"Don't tease me or I won't be able to hold myself back. " He cautioned her.
He then moved her slightly away so he could open the door for her. He waited for her to get in before pacing over to the driver's side. Turning on the car, he swiftly pulled out of the driveway and started heading back to her house. They sat there quietly, unable to say anything. Seonghwa noticed how Y/N kept glancing over at him every once in a while.
"What's on your mind doll face?" He finally spoke up.
"Oh um....well that thing you said back there....at the party...." She mumbled out.
"I said a lot of things Y/N, you're going to have to be more specific." He looked at her momentarily before paying attention to the road again.
"The part where you said I was....your girl?" She said the last part very quietly.
When Seonghwa didn't respond for a while, she slumped her shoulders back, internally cursing herself for even bringing it up. She decided to just look out the window for the remainder of the ride. She didn't get it. Why was Seonghwa not answering her question? Did he not mean it? Was he going back on his word? Her mind began to swirl with all kinds of questions that she didn't notice that Seonghwa had already pulled in front of her apartment complex until he was clearing his throat.
"Hmm? Oh! Sorry. Thanks for the ride. I'll see you around."
She grabbed her purse and wanted to speed out of the car as fast as she could, but Seonghwa clutched her hand before she could move.
"Y/N wait!" He blurted out.
Taking off his seat belt, he turned to look at her.
"I didn't respond before because I wanted to talk about it calmly and with no distractions."
Y/N calmed down when he explained why he didn't immediately respond to her minutes before. Seonghwa looked down and took a deep breath before confessing:
"Y/N you know how I feel about you. From the beginning, I told you I liked you. I was attracted to you at first, but spending these two days with you, getting to know you even more..... I'm falling for you harder than I ever imagined I would..."
Gathering his courage, he looked up at her surprised face.
"I won't get my hopes up.... but it would honestly make me happy if you accepted to be my girl....make it official between us..... and actually start dating..."
He cringed at himself and the way he asked her. He for sure thought she would reject him.
"Seonghwa?"
Y/N's voice made him snap his head up.
"Yeah?"
"Do you mind getting out of the car?" She asked.
Her request puzzled him, but he did so nonetheless. He ran over to her side before she could even open the door, as he did it for her.
"Ok, why did you-"
He was cut off when Y/N grabbed the sides of his leather jacket and pulled his face down to hers, making him get his words caught in his throat. Y/N smirked at him.
"I thought you said you wouldn't hold yourself back if I teased you again?" She chuckled at his shocked expression.
Getting the hint, Seonghwa pulled her hands off him and held them in place.
"I'm not."
He closed the gap between them and cupped her cheeks as he kissed her tenderly, all of the feelings he had kept inside finally coming out in his kiss. Y/N pulled her hands out of his grasp and they went to the back of his head, running themselves through his hair as she kissed him back just as intensely.
Seonghwa pulled back briefly to ask.
"So....is that a yes or...?"
Y/N giggled and nodded yes before pulling him back in, this time kissing him even more passionately. Her hands moved to his arms that were clad with his leather jacket, yet she could still feel the muscles underneath the material. The thought of them exposed made her unconsciously bite down on Seonghwa's lower lip.
Moaning softly, Seonghwa pulled her off him once again.
"Ok ok, easy there kitten. If there's going to be tongue and second base involved, let me take you out on a date first." He joked, poking her nose.
"I thought you already did." She reminded him.
Seonghwa smiled. "Well then...how about a second date?"
Y/N hummed and thought about it. "Deal."
Seonghwa beamed with joy.
"Great then. I can't wait."

Y/N could feel the stares from some of her classmates, but she didn't care. Let them think and talk about whatever they wanted. She couldn't care to pay attention to them, let alone pay attention to what any of her professors were saying. All day long, she kept thinking about Seonghwa and about their date later tonight. It was the only thing keeping her from going insane during these boring Monday sessions.
As soon as the bell rang, she stuffed her books in her bag and strutted out the door. Her plan was to get home as soon as possible so she could shower and change as quickly as possible for their date. But those plans were crushed when she was met by a familiar head of black hair sitting by the benches outside. Catching sight of her, he got himself up and walked over to her, looking her up and down.
"Hello doll." Seonghwa winked at her.
"I thought you said you didn't have any classes today?" Y/N remarked.
"I didn't." Seonghwa affirmed.
"Then why are you here?" She questioned him.
Leaning in, he responded.
"Got impatient and couldn't wait to see my little kitten."
Not caring that others would see, he cupped her chin and softly kissed her. When he pulled back, he muttered a soft 'cute' at her pink cheeks. Taking off his leather jacket, he wrapped it around her.
"It's kinda chilly. Put it on."
Seonghwa held her books as she put on his clothing, chuckling when he saw it was definitely big on her. Linking their hands, he took her out into the parking lot.
"Oh my God! You seriously brought that?!" Y/N complained when she caught sight of his motorcycle.
"Get used to her babygirl, you're going to see a lot of her too." Seonghwa handed her a helmet.
Y/N huffed as she put on her helmet. "I swear to god, you like this thing more than me."
"Nope trust me, I like you a lot more. A lot." He insisted as followed suit and put on his helmet.
Seonghwa waited until Y/N firmly adjusted herself behind him, his heart jumping when she wrapped her arms around him once again.
"Tell me when it's over." Y/N shut her eyes, gripping him even tighter.
"Calm down doll, I won't let anything happen to you. After all.....
You're my girl."

Missing
There are seven holes. Seven. But they aren't seven different nests, they're tunnels, with seven openings to the surface of the Earth. You only know that because Eleven spent the whole night focused on finding them, seated in the living room of Joyce's place, a piece of fabric covering her eyes. The map from before remained on the floor beside her, and she reached out to draw where the tunnels reach. You barely had any sleep, just the pair of hours you slept with your head on Billy's shoulder, seated on the couch, but someone's voice woke you up.
Relief fills your heart when the morning comes. During the night, you could only think about those things lurking around. After a quick shower, and using one of Eleven's shirt, you go to the kitchen and decide to have breakfast there, where you can be alone. Eating a bowl of cereal, you run a hand through your hair, trying to understand how are you going back to the pool today and act like none of this is happening.
“Hey, princess,” Billy says, coming into the kitchen. Hair is still wet and wearing only his jacket. “Are you ok?”
“I'm trying to be.” Pushing the bowl away, you watch as he makes himself the same meal you had. “Wondering how am I going to work today.”
“Wanna stay here? I can tell Anthony that you're sick. If he even shows up.”
“No. It'll be worse if I stay.” You're confused, not sure what's the best or what's worse. But at least in the pool you'll have something normal going on.
“Hey, you two,” Joyce says as she comes in. Her voice gets your attention, and when you look at her after exchanging a glance with Billy, you see that Hopper is right behind her, arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed together. “How are you two doing?”
“Uhm... Good.” It sounds like a question. Joyce sits at the table, with Hopper standing behind her. He has the chief face on, and you have no idea why. “Everything alright? Are we in trouble or something?” Gesturing at you and Billy, and cross your legs, an eye on the clock because you'll still need to stop by home to get the swimsuit.
“No, of course not. It's just that the kids were talking about something and–”
“Are you two living together?" Hopper speaks up, swallowing Joyce's words. She gives him a hard stare, and there's some kind of conversation going on through facial expressions that you can't understand.
“Yes.” You answer, not sure why you're in this situation in the first place. You feel like you're having the talk with Diane all over again. Diane. You have to call her, just to make sure everything is alright. “Why?”
“There were some rumors running around that–”
“That Billy Hargrove got some chick pregnant.” Hopper again. But this time Joyce slaps his arm.
“We agreed you'd let me do this.” She whispers.
“Then just get to the damn point.” He snaps back.
With wide eyes, you look at Billy. He doesn't seem bothered by this, peacefully eating his cereal. There's a smile on his lips that he tries to hold back, but you know him far too well now. You can see it. He's having fun.
“Look, guys, Uhm... These rumors started after I fainted on the pool, but it was from heat exhaustion, so...” Deciding to just end whatever this is, you speak up, kicking Billy's leg and whispering to him. “Say something.”
“(Y/N), honey, do your parents know about that?”
This makes you laugh, but then you remember Joyce doesn't know about your relationship, or better saying, the lack of it. “No, and I don't plan on doing that. But my aunt Diane does.”
“And she allowed it?” Hopper takes his time pronouncing every word as if this is absurd. “You're lucky you're not my daughter.”
“Hopper, just...” Joyce mumbles, her voice fading. “We just wanted to make sure you guys are... You know... Going somewhere with this. Living together is something really big and important to do.”
“I'll only say two things.” Billy finally makes his presence known, getting up and throwing his bowl in the sink. “First of all, I'm planning on marrying (Y/N). Second, we better go now or we'll be late. Again.”
There's a weird buzz in your ears as Billy takes your hand and starts pulling you with him. Joyce and Hopper have wide eyes, mouth half-open, in shock. You're not that different, and all your body is able to do is keep following Billy outside and to his car. You're silently looking through the window as he drives, but you're doing that on purpose, just to get back at him for saying that out of the blue.
“Aren't you gonna say anything?” He asks parking in front of the house.
“Absolutely not.” Stepping out of the car, you don't wait for him, heading inside. “If you really wanna do what you said, I'll patiently wait until you propose, Hargrove.” Turning around just enough to wink at him, you bite back a smile.
You're quick to get ready and manage not to be late. The song is blasting when Billy pulls over on his parking spot, and the moment the song is gone, you hear the chattering, noticing three police cars.
Your heart skips a beat when you leave the car, taking a deep breath. “Hey,” Billy calls, taking your hand. “Let's check what happened before jumping to conclusions, ok?”
“Ok.” Holding his arm, you move to the entrance, where a small crowd gathers. Hopper is here, and by the messy way of his clothes, he had to run over here. He immediately notices you and Billy, a sad look on his face. And that's when you see Monica, running a hand through her hair, tears glistening on her cheeks.
“Mon?” Calling, you let go of Billy and runs to her. Monica breaks a little bit when she sees you, and you're quick to hug her. “Mon, what happened?”
“It's Jason. My cousin is missing, (Y/N).” She cries on your shoulder, and you close your eyes tight because the first thing that comes to your head is probably what got him. The Demodogs. “He went out yesterday to buy dinner a-and his mom called mine saying he was taking long and...” You pull away, holding her hands. “...that was early evening yesterday. And he's still missing. The family spent the whole night looking for him and–”
“Mon, I'm sure we'll find him.” It's hard to lie. It's even harder not to break down in front of her. “Maybe he felt bad and fainted or something like that. We'll find him.”
“I hope so.”
“I'll drive you home, ok? Billy can keep the pools safe for one day.”
When she nods, drying off some tears, you make your way over him, who's talking to Hopper. He probably already knows, but you try to keep a straight face.
“Come here, princess.” He opens his arms and you don't even hesitate, hugging him tightly. “I'm so sorry. But we'll find him. The party is already aware of everything.” Whispering on my ear, Billy places a kiss on the top of your hair.
“I...” Getting rid of the single tear that escaped your efforts to hold it back, you pull away. “I'll take her home, she's very shaken. Can you just keep an eye–”
“Keep an eye on the kids, of course.” He bends over to kiss you, and your arms, almost automatically, move to be around his neck. “I'll pick you up after work, ok? I love you.”
“I love you.” It still makes you blush to hear those words, but you absolutely love to say it back. After one last kiss, you part ways.
Monica talks as you drive to her place, sharing memories with her cousin. Some of them you already know, but you don't stop her, laughing and making silly comments, trying to keep her mind away from the fact that Jason is missing.
Your mind also starts remembering. Obviously, you didn't have all the time around Jason that Monica had, but he was one of the first people you met when you got here. He's always smiling, carrying his siblings around, always complaining, but always happy to be with them. Jason is funny, even when he's the only one who actually gets his jokes.
Jason is missing.
Demidogs need a lot of food. An almost 6 feet tall male human has a lot of meat.
Shaking your head lightly, you push these thoughts away. No breaking down now. Monica needs you strong, to keep her strong too. Her family is either at Jason's or still looking, so you're alone. Both of you stay seated on her bed, and you give her your shoulder when she starts crying again. He's gone for one night and she's already losing it... If anything bad happens...
Her parents return home a couple of hours later, thankful to you for taking her back home. You drag her into the living room, turning the TV on this random movie and trying to convince her to pay some attention. You can hear her parents in the kitchen, making lunch, but you also hear when her mother cries, the low, cracking voice as she talks to her husband. It's getting hard by the minute to stay here, pretending you don't know what probably happened, but if you cry, if you start doubting Jason is ok, Monica will break apart.
A knock on the door, an unusually loud and frenetic knock, gets your attention. Looking over your shoulder, you see as Monica's father goes to answer it.
“Hi. Is (Y/N) here?” You hear a feminine voice, and you soon recognize it's Nancy.
Excusing yourself, you get up. “Yes, she's–”
“Hey.” You go to the front door, seeing Nancy and two cars in the sidewalk, many eyes looking at you. “Something wrong?”
“Sorry, but we need you. Uhm... Maxine is sick. We need to have a doctor check on her.”
“What?” You exclaim, running a hand through your hair. “Mon.” Calling her, you quickly make your way back to the living room. “I'm so sorry, but Maxine is feeling ill, I have to go. But I promise I'll call you later, ok?”
“Sure. Go help.” She says, nodding and clearing her throat since her voice is all clouded by her crying.
“Stay calm, honey. Jason is alright, I'm sure.” Another lie. You shouldn't make promises you don't know if you can keep. Giving her a quick hug, you run outside, muttering a goodbye to Mon's father as Nancy does the same.
“We'll go looking for him.” She says in a low voice as you move toward the cars. “We don't stand still when shit happens.”
Her choice of words makes you raise your eyebrows. You never heard her saying anything like that. “Thanks.” Muttering, you seat shotgun in Steve's car as she goes to Jonathan's. There are four kids on the back seat, fighting for some more space. You're happy to see Max is alright. For a moment, you thought she was really sick.
You park in the woods, and there are already some people here. Everyone but Hopper, because he has to be in the official search party, and Billy. God, you wish Billy was here.
“Alright, let's do this,” Mike says, and he freely starts separating you in groups. “Eleven and Will with me. Lucas, Jonathan, and Robin. Uhm... Max, Steve, and (Y/N). Joyce–”
“Why are you messing up the groups, man. I wanna go with Max.” Lucas complains and Mike rolls his eyes. “Groups of four, as usual.”
“Since when?”
“Alright, just gather in groups, c'mon, guys,” Joyce says, eyeing both her kids until they go to stand by her side, alongside Nancy.
You move to stand with Max and Lucas, and after playing rock, paper, scissors with Robin, Steve comes to your group. You raise your eyebrows at him, trying to get why they had to use that method to choose a group. “Nobody wants to be with these two lovebirds.” He says when he's close enough.
“That's something I can understand.” There's no doubt Max and Lucas are into each other, but they're constantly fighting. It's funny to watch, actually.
“Let's get started then, guys. Be careful, pay attention to the radios, and let's find Jason.” Joyce announces, taking over Hopper's role in this.
And everyone starts moving, each group in a different direction. You're going to the holes first, just to check, and then you'll cover a specific area. Max and Lucas are once again responsible for the map and walk a couple of feet ahead.
“Hey. Take this.” Steve gets your attention, taking the bat from his backpack and handing it over to you. “I know Jason was a close friend of yours. Sorry this happened.”
“Yeah.” You lay the bat over your shoulder, careful not to entangle your hair in the nails. “I really thought it couldn't get any worse but life proved me wrong.”
“I remember when Will went missing. I was a total jerk back then so I didn't really care.” You glance over to Steve, and he has an apologetic look on his face. “They found the body and there was a funeral. But the body was fake and Will was fine in the end.”
“Someone should make a movie out of that story.” You mumble, taking a deep breath. “Do you think Jason could be in the... Upside Down?”
“No. According to Eleven, no portals were open. The Demodogs just made these woods into their new home and are doing what it takes to survive.” Through the corner of your eyes, you see when he almost slips, opening his arms slightly to regain balance. “Don't laugh.” He says, but you're already chuckling. “Anyway, wherever he is, he's here.”
“Why don't we tell Eleven to just use her powers and find him. Wouldn't it be easier?”
“These woods are huge. And we usually just do that when it's the last resource.” Lucas answers.
“We don't like pushing her. It always brings back sad memories.”
That's something you can understand perfectly. “We do it the old way then.” You've seen how complicated it is. Eleven's nose wouldn't stop bleeding while she was figuring out the tunnels, and after while blood came out of her ears too. As much as you want to find Jason, you'd never ask her or the party to do something just so you'd feel better. They're in it far longer than you, so you trust them to make the decisions and set the pace. “I just hope he's alright. He's Monica's cousin, and she's worried to death.”
“Yeah, I get that.” It doesn't go unnoticed how Steve doesn't make false promises as you did with Monica. He doesn't say he's ok, that you'll find him. Running a hand through your hair, you take a deep breath, confused between having hopes or just expecting the worse. “So, changing the subject.” He speaks again. “You and Hargrove. I never thought Billy would actually fall in love.”
A smile comes to your lips, and you're thankful for having something else to think about. “Yeah. It took a while for me to believe that but he... He worked hard.” Involuntary, your hand goes for the necklace, fingers playing with the earring.
“Joyce and Hopper were saying something about marriage...” It sounds like a question, and you give Steve a glance, giggling. “They were trying not to let anyone hear them but Hopper doesn't really know how to whisper.”
By the heat spreading through your cheeks, you know you're blushing. Could it be real? Would Billy marry you? Is he really considering such a thing? “We spoke about it, Uhm... Twice, I think. But not a real conversation, he just spilled it out.”
“Holy shit, he's going serious with you then.” He playfully elbows your arm. By what you've seen and by what Max told you, Steve usually grows protective of everyone since he joined the party, and you think it's cute. He's like everyone's babysitter. “Send me an invitation, would you?”
“I will.”
“You–”
Maxine's yell cuts him short, getting your attention as you notice you have fallen behind. Immediately, you and Steve start running towards then.
“Man, that's...” Lucas says as Max hugs him, eyes tightly shut.
You're about to ask them what the hell happened when you follow Lucas' scared stare.
It's a weird sensation when you're brain refuses to take in the information. When your eyes, focused on something, are blind. And your ears are deaf and the wind blowing doesn't touch your skin. It's like you're not there.
Jason's body is stuck between a big rock and a dead tree. His torso is opened up, and there's nothing inside.
As there's nothing inside Jason anymore. He's empty. Body and soul. There will be no laughter leaving his lips, no more jokes, no more arms to carry his baby siblings around. Nothing. Just flesh and bones, both ripped apart.
“(Y/N).” You're sure it's not the first time you hear someone calling your name, but you're not even sure where it comes from.
You only move when an arm pulls you, and you feel it around you. “We have to go. C'mon.” Steve says, and, far and distant, you hear static, and voices, coming from the radio. “(Y/N).”
“I need Billy.” It's the only thing that comes to your head, and you find a way to force the words out of your throat.
“Alright, let's go,” Steve says, and you're only set on motion because of his arm around your shoulders.
Everything is a blur. You notice people moving around, and some of them come to hug you as they start regrouping near the cars. Nodding and thanking their kind words, you remain silent, arms crossed, the image still burning in your brain.
Jason's rib cage broken open, the blood staining his clothes and the ground around him. His head twisted in an awkward way, neck probably disconnected from the body.
“Let's get moving. She wants to talk to Billy.”
“The pool will close in an hour. Take her home.”
“No, she's scaring me. We need to take her to Billy.” Max intervenes, and Steve pulls you to his car. You let Max seat shotgun, feeling better in the backseat where you can curl into a ball, knees pressed against your chest as the landscape passes by.
It reminds you the first time you saw that thing. You were trying to beat Billy, driving back to your place. Maybe, if you had gone to the police station the next day, let them know something was out there, you could've avoided this. But who would believe you? You didn't believe it either. What are you going to tell Monica? After saying things would be ok, that they would find Jason alive and well when you knew being out in the woods all night long probably meant he'd become Demodog's meal.
You knew it, yet you lied. Vain hope is the worst kind of hope, and that's what you gave her.
“(Y/N).” Steve gets your attention, touching your shoulder. “We're at the pool.”
Blinking a few times to wake up from the stupor, you bolt out of the car, making your way to the entrance. It's crowded today, but you don't see faces, you just see obstacles.
It finally starts kicking in.
You went to find Jason, and you did. But instead of the dear friend you so easily grew to love, you found a dead, empty corpse. The tears threat to overflow as you rudely bump into people, making your way through the pool. At a distance, you see the moment Billy finally notices the commotion, his eyes quick to find you. By the way his face changes, the way he takes off his sunglasses and jumps to the ground, shoving people out of his way, you must be looking terrible.
But you don't care. Billy is everything you need, the only thing you see and you know you can break down in his arms. You just need to reach him, and when you do, you collapse against his chest, not able to hold back the tears anymore, the sobs building up your throat as you hold onto him.
“I'm so sorry,” Billy mumbles in your ear. He knows. How could he not?
You suddenly feel him lifting you up, and you hide your teary face on the crook of his neck. Seconds later you're at the locker room, and Billy screams for the other girls to get out as he puts you down, seated on one of the benches.
“I'm so sorry, (Y/N).” He repeats, kneeled before you, thumbs coming to dry off some tears, just to make space for more.
“I saw him. H-he was all eaten, Billy. His body was-his body was wide open and everything was gone–”
“Stop, stop.” He begs, pulling you into a hug. “You don't have to tell me, not now.” Nodding, you take in his scent, feeling safe, secure, despite the terror creeping under your skin. “I'll take you home, ok?”
“No.” You mutter, pulling away just enough so you're foreheads are touching. You don't know what comes to you, but this has to be said. This feeling has to be let out. Not after, not tomorrow. Now. Maybe it's the fact that you saw death for the very first time. You just need to let him know “You're my home.”

I'm kind of with you on the lackluster Pilot episode of "The Perfectionists". I don't know whether or not I'm into it either. And not because of Emison (I'm more of an Emaya fan myself). I just thought it was cheesy and boring. I don't know if I should keep watching. What about you?
I have actually gotten several asks about whether I plan tokeep watching and why/why not. So I’m going to answer it here and just referback to it if it keeps coming up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t mind the asks at all. I love conversing, but because of the volume of asks about thisparticular opinion this is another long driveling post, and I’m sorry. You can mute my ass if you’re sick of me. I get it.
First of all OP, thank you for not ripping into me about notliking it. Also, Emaya had my heart. I loved them, too. Maya deserved better.
Second, this is a full-scale look at the show from a critic’svantage point. I watched the first episode twice because I thought maybe I hadn’tgiven it a fair shake the first time because I was in a weird mood. But even onthe second viewing I found a lot more that I disliked than I liked. Lots ofpeople are going to disagree, and that’s fine. Just don’t @ me. I’m legit notlooking for that. I’m just a girl (cue NottingHill music) standing in front her ask inbox asking those askers to love her.
Will I keep watching? I doubt it. Given that it only got a10-episode order and The Pilot wasn’t that interesting to me, I don’t see myselfsitting through it for 9 more episodes. My reasoning is two-tiered. Part of itis disinterest and the other part is the creative aspect of it in the media. Saddleup for my “truths” (I can’t remember who said that. Marlene maybe). I gave it afew days and considered it, and what I ended up with was this:
1) I’m just not into it. For the same reasons you (OP) stated. But I’ll also add that for me…it was predictable. I called the twists longbefore they happened. If I’m already doing that in The Pilot I can guarantee I’dbe doing that as the show went on. I’m like 93% sure I know exactly how it’sgoing to end this season. I tend to do that to myself. Being a writer suckssometimes. Because you see the way things are going to go from the beginning. You just have to decide if you want to go on the journey anyway.
2) While the characters were likable (I was surprised by howmuch I liked Ava), they are a bit one-sided and kind of bland (except I foundNolan’s duality extremely intriguing). There is the argument that can be madehere that they will grow, and I do agree with that. But when I watch a show’sPilot I need to care about at least one character to see what’s going to happenand where they are going to go (In PLL it was Em/Aria for me). None of the characters in TP did that for me (noteven Mona and Alison, which surprised me, because I’ve been super-hype for thisshow not only for them, but for the newbies, too).
3) The plot (so far) just feels like a rehash of everysingle YA mystery novel/TV show that is hot right now. And I am aware that thisis based loosely on exactly that (Sara’s series), but I think maybe I’ve justbecome desensitized to the same cheesy soap-opera-y murder mystery plots. Or perhaps I’m just desensitized to this particular kind of storytelling. It doesn’tfeel new and different to me and it was very strangely paced with too muchgoing on and not enough time to care about it. It just felt disjointed. Everythingabout the first episode just fell flat for me.
4) And lastly, yes, I’d say there is a tiny part of me…likemaybe…6% that doesn’t want to watch because I’m not about that off-screenEmison drama. I knew it was going to happen and I’m not mad about them beingsplit. I’m disappointed (hears “that’sjust ‘mom speak’ for mad!” echoing somewhere) that the marketing team isusing it for ratings. When you have decent writing you don’t need to play games like that to try andget viewers. It would be one thing to be decisive about what happened toEmily/Alison (Split them. Don’t split them. I don’t care. Just make a fuckingdecision because you’re creating a war between fans and you know it). It’sanother thing entirely to draw it out because you need people to watch and talkabout it.
I am also particularly bothered by hearing the excuse (several times by MK) that “Shay was busy”because Marlene literally planned the spin-off in season 6 (confirmed by bothher and Sasha). It. Was. Planned. I say this as a critic and not an Emison fan: Everything about the way they’ve tried to use Emison to generate buzz was underhanded. And saying shit like that opens the door for people to hate on Shay, and that’s really not cool.
Personally, I think it speaks volumes that the producers felt the need to addthe off-screen drama on top of the really decent plot they already had. Theycould have kept it unproblematic with simple writing choices and less inflammatorycommentary. They could have left the PLL drama in the PLL-verse and given thespotlight to the new drama. I don’tagree with creating old off-screen drama with zero chance of satisfactoryresolution all in the name of ratings. I hate marketing shit like that. It’s acheap amateur tactic and it turns me off.
I think the show could have been something special had theynot marketed it as PLL. But they did, so of course there was a certainexpectation. And of course there is some backlash. Because there are these twoworlds that have nothing to do with each other and so far I don’t feel likethey’ve blended it together well. For me, it was like watching PLL, but with less magic and less chemistry. If I had to describe it I’d say it feels alot like a recipe where you’re just throwing a bunch of ingredients into a bowlwith no idea what you’re making and you’re just hoping it’ll be edible by theend. Rather than focusing on the new universe the marketing team chose to focuson Ali/Mona’s new world and the drama that comes with them. And to me that almost says they don’t have faith that TPwould have been able to stand on its own without the PLL universe. Part of methinks I’d be more interested if this had been a completely fresh start. I wasactually more compelled by the newbies than I was Alison/Mona (though I adorethem, too).
That being said, I really wish the best for the cast/crew. I’llcontinue to watch the behind the scenes games/cast antics. I’ve been a fan ofSasha since I discovered PLL (everything about her seems very sweet and genuine andjust positive all around). And Janel as Mona was one of my favorite castingchoices of all time. In fact, I think my very first PLL post here was praisefor Janel. I’ve been following Sydney since she was a smol lil bean on theDisney Channel (and loved her in Tia’s Mowry’s show “Instant Mom”). Sofia seemslike a sweet girl, and I have enjoyed her other work. And Eli honestly justseems like he’d be a cool dude to kick back and have a drink with (is he evenold enough to drink? Jesus, they’re all babies). I love them all. In fact, I’veenjoyed the fun behind the scenes stuff more than I enjoyed the show. I’dwatch a reality show of them all day. That’s where I’ll get my fill. Watching them being goofy.
Final verdict: No, the show will not be getting my views. I’llprobably just watch the absurdity of Riverdale instead. Cheryl is fucking wild,y’all. And I’m kind of living for mean-dark-snarky Betty. And Sweet Pea is like…myfavorite character ever. My dumb asshole child.
As far as whether or not youshould watch it, I have no idea. I have a lot of people asking me my opinion onthat (which, I’m like the worstperson to ask, please don’t give me that responsibility. I don’t even likebeing responsible in the real world. I literally had a cookie and Cocoa Puffsfor dinner). I will say that if you’re only watching for Emison then I’d changethe channel. Because guaranteed it’s just going to make you rage. You’re not going to get anything out of it. Fill yourevenings with something more pleasant and positive for you.
And be nice to others on social media. At the end of the day, it’s only a show. You like it or you don’t.

This is probably going to be a weird ask but after watching your gifs of OabTay I was wondering what you would think their dynamic would be if they were in a drama as a couple? What do you think or want their story line to be like? What type of character do you think would suit each other? I'm sorry for asking but omg their moments are just quite something lol
That’s not a weird ask at all, my answer might weird you out though.I haven’t seen too many interactions between OabTay, so this is far from an educated guess as to how their personalities are…
Oab in my books is quite a good actor, so I’d like to see something with more depth than a romcom. I think both are suited for romantic roles, but I’m in need for a good series that’s not only centered around a romance.(recent series have however shown me how they can still fail at making something simple like a nice gay romcom).
I want them to do either some action or suspense series together.
1. Scenario: Action
Oh god, I fear this is going to degenerate to fanfiction level, apologies in advance
I want Oab to be some kind of mechanics/ engineering student who’s quite experimental and always on the brink of being expelled because he puts all his effort into tinkering gadgets and not taking tests. His personality would be close to his real-life personality (?): playful, likes to tease, competitive but gets the job done (wow. this is really profound orz).
Tay has some mundane part time job at a small out-of-town zoo. He has mood swings, is responsible-minded but a little bit lazy and easy going. He didn’t go to uni so he cannot take on a better job, but he likes animals. His parents own a car repair shop and this is the place Oab gets his tools/ parts for whatever he’s making. They don’t really interact but Tay’s parents adore Oab. Especially his mom who has a knack for tinkering herself (who are these people??).
I don’t know what’s happening exactly, but they get involved in some chase and find themselves in the countryside with no mobiles, so now they have to put their talents together to survive and outwit the people who are involved in the scheme (that’s shrouded in mystery here, because I have no idea what it could be).
There will be constant bickering and even though Tay usually is easy going and enjoys to tease people, he has to be the responsible one for once because for Oab everything is just a big, fun adventure where he can build crazy bikes. To get Oab to finally listen to him, Tay will try and kiss him without warning only to have Oab go with the flow. So, Tay will angrily make out with Oab, who enjoys it.
Alternate: Science-fiction
Same set-up, but by some nefarious scheme all citizens get transported to an alternate reality and get put in a part of the country they’ve never been to. Oab and Tay wake up in the countryside (mountainous and rain foresty) respectively and after fending some time on their own, they meet each other. Same spiel where they have to work together to survive, only this time the goal is to find a way out of the alternate reality. Maybe the tone is a little bit more serious as they challenge questions about what is real, if you have to feel guilty about not rescuing a person in the alternate reality and what if you find that the alternate reality suits you better than your real life etc. Same character traits.
2. Scenario: Suspense
Now, for this one I want them to have very different characters (not that the first scenario is anywhere close to their real-life personalities…).
Oab is a contract killer and a really bad person (I want to see him in a messed-up role), but he knows how to work his charm even when he’s dead inside.
Tay works in a high security lab, when a dangerous substance goes missing which is rumored to get used in an attack against some company (wow! the details!). The lab doesn’t want to draw attention and only feeds half-truths to the police and instead sends Tay on the hunt for the thief. Seems like a bad move, as Tay is not trained in anything remotely close to detective’s work, but they have no other option and at least Tay has the most knowledge about the substance. (I don’t think Tay’s a bad actor, but I’m not convinced he could pull off a villainous role to the same degree as Oab…*side-eyes Pete*) Tay is an average lab scientist, who’s a little bit shy but nice to everyone. During the events he’s seemingly terrified by everything, especially Oab, but there’s also something unsettling in how he reacts to some situations.
Mysteriously no one knows who could’ve had access to the lab + none of the employees are missing. The company that’s the supposed target of the attack contracts Oab to find the person or group that has the substance and take them out.
Thus, Tay and Oab cross paths and work both with and against each other. Tay is appalled by how sick Oab is, but has not much of a choice as he can’t find any leads. Oab initially only wanted to use Tay for intel but something feels a little bit off about Tay, so he lets him stay in his vicinity for a little bit longer. There’s a lot of tension between them, Oab is working his charm. But as the viewer you scream yes and no!!! as soon as there’s a spark because Oab has no redeeming qualities. Maybe it’s an open end and Oab takes out the target but is never sure (like the viewer) whether Tay wasn’t really the mastermind and only trying to get in Oab’s way.
Alternate (if Oab is too messed up for you):
Some supernatural happenings occur as well and while Oab slowly realizes he can be terrified by some things, Tay is surprisingly chill about those unexplainable and horrifying events and now has the job to sooth the contract killer, so that he can find the target. (which will turn this in more of a horror-comedy)
I hope this answers your question. Thank you so much for asking, I (obviously) had a lot of fun letting my imagination run wild and this was the perfect excuse to transform into high-school me and write bad fanfiction again. Also congratulations if you’ve endured until this point! ^^

You know I'm a sucker for Angelbbys! May I please request -- Chara: Gadreel Thing: Flowers Color: Blue
Hope you enjoy
Word count: 683
Tags/Warnings:  Implied depression, Gad being sweet and endearing.  Fluff.
Tags below the cut - anyone not wanting to be tagged for celebration drabbles, just let me know!
“What’s the matter, dear one?”
You sighed.  Gadreel’s presence was as welcome as it was unwanted at the moment.  It wasn’t that you didn’t actually want to see the angel.  It’s just that you weren’t really in the mood to see anyone.
“I don't feel well, Gad,” you told him, hoping his tendency to be overly thoughtful and polite would lead him to excuse himself.
Instead, you found him creeping closer to you, his head tilting slightly as he looked you over.
“What ails you?”
You didn't have the energy or the fortitude to try and explain what you were feeling.  It wasn't like anything specific had happened.  Everyone you knew was alive and well.  You had a decent enough job.  You had friends.  You just… weren't feeling it - anything - in your life right now.
“It’s not an ailment, Gad,” you responded, and you almost winced at how snappy you sounded.
His brow furrowed, your curtness simply a piece of the puzzle as he tried to ferret out what it was that was wrong.  “I don’t understand.  If you do not feel well, certainly something must be afflicted.”
Something was afflicted alright.  Unfortunately, it was nothing his grace could just swoop in and fix.
The longer Gad stared at you, the more concerned he looked, and you realized the only way you were going to get him to leave was if you asked him to.  Even in your less than stellar state, it wasn’t something you were willing to do.
You took a deep breath, running a hand through your hair as you tried to find the words to explain to him what was happening.
“I feel like the entire world is blue right now,” you finally said.  It was wholly inadequate and oversimplified, but it was the best you could do.
He blinked, and you felt his grace wash over you as if checking to make sure you really didn’t have anything wrong with your eyesight.
This was exactly why you should have angel proofed your place the moment you felt the mood hitting.
The seconds stretched on into an uncomfortable silence.  You glanced down at your hands, nervously twisting one of the rings you were wearing, unsure of what else to say.
“You are unhappy,” he realized. You glanced up, surprised by his understanding. Perhaps you had misjudged his capabilities and insight into human sentiments.
“Yes,” you confirmed.  “I just… I don't know why.”
He nodded.  You weren't sure if he really got it, but he clearly accepted it without question.
“I am sorry.”
For someone who struggled to understand, he looked and sounded more sincere than most people did when you talked to them about these things.  He took your face into his hands, his thumbs tenderly brushing along your cheeks.  He placed a soft kiss against your forehead, before drawing you against his chest, and your heart fluttered out of rhythm, wild in comparison to the slow, steady beat of his.
“May I comfort you?” He asked.
“You already are, Gad,” you told him.
“My request was unclear,” he amended.  “May I show you something that may help improve your mood?”
You nodded, your previous resistance melting away beneath his touch and attention.
“Close your eyes,” he instructed, and you did as you were told.
The world rushed briefly around you before lurching to a sudden stop.  You uncertainly opened your eyes, blinking against the sudden brightness of the sun.  You brought your hand up to shield yourself from the light, and as your eyes adjusted you found yourself drowning in a sea of blue.
You turned in a slow circle, breathless, as every variation of the color existed in vast, unending fields of petals.  Row upon row of flowers bloomed across the landscape, stretching out as far as you could see.
“Do you like it?” Gadreel asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“It’s beautiful,” you marveled.
“Blue can be heartbreaking, but it can also be magnificent,” he reminded.
As you gazed up into the vibrant, crystalline depths of his gaze, you found just how right he was.
