Avengers Portal Scene But With More Heroes (2019)
This is a FAN-MADE conceptual video made purely for fun. This is not a real video, nor is it intended to be. This was simply made to show how a film idea could look. I do that by using clips from various productions and transforming them to create something unique. To do that I use visual effects, hire professional voice artists and overlay images. This was not made to fool anyone. It is simply a video for fans to take a glimpse into what a movie could be like. No money was made from this video.

The professional wrestling industry has had its ups and downs in the past few decades, but it seems like only recently that Hollywood has taken further notice of the sports entertainment world. That is especially true since the height of Hulk Hogan and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
RELATED: The 5 Best & 5 Worst Movie Roles Played By Popular Wrestling Superstars
Wrestlers have been known to turn their talents to acting in the past, but there were only a few TV shows and movies that were actually based upon the industry itself. With Netflix starting to create their own biographical dramas of wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and superstars like The Rock commissioning their own series, there are plenty of compelling stories about professional wrestling to check out on screen.
10 Heels (2021)
Tumblr media
It's difficult to say too much about the latest Starz project as it hasn't actually been released yet. However, Heels is a highly anticipated show that both mainstream audiences and hardcore fans of wrestling will likely want to check out. The series is led by Stephen Amell, who has found his first ongoing role since hanging up the hood.
Plenty of big names from the industry are set to make an appearance in the show, including long-time friend to Amell, the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, and the iconic CM Punk. The series will see two brothers fight over their late father's own wrestling promotion, with Amell portraying the 'heel' of the company. Considering Amell's past in wrestling and his love of the sport, it feels like the show is in good hands.
9 Young Rock (2021-)
Tumblr media
The Rock has been the most successful wrestler to have turned to acting in the industry, with the movie star having a long list of hits to his name already. The latest addition to his filmography though is something far more personal; a series about his own life.
NBC's Young Rock was an opportunity for Dwayne Johnson to put some of his own experiences to screen. The series explores his childhood growing up in the famous Anoa'i wrestling family and as the son of Rocky Johnson and his rise in the industry he has become so synonymous with.
8 Nacho Libre (2006)
Tumblr media
Moving from the fictional and the biographical to something far more comedic, Nacho Libre is one of Jack Black's most celebrated movies. From its unbelievably wacky quotes to a star performance from Black himself, the movie is well regarded for its contributions to the genre.
RELATED: 10 Times Movies Utilized Wrestling To Perfection
While it may be a great comedy film, it might not be a good representation of the wrestling industry itself. The portrayal of wrestling throughout the film is somewhat flawed and heightened beyond reality. With the sympathetic story of the monk Nacho trying to find a place in the world of Lucha Libre, the film thrives when the audience doesn't take it too seriously.
7 GLOW (2017-2019)
Tumblr media
Netflix's GLOW was a highly regarded series from both the wrestling industry itself and the audience who have come to love these characters. Its cancellation was met with shock from both fans and the cast alike, but what will endure is the legacy that has been built from just 3 seasons.
From the representation of the wrestling lifestyle itself to the portrayal of its era and the political and sexual issues that were relevant at the time, GLOW was a series about athletes struggling to work together and overcome their own personal struggles to create a compelling show. Its characters, storylines, and production all brought with it genuine authenticity.
6 The Wrestler (2008)
Tumblr media
When talking about movies based around professional wrestling, it's difficult to ignore the award-winning performance of Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. Of course, Rourke himself was supported by an unbelievable cast including estranged daughter Evan Rachel Wood, and Marisa Tomei in particular becoming underrated in her own role as friend and love interest Cassidy.
The story is all about redemption, as a washed up wrestler struggles to pay the bills, deal with his own health and rise back to the top of the industry he loves too much. It's a moving tale and the pinnacle of storytelling in wrestling.
5 ¡Mucha Lucha! (2002-2004)
Tumblr media
¡Mucha Lucha! was a fun, American-Mexican comedy animated series that was aired on Kids' WB, Canal 5, and Teletoon. The show was an over the top portrayal of Lucha Libre wrestling, with each of the characters featuring their own gimmicks and respective superpowers.
RELATED: 10 Real-Life Wrestling References Made On GLOW
The show ran for four seasons and was a real hit, even boasting a movie in 2004. While plenty of famous wrestlers have taken their talents into the voice acting world, there were no major cameos in the show. The series instead focused on leaning heavily towards the kids market, becoming a success in terms of capturing the imagination of young animation fans.
4 Wrestling Isn't Wrestling (2015)
Tumblr media
Wrestling Isn't Wrestling is a short comedy and documentary that aired on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. The creator pulled in a number of larger stars to make small cameos alongside the actors credited with representing iconic wrestling moments from real life.
While Adam Savage and Macaulay Culkin amongst others may have been a great draw for the project, its real brilliance was its representation of Triple H's career and how wrestling is about just about everything except ironically wrestling itself.
3 Fighting With My Family (2019)
Tumblr media
Another award-winning movie to add to the pro-wrestling filmography, Fighting With My Family is a fictional representation of the true story of the wrestler known as Paige. Growing up in Norwich England, Saraya-Jade Bevis was born into a wrestling family.
She learned from a young age before fulfilling her dream and making her way to NXT and the WWE in America, eventually winning the top title for women. The Stephen Merchant project enlisted the help of The Rock in the role of producer (and to make a small cameo) and rising star Florence Pugh puts in an emotional and comedic performance as the superstar Paige.
2 The Main Event (2020)
Tumblr media
Netflix's The Main Event won't be for everyone, but for any younger viewer who has a love for the WWE, this film may be exactly what they're looking for. Made in conjunction with World Wrestling Entertainment, the movie tells the story of a young boy who finds a magic mask.
He uses it to make his way to the WWE with the film building up to a huge title fight. Wrestling cameos and exciting action aside, there's something quite pure about this project which pays tribute to its genre, becoming a perfect story for the whole family to enjoy.
1 Dark Side Of The Ring (2019-)
Tumblr media
Dark Side Of The Ring is a series of documentaries created by VICE, which falls under their criminal investigation titles. The aim of these factual films is to shine a light on some of the most notorious and controversial moments in wrestling history, as well as uncovering the truth behind shocking criminal actions.
The docu-series deals with a number of heavy issues in the most honest way possible, including the tragedy of the Benoit family, the death of Owen Hart and the murder of  Bruiser Brody. These deep investigations see the most important parties involved with the events interviewed and tries its best to put as many facts on the table as possible.

Nacho Libre
Tagging: Jo Fabray and Fauna Flanagan @faunaflanagan
Date: September 10
Bingo: Lucha Libre (Jo), Bark at the end of each sentence (Fauna)
Summary: Worst Wrestling Match Ever.
Jo wasn't sure if she'd ever felt more ridiculous in her life.  She truly wasn't even sure if the scene they were doing was going to get her anywhere close to a blackout - but even if it didn't, it was good to know she was helping Fauna fill up her own card as well.  That didn't, however, make her sparkly wrestling outfit and mask feel any less silly as she stood in the gym's boxing ring.  They'd drawn a crowd, and she couldn't help but laugh as she looked across at Fauna.  "I'm going to have to crush you," she announced - in her regular voice.  She was not going to do a Spanish accent because that would only end in horror.
Fauna honestly was just beyond grateful that Jo was willing to help her with this particular square. She’d worn a cute little leotard to match her mask for this square and she too avoided a Spanish accent because god Irish and Spanish did not mix. “No Miss Fabray I am going to crush you woof!” She declared circling the blonde a little with a giggle.
The barking made the entire scene even funnier, and as they circled each other it was all Jo could do to keep from breaking down and falling to the mat in hysterical giggles.  "You have no chance, barking lass," she announced, running toward the ropes and then back at Fauna with her arm extended.  With the girl's height, though, Jo revised her plans and purposely missed the shot by aiming it over her head.  In the most cartoonish manner she could think of, she hit the ropes on the other side and bounced backward, falling to the mat.
Fauna wasn't sure what was funnier, this scene with Jo or the Willy Wonka themed roleplay that she had completed with Tina earlier. "We'll see about that woof!" Fauna responded and dramatically ducked as the girl came towards her, when Jo deliberately missed she pretended to wobble and then dramatically lose her balance falling onto the floor. "See you will never catch me, woof!" She declared.
"Oh, you'll be mine, barking lass.  No one runs from the blonde bomber for long!"  Jo rolled to her feet and headed for the corner, climbing the ropes until she was standing on top.  Hilariously, the crowd that had gathered perked up, as if they hadn't seen every goofy thing that had already happened, and Jo gestured for Fauna to come and pull her off - it would send her sprawling into the middle of the ring and leave her laying in a heap, and it could all be done safely and easily.
It was probably a fun little break for people that they were doing a scene that didn't involve any kind of graphic sex, and so instead of feeling embarrassed fauna just decided to enjoy herself. The submissive headed over and pulled Jo from where she was, sending them both tumbling and holding back yet more giggles. "Are you sure you're on top of things woof?" She asked, daring Jo to flip her a little.
Jo tucked her head a little as she came down from the ropes, the mat thudding under them as they both landed in a pile of limbs.  There was a collective groan from around them, and people seemed to be actually getting into the match.  "I'm not, right this second..." she grinned, flipping Fauna over and pressing her shoulders to the mat.  A count of three would be enough to end the match, but she wanted to leave the decision of whether to do more to Fauna.
Fauna did let out another laugh after their collective groan, it was too funny not to giggle even a little bit. "Rats! Woof." The girl declared as the Domme pinned her in return. It seemed apt to let the Domme be the winner so she pretended to uselessly struggle beneath her while the crowd around them counted to three. "No, no.. I've been defeated woof!" She cried uselessly.
The roar of the crowd - well, the dozen or so around them at least - actually made the whole thing better, and Jo jumped to her feet.  She ran to each corner of the ring, lifting an imaginary belt in one hand and drinking in the applause before coming back to Fauna and offering a hand to help her to her feet.  "You were a gracious opponent, barking lass.  But now that you've been defeated, I must take your mask."
Fauna did laugh when Jo began running from one side of the ring to the other, because it looked hilarious and this whole scene had been so much fun. She even gave the Domme a little bit of a round of applause, before taking the hand that she was offered to help her up. "I understand blonde bomber, I graciously accept defeat." The brunette responded, gesturing for the Domme to take her mask.
Gently, avoiding catching her hair in the mask, Jo eased it off and held it out to the crowd for one more round of applause before turning and giving Fauna a hug.  "Darlin', you were amazing.  That was the silliest thing I've ever done in front of people, but thank ya for makin' it so fun!"
Fauna was a little sweaty from the activity but she easily gave the other girl a hug. "Thank you for helping me out Miss, I had no idea how I was going to find someone to do that scene with me but you actually made it super fun!" The little brunette replied with a smile.
“I’m so glad!” Jo beamed.  “Y’all were a great partner.  And I’m real happy we could turn such a weird space into something fun.  We’ll have to play again one day soon.”  Turning to the crowd, she held up Fauna’s hand.  “One more round of applause for the barking lass!”  Jo waited for it and let Fauna’s hand go.  “Take care, darlin’, and talk to y’all soon.”

Busy bees all around and running out of gas
Holy moly rounding out the rest of the week at #MommySchool was a peek into the challenges ahead.  Working from home was introduced during the latter part of the week in addition to the need to homeschool/occupy and I found myself running out of gas.
Before I give you a glimpse into how Thursday and Friday went for our institution of higher learning and inspiration, I have decided to give you some ideas on how to keep yourself- the adult in the household- busy.
Merriam-Webster breaks down the definition of “busy” into multiple perspectives, I, however, will focus plainly on:
1.) adj. engaged in action: occupied
I found myself diving into the whole teacher school-thing and thinking to myself while he was working... “Hey! What about me!?! What should I do?” (I also have the added hiccup of a visitation to his father’s house this weekend. My nerves are all around so staying “occupied” was essential).
SO why not fully dive into landscaping to pass the time?!? Completely straighten the playroom and organize all matchbox cars appropriately. (Am I going insane already?!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are some takeaways from MY Week #1
**Disclaimer- This is in NO WAY the right thing to do to occupy yourself. I just found this naturally occurring**
O- ORDER-- “Let’s see what Amazon can help with.” “Hmmm... Target delivers groceries?!?” “I really don’t want to leave the house.” “We are supposed to be trying to keep the economy clicking right?” “OMG He read that book so fast!” “Gonna need another one.” “RIGHT?!?”
C- CLEAN-- “No better time than now to make sure all our condiments haven’t expired in the fridge.” “Hhmmm... looks like there was a spill on the one shelf.” “You know what... time to disassemble and disinfect the entire thing.” “HOW’S YOUR MATH COMING?!?”
C- COOK-- Survival mode at it’s fullest. “If I made homemade waffles, I can freeze the leftovers...” “Soups are your friend.” “Carbs make everyone happy.” “Oh god, gym class needs to step it up a notch with those cookies we just made.”
U- UNITE-- One of the best moments of my week was when we touched base with the outside world. Zoom is a miracle worker. ClassTag is keeping the kids together. Oh and that life saving thing called FaceTime will keep the world sane. I had a co-worker “happy hour” which was THE MOST therapeutic adult activity I could have ever had. I had two work related calls which just made me feel normal again for a few hours- which also led to more things to keep me “occupied” - WIN! And when all else failed with #MommySchool we Facetimed with our friends... you know... heard actual voices... saw actual faces- a wonder drug!
P- PREP-- Everything from more #mommyschool ideas, listing how to possibly start throwing work into the mix next week, food for the next meal, writing out what type of items should be my top ten to get through this. I fell into these rabbit holes... DON’T DO IT if you can’t handle the sheer thoughts.... Click at your own risk. ... Are you sure?!  and I’m Sorry!
Tumblr media
I- INSPIRE-- So, I kid around a lot. I am a bit of a sarcastic mess but at the end of the day my heart is big. I don’t toot my own horn- ever- I just try and do what I do and move on. That being said, even writing this portion is hard for me... but I think it is important to try and inspire others around you- some how. No matter how big or small- don’t gloat and try and one up, but just do what you do and be proud of it. A big part of this- what you are reading- is my way of trying to keep us all hopeful and get out of this- together. Inspire with ideas, suggestions, actions and words of wisdom. We all have them and it’s time for us all to shine.
E- EDUCATE-- I think one of my more current... or past-life... concerns for myself has been my inability to learn something new- Well no better time than the present. Pick up a book. Download a book. Read or listen to the news (I can not promise this will make you feel smarter). Find a Podcast of your choice and simply try to just get better at being you.
D- DDDRRRRRRIII....... You know, you guys- NO! That was not what I was going to say! DRIVE was my last word....:::sigh:::... geez. I think this is all a very sobering time for all of us no matter what we do. With that, trying to stay driven- keep motivated and understand the bigger picture in all of this is essential. Often this week, despite my lofty goals to be this force for my son that kept him in line and on task I wanted to sleep in. I wanted to say- ehhh it is definitely gloomy out we should just stay in- I stopped and remembered what my driving force was. Week 2 is quickly approaching. I have a million things to get better at this upcoming week and the only thing that will allow me to do that is managing myself and my will to get through this stronger. I thought this was a good list to start with to help develop a motivation strategy. I think we can all agree the end goal is to get through this without losing our minds, but you may have other personal goals you want to succeed at while you have the time and focus- so I thought I would share.
SOOO How did the week end out at #MommySchool...?
DAY #4
Not my finest moments. I was definitely tired and had some work phone calls bring this deserted island back to reality for a bit.  Luckily, my son is a rockstar and gave me the time I needed to get my things done and we had the added bonus of some video touch bases from his class to brighten the day up. This was very much a Wingin it Thursday.  Yoga from the day before was a hit so it stayed apart of our day- and today’s project was to start his own comic book series. Pot of Lentils for the win! Got some scooter action in when we were able to get outside.
GYM CLASS: The kid wanted to run. So we ran parking spots. Jogs, sprints. Forward. Backward. Not sure it will be requested again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DAY #5
FINAL PUSH for the week!
I found out the day before that we would not be receiving assignments from the teacher for this day because it was a previously scheduled Pro. Dev. Day. So - can you believe it... I had to figure out the entire day with no help! I know!!
SO I made a final push. This day would be dubbed Fiesta/Fitness/Freaky Friday. (It evolved from a single focus fluidly). This was the hardest day yet emotionally but we regrouped after lunch. (Is it possible to do too much? Yup!)
The day had a ton of Latino/Fiesta Music playing all day.  Lunch was Mexican related- quesadillas and chips and salsa. We made a pinata out of a box and glue and construction paper. Nothing fancy- but fun. We made a luchador mask, as my son loves the movie Nacho Libre.
Freaky-related: It was super foggy when we woke up so we rushed out of the house to walk the neighborhood in it.  Then my son wanted to wear his stuff backwards on our real walk to school after breakfast.
Fitness-related: We had some Gym class videos to catch up on for the week. Man it got sweaty! (It was also a weird 75 degrees outside). Yoga, PE videos and then he created a new game outside. “Kickball 2″.
Kickball 2 Needs: One soccer ball, one baseball tee (or something to prop ball on) try and kick ball to or over the fence. Hits the fence= 1 point, over the fence = anywhere from 3points and up depending on how impressed he is.  Goal is to be the first person to 10 points ( or more if you like).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just for the record... I do always try to make these short and sweet. I’ll work on that for next week.  Good luck and stay healthy and OCCUPIED out there! 😉
