i really want a thread where johanna can celebrate (in her own johanna way) getting her period back. it’s an important part of her recovery and her internalized misogyny really impacts her relationship with it (plus the victorian view being very victorian) but she can be excited that she’s getting better :(

the wishlist right now is anger. the barkers pass it along to each other through their blood. johanna grew from a lonely little girl into an angry adult. she is angry at turpin for ripping away her identity before she even got to figure out who she is. she is angry at her father for abandoning her for blood. she is angry at herself for letting it all happen. let me write her angry.
