I really want to watch Korra and enjoy it, but every time I start it, they give the quick backstory of republic city and i literally cannot get past it

#I watched a lot of it as a teen when it was airing #and I enjoyed it #but now I just AGH #and it’s like. Personal problems #and I knowwwww they delve into how republic city happened in the comics and I knoww from a logic perspective #it makes sense #but from a story perspective #you cannot convince me air NOMAD victim of genocide AANG #helped found a /city/ #In contested lands (I.e fire controlled and colonized but previously earth kingdom) #idk it just feels. Antithetical to his character in a way that feels like petting a shark backwards to my brain #same thing with aang being a bad dad #or rather /how/ he was a bad dad #Idk if any of this makes sense #anyways I’ve never watched it all in order #and I would like to #but it literally feels like whatever the reverse feeling of having a fixation is whenever I try #(I like korra tho.
