azzy i admire your attempt at narrowing it down for me. but i'm just gonna answer all the questions i can with iris from who cried wolf, because i kinda miss her

microscope: zoom in – describe the little, insignificant details about an oc.

always has plants in her pockets, be it dry or not, leaves and flowers and sometimes pine cones. her cheeks always look like they're blushed from the cold. says she doesn't get cold but in reality she just wears the same comfy jacket all the time so yeah, technically she's never cold.

fragrance: what does your oc smell like?

old wooden house, pine trees, petrichor.

photo album: describe one of your oc’s favourite memories.

one time she fell asleep out in the forest, no regard for safety. sure it gave her dad a heart attack but iris enjoyed watching the forest before falling asleep not through her window but laying right at the centre of it.

mixtape: 5 songs that describe your ocs or songs they themselves would like.

wardrobe: what’s your ocs style like?

very often a shirt-jeans convo with boots because she likes being able to go hiking at any given moment if the opportunity arises. a lot of baggy button-downs, whatever a typical thrift store clothes look is then that's iris. her staple is a thick dandelion yellow oilskin.

lightning: who’s the most impulsive character? and who is their impulse control?

iris is the impulsive character. doesn't really have someone who's her impulse control because her response to someone trying to stop her is to step on the gas.

ufo: identity! what are some key identifying qualities or traits of your ocs? how to they identify in regards to gender/sexuality?

iris is the loudest of the main three but she's far from the most social, she's a loner by nature. maree and winnie have extracurricular clubs and whatnot, but iris prefers her small circle of friends. calls herself a brat and very much is. *john mulaney voice* iris is a bitch and i love her so much. in the nonbinary spectrum, uses she/they pronouns, demi/ace.

poison: vices/bad habits? what are they? how do they affect your oc?

bad habit of not consulting with people before making a decision, taking control of situations and just blindly assuming people will do as she says. they affect her in that people get fed up and leave her alone.

track & field: which (if any) of your ocs are athletic? what sports to they play? which of your ocs would go hard in p.e?

really the only "athletic" activity iris enjoys is hiking, which she combines with exploring. not into p.e at all and she left the figure skating team before she ever participated in a competition, still enjoys ice skating though.

parachute: who does your ocs trust the most? who makes them feel safe? who would they do absolutely anything for?

trusts herself the most first and foremost, then argyle who also makes her feel the safest. she trusts maree but maree is also too involved with winnie, not to mention iris feels like she has a clean slate with argyle where she can start from scratch with someone. that said: would do anything for both maree and winnie, argyle of course, and her dad and sister.

zodiac: what’s their sign? does it influence their personality? do they care about astrology?

my best friend irl vibe checked iris as a leo. do with that information as you wish. in-story, iris is really into astrology.

spellbook: are any of your ocs supernatural? if so, what are they/what are their abilities?

well, the whole point of the book is the girls are werewolves. there are no special abilities aside from the wolf transformation. iris is a pale brown wolf, they maintain their human eye colour so iris has an eye that's blue and one that's brown.

contact: how does your ocs feel about touch/physical contact? are they affectionate? if so, how do they display affection to others?

rarely initiates physical contact first but always accepts it gladly. because she's an older sister her ways of showing affection is by lovingly making fun of you or being a nuisance where you can see her. words of affirmation is her love language, she'll tell you she loves you and she'll mean it. believes in the power of complimenting people and telling them how great they are at something.

interiors: describe your oc's bedroom/home/or a place they consider “theirs”. what’s in it? do certain items have a special significance to your oc?

a plain bedroom with wooden floors and wooden walls, a big window right next to her bed. she makes garlands out of leaves and flowers that she then hangs on the walls like fairy lights. keeps boxes and bowls and cups filled with miscellaneous trinkets and more leaves and flowers all around the room. very much an out of sight out of mind cleaner, so don't look under her bed or in her closet. she also considers the forest as something that's hers in a way, it's her forest.

hobby: what do they love? what captivates them? what are their passions?

nature as a whole captivates her. her childhood dream of growing up and being an explorer is something she still holds onto, so she's been looking for careers that will allow her to travel and maybe pet some wild animals. nature makes her quiet and contemplate, could spend hours looking at a bird on the tree branches or at the still lake.

chess board: who is the most logical? or the schemer/planner?

in the scale of "think first act next" to "act first think next", iris definitely falls closer on the latter. she does this thing where she just... doesn't stop to consider consequences?? or collateral damage??

shooting star: if your ocs could have one wish what would it be?

a mum, not necessarily her mum since her feelings towards tamara are too complicated to unpack but she wants the feeling of it most of all.

🔎 raúl and iris appearances from three girls cried wolf/who cried wolf? :zoomyeyes: i love them

YES MY FAVOURITE ENBIES.

i don't have any images for RAÚL and i have only scattered bits of his appearance here and there with iris comparing herself to him. here's from his introduction: "He and Lirio had the same brown skin and I had a lighter tone like mum’s. Everyone’s eyes were brown, which begged to question where my left blue one had even come from." raúl is very scruffy, he has disheveled dark brown hair and can rarely be bothered to shave. i haven't really put much thought into him since he's a background character that, sure, affects the story on iris' end quite the bit but he is more made up off of little tidbits she discloses for us in her narration sometimes. i do think he needs glasses to read and look at blue light screens. would and has let his daughters put hairpins on him, and yes he has worn them to work, mostly because he forgot they were there. my mans probably has adhd tbh.

okay so. IRIS. like it says on the excerpt she has brown skin lighter than her dad and sister. their skin is already on the lighter end of brown so hers is a bit more so because her mum is light skin. she took after the mum and lirio after the dad. her hair is brown, with a bit of curl to it, and it starts out long-ish but throughout the book she decides to cut it at home just because. iris is ✨quirky✨ like that. so it ends up on this uneven line that she hides by tying it up in various ways. the excerpt also points out her heterochromia, iris has a brown eye (right) and a blue one (left).

i didn't have a set appearance for her until i found the image on the left. it gave her that soft look you shouldn't be fooled by (the image on the right just to show heterochromia). her cheeks are always perpetually blushed like you see cedric diggory in goblet of fire. she wears jeans and baggy shirts, with this one staple army jacket that's (specifically) dandelion yellow. owns like two pairs of boots but only wears the one because they are comfier. has the vibe of wearing flower crowns... well actually, less flower crowns and just leaf crowns. usually has split lips and a scab on the corner of her mouth from the cold wind. iris' wolf bite scar is on her forearm and it scarred a bit ugly because she wouldn't let anyone treat her so she did it all by herself. and speaking of wolves. if i'm gonna describe iris i gotta describe her wolf form: she's a soft brown wolf, just like this one pictured. the girls' eye colour translates to their wolf forms so yes, iris has heterochromia as a wolf too. it makes her a very interesting sight.

DAY 4: who is your favourite character from your main wip?

i don’t like to choose between my babies but as of posting this i am writing iris’ part for who cried wolf. and she was also my oc from the original version of the story when i was co-writing with my cousins at age eleven. so i’m gonna have to say her

in the og version of the story iris ibarra was an anthropomorphic snow leopard with rainbow spots named neola, which is where the name iris came from. y’know, like the greek goddess of the rainbow. and is also why she says she “could never choose a favourite colour”. she had superpowers related to the stars which is where i got the idea of making her interested in astrology. of course i had to make her human for the revamp and her appearance keys are as follows: curlish brunette hair she cut at home, heterochromia eyes (one blue and one brown), perpetually blushed cheeks (like cedric diggory in goblet of fire), a staple yellow army jacket that looks big on her, a soft pear-shaped body where her thighs and hips are wider compared to her torso. her wolf form is soft brown as pictured above. i used the studio ghibli movie from up the poppy hill to figure out her home situation. so she lives in a “big house” with her dad raúl who had her when he was a teenager and is now dating winnie's older sister, her little sister lirio who is ten at the beginning of the book, and three women who are paying to board in the house (a doctor, an artist and a graduate student). iris is a she/they enby and a demi/ace.

in the og version the girls didn’t really have distinct personalities. actually the only one who did was winnie (prev. jennifer) but it amounted to just “silly”. so i’ve had to build that up from scratch. iris can be a bit of a bitch, she likes being the one to make the final call on decisions, if people don’t agree with her she’ll just do the thing anyways. but she’s also a soft little thing who collects pretty leaves and could watch birds on trees for hours. and she is very compassionate as proven by it being her idea to take in the pups and her relationship with argyle macbay, who was created by @lorybean and i can’t believe how important argyle is now to iris’ version of the story.
