#'oh it's ok to not give it camera permission don't worry' I wasn't worried. I was about to update my resume REAL quick if it wasn't ok tho.

Gentle-Brie Larson x Reader
Summary: Brie is your best friend. You want to be more than that, but the fear of ruining your friendship prevents you from telling her the truth. Until one day when you decide you are tired of pretending
Song: Versace on the floor - Bruno Mars
This one shot is from a collection of Imagines I posted on my Wattpad. Go check it out if you like! Here is the link!
You couldn't take your eyes off of her. She was shining brighter than any star in the universe under the flashlights of many cameras. You swore you could feel your eyes burning while staring at her.
She was so graceful in her movements she looked like a queen. Her hands slowly moved from her face to her hips, posing for the cameras, her muscles flexing at every move. Your mouth was suddenly dry and you could feel your heart thumping against your chest from how fast it was beating. She was breathtaking.
Her lips were tilted up forming a little smile when her eyes landed on you, her smile growing in size as she lifted a hand your way, silently asking you to join her. You broke out of your trance and shakily made your way towards her, her arm wrapping around your waist, holding you close to her.
"You look wonderful, tonight." you whispered in her ear, your breath tickling on her neck. You swore you felt her shiver next to you.
She turned away from the cameras to facing you, her smile ever so bright as she looked softly down at you.
"Thank you, Y/N." she replied, her voice barely over a whisper you almost didn't hear her with all the paparazzi screaming her name.
You smiled and froze when her gaze fell down to your lips only to go back to the paparazzi in front of her as quick as lightning, a white toothed smile flashing for the paparazzi. Your cheeks felt like they were on fire but you tried to compose yourself so not to appear flushed by Brie's warm body pressed against yours.
You let out a sigh and put on a smile so big anyone could tell you were faking it. What you felt for Brie was something that went over your friendship, way more deeper than that. You have known her since your high school days and you walked with her through her rise to fame, helping her face the ups and downs that came with it. You are so proud of the woman she is today and how far she's come. She was your best friend and you were afraid that the feelings you had for her could ruin everything. That is why you unconsciously started to slowly push her way, finding any excuse to spend less and less time with her. If you weren't friends anymore, maybe you could finally go back to breath again and move on... What an idiot you were.
With you so deep in your thoughts, you didn't notice her looking back at you and frown at your facade. Brie could sense something was wrong, she was your best friend, and she has felt it for a while now. She knew you were pushing her away but she wouldn't give up on your friendship so easily. She wouldn't give up on you. Of course she was oblivious to your true feelings towards her, just as you were oblivious to her true feelings towards you, but unlike you, she didn't push you away and made sure to drag you anywhere she went, needing you in her life.
If only you could see that she was trying so hard to tell you how much she loved you, maybe you wouldn't push her away. Of course she was scared of ruining your friendship, too. That is why she always was so subtle. She would leave hits here and there hoping you would catch up, but your heart was so clouded by your mind that you never really noticed.
She stared at you for a few more seconds and sighed before taking your hand and giving it a light squeeze, letting you know she was there and always will be before tugging you along towards the theater.
....
"Y/N?" she kept knocking and knocking, waiting for you to answer your door.
You two were supposed to attend some award you didn't honestly remember and honestly didn't care. All you could think about were those photos.
How could she not tell me?
You thought as you furiously wiped away the tears that kept falling down, your thumb scrolling through the article that plastered all those photos showing Brie on a date with some mysterious guy. You knew you couldn't really be mad at her for dating someone, she wasn't your girlfriend, but you still couldn't help the jealousy that was burning you alive.
"Y/N! Open the door, please!" You heard her call from outside your apartment, her fist still banging on your door.
You kept ignoring her, not ready to answer why your eyes were red and puffy. You honestly didn't know what to tell her beside sucking it up like you always do.
"Alright, I'm starting to get scared so I'm coming in! Weather you like it or not!" She yelled and your widened when you heard the front door open, cursing yourself for ever telling her where you kept you spare key.
You quickly washed your face, trying in vain to erase the evidence that you've been crying your eyes out for the last three hours.
"Y/N, are you ok? I was getting worri..." she stopped in front of you, taking in your appearance, her brows furrowed in concern. She was wearing a beautiful blue dress that complimented her curves, her hair were shorter and bit lighter.
"What happened?" she asked as she leaned in to take your hand but you shoved her away
"Nothing happened." you snapped, way more harshly than you intended to, regretting it the moment you saw her flinch at your tone.
You shook your head and passed her to get to your room but she stooped you by grabbing your wrist.
"Y/N, what's wrong? Talk to me." she pleaded and you could feel the tears picking at your eyes again
"Nothing is wrong, Brie. You should go, that award you are supposed to go to is about to start." you reply not meeting her eyes before gently getting out of her grip.
"We were supposed to go together. If you are not going than I'm not going either." she said as she followed you into your room.
"I'm sure that guy you went on a date with would gladly be your plus one for the night" you spat with venom, jealously getting the best of you.
She froze in her spot, a guilty expression covering her features.
"Oh... You saw that." she whispered
"Yeah, Brie. I saw that." you snapped again and went to get you t-shirt and shorts you sleep in.
"I wanted to tell you, Y/N! I swear it was nothing but one date and it meant nothing!"
" Why are you explaining yourself to me, Brie? I'm not your girlfriend, you can go on as many dates you like but the least you could do is tell me!"
"Don't give me that crap, Y/N! You are mad because I went on a date on the first place!"
"Because you didn't tell me!" you yelled
"Bullshit!" she yelled back
You froze. Who were you kidding? It was clear you were mad because you were jealous and not because she didn't tell you. Your shoulders slumped and you let out a sigh, your hand rubbing your forehead.
"You're right. It's bullshit..." You let yourself fall onto your bed, your head hanging low.
You felt the bed shift as she took a seat next to you, close but not close enough, giving you space.
"I... I can't pretend like everything is alright, Brie. Not anymore..."
"What do you mean?" she asked, concern filling her voice.
"I can't pretend I'm happy you are dating someone because it kills me  every time someone else gets to touch you and I don't. I can't pretend I don't long for you touch because it sets my skin on fire and I love that feeling. I can't pretend I don't love you more than a friend because that is not true!" You spit out the truth one word after the other, feeling the weight on your shoulder getting lighter and lighter the more you go on.
"I was so scared to actually face my feelings because I thought it could ruin our friendship, but now I'm not scared anymore....." You took a deep breath.
"I love you, Brie. I've always loved you, since the day you stepped foot into class that day on our first day of high school. I love all of you. Your laugh anytime I crack one of my stupid jokes that only you seem to get. The way you winkle your nose when something is bothering you. How grumpy you are in the morning but at the same time so cute when you rub the sleep off your eyes. I even love when you get mad.... God. I just.... I love you." You let out a sigh of relief as you felt they weight on your shoulder finally disappear.
The whole time you didn't face Brie, fearing you would freeze and not finding the courage to tell her how you felt, so when you did you were surprised to see her eyes filled with tears and a small, soft smile plastered on her face.
"That was... Those were the most wonderful things anyone has ever told me..." she breathed out as she slowly reached out for your hand, silently asking for permission
You nodded and enjoyed the feeling of her hand in yours. She opened her mouth as if to say something before closing it again.
"Please, say something." you whisper as you gently cup her face with your free hand and wipe away her tears with your thumb.
"Y/N..." she whispers as she starts to lean in, your noses almost touching
"I love you, too." and then her lips gently pressed against yours
Let's take our time tonight, girl
Your head was spinning. You could not believe this was actually happening. She tasted just like you imagined, perfect to your lips. You closed up the space between the two of you, one hand still cupping her cheek, the other resting on her waist. She slowly pushed you back on the bed, her hands on your chest as she laid on top of you.
There's no place I'd rather be in this world
You both break apart, gasping for breath, a smile covering both your faces. She looked down at you and smiled before kissing your forehead, slowly leaning in towards your ear
"You are beautiful." she whispered before leaving soft, wet kisses all down your neck and up your jaw before landing back on your lips.
Her tongue swiftly moving against yours before sucking at your bottom lip.
You let out a shaggered breath and closed your eyes for the pleasure you were feeling. The need of having her hands on you getting stronger and stronger.
Underneath the chandelier
We're dancin' all alone
There's no reason to hide
What we're feelin' inside
You open your eyes again as her hands gently move under your t-shirt, her beautiful, wonderful, brown eyes asking for permission to touch you. You nod and take in a shuddering breath as her hands slowly caress your skin, enjoying the feeling of your skin against her hands before she reaches for your bra to un clasp it and throwing it on the ground, cupping one of your breasts, gently squeezing it, her mouth back on yours.
"Let... Let me take that off for you" you say between kisses pointing to her dress.
She doesn't say anything, she just keeps kissing you, pulling you up towards her until you are both seated in front of one another. She pulls away her lips as you guide your hands over her body, moving to stand behind her.
I unzip the back to watch it fall
While I kiss your neck and shoulders
Your hands move towards the zip of her dress, your fingertips purposely grazing her skin as you pull it down, slowly, reveling her back. You help her take it off and unclasp her bra before hugging her from behind, one hand cupping one of her breasts, just like she did with yours, while the other caressed the side of her neck. Her ragged breath made you feel wanting more and more as you started leaving kisses on her neck, slowly rising up to her ear.
"You are everything I have ever dreamed of"
She turned her head towards you, staring at your eyes before kissing your lips, your grip on her breast tightening.
"Y/N... I want you. I need you. Now" she rasped, not able to resist any longer.
You smiled and nodded. You slowly pushed her back on the bed, you laying on top of her.
"I'll be gentle"
Dance
........
You woke up wrapped in strong arms, body draped by naked legs. You smile like you never did before and turn to meet the face of the woman you were in love with staring back at you, her smile mirroring yours.
"See? There was no reason to be scared." she softly whispered, her voice still groggy from sleep, and then kissed the tip of your nose.
"I love you"
