and much to kunikida's dismay, it leaked over into your work. as you sat at your desk your attention was always drawn towards your boyfriend. whatever he was doing, you couldn't help but 'subtly' look at him and give a soft smile. you couldn't help it! you probably could admire him for the rest of your life and never get bored. and each time you thought you were being so smart and subtle about it.

but ranpo knew, i mean how could he not you did it so often. but why would he stop you from staring at the greatest detective and in his opinion the greatest boyfriend. sometimes he would look back at you just to see you quickly look away with a slight tinge of red on your cheeks. and he especially noticed whenever he was smiling you were looking at him with even softer eyes and a slightly wider smile. he made a mental note to smile more around you just to see your lovestruck stare. sometimes when he was laughing, whether from a comment from you or anything else, you wished that you could just stop time and savour that moment for the rest of your life. you truly were just the luckiest.

you never quite decided whether you preferred your girlfriend with her hair up or down. actually whatever hairstyle you couldn't help but think about how lucky you were. i mean just one look at her and you couldn't help but go into a trance, she was just so pretty!

you tried to be subtle about it, try to do small glances but they were way too often for gin not to notice. at first she was confused but after catching you a few times with that same lovestruck look, she couldn't help but get slightly red on her cheeks.

and the first time you saw her smile without her mask on. you thought you would die. and you would die happy. even when it became more common for gin to have her mask off around you, that didn't mean you would stop admiring her. it probably made it worse as now you probably would struggle to stop staring even more.

you had been under kunikida's care for a while now and he never dared let you out of his sight. or atleast not without another (trusted) member of the agency with you. mainly because you liked to be near him. as your parental figure he made you feel safe.

but sometimes that's not entirely possible. for example when you two were were walking back home you had an unexpected encounter with some port mafia subordinates. kunikida had told you to hide while he dealt with them and not to move unless you were in extreme danger.

however one member that was trying to make an escape had stumbled across where you had taken safety. upon seeing you, you started panicking and made a run for it just to end up trapped in a corner.

and in a moment of panic it happened. your ability had triggered itself in a moment of protection. fortunately kunikida had sorted out the rest of mafiosos. but soon all he heard was a scream followed by a child's sob.

immediately assuming it was you he ran to the source of the noise. just to find you sobbing as blood coated your hands and a mangled body laid infront of you. he immediately pulled you into a hug and comforted you in the best way he could.

safe to say he didn't tell anyone about the little incident but saw how you always stayed slightly closer to him at all times. but he did try to help you control your ability so you wouldn't have to go through that again.

upon taking care of you yosano had promised to never let you get hurt. you saw her as a parental figure and therefore she took on that responsibility to keep you safe and protected.

that normally meant you accompanied her everywhere and often spent time with her at the agency. often staying with her at her desk of with simwone else if she had to go help people. but that meant that danger was not far.

the port mafia had a tendency to storm the agency in its office. and normally it would be sorted within a few moments but this one seemed like they over prepared as more mafioso were present at this time. so yosano, in ordeer to protect you, sent you to hide until they dealt with them and maybe you could go with her on the apology round.

but unfortunately as you were trying to hide one of the subordinates had round the corner and saw you. and in a moment of panic you had discovered your ability. they of course heard the commotion and yosano immediately ran over to check on you as you started hyperventilating as you saw your bloodstained hands.

safe to say collectively as an agency they agreed that they needed to comfort you and help you control your ability. and many times yosano would help you through anything.

he knew that taking care of you would pose it's risks, he was a mafia executive. but you viewed him as a older brother and he couldn't just push you away. so he would have to just protect you as much as he could.

but if he has to go away he hands you over to kōyō as he can't risk bringing you with him and he only trusts her to look after you. however when he was heading back from his mission and he got a very panicked call from kōyō.

apparently some other organisation that had been troubling them for some time had stormed the base of the building. he asked if you were okay and kōyō said that she had lost you in the commotion as she tried to get you to safety.

he felt a wave of panic and raced back to immediately search for you. however you weren't fairing to well as you had been caught by some people and in a moment of panic your ability had shown itself. and as you broke out of the trance from your ability, bloody corpse's laid out infront of you and your body wracked with sobs.

chuuya had found you and immediately taken you into his embrace and away from the scene. he spent alot of time afterwarrds with you helping you with your ability and comforting you about your experience.

↪in summer it was harder for you two to show affection seeing as you were constantly overheated. but that wouldn't stop you from pressing yourself against your boyfriend and him feigning that he was going to die of heat exhaustion.

it was just natural for atsushi to care about people that he respected or liked. but somewhere along the lines of working with you, he started caring about you slightly more than others. and originally he was embarrassed that he started feeling butterfly's in his stomach whenever you were near or if you complimented him but he started getting over that and now he was just nervous about trying to confess.

but one day when you two where assinged the mission to close up a case taht ranpo had narrowed down he started feeling concerned. not for him but for you. you both knew this was a dangerous job but you two were probably the best bet according to ranpo. so atsushi was horribly worried that something would happen to you. something that would prevent him from ever building up the confidence to confess.

but so far everything was going smoothly, you two were just clearing out the last of the mission and he had finished so he went to go find you. but when he went to go find you it seemed his fears where becoming true. you were leant against a wall clutching an open wound to your side and struggling to keep yourself standing upright with only one hand puttong pressure on the wound. he immediately ran over to help you up and called up yosano and the agency to get you help.

he layed you down and helped you try stop the bleeding and told you that you two had did it and help was on the way. and after this he promised to himself he would build up the confidence to confess.

when you two originally had first started out in your relationship, she had vowed to herself that she would protect you no matter what. she had lost people she cared about before and she's never letting that happen again.

so when it was announced that you were meant to go on quite a dangerous mission she couldn't help but volunteer herself to go with you. if you were away and gravely injured how would she save you? after some bargaining and discussion, she was allowed to go with. you two wouldn't be gone for that long if all went well so it wasn't that big if their doctor was gone for a while.

plus fukuzawa knew that she cared deeply for you and after all she's already been through he wanted her to be happy with someone she truly cared about. although she couldn't accompany you when you actually went to deal with whatever business was on that mission, she held a base camp for you to return to or request her help if need be and that made her happy knowing that she could protect you.

although you had yet to return and it was getting worry some as of you had something else to deal with you would've messaged her right? so she set off in your last known location hoping that nothing was wrong and it was just taking longer. as she approached the site, she got more cautious but after seeing no one else around she assumed you had won, but where were you?

that was soon answered when she spotted you limping towards her. your leg looked completely mangled and most of your clothes look torched, most likely a flame wielding ability user. she panicked and ran over to you taking you in her arms and praying she would never have to see you in this state again.

sometimes when strategizing for missions that require someone of a particular skill or ability ranpo doesn't really care that much about who ends up doing it. but when it involves you, going alone he can't help but try to interject and stop it especially if its rather dangerous.

there was a rather serious mission that needed solving as fast as possible to avoid more casualties. and as soon as ranpo heard your name as the final decision he felt a worry he had never felt before and immediately tried to change the president's mind but he knew deep down that you were needed to do this. and with high reluctance he let you out of the tight hug as he clung to you wishing you would make it back safe.

he simply couldn't sit still at work and seemed even less willing to actually work. he simply paced around clocks, calenders anything to could give him a countdown till you returned. for the safety of your mission no one was allowed to contact you until you contacted them back to give updates. so with no way to hear that your safe made his mind play tricks on him and always assumed the worst.

on the day of your expected return, ranpo was waiting right behind the door to your shared apartment there was no way he was going to miss you, he had to greet as soon as he saw you, he just msissed you two much. and because you got home later you siad you would come straight there. although he was slightly worried as the only sign of your status was a quick message saying you had finished and were coming back. and eventually he saw the doorknob turn and he got ready to practically pounce on you but as soon as the door opened he stopped.

there stood before him was in fact you. but with bruises on your face, slightly blood matted hair and clutching your left arm to your side all adorned eith a painfull smile. as soon as you saw ranpo you felt like you could relax and let the sweet embrace of fatugue take you as ranpo caught you in his arms and hurriedly dialing yosano to come help you. while he waited he brought your body carefully further into his embrace as he felt a small tear roll down his cheek.

↪starting a martial art and going straight into it would often lead to misunderstanding or simple failure so no matter how much he insisted he could figure it out you decided to start with the basic basics. and a good place for that was ranges. kicks, punches then elbows and knees, it was important to understand what was best in each scenario.

↪and when he got the basics which admittedly took not that long you would move on to things such as groundwork, take downs, defensive stances and such.

↪and maybe when he was ready you could teach him how to use some weapons. a common one was a katana but for beginners sometimes a bokken would suffice, essentially a wooden katana. or something more simple such as a bo staff or escrima sticks.

↪i think he would personally find the escrima sticks easier to use and he would be weirdly good at arm bars or figure four locks. definitely better at defending and counter attacking.

↪ranpo wouldn't tell you but after your little lessons he held more respect for how you carried yourself without using your ability. and he did gloat a little to fellow agency members about his new skills. although given the chance he would gladly stick to what he has already going.

im glad, i found it very fun to write :)

dazai would totally try to hold over your head when he catches you. or he would either tease you about and make you much more embarrassed, like he would always joke about telling ranpo but would get up to go over just to go to atsushi.

and kunikida would catch you a few times before getting annoyed and would always tell you to get back to work. eventually he justt gets so fed up about it and tried to find ways to distract you. maybe eventually he would make a comment about how you two were worse than lovers in his old classes.
