I mean, it's a bad faith ask, but it reminded me to post about something I've been meaning to post for a while so I decided to engage.

There have been so many cases where the Met Police specifically have been found to lie about killing people or the circumstances of people's death, that at this stage I just assume anything they say is a lie, and it's part of a wider conspiracy to protect officers above all else.

This is why we say things like ACAB. To give another example, the initial autopsy on Ian Tomlinson saying he died of a heart attack, not blunt force trauma- that speaks to a lot of people being involved, a culture of covering this shit up.

But even if he was a "criminal" it obviously doesn't warrant being shot in the street. And as for gangs- the met police are the most dangerous gang in London.

Spring Break

Es gibt echt immer so viel zu berichten 😮‍💨 Mit den Emojis versuche ich immerhin den Ausgleich zu meinen WhatsApp-Nachrichten herzustellen. Wer mich kennt, weiß, ich bin da recht sparsam mit Emojis 🤭 Wenn man meinen Blog dagegen liest, ist das kaum zu glauben 😅 Dadurch verlängert sich zwar auch der einzelne Blogeintrag. Aber das macht nichts, wenigstens erhöht sich dafür die Aufmerksamkeitsspanne beim Lesen 😂

Die Vorfreude auf die Spring Break steigt enorm! Nächsten Montag ist es so weit 🤪😁 Eine Woche Zeit in den USA, zu tun, was wir wollen!! Viele andere Studierende reisen zu der Zeit nach Hause, andere bleiben in Tallahassee, weil sie arbeiten müssen, ihnen ihr Weg nach Hause zu lang für die Woche ist oder sie einfach hier bleiben wollen, um zu entspannen und ein bisschen die örtlichen Attraktionen zu erkunden 🚗 Es war anfangs nicht ganz klar, was ich machen will oder wie lange und mit wem. Durch einen Kontakt über drei Ecken, ausgehend von einem Dozenten meiner Heimatuni in Hamburg, hat sich eine Gelegenheit gegeben, nach Atlanta zu fahren 😙🤙🏽 Dort ist also am Montag ein Treffen mit einem örtlichen Stadtplaner geplant, der mir und Lorenda hoffentlich einiges an Hintergrundwissen über Stadtplanung in Atlanta und in den USA generell mitgeben kann 🫴🏽 Lorenda, die ebenfalls Stadtplanung an der HCU studiert und mit im Auslandssemester ist (ja ich hab’s schon mal erwähnt, ab jetzt schreibe ich nur noch Lorenda, dann ist auch klar, wer gemeint ist), hat darüber hinaus noch eine weitere Freundin aus Hamburg kontaktiert, die sich ihrerseits in Kalifornien befindet, um etwas in der Spring Break zusammen zu machen 🙎‍♀️🙎‍♀️ Wie es der „Zufall“ will, kannte ich sie auch von einer christlichen Silvesterfreizeit her und so kam die Idee auf, dass Lorenda, Elena, eine weitere Freundin von ihr und ich zusammen etwas unternehmen 🙎‍♀️🙎‍♀️🙎‍♀️🤷🏼‍♂️ Aber was?! Die Spring Break ist eine Woche lang, das kann viel Zeit sein, aber auch wenig. Nun ja, welche Orte fallen dir so ein, die man in den USA mal gesehen haben sollte? Uns sind neben Atlanta noch Chicago und New York eingefallen 🙋🏼‍♂️ Es wird also eine richtig verrückte Woche, in der wir drei Megastädte erkunden wollen 🤩 Ein aufregendes, teures Vergnügen (ich werde hier nicht den Preis verraten, du kannst ja mal schätzen 💵🔥😭)! Drei, vier Tage pro Stadt ist nicht viel Zeit, das ist uns auch klar. Daher geht es darum, die absoluten touristischen Basics mitzunehmen🏃🏼💨 Falls noch Zeit übrig ist, wollen wir so wenig wie möglich auf der Strecke lassen, um wirklich sagen zu können, wir waren dort, wir haben auch DAS gesehen! ✔️ Es wird stressig, wir werden müde sein, Tränen haben, unserem Geld nachweinen und hoffentlich keinen Streit untereinander anzetteln… aber es wird auch ein unvergessliches Erlebnis werden!! 🥴 Wir haben uns selbst drei Tage, bevor die Reise losgeht, fast noch gar nicht über die konkreten Attraktionen vor Ort unterhalten, die wir als Gruppe zusammen machen wollen. Daher wird es noch einiges zu planen geben in den kommenden Tagen 🤳🏻😮‍💨 Heute haben wir immerhin schon mal ein Ticket für ein Musical im Broadway gebucht, sodass man sagen kann, selbst dieses Erlebnis werden wir mitgenommen haben!! Was wir genau machen werden, und wie unsere Gruppendynamik sich ausspielt, wie meine Emotionen und Eindrücke sein werden, hinterlasse ich natürlich alles im Blog zum nachlesen und mitfiebern 🤭 Ich versuche täglich abends nen Artikel zu verfassen, das wird ne Challenge 🫡 Darum stay tuned, ich bin begeistert und an alle Komiliton:innen und deutschen Student:innen da draußen, genießt eure Semesterferien!! 🥳🤩 Wie immer freue ich mich über Kommentare, Feedback, Hinweise und Anregungen.
