WILLIAM  AFTON --------- ; REDEMPTION STORYLINE NOTES . . .

As far as Afton’s redemption verse goes, there are a few things that should be noted. While he does work as a ... relatively normal version of himself in the Pizzaplex as “Dave Miller” his work doesn’t just consist of the normal night guarding and “being a jerk” like the employee entry would imply.

While he’s a bit more guarded an on edge this is both a result of exhaustion and feeling like he doesn’t have time or the right to many any new connections. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not possible to befriend him. It’s just a bit difficult. 

His main goal consists on subduing and laying to rest whatever the Blob is. Thus far, all of his results have failed and he’s had to have... Extensive repairs done. Which is why William has to have access to all the cameras, and snoops through entries in the first place. Something other employees know about but don’t seem to care to note being that he’s a security guard and it’s kind of his job.

All in all: the first impression is just annoying, weird, rude stickler security guard old man who never seems to have time for anything other than whatever he may want.

What he doesn’t know however is that Cassidy is absolutely aware that he’s escaped. However, being that she can’t very leave, Charlie being the guardian of the group volunteered to be the scout. The eyes. 

She’s been keeping an eye on him, both for Cassidy and her own suspicion. While at first she couldn’t understand or believe that he might be different, as time has passed it’s become more obvious that this isn’t a trick. Especially given that he has no way of knowing she’s keeping tabs on him. 

The nightmares he has aren’t always caused by her but at times they are of her own doing. There is a soul in him, despite what he thinks.

He tries not to think about it. 

The other difference in this timeline is that while he is still incredibly afraid of both Cassidy and the haunted animatronics, should they seek to end him he does his best not to scream or run. He’s not intent on dying, but seeing as their anger is rightful he at least makes an effort to talk them out of it.

Most of the time, he resorts to defending himself. Subduing assailants when possible and dodging or running the rest of the time.

However, being that he eventually knows he has to face the spirits of those he’s damned and harmed -- he has resigned himself to knowing he will not scream or cry or beg for his life. He will simply do what he can for now and take whatever fate they give him as long as it will give them peace. 

He knows there’s no happiest day for him, not anymore. And that there is no point in begging for mercy he had not shown them.

Fate might have other plans for him, however... :) Who knows.

         He’s always so diligent, so aware of his surroundings.  Azure is a good addition to their seaside community. 

         Chang’e has made attempts to correct the wrongs that she and her late husband had wrought on their people ; they were grateful, after having suffered at the scorching rays of the Jade Emperor’s sons, and crowned the two fallen immortals as their new rulers.  Sine then, though... things have been a little touch-and-go over the years, but there has been progress towards healing.

         When he reaches for her hand, the goddess doesn’t anticipate that the lion would be bringing it to his blue-hued muzzle.  It’s chaste and polite, with his head and posture bowed towards her much shorter form.  She’s curious what made him feel so bold that he could do that without her permission  --  although, it’s more likely that Azure wouldn’t make such a move if he didn’t know if he could get away with it.  Her face flushes, afternoon-blue eyes widening with bewilderment before she allows herself to giggle at his gesture. 

   ❝ what was that for ? ❞  Chang’e says as she brings a large sleeve up to conceal her silly little smile, the empress suddenly feeling a wave of bashfulness washing over her.
