We are pleased to report on the results of the fifth annual Park Cleaning at Ako Traffic Park, and what we have demonstrated this time is the "Butterfly Effect".
This time, we worked in the area facing the central intersection. In the previous four cleanups, our mission was to remove grass caves that had boldly invaded the road surface, but this time we were to remove pebbles, sand, and dirt that had accumulated thickly on the road surface. While a full-scale cleaning of the road surface is the main mission, removing the weathering and accumulation over an unexpectedly long period of time is no easy task. The entire course is in a similar state, so more time is still needed.
Before ]
The entire surface of the course was surveyed. Based on the data, we made a tentative course map. It is the largest traffic park that I know of, with a width of 80m and a length of 50m. However, the area outside the course has been invaded by grass, and the area that can be driven on is very narrow, so it will take a long time to completely remove the grass.
This is a phenomenon proposed by mathematician Edward Norton Lorenz, who used the term when he was convinced by experiments using a weather simulation model that "if a butterfly flaps its wings in one place, a tornado can occur on the other side of the world. There is a similar analogy in Japan, which indicates that even the smallest thing can cause unexpected changes, and this time there was an event that proved it. This time, on April 26, I was interviewed by a newspaper company.
The person in the picture is Ms. Kotani of the Ako branch of the Kobe Shimbun. For about an hour from 1:00 p.m., I was asked about the purpose of starting the cleanup and my plans after the cleanup was completed, and I was photographed. I also learned about the newspaper's company policy, her background and where he came from, and so on.
PS.
The person in the background of the picture is the "Law of Entropy" person whom I introduced in the last issue, who voluntarily prepares tools and cleans the places he chooses. Naturally, no promises or meetings have been made, so I do not know what will happen in the future, but I am looking forward to it because it will lead to the "Butterfly Effect.

Another little camping trip! This time we went to Ako City’s Seaside Park and Campground. It was really kid-friendly, with multiple play areas (slides, monkey bars, etc) and wide open spaces for running around or riding bikes.
I was really impressed by the nice facilities: clean restrooms (heated toilet seats!!), hot water for washing dishes in the big water station, and roomy showers (¥200/5 minutes). We will definitely get back there again!
Refined colors for this muted outfit, pairing a soothing kimono depicting a beach and moonlit sea, paired with an unusual obi with people scaling walls on bamboo ladders.
The obi is a nod to an episode of the famous Forty-seven ronin narrative, where the loyal ronin after months of careful planning, attack the mansion of their ennemy Kira Yoshinaka (Moronao in Chushingura plays) to assassinate him in the dead of night.
We would like to report the results of the 4th road cleaning at Ako Traffic Park. What I learned this time is "Second law of thermodynamics".
As with the previous three cleanings, the cleaning site this time was near the central intersection, where grass and grass had spread to cover the road surface.
I decided on a target time to defeat such a formidable opponent. The work area this time is about the same size as last time, so my goal is to take less than 4 hours from the last time. Now what will happen?
The work is finished. In terms of work time, we significantly shortened the target time to approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. Is this proof that the work setup is progressing little by little?
"Second Law of Thermodynamics" is a law of nature that states that "things in the natural world will change in a more complex direction and will not spontaneously return to their original state unless they are intentionally processed." Something happened to prove that. In fact, this time, someone showed up to participate in the cleaning work. He learned about the cleaning work and came prepared with the necessary equipment, and the work was done in a different place than I was and the tools used were different, so it was a very natural experience. As the "complexity" increased, we were able to prove the "law of increasing entropy" in an unexpected way.
I don't know how things will change in the future, but I'm sure that through the work I do, changes will continue to occur little by little, in ways that are invisible to the eye.
We are currently removing the grass first, but since the surface has not been cleaned for more than 20 years, the entire course is covered with a thick layer of pebbles and sand. So, we initially planned to clean the entire course in 90 hours, but that may not be possible. But we had no choice but to do it.
And even if we can't clean the entire course, if we can clean the area around the central intersection area, we can hold simple riding lessons and motorcycle clinics, and I believe it will be a relief for the grandfathers who bring their grandchildren to practice their bicycles.
