Kamakura Club Saryo-Komachi

The other day I posted about the chakai I joined. Since I rented a kimono for this day, I thought it’s nice to have a little stroll around Kamakura station. Since it was super hot on that day, I wanted to go inside somewhere to cool down. By chance I found a cute little tea shop called Kamakura Club Saryo-Komachi.

The shop was super tiny and had only 6 seats. When I entered there was only one seat left. Perfect for me. The only problem: I had almost no cash left and the menu was Japanese only with so many kanji. So I had to really focus to understand what I’ll be able to order with my 1.000¥. And my options where really limited because this place had only expensive high quality teas. And I didn’t wanted to drink more caffeine on that day.

I ended up ordering a gokase blueberry leaf tea. The staff was so relaxed and spread such a calming atmosphere. After taking my order she told me I could chose the teapot for a certain selection. And I choose a blue one to match it to the teas naming. She prepared my tea carefully and introduced it to me a little bit further.

While I was sitting there enjoying my tea, the staff started talking with the customer next to me. He was an older guy with lots of camera equipment and seemed to be a regular. They talked about some flowers he took pictures of. Then he asked about a new liquor he saw on the shops instagram. It was a apricot liquor from okinawa. After she introduced it to him, she noticed I was listening and offered me smell the liquor as well.

After sitting there for a while other people left bit by bit. And I could take some snaps of the interior. Soon I decided to get up as well – hoping my cash would be enough and I didn’t miscalculated anything. But everything was fine. The staff even complimented me for wearing a kimono, which was so kind of her.

When I left she even accompanied me outside. Which was super nice of her. But because of this I didn’t took a picture of the outside of the tea shop. But since there where some constructions on the building it was not too much of a shame. Just one more reason to go back some day 😌
